White Diamond.

Me not, the front is black!!
greets doena
I agree, that black front is awful. Still, at least it meant they didn't have to change the TF3D theme.
It's an utter gimmick, attempting to copy another product in shoddy, half-arsed, cheapo fashion. Not unlike TF3D and the rest of their software, I would say.
I was not aware of the 2 colors, if it would of been white all over thats nice!
Looks nice but I think I will stick with a black one.

Nexus One Design

I just wanted to know what everyone's opinions on the Nexus One design is... personally, I love the phone and its functions but I can't seem to get past its design (especially the back) and the dual color scheme.
Am I the only person who feel this way?
I currently have an all-black slider case covering the entire phone from the back and that seems to make it look more "professional."
i really like the design, I like the color scheme and the feel, it feels heavy and sturdy. I really liked my MT3G and I was hoping for the same type of thing but bigger and generally speaking i think i got that. I like the screen's look (not the fact that its old and kind of sucks) and the dedicated buttons on the bottom, i even think its looks good from the side, and "Google" on the back is nice too.
The color scheme is a bit unusual but I think it looks really good. Of course, I know whats inside so maybe that makes the outside look awesome to me.
The one thing is the trackball, after seeing optical trackpads i think those look better but ive never used one so i couldnt say for sure.
sorry for all the gushing i guess i just dont have much bad to say about the form, and after froyo (and knowing the official version will be even smoother), i dont really have much to complain about software-wise either ( except the god-awful copy and paste)
I love the design.
Yeah, I am completely opposite. I know some people absolutely hate the trackball but I love it, especially when it lights up and breathes; definitely good eye candy. But the dual color scheme and that huge camera lens cover is... meh IMO.
So I guess I am the only one then. :S
Like the design but not the colors....black/grey or black/silver would be cool or white/grey.
I absolutely love the design. It's near perfect for me, the colors, build quality, solid materials. It's literally the nicest phone I think I've had imo. When I play with an incredible it really reinforces this.
And the track ball too, I'm one of the few who like and prefer the track ball, use it for web browsing all the time. Try using the optical track pad on the incredible for selecting links, then come back to the trackball and see how much easier and faster the trackball is over the track pad.
my opinion:
too slippery specially with the power button on the upper left. (i've had a couple of close calls)
other than that, money!
I absolutely love the design -- with a full-body BSE skin on it! It makes it look glossy gun-metal, very awesome. Pics in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5502896&postcount=94
I like the design alot. The metal is awsome, but if it could be swwpped for different colors that would be better IMO.
I decided to get the N1 over the desire primarily on the fact it has a trackball. I love the color notifications.
This sounds really sad, but I was doing a self mirror shot with the phone, which is when I realized how bad the phone looks from the rear (in my opinion, of course). I love the phone from the front though!

Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. She had an ugly butt, however from the front she was awesome.
The design is serious, this is no kids phone. Design is correct with dark colors.. spot on professional looking. Fair enough to me.
It's a great design/colour scheme if you ask me. Goes together well.
For those who don't like the stock color scheme:
http://www.colorwarepc.com/p-216-nexus-one.aspx
The configurator seems broken, though - I was unable to change the primary frame color (there was a button to select it, but when I chose a color it would just change the last item I had selected before that). :-(

Btw: site worked great on froyo

really?
I don't really look at the back. I have a silicon case anyway. the screen, CPU and speed are the high points. I really don't like how small it is, and slippery.
so long as a skin is on it its great. I have no complaints about the color scheme.
I love it. Best phone ever.
It's surprisingly durable too without any kind of protection unlike my iPhone was.
i personally dont care too much for design (as long as its fairly compact) since i put a case on it
but if i wasnt using a case i actually like the hard edges of the HD2 and iphone 4G more

Nexus 5 Review from an owner of every Nexus

I don't usually post on here but really wanted to share my opinions on the N5 as a Nexus enthusiast. Before I start I'd like to point out that on top of owning all of the previous Nexuses, I was trained as an industrial designer and currently work at a tech company doing software UX design, so I cover it in depth from both points of view. I've also never flashed a custom ROM and have always used my Nexus as a regular consumer would, so bear that in mind as I cover the software. Oh and apologies in advance for the length.
Hardware
The Nexus 5 hardware is excellent. It's the most refined and understated industrial design of any Nexus so far. Nothing is arbitrary; for once there are no egregious lines or curves. There's no more 'hump' on the bottom like the Samsung Nexus'. There's no glittery back like the Nexus 4. It's similar to the Xperia Z1 and iPhone 4 in its strive for simplicity. Even the controversial camera lens serves a purpose- you can almost always feel when you have a finger on it, preventing photos with a blurry pink intruder.
The build quality is also a new high point for the Nexus series. Even though the Nexus One was made out of metal, HTC hardware hadn't matured to where it is now with the HTC One, and there were imperfections in the machining and fitment. The Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus were typical Samsung with large gaps between the screen and bezel-that were prone to collecting dust and debris. The Galaxy Nexus also had visible witness lines (where the tool separates in the injection molding process) along the sides. The Nexus 4 was well-built, but its construction with the chrome bezel felt outdated and harkened back to iPhone 3G days.
The Nexus 5 features some amazing tolerances between the screen and bezel, too small to let dust in, and resulting in a very precise feel when you run your finger over the edge of the glass. The parting line between the back panel and the bezel possesses this same level of precision. The Nexus and LG logos on the back are more than meet the eye- upon close inspection there is actually a reflective plastic layer inlay inside the debossed characters- probably what Matias Duarte was referring to when he mentioned in an interview that the casing goes through several post-processes, including 'lasers'. I'm guessing the reflective inlays are laser cut and then glued into the deboss.
The only hardware letdown are the power and volume buttons. In theory they should be great; the button themselves have a precise, machined feel to them and you can actually see the layers of ceramic when light reflects off them. The issue is the way they are attached to the phone- they move around a bit within their housings, something I haven't felt since the Nexus S. There's also a bit of backlight that leaks around the edges of the display, only visible when you're looking at the display from the side.
The camera is better than the Nexus 4, and that's good enough for me. I've always felt that smartphone cameras are what you make of them, and the Nexus 5 gives me a lot more to work with. I've taken some incredible shots with even the Galaxy Nexus camera, and if you know how to steady a camera and work with exposure, the Nexus 5 can take great photos. That said, iPhone cameras have an amazing ability to make anyone's haphazard shots turn out great, and sadly the Nexus 5's camera can't compete in that regard.
Software
On the software side, KitKat is a great update that really lets apps shine. From a design perspective, it makes sense that they got rid of 'Holo Blue' in the system UI, because it really did clash with some of the looks developers were trying to achieve in their apps. The full-screen 'immersive mode' is great, but the black gradients at the top and bottom really bother me. It looks like the edges of the screen are burnt, especially when there's a light background like in Google Now. In a DevBytes video on Youtube Roman Nurik said something like "in this iteration it's a gradient", which suggests to me that this was a controversial decision and leaves some hope that these horrendous gradients will be fixed in a future release. I think the transparent bars really lends itself to some apps with full-bleed views like Maps though, and I can't wait for an update that enables them.
The new dialer adds a lot of utility; I've only used it for a couple days but it seems like it will get smarter in time as it learns who I contact the most. So far it looks like it's going to make the People app obsolete for me.
That said, some changes may be hard to swallow for Android enthusiasts. One of the things I missed the most is the network activity indicators for Wifi and network in the status bar (those little up and down arrows), as well as the blue color that showed you were connected to Google's servers. The indicators still exist, but they now live in the quick settings in the notifications shade. I'll miss being in an app and seeing whether or not it was accessing the network just by glancing at the top right corner of the screen.
The fact that Google Now is a swipe away from your homescreen is nice, but not entirely necessary- it was a swipe away anyway, by pulling up from the home button. The fact that Google Now is on the left also means that your homescreen is the leftmost one, and the ability to have screens on the left and right of the homescreen (present since the beginning of Android) is now gone. I used to keep my widgets on the left and apps on the right of my homescreen so this is a big change. This is slightly abated by the fact that you can long press to zoom out, and then fly through all of your screens, but for some infuriating reason, it doesn't select the screen I want on a single tap- I have to press it twice. This may be the first time since Gingerbread that I'll use a custom launcher.
Hangouts and SMS integration should be great in theory, but in practice it's a mess. SMS and hangout threads are actually separated and not blended into one conversation, and if you're using multiple accounts it gets even more complicated because you'll now have two separate inboxes.
Overall the hardware is a great upgrade from the Nexus 4, and is definitely the best looking Nexus so far. The software has some great additions to increase usability, but also has some omissions that Android enthusiasts know and love. As we all know, Android is a very iterative piece of software; I'm just wondering whether my expectations based on advancements in the user experience of previous iterations has left me disappointed in KitKat's subtle improvements.
Odd and Ends
Yes, the display is fantastic
So far, the battery seems better than my Nexus 4
The Snapdragon 800 is a beast
So how's the touch response? Since the Nexus S: it's gotten progressively worse. What's the average Prs and Size values?
Nice review. :good:
Isn't it possible any more to configure which elements are in the notification bar (e.g. "location")?
Nice review!
great review, thanks.
Your review sounds very fanboy-ish...well I guess it's kind of expected from a nexus enthusiast.

To my knowledge you could never customize what appears on the right side of the notification bar in stock Android.
I never ever ever ever ever been a fan of stock android but kitkat paired with an S800 is so smooth and fast that I'm in love with this nexus 5. And battery life is actually quite good for me. Easily lasts me a day.

Which color Mate 10/ pro are you buying ?

Cast your vote.
You might have more than one favorite, but vote for the one you are actually getting.
PS: Attached pic only indicative. Colors might vary in different real life images.
I'm still not sure if i will get the pixel 2 xl or mate 10 pro but if i go for mate 10 pro than titanium grey.
I just shortly checked out the Mate 10 Occidental black and Mocha brown at Huawei store. Until then i was preferring the Mocha brown but in real life its much harder to pick a favorite from these two. The mocha brown looks distinct and eye catchy in the back with a wide array of colors reflecting at different angles while still looking premium and business class without getting too much funky. However on the front, i was feeling it wasn't dark enough for my taste and sometimes felt more like a typical gold color phone we always seen and not the bronzish mocha brown.
The front of the Occidental black instead looked quite dope camouflaging the whole bezels with the front fingerprint and screen (when turned off). The back looked quite nice as well but its not the type of color you can quickly distinguish from a distant (from the color of Note 8 for example) and get noticed.
Before I recieved the mocha brown as press unit, I was hoping for the blue one, as i really loved the dazzling blue P10.
But I really like the mocha brown now! Wouldn't trade it for a diff color!

Mocha...
I got the champagne gold (but it looks silver to my eyes...)
I have Mocha Brown, and I had doubts before, but am happy with it. Thought about titanium, but I think Mocha gives better mood, and I use this superphone with included transparent cover, so back is not so shiny with case.
Blue.. Nice.

OnePlus 7 Pro Colours Comparison

Fellow members I thought I would make a video comparing the 3 different colours of the OnePlus 7 Pro to help anyone thinking about buying one. YOU CAN WATCH THE VIDEO HERE: https://youtu.be/2JPEeabpShc
Please take the time to read below as it may save you time instead of having to watch the entire video. I was lucky enough to attend the OnePlus Launch and get hands on with every colour option available of the OnePlus 7 Pro, so today I will be comparing the different colours of the OnePlus 7 Pro to help you decide which one you should buy.
First off lets tackle the most subtle and underrated option, the Mirror Gray, in my honest opinion I really really like this option because in person it looks much better than on camera. The Gray back glass has a deep lustre which shifts from almost black to a smoky gray which slightly bends the light subtly, It is a very glossy finish as expected which is the usual you find with glass backed devices. The metal frame sandwiched inbetween the screen and the back panel is also glossy and is finished in a almost dark chrome which looks very classy and sleek and the antenna bands are in a dark gray colour almost gunmetal like. The Mirror Gray is the choice for anyone looking for understated, classy and subtle in my honest opinion and comes in either the 6 or 8GB RAM variants but not the 12gb version.
The next colour option is the most popular, the Nebula Blue, this is probably the most eye catching of the colours. The back has a 2 tone colour gradient which starts off a lighter blue that graduates up to a dark almost black blue. The finish unlike the Mirror Gray is a matte texture meaning its not glossy but instead more like a satin finish which doesn’t show fingerprints like the glossy glass finishes of most other smartphones. It also gives the back an almost laser like effect the way it reflects the light and bends the blue undertone. Personally this is my favourite colour option but be aware that the finish I find to be more slippery than glossy counterparts. The frame is also a 2 tone finish, at the bottom it starts off with a light blue chrome looking finish, very shiny and reflective. But as the frame rises up towards the top of the OnePlus 7 Pro it becomes much darker, almost black and it is very subtle the way it has been achieved. This colour option only comes in the 8 or 12GB RAM versions and also the OnePlus 5g model.
On to the final colour option for the OnePlus 7 Pro, the Almond, Again like the mirror gray this one has a glossy shiny back. I would say it almost looks the same as the gold iPhone XS Max but this is lighter in colour a kind of beige tone but when you move it in certain lights it shows a subtle pearlescent almost ivory colour which is beautiful. Being a lighter tone ensures fingerprints are less likely to be visible and it is a real stunner, the metal frame is finished in a glossy gold colour which looks like a much richer tone than the glass back. It really does add the finishing touch to the overall colour of the phone by giving it a rich complimentary framing tone. Definitely a different option compared to previous OnePlus devices and worthy of your consideration. Be aware this colour is only available in one variant of 8GB RAM and 256gb of storage.
