Lg l7 (p705) kitkat upgrade fix (just a tip on good work by devs to help )

I SPENT ALL NIGHT TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE KITKAT PORT OF CM11 , FINALLY AFTER GETTING IT TO INSTALL AND MADE IT RUN FAST ,I DECIDED TO SHARE MY FINDINGS:
1) 1ST ROOT
2) UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
3) INSTALL RECOVERY (USE THE ONE FOR LGP700 EVE IF YOU ARE USING P705 ILL EXPLAIN)
4) BOOT INTO RECOVERY
5) THE REASON I USED THE P700 CWM IS BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO FIND ONE FOR P705, I NOTED THIS BECAUSE THE RECOVERIES I FOUND WERE ALL PORTS AND THE ONE THAT WORKED FOR ME WAS THE ONE FOR LG P700, IF YU KNOW ONE FOR P705 TELL ME.
6) I HOPE YOU DOWNLOADED THE KITKAT FOR P700 AND NOT P705 AS YOU WILL GET AN ERROR SAYING THE ROM IS FOR P705 AND YOUR DEVICE IS P700 (THIS I BECAUSE OF THE RECOVERY) SO USE THE P700
7) AFTER INSTALL FLASH GAPPS AS USUAL (GO FOR MINIMAL INSTALL FOR FASTER 1ST TIME BOOT ETC.
8) REBOOT, THE 1T BOOT WILL TAKE LONG, AND AFTER THE BOOT THE WIFI ADAPTER MAY NOT BE WORKING SO JUST REBOOT THE PHONE , IT SHOULD WORK , THAT IS IF YOU WILL USE WIFI, WHICH I RECOMMEND THEN U SIGN UR GOOGLE FAMILY.
9) AFTER EVERTHING IS DONE , U WILL NOTICE A BIG LAG ,, AND U WILL BE LIKE WTF , CZ KITKAT SHOULD BE BETTER . DUNNO WHY BUT THE CPU VALUES ARE SUPER LOW , SO GO TO PLAY STORE AND GET NO FRILLS AND PLAY WITH THOSE VALUES I RECOMMEND 245 MIN AND 1.15GHZ MAX , I USE CFQ (OLD SCHOOL ) AND ON DEMAND , SAVE THAT .
10) NOW CONTINUE INSTALLIMG OTHER APPS , SO FAR I HAVE ENCOUNTERED 0 BUGS AND NO FC's ,,,
11) RAPE THAT THANKS BUTTON IF I HELP

its no problem to flash p700 roms on p705 devices,just open the updater script on windows with Notepad++,or on android with rootexplorers textoption and change the 700 to 705 or whatever you need,just put the script back in romzip,done.no problem by flashing.only for suggestion,greeeetz

now i have 4.1.2 build 9.1.A.1.140
i install Sony pc companion and try to update but i get your phone i up t date message !!

Well, according to Xperia Update Checker by Macmol, your device is Movistar Colombia and here is the problem, because it's still with 9.1.A.1.140 firmware.

Sure you can
9.2.A.1.210 is better because it's the last.
If you flash with Flashtool you can't root, because there's not a direct method yet.
The only way to keep root, is flashing a pre-rooted 9.2.A.1.210 via recovery.
FTF files for Flashtool are in General section, instead ZIP files for recovery are in Development section.

1) Install recovery
Download here: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23269279319202175
Take your phone, go to settings, developer options, turn on and select USB debugging.
Connect the phone to PC now.
Unpack CWM4XperiaT_v8i_JB.zip
Run install.bat/install.sh
Follow the instructions, remember that your device is V, keep an eye on the display of the phone and give root permission when asked.
After the end of the process, enter into recovery like this: turn off the phone and turn on.
Immediately, try one of this combination:
Press repeatedly (not holding) power button until the phone vibrates
OR
Tap repeatedly the screen
2) Once you're in recovery, make a BACKUP.
So if something will go wrong or simply if you want to go back to 4.1.2 because you don't like 4.3, you will be able to return to the present situation just resuming this backup.
3) Install .210
Remember that you will lose all your data and apps. Instead what is inside internal memory and SD card is SAFE (backup included)
Download and install Flashtool
Download THIS and move it into the directory C:/Flashtool/firmwares
Download .210 zip file HERE and copy it into the internal memory of your phone.
Turn off and go into recovery.
Make a wipe data/factory reset.
Then install zip from sd card, choose zip from sd card, select .210 zip file.
When it's done, select POWER OFF (be careful, DO NOT select reboot).
Open Flashtool, click on the lightning symbol ("flash device"), select "Flashmode" and click on "OK"
Now select LT25_9.2.A.1.210_1268-6904_FIX4.3 and click on "Flash"
Wait for a window to pop up
Now take your phone, push the volume-down button, keep pushing and connect to your PC
Once the flashing process has started, release the volume rocker as soon as possible
NEVER disconnect the USB cable until it's finished!!!
Turn on and enjoy! :good:

and last question , Do you think can i backup some apps like whatsup , wechat , line without problems or recomend to install of apps fresh after Flash ?

1) If you want to keep root you must download LT25i.210_nor_deodex_root_philz_v1.zip that I linked above, since it's already rooted.
2) When you flash zip via recovery you don't touch the old kernel. You flash only the new system. After that, you need to flash the new kernel, so you need Flashtool with LT25_9.2.A.1.210_1268-6904_FIX4.3
3) When you switch from an Android version to another, a full wipe is always recommended. A partial wiping could give strange behaviours.
Therefore it's better a fresh installation of the app and then (when possible) a resume of the backup offered by the app: for example I'm quite sure that Whatsapp has a backup option within its settings. Use THAT option if possible with any app. Right?

Wipe cache is already included into factory reset.
Wipe dalvik cache is not mandatory in this case... do it if you want
Anyway all wipes will be repeated by Flashtool, so don't worry about that.
In Flashtool you have to change NOTHING, since yours is a brand new installation. Just flash.

And no, you can't unlock an Xperia V through Flashtool. It's impossible at the moment.

Unlocking is mandatory for new Xperia that can't be rooted directly, because they are too new and they've been released with 4.3 or 4.4
We don't have this problem because we have 4.1.2 that is easy rootable, so we can install recovery and do everything we want

i get error : device not found , on run install.bat , but the root message come on phone and my phone reset ! why this happend ? i need driver ?
i check device manager and no yellow unknown driver find , i also install Flash Tool Driver and enable usb Debugging

This is for locked. Stop asking. Don't worry.
I did this million times with locked bootloader.
During the process does your phone ask for root permission? Do you tap on yes?

in first time yes , the root permission Comes and i tap on Grant
then the phone reset and the error device not found apear in install.bat cmd
i though maybe the driver not installed so i download and install Driver again , even i try http://adbdriver.com/upload/AdbDriverInstaller.exe and this tool show that my Driver is ok !!

From 9.2.A.1.210 to (9.2.A.2.5) will be stay rooted or need some hack again ??!

First question:
Flash latest firmware via Flashtool, then re-root your phone with the Towelroot method.
Best would be to uncheck wipe data option in Flashtool. ^^
Second question:
There is a Linux feature called swap. You could try to install the app Swapper from Play Store, then create a swap file of around 512mb (or more, if your prefer).. Will help a lot while playing games or browsing the web etc.

There's a new direct method to root android 4.3 and it's named "towelroot".

Nope, Swapper will create a file. No partition. So no problems.
But you can also create a partition in recovery, if you want. ^^

well interesting , i don't remember well but when 1 year ago when i used Arc S , for use swap ( increase Ram ) i did some instructions like :
use MiniTool Partition in windows and Create special partition for swap

Swap itself works quite decently. Made it possible to play Asphalt 8 for me. I have been using a different swap method, however.
I used a mod called TurboBoost Triple Swap to enable swap on system partition. Apparently this method is faster, but I havent noticed a difference myself. ^^

If you want to update to 9.2.A.2.5, you can flash FTF with Flashtool WITHOUT wiping data (uncheck everything inside wipe box).
You'll lose root and recovery, so just follow my instructions to install them again

I installed philz touch recovery using this method and now when I turn off my phone for more than an hour it's totally dead (clock and alarm not working). I installed safecharge but it's no use. Any idea about this?

6.Select the image file to install and let it be installed automatically.
It will reboot into recovery.
NOW
1.enter in Cwm recovery in Gionee M2
2.There will be a option Present In Your shutdown Menu
3.Or Alternatively you can Enter by Pressing Hardware Keys
4.Press Volume Keys UP and Power button simultaneously
4.Let go once you reach a screen that shows 3 options, here choose recovery, it will then boot directly to CWM

Thanks for you and your team-mates. You`ve done a great job. Recently I`ve updated M2 from 4.2.2 to 4.4.2. But could not root the same. Hope it will be possible now. But in your Root Instructions you`ve wrote that this method is only for 4 GB model. But mine is 8GB model. Now my question is What should I do ? Should I go for the Root Master option ? If this is only for 4 GB too , then please do something for 8GB also. Thank you once again.

Then some important app don't work like titanium backup...and one more things xposed framework don't work...But we r trying to find out that solution... Its better u use method one install root master and then... Root... After that update ur recovery with we provided... This is touch base recovery we also created non touch recovery... If u need that the tell... We will also provide.. That.. If any help needed most welcome...

Many , many thanks. I tried Root Master (2nd option). Follow your instructions. Install apk as a normal apk. But when I tried to root via Mulai Root. it tried for sometimes, but nothing happened. Generation some message in some language,which I could not read. After that when I checked with root checker apk, it says, No rooing access. What should I do ?

Bro use 1st app... If 2nd not work for you... First should definitely work.. Try that and answer... If that also not work we also find a new method... First u try method 1

Nope. Sorry Bro, this option has been also failed to root the same. After installing when I first try to run the app, in first screen it says " M2, and after that it says No Root Permission",and when I click on Root button, it says " failed, and try again". I`ve tried several times , but every time same thing happened. So, both apps are failed to to root the kitkat version. apart from these I`ve also tried Vroot, towelroot. All failed. I really don`t know why this kitkat version remains unrootable. When I was on 4.2.2, I got root access at first chance by Vroot. I`ve tried to root the same from last 3 days. Now it becomes boring to me. Please try to find other options, by which we can at least root this device. Best of luck. Thank you and your team once again for helping us a lot to try to root the device. Waiting for your response.
BTW , previously when I tried to root the same by Vroot, then also in first scrren it said something like that " no root permission", same thing happened with Rootgenious app. Actually as a novice in this field I cann`t understand the word, "permission", You guys please may think this. Any way I`m just sharing my thinking with you. Hope you don`t mind.

Bro, I`m not complaining at all. I just want to share with actually what happened when trying to root with these two apps. Please don`t misunderstand. I don`t have any doubt about either this method or these apps. But I really don`t understand what actually happening. I`ve tried several times with these apps, but if failed every time. I don`t want any prove. I totally believe on you. It would be more helpful if you please send me the steps of rooting. Perhaps I did some thing wrong. Bro, thank you. I`ve done (actually I should say "we`ve done). Thank you once again.
Now my device is rooted. Finally the Root Master has done it. Now root checker app is saying that this device is rooted successfully.
I missed the main criteria for rooting the same with this app. Every time I tried , tried it without Internet connection. That was the one and only reason for not rooting the same. I`ve read your instructions (with screen shots).There you`ve wrote that it needs Internet connection to root.
I follow the steps and finally can do it.

Guys we r back...Many of us find error in mtk droid tools, it was not able to detect gionee m2 u after Kitkat update... like, those who use mtk droid tools have find this after updating to m2
So guys our group has found solution for that...
Step=1
First thing u have to do remove all driver from ur Pc like pda, Google Android and all others related to Android
Now reboot ur Pc and Install planet driver
U can download that from here...

Or u can simply go pdanet.co
Then connect ur phone with Pc with debugging mode and pda net will install driver for ur phone
And then unplug ur phone and Install adb driver...

Now switch off ur phone then connect it... It install some files automatically...
Then restart while connected and now ur phone is detectable by mtk droid tools.. If not then make sure USB debugging is on... And again connect it this time u don't have to reboot...

This is just starting we r coming with lots of mods and tricks...

i don`t use supersu. I will use the default app. The only problem with this app is language and nothing else.

One more question. Should I uninstall the Root Master app, as the device is already rooted ?

Ya sure we will also do that but now there are few major issue yet to be solved with m2.. And yes u can freely Uninstall the root master app.....

Simple, do the same as for every other custom rom. Put your Stock rom on your sdcard and go into recovery(process as usual a full wipe), then install stock rom. You have to install TWRP/Pixel-Recovery again ofc.

Sorted it now . Thanks anyway . I had to delete a few lines of a batch file that was preventing rollback and did it in miflash

Watch this video . I followed the steps but it kept failing to flash .around the 10 min mark he will talk about the anti rollback feature . Follow his steps on deleting the lines in the text file and it worked 1st time for me

I didn't know that as he never said in tutorial . As I won't be installing an other ROMs and everything is working fine would I be ok to leave it as it is or should I download the ROM to my phone and install original ROM over the top via local storage ?

Xiaomi has implemented anti rollback to prevent switching to old builds. Recovery ROMs don't have this safety check but fastboot ROMs do have. Bypassing this might brick the device like many Note 5 pro owners bricked their devices by flashing older recovery rom which bypassed the safety check. If they'd have flashed fastboot rom their devices could have been saved.

I put phone into fastboot mode then flashed with the mi flash tool . Obviously I deleted the text out of the file in the tutorial but as I'm up and running on latest firmware would it be safe to say all is good my end ? . I flashed with a fastboot ROM latest one

Different question: Did you like the custom pixel rom? Is it worth to change it or should stick to stock rom? What issues you found there?

It's a good ROM the pixel ROM . Nothing up with it at all . I just felt I'd keep it stock . I didn't encounter any problems with it. Each to there own as they say . You may love it . Plenty of tutorials on YouTube reviewing it on note 10 pro

Yes, fine. ARB index should either be same or greater. Since it was same you're safe. All's fine. But be sure to check that index before doing this.
