[APK] Deodexed Nexus 4.4.2 System Apps - LG Optimus L90

Hi! I did this for my previous phone, the LG Optimus L9 P769. Basically, I downloaded the deodexed stock 4.4.2 Nexus rom and pulled the system apps.
1) Make sure you're rooted.
2) Install a root file explorer.
3) This is optional. Backup the original system apps that you plan on replacing.
4) Use a root uninstaller to remove the system apps that you plan on replacing. DON'T REMOVE THE DIALER OR LGSYSTEMUI!!! If you do remove them, don't blame me because I warned you...lol.
5) Copy the Nexus apks over to system/priv-app and change permissions to rw-r--r-- and reboot
I'm not responsible if you decide to remove everything in the system/priv-app folder and turn your phone into a brick!

Thanks!

Any chance to pull the Nexus Camera app plz?
I hate the CM11 camera. Such poor quality compared to LG camera.

Basing on fact none of custom apps fix that quality, I highly doubt stock app from different phone would make it. But I ain't expert, ya know

I think it doesn't work like that, I've previously erased my camera app from the stock froyo ROM, then I tried to install it again and wont install, even the backup didnt work.

well....u cannot use the LGHome as a standalone. it has dependencies.
as of the camera problem, it is strange!!!...btw, hope u placed it in /system/app and changed the permission 2 644, then rebooted. also, u should have both the .apk and the .odex file replaced with 644 permission. it SHOULD have worked.

This works if you *do not* uninstall the old camera first. If you remove it via Titanium Backup (like he most likely did), it won't work. Putting the file back in place won't help at all, and you need to reflash the rom to get the camera back. Simply replacing the file is a different matter, and this would in fact work.
No to reinstall the camara to just copy it back to sys/app folder mount and install using root explorer.
As for the lghome if you could just post it anyway id appreciate it.

[Q] How to install an apk into system/app?

I am using rooted JVU firmware and would like to install ICS keyboard to my system/app.
I used Root Explorer to copy the apk file into the directory and did a reboot, and the keyboard appeared on my locale and text menu.
However, when I try to select the keyboard, it always return a force close.
Can anybody teach me on how to solve this issue?
There is a thread called "How to: Push apps(.apk)" - you will have to try to use the search function for that name cause I don't think I can post a link yet

I did the search and tried the way as taught, end up having the force close issue.
Is it that not all apk can be installed onto system/app?

You can also try an app called "system cleanup". I'm not sure if it's on the market but there is a thread where you can dl it or you could use titanium pro

Ics keyboard is made to work on android 4.0.x framework ported from Nexus S, ok?
As you revealed in OP you are using Sammy JVU 2.3.6 TouchWiz infected framework.
Why not try to rip out HTC keyboard and push that too while you're in the mood?
When you push an ask to system/app am I write in saying it does not deleted in factory reset..??
What about pushing to system system/media..??
When pushing an apk to system folder,u need root and there is 2 easy ways, either use a root explorer and just push it to the system/app folder or use titanium backup to revert to system app.factory reset(full wipe) doesn't wipe system apk,but everthing else is wiped..
U can also push apk to system via ADB.but a little bit of knowledge is needed

CM file manager

Hey guys.
Any thoughts or opinions about the new file manager in cm ?
I really like it.the root acces is good But it lacks a dark theme and some rotation enabled.
Also was wondering if i could use it on a non cm rom ? Maybe backup with tb ?
Ps: holy crap! You cant copy files to another folder ... you can create copy but you cant move it ? Wtf ?
Solid explorer still beats it.
I heard it can access root folders but can't open archive/zip files. The latter is a deal breaker for me. Still it's a good start

Well working on BAKED-crespo 6. Just copied to /system/app. Set permissions to rw-r--r--. Reboot and done. Well so far does whatever I want. For sure will see updates.
I'm curious because i can do everything that everyone above is claiming they can't. Hmph...

I remove it every time I update a nightly on my phone. It's probably the worst thing I've ever seen. It looks like something written for X Windows 10 years ago. The interface, design and functionality is about as basic as you get.. CM team should stick to providing stablilty and integrated options into Android and not apps that there are already 1000 better choices of.

This was the first thing that I needed to do with a file manager with my latest install. I also found this to be a huge place where this file manager is lacking. Sticking with Root Explorer for now (I already bought it, might as well keep it).
Have it installed from my latest CM10 nightly, but would really like to be able to do a MD5 checksum on it, because I always like to do this for ZIPs before flashing, just in case. Don't know how easy / feasible / possible that would be, but would be nice.
I like the interface apart from that access time sucks.... As someone mentioned solid explorer which looks similar performs a lot better.

Yes you can! Select the file you want to move (tick the box) and then go to the location where you want it pasted. Then press the button on the bottom left, and select 'Move selection here'.
Better use root explorer

Thats what im looking for i pushed it to device/system/app and changed the permissions to rw rw r and it wouldnt install, the widget installs but not the app. when i removed it there was 3 files.?
Edit when i click the widget it fc's touchwiz
I had trouble restoring some MI9 system backups to MJ5. When I tried to restore them via TB, the process would just hang or say "The app is from a different ROM version..." or something like that. Maybe the problem you are having is because the apk is from a different build then the one you are running.
a good point was made i need the ones from the MJ5

I would if I could, but I'm back on MI9 (warrantied my first N3 and they shipped me one with MI9).
If your rooted, maybe you can flash an MJ5 Rom (that hasn't been debloated) w/SS and backup the apk from it. Flash back to your stock nandroid and install the backup apk.
im thinking i need the Odex file for both

Hot Spot fix

Is there a hot spot provisioning fix for kK 4.4.2 as there was for JB 4.2.2 for us folks with unl data? You know where u swap 2 files after rooting. Not really interested in custom rom.

The file is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52007494&postcount=251
1. Download and rename the file to HotspotProvision.apk and place it on your phone.
2. Use a file explorer that can write to system folders Root Explorer (paid app) or X-Plore (free app) and navigate to /system/app/
3. Rename the original HotspotProvision.apk and HotspotProvision.odex
4. Copy the file from step 1 to /system/app/
5. Set permissions to 644
6. Reboot device
7. Profit
