Devs needed - HTC Desire 510

Is there anyone willing to help develop on a similar device? I just went out and bought a desire 510. It has a snapdragon 400 series processor that is 64 bit and it's a quad core clocked at 1.2 ghz. It has a 4.7 inch screen and is generally the lower end version of the 610. Nearly everything is the same. I'm just looking for some devs

[Q] i9000 or i9001?

I want to buy a Galaxy S but... which is better? Galaxy S Plus has a few custom roms.. But its 1400 mhz.. hummingbird or scorpion? I'm a noob on these smartphones. some people say Galaxy S's processor is better than SGS+'s.. Which could I buy? Thanks.
I will recommend paying a few more and go for galaxy r .
Samsung Hummingbird is the best single-core chipset. ARM Cortex-A8 with PowerVR SGX540 = awesome combination.

The sgs+ is better compared to hardware, (there is the + for) but in my opinion the sgs is a better choice cause there are more people with this phone.. more people = more devs = more custom roms
And if you can pay more.. sgs2 is a much better choice

I agree with you. i9001 have a better hardware but have less devs working on them!
i9000 by far. Much more software, and in my opinion better machine.
BR
I'm running 1400 mhz on stock voltage of 1000 mhz. And -125 mv undervolted all of other frequencies.
Also I have a hummingbird + powervr 540 gpu
So I have Galaxy S+++
I9000 to the win

i9000+ will provide better web experience from the start thanks to higher cpu frequency, but you can oc i9000 to get pretty much the same effect. You need to decide whether you want customize your phone or use as it is straight grom the box. In terms of graphics i9000 crushes the i9000+, because it's powered by powervr540 while i9000+ uses adreno205 which is older and slower. Also there's the community backup thing. i9000 is one of the most popular and supprted android phones and this will continue even though much more powerful devices are released. It's just so user friendly in so many ways you can't ignore it. My vote would be for i9000, but it all comes down to what do you want from your phone and what are you going to use it for. Either way you go, you'll ebd up with a great sammy phone.

i9001 is a nice choice, but i9000 better because of community and official samsung support.
I'll recommend u to look at the LG Optimus Black - it has almost the same price/specs but it's a newer model, so u'll get a support for a longer time...
I was in same situation as you, I choosed i9000 and I don't regret it - you can OC the CPU and the PowerVR SGX540 is much better than Adreno 205 + more ROMs and mods, bigger community, more people with this phone. I get around 3500 score in Quadrant benchmark.
..
Look guys i know all people owning the i9000 are very proud of the powervr sgx540 gpu it uses, but actually adreno 205 is better than sgx 540, samsung has recently updated the adreno 205 gpu drivers in the galaxy w which uses the same chipset as the i9001, those who have the i9001 can download these egl drivers from here "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376462"
i have personally tested both the phones. the i9001 is in fact a good choice, the 1.4 ghz snapdragon cpu is the best single core processor i have seen, I don't want to hurt anyone here but all phones get old after sometime, the i9000 cant stay on the top always, and now we have the dual cores ready to woop our ares anytime
galaxy s i9000
for sure
DO THANK if you feel i helped you
Definitely the I9000! The latest stock rom (JW1) is incredibly smooth!

The Adreno 205 is not better, it's a piece of crap actually. 265m fillrate? that is the same as PowerVR MBX lite. PowerVR GPUs have much higher fillrate 1G fillrate which ensures gameloft games can be rendered with A.I. with lots of activities on screen. Adreno 205 renders OpenGL benchmark at very low choppy frame rates with disappearing polygons while PowerVR GSX 540 runs it smoothly without graphics glitches.
The 1.4GHz snapdragon processor is indeed better for multi-tasking, but what is the use of a faster processor with a combination of a ****ty GPU?
Not everybody is dependant on a gamer GPU. I personally don't play any games at all on my phone. So this depends on what you want your phone to deliver.
Go for Galaxy R
Go for Galaxy R, as samsung will be providing ICS for Galaxy R and Galaxy S2....

Isn't that only available for Roger's network in the USA and not worldwide?
you can't get the answer here... because most of the guys here have Galaxy S i9000, so they have to defend they're own device lol!!! and for all you guys here who doesn't know anything about "GPU's" i can give you a quiick info. here is a simple benchmark by two of the most respectable benchmarking groups anandtech and mobiletechworld.

PowerVR SGX540 is a beast but Adreno 205 held its floor against it and wins by inches at the majority of categories. (slap on the face of the sgx540) users hahahahaha :silly:

Help me get rid of Intel-itis

Just bought a PC for $550. Specs:
AMD Phenom 965
8GB Of G Skill DDr3 Memory, In dual channel mode
MSI 970A G-45 Motherboard with USB 3.0, Crossfire, UEFI BIOS(You can navigate the BIOS with a mouse), and many many other useful features
XFX 6950 Graphics Card.
Seagate Constellation SATA 3.0 Six GBPS 2 TB Hard Drive(2, 000 GB!!)
Cooler Master 600 Watt Power Supply
Okay, I can do just about everything on this PC(Play BF3, MW3, Crysis 2, etc) but I have that old "Intel" mindset that all Intel CPUs are good and that I should have one. I am not sure how this CPU compares with my old i7 920, but whatever.
Help me get rid of Intel-itis please!!!:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

There is your answer then. Intel CPUs are, generally, better than AMD - that is why I got a decent laptop with an i7 in it this time around, rather than getting a budget AMD-based system that I knew I would regret buying after 6 months or so.
Dude seriously stop opening new threads just to rehash what was in one of the old threads you had already opened.

Intel Chip

Hello everyone
I've been reading for a few days in this forum about the Motorola Razr i
I certainly found interesting articles but strangely I have found that very few refer to the Intel chip
just as I have been looking about the chip of "Motorola Razr i" and found a curious comment
"Medfield z2460 was meant to test the waters and is the reason why it was launched in india and not the US. Just a precursor to the medfield z2580. The z2580 and Clovertrail will be offered in dual core variants (not to mention quad core for clover trail) and will ditch the imagination technologies sgx 540 for an sgx 544 mp2 which runs 34 [email protected] mhz.
The sgx 540 gets 6.4 gfllops @400mhz . The adreno 225 runs at 24.5 [email protected] 400mhz and the tegra 3 (t30l or t33) gpu runs 13 [email protected] mhz. So being that 6.4gflops vs 24.5gflops is relative to 202% what do you think happens with 34 gflops vs 24.5 gflops? Plus the s4 is 103 mflops single threaded while medfield z2460 is 90 mflops single threaded on the cpu side. That's pretty close. Dual core comparison with sgx544 might actually be superior and at a higher process node (32nm vs 28nm), and that's with an in order instruction set vs ARM's out of order. I don't see how you get "x86 Atom has very slim chances when taking on Qualcomm’s ARM processors or any other new generation ARM mobile CPU from Samsung or Nvidia" with that info. Your talking a gpu and a core.
Come spring they go out of order, not to mention ditching 5 year old architecture for silvermont, 22nm process and inclusion of intel hd gpu with 40 to 80 gflops (depending on eu count) and you think there will be no competition? Even the apq8064 adreno 320 only has approx 40-45 gflops but that doesn't include the modem so higher tdp .
Maybe the exynos 5250 with mali [email protected] 68 gflops will be a threat given release schedule but still, nearly matching single threaded performance with the best chip on the market (and with 5 year old architecture), and beating every ARM chip to date in java script for a first try/test the waters offering? Swap a gpu and add a core and its game on. And adding new architecture, 22nm, out of order instruction and hd graphics and ARM might have a problem until 64 bit ARM v8."

My question is How true is this?
not publish the link to the site because I do not know if this is right in this forum.
I apologize for possible flaws in my English.
I'm having a super-smooth experience, so yeah, the hyper-threaded single-core chip is doing a very fine job compared to the ARM competitors.
But is it true that Intel will go out-of-order for their next architecture? Because the whole point behind Atom processors was to take advantage of Intel's advanced lithography and well tought architecture, then simplify it to make it consume much less energy (and go from out-of-order to in-order was one of those simplifications).
Well I always thought Intel smartphone chips were more powerful CPU wise but gpu wise its behind.
And christ you can quote all the figures you like but it doesn't mean it'll actually reach that. Its what the individual parts can achieve.
Put them into a phone and reduce the power consumption to an acceptable level = a lot less than quoted figures

[Question] Moto G 2014 Processor Model

So, i got curious and downloaded the "CPU z" application to have a look at my phones specs in detail. I found that my processor was the "4x ARM Cortex A7 @1.19Ghz". however the advertised processor is the "1.20GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400" now, is this just a pre-manufacturing model name and I'm just being stupid or is something fishy going on here?
Also i find it odd that the actual processor in my device is clocked at 1.19 when i in fact was under the idea that it's a 1.20 clock speed. I'm sure it wouldn't make that much difference but still seem odd?
could someone put my mind at rest and tell me that I'm just being an amateur and to go back into my android noobie cave or can someone confirm that in fact something fishy is going down.
thanks!

Desire 520

I'm not sure if it's appropriate to post here, but I can't find any decent information regarding the 520. I just want to know if any of the 510 custom roms are compatible with the desire 520 that is sold by Cricket.
Thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong place.

They're not compatible because the specs from the 520 are not exactly the same as the 510 for instance the 510s chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 and your 520s chipset is a Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210, the desire 510s GPU is an Adreno 305 and the 520s GPU is an Adreno 304 the 510s CPU is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 and the 520s CPU is a Quad-core 1.1 GHz Cortex-A7... So no you can't use anything from the 510 on the 520, sorry.. However, it is possible to port one of the roms/kernels to your device though.
is the HTC Desire 520 even rootable? I cannot find any reliable information.
