[Q] nokia X2 memory swap....... - X2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

how swap memory of this phone?????

I think you should use XInternalSD - the module of Xposed
Use it:
Tick in Custom internal SD path
Fill in "Path to internal SD card": /storage/sdcard1
Tick in Change path to Download folder
Tick in Enable for all apps, .... (this is optional)
Sorry for my bad English.

[Q] How can i uninstall App2SD ?

Hello, I am using MiniCM7 2.1.8 and nAa-10 Kernel. MiniCM7 has default App2SD so when i installed Link2SD and made and ext4 partition it automatically moved all my applications to SD Card and i dont want that, i want to choose what to move using Link2SD. I searched on forum but i didnt find how to remove native App2SD from ROM or how can i do to avoid App2SD installing everything on my ext4 partition.
Thanks you
PD: feel free correcting my English
try to delete with a "root-explorer" alle files with "Number+app2sd" in /etc/init.d . copy first this/these file(s) to an other path for backup - if this tip not helped you can move it back!
I have the same problam.
I've deleted 10apps2sd from /etc/init.d but nothing happened.
App2SD installs everything on my ext4 partition.
Can enyone help us?
do you rebooted your phone after deleting the 10apps2sd-file and instaling/configure link2sd? and are you sure, that apps2sd is moving your apps to sd or is it link2sd - look into the setting of link2sd, there you can change the installation-path (auto,in,ext). cyanogenmod>apps has also settings for the installation-path, how is your configuration there?
1. Yes, I have rebooted my phone after deleting the 10apps2sd file.
2. I haven't installed link2sd yet, but when I install any apps it appears in ext partition so I think apps2sd is moving my apps to ext.
3. In CyanogenMod settings>Application "Allow application moving" is not checked & "Install location" is "Automatic".
4. Thanks for your attention.
try to install link2sd, it's a very good app to manage the location of your apps!
1) install link2sd from market (its free)
2) run: link2sd regognize your ext-partition, and ask you to install a start-script -> choose ext2
3) look in "/etc/init.d/" if really all app2sd files are removed (you find there a file "number+link2sd" don'd remove)
4) reboot
5) now you can control the location of your apps with link2sd (intern, extern,sd) - look into the settings to configure it
OK, installed link2sd on my phone.
Choosed ext2 for start-script but error occured.
Choosed ext4 and reboot phone, everything is OK.
There is a file named "11link2sd" in "/etc/init.d/" now.
Link2sd settings: "Auto link" is not checked & "Install location" is "Automatic".
I install an app but it again appears in ext partition.
My problam is not solved yet because I can't install my apps on internal storage.
I think native App2SD from ROM is not removed yet.
And one spesial thing: link2sd thinks that apps are currently on internal storage.
What should I do now?
i am using miniCM7 2.1.8 and nAa-10 kernel, with sd (fat,ext2,swap).
my configuration for cyanogenMod is:
"allow application moving" + "install location - automatic"
and for link2sd:
"allow automatic moving" + "install location - automatic"
all apps i'm installing are moved automatic to ext2-partition by link2sd.
apps i use often, i'm moving with link2sd to internal storage!
I think it is because I'm using ext4.
Do you know how to change it to ext2???
I have partitioned my sdcard with cwm recovery.

I don't know if partitioning would solve your problem, but here are some links how to partition your sd-card. please be carefully, and make a backup of your card!
windows: with "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
ubuntu/linux: with gparted
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=557590
manual: with console/adb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=534714
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1230237
or with script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=543985
Thanks, I think it's better to wait for the next version of minicm and if this problam accured again, I'll partition my sd with ubuntu and use ext2 instead of ext4.

Solved! How to swap the internal sd storage with the external one

Hello everybody.
I'm searching for a way to swap between the internal sd storage and the external one on my Galaxy S3 Mini because the internal storage is not enough big to install games and other big apps. I've seen there is a way for the S3, but I don't know if it's possible for the Mini too...
So, please, if anyone can help me...
EDIT: I've found a way to do that, and it only needs to have a Galaxy S3 Mini i8190 rooted.
Okay let's go.
I took the method from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886091
But it's not exactly the same on the Mini.
The following quote is the instructions taken from the thread with the improvements ( in red ) for the i8190.
NB: I can't answer to questions since I'm not expert at all, I got it working so I give you the solution, that's all I can do.
1. First, I'd recommend making a Nandroid backup of your phone.
2. Next, just to be extra safe, I would backup your internal SD card to your PC. While you are doing that, if you have data on the external SD card, back that up too.
3. Next, I would format your external SD card to fat 32. (You could probably use Ext format too, but I didn’t test that.)If you already have it in that format, and have content on it, this won't affect the content, but back it up just to be safe. It’s probably better to have the Ext SD blank to begin with, you can always copy back its content from your pc.
4. Next copy the contents of the internal SD to the External SD card. This is to avoid confusion about apps and such.
5. Next install script manager free from the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...anager&feature=nav_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDNd
It will show up on your phone as S manager ads.
You MUST install BusyBox too!! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox
6. Download the mod from here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/11extsd2internalsd
( save as ) And put it into the /data directory of your phone
7. You must edit this script for it to work on Mini. Change /mnt/sdcard to /storage/sdcard0 and /mnt/extSdCard to /storage/extSdCard
(This vary depending of your phone, so check where is located internal storage, it was /storage/sdcard0 for me, and the external SD, it was /storage/extSdCard for me.)
8. Open the script manager app, and select Browse as Root in the config screen. Tell it to remember this setting.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/Script manager browse as root and save.png
9. Using Script Manager, navigate to that file in the /data directory. Press and hold the file name until the menu pops up, and click on properties.
(Unix geeks set them to 777, and everyone else copy the picture below. Click OK.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/Permission settings 777.png
10. Click on the scipt now.. Click on the “Is script” button.
11. Now tap on the buttons that say Su, Boot, and Save. The file name will come up in yellow after the save.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6305/SD Card Hack SG3/Script manager setting after save.png
12. Reboot your phone and you should see the swap working and be able to access both internal and external SD cards. The external card will show up as sdcard, and the internal card will show up as extSDCard. Your apps should now install to the external card, since your phone will think it's the internal card. Is that confusing? It was to me too!
Good luck and please share your experiences specifying which ROM you used, so that others can avoid frustration.
Thank you’s always appreciated.

for big apps or games you need to put a additional "external" sdcard in your galaxy s3 mini..... for example i have installed the game "Need for Speed - Most Wanted" 1,8GB of the game is on my additinal "external" sdcard and the rest (40mb) are installed on device.....

I've an external sdcard, I bought one of 32GB, but I can't use it as I wanted to because there is no way to install apps into the sd card. So I'm searching for a way to let know the phone that the external sd is the internal storage and that the internal storage is the external sd card.
I've found a way!
Well what is it then.

Please take a look at my first post. I edited it with the solution.
Hi Jalubyc
I've just tried your solution above and my phone is showing under storage
Device memory Total space 4.54GB
Available 378Mb
SD Card Total Space 29.71GB
Available 27.12GB
So it looks like my first attempt didn't work
Problems I found were firstly at step 6, I couldn't download the mod on phone. I was using chrome and there is no (save as) option. I can only save the link. On PC I saved the page as a text doc and edited the sdcard and extsdcard bits before saving the script. Where is the /data directory? Am I supposed to create a "data" folder in the root of my internal sdcard or copy to the data folder in the android folder? I put it in the android/data/ folder and it didn't work.
Once this is working is it safe to delete the contents of sdcard0 to get my 4.54gb back. I also take it any ROM updates would revert everything back

Oh no you're totally out of the solution. The /data directory is at root of the phone, so not in a sdcard. Use chrome from your PC to save as and put in into your sdcard before putting it into the /data directory with ES Explorer or another file explorer that's supporting root.
For the ROM updates I don't know because I've never tried.
I still cannot save the script using 'save as' as I don't have the option. I have 'save link as' which saves it as a text document. Edited it as stated.
I've found the data folder but ES explorer wouldn't allow me to copy my script to it and is showing the folder as blank.I got root browser lite from the play store which worked okay in allowing me to copy to the data folder. I used s manager lite to do its stuff and rebooted. No success - .
I'm using Android version 4.1.2/ Build number JZO54K.I8190DXALL3 .
Are you positive about the /storage/ change to the script as I remember when using directory bind it was /mnt/extSdCard/ and /sdcard/.
There is a /mnt/sdcard/ too which contains the same files as other location so possibly script can run unchanged. Getting a bit frustrated now as I have an old HTC Desire with over 300 apps (70+ games) with internal memory of 137Mb out of 148Mb and 10Gb free on sdcard out of 32gb
---------- Post added at 02:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:42 PM ----------
Ok working now. Your script changes were correct. Device memory total space 29.71GB with 27.12GB free. Sd card total space 4.64gb with 800Mb free.
Now to get my full 4.64Gb back which folder contents do I delete? I think deleting the contents of extsdcard in my files. Thanks you've changed my phone from a very limited phone to something much better.
It is a bit strange way to solve free space problems.
I have 8GB version with 4.5GB free the box. When I installed all games and apps that I needed there was something about 800MB free.
My solution is simple:
1. install Directory Bind
2. Make link: mount="/sdcard/Android/", source="/storage/extSdCard/Android/" with "Transfer Files" option
3. Wait till the end of process (can take alot of time depends from your data)
4. Enjoy!
After this simple manipulations I got 3.6GB free in internal memory, installed 2 additional games (including Need for Speed Most Wanted with huge data) and it shows 3.4GB now.
You can make as much links as you want, of course. But moving "/sdcard/Android/" to external SD is enough
I tried directory bind and it just copied the contents of my internal sdcard to my external sdcard. It didn't move the contents as it was supposed to. I ended up with a copy of the files on both sdcards. If I tried to delete from my internal sdcard it also deleted the contents of my external sdcard. I couldn't for the life of me figure out what I had done wrong as I'd followed the instructions as far as I could tell. Now my phone is seeing a massive internal sd card and a 4Gb external sd card. I still can't get spiderman total mayhem to work though it throws up an error while downloading the game data
you should not bind root folders via directory bind. And it makes symlinks so it will looks like content does not deleted from internal SD but it shown from external SD already.
flashable zip
Hi!
Do you think that is possible to install the mod via a flashable zip?
Many thanks!
Yes it is possible. Take a look of the post for the galaxy s3, it is explained. But you must edit the script to make it working.

Not possible, we do not have a unlocked kernel, therefore we cannot load unsigned zips.

Sorry I don't understand what you've written. What do you mean do not use to bind root folders? What's a symlink? Are you saying the folders I'm seeing on sdcard0 are dummy folders and the contents have been moved to extsdcard? I've swapped my sdcards over using the script now so no longer using directory bind.

i have two questions:
1: What do i have to do with this data:
#!/system/bin/sh
#extsd2internalsd is a modification that allows to switch internal sd to external sd and viceversa. With this you can use default internal sd only for app storage #and the external sd to store all apps resource and all others stuff. The resut is a very big increase of installable apps on gs3

Symlink
symlink in human words is just a folder redirect.
For example, you have symlink that links folder "/storage/mydata/" to folder "/sdcard/mynewdata/"
When some application, system or user will try to get data from folder "/storage/mydata/", the data data from "/sdcard/mynewdata/" will be shown but folder path will be not changed.
You should not link root folders such as "/sdcard/", "/" ... coz it may prevent problems.

Link 2 SD for Incredible S

Hi all ...
After searching fo rthe same .. Found that no answer is available to increase the application memory which is 0.96GB (Default depend on the ROM you are flashing) , I have found this way my self. Pre-requisites are same rooted, SU binary installed, an SD Card, SD Card Reader & Attention
1) Initially clear the whole SD card after mounting it on your PC (I mean Format -OU WILL LOOSE ALL DATA, BACKUP IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING REQUIRED)
2) Download MiniTool Partition Manager Google or get it here
3) After installing. find the SD card in the downloaded application.
4) Delete all the existing partitions
5) Now you can see the SD Card as Unallocated Space
6) Right click on that and hit Create Partition and select Primary and FAT32
7) Now you have to right click the same and select resize.
8) In that leaving 1GB or how much you want for application memory.. just leave that amount of space and select OK.
9) Now right click the left out space of 1GB or how much you have selected and hit create partition.
10) By default it pops a mesage, igone it and make sure you select Primary and FAT32 file system and then Apply
11) That's it... go ahead and hit apply changes at the top left of the window and wait till the process completes.
12) Now Place the SD card in to the phine and install Link2SD through play store.
13) After opening it.. it asks to select the file system to which it has to look up for.. Select Fat32 there.
14) It pops up a window for restarting which will fail.. Just restart manually...
15) After restart if you open Link2SD, it will not ask you for selecting the file system again .This is the proof for confirming that everything was working fine. Now hitting the options button while in Link2SD app brings up the settings menu in which you can select the default installation location to external and notifications settings to disable.
Thats'it. If my steps are confusing.. refer to our friends thread for Lnk2SD tutorial under Droid Section with screenshots.here.
But remember carefully that in the 8th step instead of ext3 you need to select FAT32 .
Thanks XDA... If you guyz find this helpful, please leave thanks

I forgot to put [TUT] in the thread name.. and unable to change. Mods please. :cyclops:

Guide - how to increase internal memory without scripts

I had trouble myself trying to increase the internal memory of my galaxy ace s5830i, until i found this method which i believe is very simple and easey to follow and wanted to share with more people who might be facing same problem. It isnot my work, but since it is in spanish i took some time to translate it so you could use the same procedure.
******************************************************************************************************
Here a translation from a video in spanish. The author is hery reyes• I’m only translating the info, but I’ve tried it myself and worked for me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rgq4cNvTMng
Requirements:
-Make a complete backup of your rom from CWM
- Have root access
- This procedure should work with any ROM (Stock or Custom) however in some ROMS you might need to have active the “init.d” folder
- Root explorer or Root Browser (links available in the video)
- Partitioned SD card (you can do it with CWM or using Mini Tool Partition wizard.. or others..)
- Link2SD
Procedure:
Open Link2sd and allow Root Access
It will ask you about the partition to be used, select ext2 and it will ask you to reboot your phone. Please ignore and go to the main menu. From there, reboot manually your device.
Once it starts again, open Linkd2sd and the message about partition should not appear again. (If it does, choose ext3 and repeat the process, try with ext4 or fat 32 if previous do not work).
Once inside Link2sd, go to settings and take the mark off all the options. Then close Link2sd and we will not use it again from this point on. We will not need it anymore.
Go to Root Browser and allow Root Access.
Go to "/data/sdext2" and delete any folder you find inside. Go to the path "/data" and copy the 4 following folders "app", "data", "app-private", y "dalvik-cache", then go inside "/data/sdext2" and paste them. This process will take a little while so be patient.
Once the 4 folders are copied, we go inside "/data/sdext2"
y will do the same process for each of the folders. Go to “app” and long press the button, for a menu to appear, go to the last one that says –create link- then, go back to the main */data” folder and clieck on create, you will see a message saying the folder exists and if you want to combine them, click YES. Do the same for the other 3 folders. NOTE: If your sd card is less low capacity (less than 4), then better do it only with 3 folders and DON’T do it for the data folder (just leave it copied without the linking)
Then go out of the root browser and restart your device. When you go to Application manager, you will see you are using only around 60 of the total available and will be able to download many apps.
Simple Method For Me
1.Make Partition of SD Card.
2.After flashing Rom with custom kernel say(Rafeal's).
3.Flash CronMod Unofficial-By Styrke.zip.
4.That's it No use of Link2sd and all .
Install as much app you want .

why unlink!? you can take a dump of your SD-Ext and put it back like this:
1. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p2 (assuming that's your ext partition)
2. Buy new, bigger SD Card
3. Partition the same size you had for your SD-Ext (1GB for example)
4. Perform: dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p2 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
5. Resize the partition!
So you don't have to work your way again to do all the work from scratch =P
I think the script is better then this (just my opinion)
