Umm s3 has 2gb of ram unless your getting an internation version which has a quad core processor
Sent From A Coked Out Epic
Actually they're releasing the Note 2 soon, and that'll probably be better than the s3.
I own both devices but why the note has 100mb more free usage ram I dont get it
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
If you HAVE to buy one of those now, i would personally go with the Note, but since you're not me i would recommend you to buy the S3. If you're smart you'll wait for the Note 2 or the next Nexus, which i guess will be released around the same time (like last year).

Based on what? The S3 is undeniably Samsung's flagship, the Note is more of an oddity (nothing against it, it just doesn't have the same mainstream appeal). It would be against Samsung's interests to release a device that made their flagship inferior.

If they make the note inferior specwise, it won't be as popular. It's somewhat newer, so the processor may be slightly faster. The ram will probably be 2 gigs and the camera 8mp. The s3 will still be the flagship, and the note will be for those who want a phablet, but without having last year's specs.

Well, Note has larger screen and S3 is more powerful.
Personally, I'd go for Note. In the other hand it'd be wise to wait for Note 2.

Biased Note user here.
You shouldn't ask this question, every person in this thread knows what's best for them, not what's best for you.
If you are really unsure, wait till the end of August for Sammy to (hopefully) give us some specs on the Note 2, should help sway your.balance to one or the other

I like my nexus too, but wouldn't be mad if we could get those camera functions on the nexus. I am sure that my wife would like the dual camera shot.

Samsung's approach: Pack as many gimmicky features into crappy feeling hardware and crappy looking ui. yuck! Could they make the phone look anymore cheaper. And that touchwiz ui... WOW does it look crappy.

agreed. It looks like a good phone with some cool features. I like my phone better, but this is probably going to be great for all of those sgs2 users that are about to come off contract.
Mainly camera functions. Maybe Samsung should focus more of their energy into camera.

Happens in every forum. Everybody loves the phone they have and will defend it ruthlessly. When another, newer phone comes out people bash it. Just how it is. The sgs4 is a nice phone. Its not a let down or disappointment. Its just not a nexus. Nexus gets first updates and amazing development. That's what matters to me the most.

After the nightmare of dealing with Samsung and ODIN I vowed NEVER to own a Samsung Phone again. SGS4 looks like more of the same as the SGS3 and as someone called it the SGS3s That is exactly Samsung's strategy. They are copying Apple even more in this regard. They will keep the SGS3 going for another year as the more "Affordable" SGS like they were doing with the SGS2 recently. Notice all the Deep discounts for the SGS3 lately? I can't wait to get my self all on the Nexus Line (as well as my Wife). Tired of all these bad Custom UIs and Carrier Hostage crises.
saw the live event. Its nothing revolutionary as Galaxy S3 was. Most of event focused on gimmick features. It has some cool features but nothing wowed me .

Samsung hit the nail by putting ipad 4 powervr 533mhz oc gpu and octo core on international s4 . the us version has adreno gpu same as nexus 4.This will smoked any mobile devices until tegra 4 and qualcomm 800 released.
you all know which one i am getting.

Nexus 4 vs Google Edition of Samsung Galaxy S4

I saw this article yesterday but didn't know if it was true or not. Would you sell/trade you're current Nexus 4 for the Google Edition Samsung Galaxy S4? Will the Samsung Galaxy S4 be the exact same as the Nexus from a software perspective since it's pure Android?
I'm not a big fan of the Samsung build quality (ie plastic) but know there are a lot of nexus 4 owners that would like 32GB and a removable battery.

It doesn't matter if it's true or not. The Galaxy S4 supports AOSP. Those who want AOSP know what to do. That's just how I see it.
If it's unlocked and reasonably priced (maybe... like $400 for a 16gb model) I would absolutely jump ship for the S4. To me, a changeable battery and microSD card are killer features.
However, I don't anticipate it being much cheaper than a standard unlocked S4, so I probably won't be buying it.

Just wait for Google IO and see what is released
I miss my 32gbs of storage, however, I love the feel of my nexus....don't think I can go back to plastics. My batter lasts me all day even with heavy use believe it or not. I can't lie though sometimes it's close but it always comes through.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Oh god, please, just NO PLASTIC FOR GODS' SAKE.
I personally don't care which company makes the next Nexus, I just hope that it's not cheap plastic.

Well, not sure what to think of a google s4 version priced at $649 available at the google playstore soon.
If it becomes successful, that would definitely have a negative effect on the cheaper nexus devices.
Google I/O confirms this.
June 26, $649, 16GB only, ATT/TMobile with LTE support.
It's official just heard it on Google I/O 2013, 16GB with expandable storage, LTE, unlocked bootloader (works on AT&T and T-Mobile) and updates from Google for $649 on Google Play starting late June 26th. So who is getting it?
Seems rather pricey to me but I know people will buy it.

They priced it high to increase the attractiveness of their TouchWiz S4. It's basic marketing strategies =)
Their goal is to obviously get people to use and be entrenched in the Touchwiz ecosystem.

Nexus 5 Indonesian thread

Any informations regarding the nexus 5 availability and pricing in Indonesia? Hope it doesn't cost an arm and leg, $450-500 for the 32gb model is quite fair, also i don't think the 16gb model will make it here just like it did with the n4 last year,

Anyone disappointed about Prime news?

Is anybody disappointed of rumors of the "premium" Galaxy S5 Prime rumored to come out in June just a few short months after the "regular" S5?
My gf and I both have the S5 on the Next plan, so we are locked in for a year. I don't know what to think.
Thoughts?

Nope, because I realize it's just more unfounded rumors. A "prime" S5 is not coming out. Either way, none of the rumored specs intrigue me one bit. I'm quite happy with my S5 as is.

With the next plan you can pay off the phone at any time that you feel like it, if you'd rather make credit card payments for the phone and want to cancel a line you can do so. My mother payed off and cancelled her line a few days ago, and she's had the phone since day 1.

I'm willing to bet this is a tremendous amount of smoke with no fire. If there really is a Prime, then either Samsung would have to be able to charge a so far unachievable price for the device, or the S5 would get the fastest price markdown since the original iPhone.
Not
Gonna
Happen
I'm betting the G-906 is just yet another variation of gadget spam, just like the S4 had.

TIZEN
I actually wonder if these rumors have to do with TIZEN OS devices - to go with the watches -
http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/smar...un-android-and-release-tizen-phones-this-year
Maybe thats why - Samsung going to make the JUMP with a HIGHER quality model for their OS devices - to make it more of an option then just the popular android version?
I mean think about it - if u had your choice with tizen or andorid on the same hardware - wouldn't you just stay with android?
I would be pissed if they did release a prime version. I bought the s5 at launch, because Samsung said there was nothing to those rumors. If one does come out, then they should have said something, and I would have waited to upgrade.
I am disappointed.
