[Q] Horrible Benchmark Score - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Stock rom my note 4 scored 25417 in antutu. Thought wtf and tried testing again with the custom Skyfall rom, almost the exact same results.
Is my note 4 messed up? Should I do a device exchange?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Are you letting your phone cool down before benching? Putting it in the freezer? (Real questions) I personally won't return a phone because of low benchmark that means nothing in the real world other than to show off. P.S.my first bench was in the 30ks

No, my phone was sitting idle for a good amount of time though before testing.how could my scores be so drasticly less than yours?

Heres the thing . You shouldnt rely on that benchmark score at all especially on custom ROMs . I have had Roms that performed amazing in everyway and tested poorly on benchmark . There are a lot of factors that decide your score and in some ways scores can be cheated . Others on XDA can explain better than I can but you need to try other ROMS and also try when your phone isnt hot as He$$

Also did you run benchmarks when you are on Stock only ? To compare?

Mines is 46512. Stock Rom, Rooted.
Maybe it's a running app that causing the low score.
Do you notice any lag? Gaming lag?

Mine was low too until I turned off power saving mode

I just tested mine while downloading a file in the background and scored 43K. Maybe you have something going on in the background that's a CPU hog. I'm on Stock but rooted.

Lagfix question

Hi I'm rooted and have jh3 and sre 121a installed.i did the one click lagfix off the market it was working great noticeably faster, but my battery life seemed a lot worse, do these lagfixs do that or was it some other issue.has this happened to anyone else

I dont know if it could be caused by sre doesn't it use the overclock 1.2 ghz kernel i am not sure if that would drastically effect battery life or not.

For me, the lag fix alone didn't cause a drop in battery life, but right now I'm having a huge problem with the battery.
Well Ive been running set cpu at 1000 max.so isn't think the overclock was the issue.

I have been running jh3, sre with the lag fix and noticing battery life has not been that good. I dont know what is causing it I am going to back up my apps with titanium and run odin and run at stock for a day or two and see if battery life improves. Right now i am getting maybe 7 or 8 hours with regular phone use which isnt that good

That is my batt life. Not good at all anymore. With lagfix and OC kernal. But it is about the same after those installs and what not
If you installed the lagfix to the SDcard (installed the ext2 that is), maybe your card is just being read a lot more and is using more power? (conjecture, I don't actually know :x )

I don't think you're supposed to post results with "inconsistent precision".

nothing very special ...
testing details :
running CM .58, vorkKernel-20110622, OC to 1,5 Ghz, NO UV, flight mode, killed all apps & tasks before testing ...
i think thats very unnecessary to compare your e-pen++-enlargements isnt it?
benchmark tell nothing, most important thing is that the rom is useable in day to day use hehe

yes of course, i think the same, but it´s just for fun
since there are several benchmark apps in market, people will use it, no matter if their scores represent the daily functionality & speed ...
so, don´t be too hard, i´m not serious with that, just started this thread for fun ...

Question about ROM/KERNEL battery life suggestions.

My Nexus 5 is coming in the mail on friday, and I was wondering if anybody found a good kernel/rom + settings to achieve the best possible battery life? Ive been doing research, and CM nightly + chaos kernel seems like that might work.. any better recommendations?
maybe a certain kernel + stock rooted??
anything? my main concern is battery life... but I also need performance.. not extreme performance but i dont want a laggy interface just for better battery life.
maybe also some undervoltage settings?
please people give me some recommendations or even your personal favorite and why.. thank you.

heres exactly what you are looking for http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477889
experiment a little, try out different combos, thats the only way that you will find the perfect combo for your phone, and for your needs. everyone uses their devices differently, has differing needs, and each device reacts differently to every rom and kernel. whats perfect for me can be terrible for you.
Just passing thru....see the post above mine. Thanks

Poor benchmark performance after 5.01 dirty flash

Ive just done a dirty flash of the 5.01 update -
Through fastboot I flashed system, boot loader and used the decrypted boot image.
Just run antutu & geekbench 3 and found the final score is pretty naff. Anyone else had similar or know why it might be?

Looked at better battery stats and noticed it was stuck at 1.7ghz. Does the nexus automatically limit the cpu when the battery is low?? I didn't enable battery saving mode

i guaranty that your issue is your own fault. first off, i bet you just left the cpu speed as is(stock) then ran a benchmark test. well, guess what? that is the wrong way to benchmark. what cpu speed did the benchmarks run at? ill tell you, you have no idea. thats because itll vary however it feels like in between the max and minimum cpu speed tested. so, you couldve been testing a run at 1.5ghz instead of the 2.6 you thought you were using.
to run a benchmark properly, you have to set the max cpu and the min cpu to the max speed you want to test. or youll end up testing a lower speed. and if you are running stock, thatll be very hard for you since stock uses mpdecision. mpdecision will change your cpu speeds, even if you set them.

yes, at 20% or lower it reduces cpu speeds and amount of cores used.
My stupidity then. For some reason I didn't think it limited unless manually set to saver mode.

yup. and at the moment, it automatically does this on custom roms as well.

General Antutu results - very low?

So basically I did 2 tests on my phone.
1. With high performance enabled (decreases battery life)
2. With high performance disabled.
Before each test phone was cooled down to room temp.

In both cases the results seem...low considering S888 CPU.
And by default the high performance mode is disabled...cause it eats battery like crazy
What are your results?
@user154 your result is from high performance mode?
I see u have much lower temps than I had...do u use the case included or any other case?
In the meantime could u share the screen from CPU temp/clock monitoring on idle? On the main screen you have this little horizontal button with temps and details...just click.details, go to CPU tab and take a screenshot of all 8 cores charts.
My build is: CPH2173_11_A.16
Lol these scores are so pointless like SOT discussions. You won't notice the difference between two phones with different scores no matter how large the difference.....
Hello, i know that bench doesn't show the real UX but there is a gap between the first post and the standard score of find x3 pro.

What do you mean by gap?
A significant difference between your benchmark Antutu and my results. But dont be worried. It's the same phone. take care of the heat.
