[Q] [Moto X XT1060] Music/Videos auto pause after pressing play - Moto X Q&A

I noticed this issue recently, I went to play some music on google play music and right when I hit the play button it instantly pauses. I figured it was just an issue with play music and haven't looked into it much yet. However, I just tried to play a video on the youtube player and it did the exact same thing. Restarting the device fixes this issue. I'm not sure what causes it, but it seems that it does it after being on for a while(2 days or so I would guess). Nothing that plays audio/video will play until a phone restart, the second I hit the little play icon it shows the pause icon for a split second then pauses and shows the play button again. I've had the phone for maybe two months now, I only noticed this happening maybe 2 weeks ago, not sure if it was doing it before that.

[Q] Video playback jumps & pauses .....Ahhh!

For the past day or so, all videos I play have had issues.
When I use the default/stock media player the movie will, every few minutes while playing, automatically jump back a few seconds during playback and then continue to play on. (It's like someone pressed a 3sec jump back button)
When I use 'mobo player' the movie will, every few minutes while playing, automatically pause during playback. I have to touch the screen to call up the player buttons and then press the "play" triangle button to have the video continue forward.
It appears to be the same issue but handled differently by the two players.
Any suggestions?
Galaxy Tab has issues with high and main profiles.
So try to down-size your video file.
If your video file is Full hd videos 1920x1080, try to get it to 1280x790...
Files that never had this issue have it now.
720i files have it too
The problem was also occurring with Netflix!
While streaming it would pause every couple of minutes, and no it wasn't a streaming/network issue.
I would have to tap play/pause and it would immediately continue.
I just ended up doing a "factory data reset" in the settings/privacy.
Kinda suks but I backed up what I needed, cleaned house, and now netflix, mobo & gallery play videos fine

[Q] Is driving mode supposed to pause bluetooth playback?

I seem to recall this happening the first time I used Driving Mode.. but never since. I use my phone to play Google Play Music (and sometimes spotify) over my car radio via bluetooth. Lately I find that the music isn't pausing.. but rather just 'dims' slightly and I hear the Moto Voice talking faintly with the music. And obviously, there's no way it will ever pick up me saying "Listen" with music blaring in a car.
Is it supposed to pause music playback, or is this not implemented functionality? Like I said, I could SWEAR it did it the first time..

I have a similar issue with Google Play Music. It's like Moto Assist TRIES to pause music, but Google Play Music just starts playing again. My old Moto X did this as well, but after a few fails, it would usually be able to pause the music successfully. The last Moto Voice update my old Moto X had also greatly helped in making sure the music paused at least when it opened the mic to listen to my text. My new Moto X can't seem to manage this.
If I have music playing, even when Assist opens the mic to listen to my command, it cannot manage to successfully pause Google Play Music. Strangely enough, if I bail out and just try to use the voice dictation directly through the keyboard, even that can't keep the music paused.
Maybe its an issue with Google Play Music? Its SUPER annoying.

Bluetooth and Play music bug

I have an N6 on Verizon. I am rooted and unlocked running stock Android 5.0.1. If I am connected to the phone with my Plantronics bluetooth headset, every time I place a call and then hang up when the call is over, Play music launches and begins to play music. The app doesn't actually open, but music starts and play music is in the notification pull down. Anyone else having this issue or have a solution?

Thanks for the quick reply. My bluetooth has one button. I just tried pressing it and music did not start. I called my voicemail twice. The first time I hung up with the button on the phone and nothing happened. The second time I used the button on my headset to hang up and music started playing.
How would I stop this?

i havent dove into the settings for : the device itself, the bluetooth settings, or Play Music. it may be imbedded in there, or it may be unchangeable/a bug. not sure tho to be honest
Same problem
I have exact the same issue on Nexus 5x Android 6.0.1 and Plantronics M165
This is a common issue from that BT oem. One of the main reason they are not used alot.

Audio issues after Jan update

I'm facing issues with Google Play music intermittently on pausing the track. Once paused, it doesn't start playing it. The app shows 'playing' (the pipe icon shown) but it actually doesn't play anything. To fix it, the app needs to be closed from recent apps and then has to he started again.
I downloaded Black Player and it also behaves similarly every now and then. Sometimes, the volume becomes so feeble that I can't hear anything below 8 or 10 volume units (of the total 15).
I noticed this after the January security update and am wondering if anyone else is also facing similar issue (on Stock Unrooted ROM)

Music output often garbled

I explained this problem on reddit (r/Xiaomi/comments/enxblm/garbled_music_on_mi_9t_pro - can't post links) but no solution was found. I'll copy the description:
I have regular problems with completely garbled music output on my 9T Pro: Instead of playing a song normally, the sound output it very high pitched and completely garbled, so even recognizing the song is impossible. Also, very unpleasant to listen to.
It doesn't happen mid-song, but when a new song starts playing it has a chance to be broken like this. Restarting playback fixes it, but it might just happen again with the next song.
I've tried differend music apps (Phonograph and Play Music), so the app is probably not the cause of the problem.
It's also not limited to a specific output, I've had it happen with the built-in speakers and when using a Bluetooth device.
I've first noticed the problem shortly after the update to Android 10, so it's been going on a while.
As suggested on reddit, I've tried VLC Player which doesn't seem affected by this problem, but I don't want to use it permanently.
Another observation: Rebooting makes this go away for a while, but with time it'll happen more and more often until it occurs on almost every song change again.
Any ideas?
