Requirements:
Flashtool 0.9.16 by @Androxyde
XZDualRecovery 2.7.124 BETA or newer.
Current rooted FW version: 17.1.A.0.55 or 17.1.A.0.69.
Special features:
SuperSU integrated in system, FULL ROOT!
XZDualRecovery 2.7.124 BETA (CWM & PhilZ Touch & TWRP) pre-installed;
init.d support (read how to enable)
For both locked and unlocked bootloaders!
In the following guide I suggest you use an external SDCard but that's just good practice, you can use your internal storage or even an USB OTG storage device in TWRP if you like to install, that's no problem!... If you are modding and the likes, best is to have an external sdcard, just for safeties sake.
If you are unable to download torrent files directly, have http://zbigz.com/ do it for you!
How to update to 17.1.1.A.0.402:
Files (Find the files on the DevDB Downloads tab!):
For D6502: Download D6502_17.1.1.A.0.402.flashable.zip (931MB) and D6502_17.1.1.A.0.402_Stripped.ftf (23MB)
For D6503: Download D6503_17.1.1.A.0.402.flashable.zip (912MB) and D6503_17.1.1.A.0.402_Stripped.ftf (22MB)
Save them somewhere you remember;
Put 'D650X_17.1.1.A.0.402.flashable.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
Put 'D650X_17.1.1.A.0.402_Stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
Create a backup of your phone in TWRP and don't forget to backup the contents of 'SDCard' (the internal storage!);
Flash 'D650X_17.1.1.A.0.402.flashable.zip' in TWRP;
NOTE: do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to reboot->power off;
Flash everything in 'D650X_17.1.1.A.0.402_Stripped.ftf' using flashtool;
Reboot to system.
The first boot will be slow and after some time at the boot animation you will see Android start optimizing the apps on your phone.
Enjoy! :laugh:
Known XZDualRecovery Issues:
Busybox Updater/Installer: If you have XZDualRecovery installed, un-install any Busybox updating app/tool as most if not all of them will install a version of busybox which does not support the lzma compression applets XZDualRecovery depends on. The version installed together with XZDualRecovery is very stable and I have yet to hear anyone complain about it's stability.
How to report errors:
Please, before shouting out "It doesn't work!!1!" or "I lost root!" or even "My phone reboots when remounting /system RW!!" try the following:
Restore a .55 or .69 FTF using any means you are familiar with so you can try again.
Root it using any means you are familiar with.
Install XZDualRecovery;
Then try to update again using TWRP.
If it still fails something from there on: LOGS!!.
NOTE: The important ones can be found in /cache/recovery and in /sdcard1/XZDualRecovery, pack them up and send them to me or attach them to your bug report.
Thank you

Just out of curiosity, what's the base FTF for this ROM?

How do I get TWRP to start instead of CWM?

If I'm reading this correctly,
The default on first boot with the boot-to-recovery flag set by any recovery is PhilZ Touch Recovery.
In your XZDualRecovery folder in either /cache or /storage/sdcard1 you will find a file called XZDR.prop. Set dr.default.recovery=cwm to dr.default.recovery=twrp to change the default recovery to TWRP. The button choice however takes precedence, so you can always overrule the default!
You can also change back to 'Vanilla CWM' if you wish by changing dr.vanilla.cwm=false to dr.vanilla.cwm=true in the XZDR.prop file.
Init.d support is disabled by default, set dr.enable.initd to true to enable it.
Insecure ramdisk support is disabled by default, set dr.insecure.ramdisk to true to enable it, set to 'power' to boot it by pressing the power button at boot.

Once you're done with flashing all the files and reboot your phone, you will see a new app installed. That's [NUT]'s app.

UPDATE : Got everything done Thanks
Am on 402 rooted without even touching the bootoader

@[NUT]
OK mate...
Awesome work

Ahh, yes. @[NUT] app is actually in the app drawer, and it's called NDR Utils. The icon is a cute red little devil! The app will let you choose which primary (default?) recovery to use. Also, has a bunch of power menu options.
Now… slightly off topic; will we be seeing a similar XZDR and ROM for the Z2 tablets (particularly the 16GB WiFi/SGP511)?
Again, thanks for the good work, @[NUT]!

Super!!
Fantastic!! Downloading files to downgrade first and then will test this!! Excited and will report back in 3-4 days due to slow bandwidth speeds!

It works! Woohoo!
I'm happy to report that I went through the entire process (downgrade to .55, rooted via Community RootKit, installed dualrecovery, then flashed [NUT]'s files) and I'm on 402 with locked bootloader and everything's working well so far! :good::laugh::highfive:

Guys, AWESOME work...
Being on .402, rooted, TA backed up, locked, seems almost unreal

:FAQs:
Q: Wanna know about Aroma File manager?
Visit the aroma file manager main thread for more info---> Aroma file manager main thread
Aroma file manager is a touch file manager which can be used while in recovery. It has options for copy, paste, delete,
change permissions and many others. Also, it has a Terminal inside. So, if you forgot to give correct permissions to any
file you can do that directly from recovery. This file manager has got many themes, font, icons, etc. options and it's UI
is fully customizable.
Q: How to start this File manager in Recovery?
Rename the downloaded file to 'aromafm.zip'.
Create a folder 'aromafm' inside 'Clockworkmod' folder on your sdcard.
Now, move that 'aromafm.zip' file to the 'aromafm' folder.
We're ready now, when you want to use it in recovery just double tap anywhere OR go to "philz Settings" and select
"Aroma File Manager" and it will start up.
If you also want to browse /data, /system and /sd-ext then mount them in the "mounts & storage" option in recovery.
Q: Problems with Aroma file manager startup?
After doble-tapping OR selecting 'Aroma file Manager' option under 'philz settings' if recovery gives error: 'aromafm.zip
not found at /clockworkmod/aromafm' then, wait for 4-5 seconds and again select 'Aroma file Manager', because it maybe
busy mounting sdcard.
If still doesn't work, you've made mistakes in steps mentioned in first post, please do again carefully.
Q: Does your phone every time reboots to recovery?
This happens very rare when you flash the recovery using any bad app or via any wrong (not proper) method. What you can do
is:
-If you've made a backup of your current ROM then just restore only it's "boot" and then select 'reboot to system'.
OR
-You don't have a backup? Then just flash the ROM which you are using currently again and wipe 'dalvik-cache'. Then reboot
to system. Booting process will take time.
NEW: Now you can enjoy the full version of the recovery! Thanks to @Phil3759 for uploading necessary commits for armv6. And, everything is expected to be bug-free. Please report the bug here if you find any.
GALAXY MINI GOES OFFICIAL NOW!!!!!!
You'll now find Galaxy Mini in the officially supported devices list at the Main thread.

You mean, you are always rebooting to recovery and not to your rom?
If so, it is a problem of your device configuration by your device developer because this happens also in Jenkins recovery. This is not a fault of my recovery.
Now, you can restore boot of a backup (if you made any) or you can install your current rom again and wipe dalvik cache and you'll be back normal.
But i have renamed the zip and it does not work.And i tried another ROM but it all ways reboots to recovery.
Can someone else confirm that it always reboot to recovery even after re-installing a rom?

I confirm it. I even flashed another ROM and it still reboots to recovery instead of system.
Aroma FM works, but there is something I noticed: If you tap internal sd or external sd, they are empty, you have to go to storage/sdcard00 to get to your sd card. Can you somehow link the external sd to the sd card?
Thanks everyone for reporting....
I'll try to fix this when I get time...
ast00,
Internal sd and External sd will be empty because they are kept there for devices having two different memories. There should be an option: sdcard directly on the root directory. Please see carefully.
Good news:
My friend @chraso gave me hint about the problem. There was a very small problem with tags, I'll be fixing and making updated recovery today/tomorrow. Will also update recovery sources.
First post updated with newer version, v6.22.1 (18.03.2014) and also made changes so that you can boot into ROM after installing it. Hope it's fixed.
Also added some FAQs.
Please post back the Results after using it.
Please give feedback on swipe-touch. Is right/left swipe working? And please post your opinion on the poll above, whether you like swipe touch or it just makes things complex or you just don't like it.

Which ROM are you installing?
Is the install successful?
What procedure you follow? This is important, please tell me. Do you use 'wipe to install a new rom'?
Does not work for me either, it reboots to recovery and i noticed that to make aroma work i must first install the zip from recovery and then it works OK .
not that

Bro,
please read FAQs, this is a problem of your device sources. For solution, see FAQs.
After that, please give me broader report.
You di not ask the right question:
Does this work for someone , anyone please confirm.

Which screen do You mean ? Because there's four screens in this image. But is irrelevant which theme You use. This is standard menus.

This message appears in many ROMS after incomplete/not exactly installation. I think (but not sure) that is custom storage problem.
I had this message two times in the past with others ROMS. I always had to reinstall ROM after exactly wiping custom storage.
Another way is to flashing custom storage (original) by Fastboot. It was always resolving this issue for me.
How???

Hm... on my device it work perfectly. Do you updated ROM or clean installed ?
If updated did you wipe dalvik cache and cache by recover?
Did you clean cache by Phone manager ?
If you still have a problem than:
Use Root Explorer and remove/delete MixLol.hwt from rot\system\themes folder and restart and clean cache by Phone manager.
Maybe You have doubled theme "MixLol.hwt" ? One on SD card and the second in system folder because in this version I installed this theme as official (inside system)

[Recovery] Official TWRP for Galaxy S6 edge (3.0.2-0)

Team Win Recovery Project 3.0.2-1
WARNING #1: Flashing a custom recovery to your device will trip the Knox warranty bit on your phone. Check with your mobile provider to see if they will still cover warranty on Knox bit triggered devices. If you understand this risk, continue on.
You generally don't have to worry, as it's incredibly hard to brick a Samsung device, and physical damage warranties should be exempt from Knox triggering.
WARNING #2: The Galaxy S6 edge (6.0+) stock boot image has dm-verity, which prevents you from booting if you swipe to enable system modifications!
SOLUTION: Flash a root such as SuperSU or phh-superuser. You can also flash no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip.
WHAT IS TWRP?
Oh come on, you know what it is - don't try to fool me!
In case you're serious, though...
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.
DOWNLOAD
You can find the device page here:
http://teamw.in/devices/samsunggalaxys6edge.html
There is a download link there, as well as instructions on how to flash it.
I highly recommend using Odin to flash when possible.
You can find a zip containing Odin as well as a link to Samsung's Mobile drivers page here:
https://idlekernel.com/flash-tools/
FULL STEPS FOR ROOTING YOUR DEVICE
In your ROM, go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now go to Settings -> Developer options. (above About device)
You need to enable OEM unlock, otherwise you might end up with boot problems or be unable to flash later on.
Extract Odin_3.10.7.zip to your computer.
Install Samsung Mobile Phone Drivers for Odin to find your device.
Download a .tar image of TWRP for your device variant.
Reboot your device into Download mode. To do this, select reboot from the power menu and hold the [Volume Down] + [Home] + [Power] buttons while your device reboots.
Once you reach the Download mode warning screen, press [Volume Up] to continue.
Open Odin and place that TWRP tar file in the [AP] slot without touching any other options, then press [Start].
Hold [Volume Up] + [Home] + [Power] buttons near the end of the flash, and keep holding them until you are in recovery.
At this point, you will reach the screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow step 12 you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device and follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
Only if you want your internal storage or data partition to work in TWRP:
Go to [Wipe] -> [Format Data] (not advanced wipe) -> type "yes".
WARNING: This will wipe your internal storage, disable encryption, and factory reset your phone!
Go to [Reboot] -> [Recovery].
If you only want a bootable system partition or readable data in TWRP:
Download dm-verity and force encryption disabler.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
** If your internal storage is encrypted, you will need to use adb sideload instead.
Go to [Reboot] -> [System].
Wait up to 5 minutes for your device to finish setting itself up.
* MTP, known as Media Transfer Protocol, is the same way you transfer files from your PC to your device when booted into system.

there won't be a marshmallow G925W8 or G925T build until kernel sources are released. afaik neither of those devices have 6.0 officially yet.
they will still be using lollipop at 3.0.2-0 for now.
for others:
https://idlekernel.com/twrp/zerolte see 3.0.2-1, should be built soon on official, whenever someone confirms that everything is working ok
this includes:
adb shell
brightness slider
installing zips
formatting partitions (as ext4 and f2fs)
not crashing
backup & restore works for each partition
mtp
vibration
otg storage
whatever else you can think of checking
check on both L and M bootloaders, preferably quote my list with Y(working)/N(not working) in front of issues, and give recovery.log
I have successfully flashed the latest twrp. Though I had issues with the older one in backup restore area. Does the new do up backup and restore without error?

Twrp 3.0.2 with arter97 kernel. Working flawlessly in my g925i.
This is making me crazy , is there any suport here ? Links not working , where from to dl the 3.0.2-1 ver for g925i ?
OEM Unlock ??
I can't find it in my Developper Menu. I have 6.0.1 !
Help please...
Anyone found a working link for the recovery file?
Questions about TWRP versions found over some threads
I would like to know some things. Firstly say there's still nothing when you open http://teamw.in/devices/samsunggalaxys6edge.html
so, i looked up the link you gave
https://idlekernel.com/twrp/zerolte
but if I don't remember wrong, zerolte is S6 flat.
Does that kernel work anyway?
If that's so, does that mean official http://teamw.in/devices/samsunggalaxys6.html or TWRP S6 Edge Europe Version would also work?
Why wouldn't they?
Also, what's the difference with the twrp from @arter97 found Here
with yours?
Thanks!!
I hope someone could shed some light over those questions.
Sorry for my bad english!
Nobody is answering from them here , 0 suport . Kernel from arter97 and twrp recovery from him work fine .

See my above post.
Alright, this is what I did for my S6 Edge 925F which works fine so I thought I would share it with you guys:
I flashed the latest TWRP using ODIN from this link:
http://www.arter97.com/browse/S6/ke...r97-recovery-g925fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar.md5
which is the same link given at the bottom of this post along with the instructions as well:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60390986&postcount=5
After rebooting the phone (which looped a couple of times), I flashed the latest SuperSU 2.71 (Beta) from ChainFire in the newly flashed TWRP which is given here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053
And now I have TWRP with SuperSU. I need to mention that I rooted my phone with CF-Auto root previously so it was already rooted, but I just wanted to have custom recovery for flashing other .zip files.
I also tried the latest stable version of SuperSU first, but it had problems finding and installing binaries. But there are no problems with the latest Beta (2.71) so far.

Hello,
I tested the package, unfortunately after the flash and first boot impossible to return under android.
If I remember correctly there was a problem of mount point.
To get out I had to flasher the recovery and system partitions of the original rom.
Having to reset my phone I have no log, but if you need anything else do not hesitate.

Can anyone here give a quick tutorial ? Thanks
New Version (3.1.1-1) available - You can find more infos in OP.
This release fixes partition mounting on emmc 5.1 based devices
Source code is now also up and can be built!

Wow that was faster than I could learn to do it.
Great job. May I ask how you got the important informations to build this?
Did you inject su into the image to gain root and then read all the detailed data through terminal or adb or root file explorer?
Just asking cause i train my brain more and more in my spare time and want to get behind the knowledge base to learn. :good:
First of all thank you for your work, I got the Recovery, root, Magisk, etc. running.
I have 2 Questions:
1. the internal storage when I boot to the recovery looks like enrypted (lots of random named folders). Is it possible to decrypt it for now, since there is currently no custom kernel available?
2. Can I flash the Firmware update to 130b in TWRP? If yes, wich package do I need to choose?
Cheers
Would this work on the Chinese V9 variant?

First of all thank you for your work, I got the Recovery, root, Magisk, etc. running.
I have 2 Questions:
1. the internal storage when I boot to the recovery looks like enrypted (lots of random named folders). Is it possible to decrypt it for now, since there is currently no custom kernel available?
2. Can I flash the Firmware update to 130b in TWRP? If yes, wich package do IP need to choose?
Cheers

After testing, formatting the whole internal storage does not work.
To restart the partition is new encrypt

Yes it should work. Just make sure that both backup and restore destinations are either both encrypted or both decrypted.
