Project Details
'(b)orn (a)gain (s)imon with (h)ands', or 'bash' for short, is a watchapp game for the Pebble inspired by Simon the game.
Basically, the objective of the game is to input the sequence of commands shown on the screen of your Pebble. You start off with one command and after every successful round, 1 or 2 commands are added to the sequence. Commands include pressing one or a combination of the three buttons on the Pebble, and a "shake!" command (hence the 'h' in bash).
If you are looking for a short game (or long, if you have great memory) on the go, or feel like testing your memory, you might want to try out this watchapp

Progress History
8/14 - Posted some screenshots, and just spending some time on design
8/17 - Currently have the menu screen so far. Unfortunately, I will be gone for the next 3 days, so my timeline will be delayed a little (which should not be a problem).
...
9/05 - Currently posted some screenshots and the .pbw. I will later come home and upload it to the Pebble app store.

Hello guys,
Sorry that I've been away since... the beginning of the competition but I'm here on the last day to report on what has been finished / not finished.
Basically, the game is done however multiple difficulty levels (and therefore multiple scores) have not been implemented yet.
Although they won't be made in time for the competition, I do have plans to complete / continue to work on this game after the competition
Currently, I posted some screens, along with the .pbw file for anybody that would like to try.
After coming home from work later in the day, I will finalize everything in terms of submitting to the Pebble app store and getting my GitHub linked here.
Edit: If you do try out the watchapp, remember to wait until you feel a little vibration (for the shake commands) indicating that the shake was registered. Otherwise you'll lose!
I realized how much battery the vibration would use... hence, I will display the vibration status on the screen instead
-Joseph
PS. Best of luck to everybody

Initial release
The purpose of the game is to complete as many lines as possible. You can move, rotate (clockwise or anticlockwise) and force-drop the piece that comes from the top of the screen until it touches any other piece or the bottom of the board. You can also hold the piece replacing it with the next piece (if not piece was held previously) or with the piece previously held. More points are awarded when force droping a piece from higher. You complete a level when you complete 20 lines. Each level makes the pieces fall faster but also gives more points for each line completion.
The game is over when a newly created piece does not have enough space to move.
Tetrada is a greek word that means "four of a kind" or "group of four".
Tetrominoes are the four element special case of polyominoes. Polyominoes have been
used in popular puzzles since at least 1907, and the name is given by the mathematician Solomon W. Golomb in 1953. However, even the enumeration of pentominoes is dated to antiquity.
The gameplay is similar to a well known tetrominoes game, Tetris (TM).

I like Tetrada much more than the EA Tetris, so I've just bought it . The controls are great.
Only suggestion I have so far: I would like to disable the vibration feedback in the options menu.

First of all, thank you for your support and kind words.
Vibration control heh? For battery life saving, it makes sense
Ok, I've added it to my 1.4 to-do list. If you think of anything else, let me know
I had to do a hard reset, but now I can't find Tetrada in the market place anymore. On your website I've read you had to remove it from the market place.
That's pretty annoying considering I've bought it.
@chr5s11
I am terribly sorry about this but it is really not my fault

[COMPETITION] PebbleWear - A homescreen replacement bringing powerful notifications

[COMPETITION] PebbleWear - A homescreen replacement bringing powerful notifications
Alpha Release:
Well, this could have gone a lot better. This app ended up being a larger project than I initially imagined and was filled with bugs that were hard to track down. I'm releasing a limited version that only displays notifications (no interaction) so I can release something mostly functional. This is a project that I really want to see finished, so my work on it will not be stopping.
Either way it's 4am here. So I need to sleep.

With Pebble Wear your notifications are always accessible right below the watch face. Notifications are mirrored exactly as they appear on your phone and are shown as a list of cards packed with glanceable information. (Text, images and icons)
Notifications are sorted by priority and only vibrate if they would on your phone.
The functionality doesn't end there, by pressing the back button you can dismiss a notification (also dismissing it from your phone) and by pressing the select button you can view additional pages and even trigger actions on the notification.
Core Functionality:
Version 1 will have at least the following functionality:
Basic digital watchface
Notifications mirrored
Images
Icons
Dismiss
Actions
Support Android 4.4+
Future Functionality:
Possible future functionality:
Customisable watchface
Notification Pages
Specific Android Wear notification functionality (eg quick reply actions, extra notification pages)
Expandable notifications
Support Android 4.3 (if in demand)

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've made substantial progress since starting development.
This is my first time working with Android and many of the Pebble SDK features so I found it helpful to develop small test apps to understand individual features. This has been very informative but has probably slowed down development.
Either way I have the following sorted:
--Watch App UI--
Memory management (how much I will store on the watch)
Binary image manipulation
Animations
--Test Notification App--
App Messages (the following data is sent to and displayed on watch)
Notification text
Notification icons
Notification images
Image dithering (surprising simple algorithm, but very effective)
I now need to combine my test UI with my notification sending which will give me an early usable version. After that, notification actions, and then finally add a tutorial/setup guide to the Android App.
seems promising!
not working so good to my phone and pebble (loading on every notification) but I want to keep a look on the development
Great concept
Great concept. I didn't know this was possible!
Consider posting the full Android project source onto GitHub so we can fork.
This looks awesome
Woops, ignore this
uhm,...is this project still active? Would be great.
Sorry about the delay. I've decided to redesign it to better fit the Pebble rather than just being a port of Android Wear. I'll still be supporting the same feature set except for the watchface. I'll hopefully have something done by the end of the year.
I've been watching this and haven't heard anything lately. Any word? @RichardGG

Thanks for your interest. I've had a bit of a software development dry spell but I want to get back into it ASAP. This is a big project and I'll be basically starting again from scratch so unfortunately, if I do continue, it won't be done until later this year. I'll keep this thread updated on any progress I make.
Good luck

Hello there, I'm the creator of the competition app Pebby - Baby Helper.
Pebby helps you take care of your baby. It allows you to easily set the last time the baby slept, ate or had its diaper changed. Glance down and check how long it has been since any of those events.
Pressing one of the three buttons starts or stops the timer for each of the three activities. The last time or time interval is shown besides each activity.
You can also view statistics and graphs of your baby's activities on your smartphone, on the configuration page.
Now that the competition is over and the first version of the app is released, I'll continue to listen to feedback and ideas for Pebby, to further improve it.
As this app is based on actual requests from moms, it's important for me to receive parents' inputs on how to improve it. Feel free to offer suggestions in this thread or via PM.
I hope you enjoy Pebby and be sure to tell all your friends with babies about it!

Project Roadmap
This is the project roadmap right now:
Create barebones project with app name and icon
Display button icons
React to feeding and diaper change buttons and save their times
React to sleeping button and save its times (start and end)
Persist time data locally for future app executions
Experiment with Action Bar to conserve screen real estate
Explore phone-side persistence and graphs display with Javascript, prepare JS Bundling
App config page with activity graphs on phone
Show 'X time ago' for each of the activities
Reliability improvements / tests
Design store assets
Future work:
Offer a way to register activities for twins
Here's a first draft screenshot:
Progress Report
The project is going along nicely, with the basic draft layout already done.
The app already has a menu icon and can be used to track the last feeding and diaper change times.
Next steps are to implement the sleeping times and save the information between app executions!
After some more development time, here's where Pebby is:
I've implemented the sleeping times, the time values persistence and redesigned the icons as an action bar to free up some much needed screen real estate.
Bonus points for automatically supporting buttons' pressed state now (because of the action bar, nifty little layer).
The absolute basic functionality of the app is now done, but it's time to start considering the storage and display of graphs: iOS apps require some time after bundling the working Javascript, which I'll need to implement the remaining features.
No screenshot today because the work so far has been mainly behind the scenes:
Communication between watch-phone
Storage of all values on phone, along with latest values on watch
Barebones configuration page
Communication between phone and configurations page
Ability to reset values history and start from scratch
App submission to the Pebble Store with Javascript bundling for iOS
And we're starting to see some graphs here!
The challenge end date is closing in and the app finally displays fuzzy "X time ago" texts.
I'm going to use the time that's left to essentially debug the app and make it more reliable in cases where the phone becomes disconnected from the watch as well as design the required store assets.
App released!
Check the first post for all the goodies, and thanks for following along!
Just wondering if this will work with a Pebble Time Round...? And, if not, can you create a "round" version??

I didn't do anything specific for the round Pebbles. A number of fixes and improvements are planned for the future, including upgrading the app to use the new SDKs and correctly drawing on second and third generation devices but unfortunately I haven't had the time to do it. So it's not forgotten but I can't promise dates right now.
If you do end up testing it on Pebble Time Round can you please report how it shows right now?
Thanks

[COMPETITION] School Schedule - Always know how much time is left

Hi, I'm RHuffy and I developed the School Schedule app for Pebble. This watchface will allow you to enter in your daily schedule, whether it be for school, work or anything else, and it will display how much time is remaining in the current time block. I was inspired to create this watchface while I was in school. I had trouble remembering the exact times my various class periods ended and constantly found myself asking a friend or looking up the bell schedule on my school's website. With my watchface, a quick glance at your Pebble will tell you exactly how much time you have left in period 5, or how many minutes until your lunch break.
Check it out here:
GitHub
Pebble App Store
Development Goals:
1. Working watchface displaying time and date. ✓
2. Configuration page in Pebble app for schedule input.
3. Time until/time remaining displayed based on current time and input. ✓
4. Ability to set frequency of events (i.e. every Monday).
5. User customizable names for each event
About me: My name is Raymond Huffman and I am currently a sophomore in high school. I have been coding for about 2 years now, but this is my first Pebble app.

Great news! The watchface is finally done. I ran into a few problems writing the configuration Javascript code, and once school started, I was unable to complete it. I did, however complete this "beta" version of the app with my school's schedule hard coded in. Hopefully I can add the configuration functionality soon. Here's a screenshot:
For testing purposes, here is the schedule that is on the watchapp:
Period 1: 8:18 - 9:00
Period 2: 9:04 - 9:46
Period 3: 9:50 - 10:32
Period 4: 10:36 - 11:18
Period 5: 11:22 - 12:04
Period 6: 12:08 - 12:50
Period 7: 12:54 - 13:36
Period 8; 13:40 - 14:22
Period 9: 14:26 - 15:08
Do you still support this app?
This looks like a useful watch face. Is it still supported?
