Any G3 based Roms yet? - Verizon LG G2

I just went through a bunch of posts and I am not seeing any Stock G3 ports yet. Has the firmware just not been released yet?

Look in lg-g2 android development section, there are several g3 ports for "all variants"

I use CloudyG3. Absolutely love it!

xdabebb is supposedly putting together a ported g3 rom for the g2 based of the Verizon G3. There is no eta but he stated that he should have one available in the coming weeks.

I just upgraded to LG G3 from the G2 with cloudyG3 installed and still thinking in going back to the G2. Cloudy is so smooth in the [email protected] that it i unbelievable. Only thing that prevents me to go back is the SD card slot of the G3 otherwise G2 with Cloudy G3 best smartphone out there and I have had them almost all.

So CloudyG3 works with our Verizon G2? The thread there says only GSM phones are supported.

This is what I was referring to with my question earlier. I am looking for something that is Verizon based. Hopefully in the near future.

Cloudy does work on a verizon g2. I'm using tmobile on one right now and it works perfectly

T-Mobile is GSM, that's why there's no issue with your MMS. It's a Verizon phone, but you're running a GSM network on it, not CDMA.

Both g3 ports that are gsm based work pretty rough on Verizon. I was roaming most of the day.

I had some signal issues when I was using cloudy G3, sometimes I'd lose service completely for about 30 seconds then it would come back.

Used to work on my GS3. Then I got an LG G2 and the app doesn't seem to recognize that I'm a Verizon customer. I've got this up on the Verizon forum as well, and I'll I've got back is a super uber helpful response of "it works on my LG Lucid". Thanks, that totally fixed my problem that it works on YOUR phone.
I hope you get some sort of answer because I'm stuck as well.
I have the same issue on the stock ROM. I used the live streaming audio feature on my old Nexus LTE phone but when I've never been able to get it to work on the LG G2.

[Q] Mahdi??

I'm glad you asked this question. I had wondered the same thing. Now I've discovered a whole new area to explore. I had no clue there was development for all variants in a different thread.[emoji2]

I didn't either, and apparently, Mahdi is the most popular G2 ROM currently available. Not to mention, it was recently updated on 6/11.

Because dr87 is the best developer on here for us. Fact ? I've been running it since the first build in January. So awesome. He's pumped so much source from the N5 into this ROM, its incredible. Stability and performance is second to none.
I installed it but my wireless charging did not work so I uninstalled it. Anybody knows about a fix?
Is see its available for Verizon correct

Does the inductive wireless charging works in your Verizon G2 with this ROM?
I don't use the wireless charging, but I heard people say it does.

Would the G2 be a worthwhile upgrade from a BL locked Note 2?

So this weekend at least, the G2 is showing up as free for 2 yr upgrades, and I have a spare upgrade on my account I can use. I currently have a bootloader locked Note 2, running safestrap recovery, using a custom TouchWiz ROM. (no AOSP unfortunately for safestrap on the n2 )
I am wondering what the G2 community thinks about upgrading to this phone from a Note 2. Camera wise the G2 looks far better. The screen and battery are only slightly smaller, so I don't feel that is an issue, but how is it, nuts and bolts wise? Signal, reliability, etc. I see some GPS issues which may be of concern, and I am slightly unsure of the bootloader issue. I would prefer to unlock, root, and install what I please, and I *think* what I found is that you can push an older, unlocked bootloader to the latest update? Is that correct?
Anything else you can tell me that may help?
Thanks in advance
I came from a BL unlocked N2 and personally I love my G2. I had no issues rooting or unlocking the BL and I was running 24A. I would hands down go with the G2 if you are looking to upgrade but if you could wait and spend 200 then I would go with the G3 that troops in 2 weeks. Just my opinion.

No I have no interest in spending $200. I like spending free.
Am I correct that the bootloader on the G2 is easily unlocked still? Is 24A the latest update then?

Bootloader can't be unlocked but the devs have found a work around that allows you to flash away!

The Freedom Tool is to get a custom recovery in this bad boy. I know one can use autorec to get a recovery, but I've read good and bad about it. I used Freedom for the recovery and ioroot25 to root.
Here's what I understand about flashing: if you're already running 24A from the official ota, then root/recovery, you can flash away (as long as the ROM is based on 24A, some are not). If you root on a 12B or 11A (I think) then you have to go and flash another zip prior to a ROM to get the 24A baseband.
I haven't flashed a custom rom so don't know about how they run. 2 reasons:
1) I feel LG did a great job with stock and with xposed, can do almost anything that a custom offers.
2) There are instances of screens being jacked up after a flash. Read through the development section and there's a dedicated thread that reports the issue. I realize warranty will cover a replacement but I'm too lazy to deal with that hassle.

Well I did order one, so ill give it a go. Ill definitely check into the screen issue as that is a bit concerning. As long as I have root and recovery I'll be good. Seems odd that flashing a ROM would have an effect on the screen but well see. Thanks for the info

Came from a note 2 as well. G2 is much better. Honestly the note 2 was annoyingly bulky. Camera is better on the g2, signal is similar, screen resolution is MUCH better, it doesn't lag like TW. Good upgrade.

Enabling VoLTE

Tried both Google and the search on xda but have yet to see an answer to this. I updated to 26a and am looking for the option to enable VoLTE but can't find it in call settings. After enabling the feature on Verizon website, does it take a bit to hit the phone? Does one need to have the MyVerizon app to enable (I hope not)? Any help would be awesome! (yes I am rooted and custom recovery. My wife's G2 is neither but she doesn't have the option either)

Same here with Verizon apps, useless. Thanks again for helping, I was getting frustrated with Google.
I am using a range extender from Verizon and the Volte is not playing well with it. Very poor call quality due to some type of conflict. Verizon tech did not help. Finally turned off high def voice and hopefully solved problem. Just posted FYI

Calling Verizon tech support isn't usually anything more than a waste of time and an exercise in extreme self control and patience.

[Q] Moto X Pure Edition on Cricket w/ LTE?

I've seen similar posts to this, but none with any kind of solid answer so far. I have a chance to get a XT1095 for pretty cheap tomorrow and would like a clear answer to the question of it not only working on Cricket and also get LTE? If not will it work on HSPA? Thx in advance, I'm kind of confused by all this and would love to hear from somebody that has or had this particular model on Cricket. I'm coming from a Nexus 5 which was just plug n play with my Cricket SIM so that's what has me a bit lost here.
You shouldn't have any problems with it. I see they have a GSM sim. As long as that's the one you have you should get LTE.

Yeah the guy had it on T-Mobile so its definitely GSM compatible. I'm mostly just wondering about getting the LTE/data to work. I saw an article online that said the XT1095 had less bands than the other variants. Either way thanks for replying so quickly!
I also read though that Motorola was planning on adding the missing bands via update but can't find if that update was already pushed or not.
The band issue was with kit kat it has been updated with 5.0 and 5.1. You should get LTE and if you don't it will probably be because you have to set up the APN yourself which is easy.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
Now that's exactly what I was wanting to know, TY! I'm very familiar with how to change APN's so it looks like I'm good to go!
I'm using my XT 1095 on cricket and I'm very pleased. It is LTE compatible but be advised to use the APN settings on cricket website. As long as you are aware of crickets speed limitations, you will be pleased.
