You NEED a unlocked bootloader

If I install this, can I go back to 4.4.4?
If yes, how?
Thanks

yes you can,but first you need to pass a rom to your sdcard1,do the first step to flash a kernel with recovery(doomkernel is the best) and do the wipes and install

Hi,
As I can see here the SIM card and camera are one of the major things which don't work.
How can we get them to work? Wait for OP to update or are we supposed to wait for Sony to provide the required fixes?
I apologize if I offend anyone with my post.
I'm excited to have Lollipop as my daily driver as soon as possible.

This is awesome, can somebody checklist what needs to be implemented, fixed or is working properly.
- Android System (force crashes?)
- Touch
- Display
- Camera
- Video camera
- Bluetooth
- Sound (speakers, in-ear)
- Video playback
- Hardware acceleration
- Calls
- Texts
- Gapps (http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-gapps-for-android-5-0-lollipop/)

I got sound to work, but routing doesn't work, which means that if you plug in your headphones, the phone doesn't detect it but keeps always playing through the speakers. Bluetooth doesn't work either so for now (for me?) sound is speaker-only...
I'm also building the unified kernel with Z2 config at the moment, we'll see if this fixes anything.

is it build from official sources??

Im going to keep my eye on this
My interest has been aroused by how quickly this showed up

I made an Android 6.0 custom rom for Nexus 4 that fully integrated Gapps. (Google dialer, Contacts, Calendar, Webview, backuptransport, etc.. )
Feature:
Almost same as Pure Nexus factory image.
Enabled seandroid, no rooted.
All build scripts are opened on github
3G data is disabled as default for user that has cheap data plan. But you can enable on data setting menu.

Hi,
have you included this https://github.com/SoloProject/plat...mmit/cf3bdc97e269ecef08e2778ad25d24fece2ab99f for enable doze in your rom? By default, doze is disabled and nexus 4 has significant motion sensor.

Edit: No, it fails. Thanks for the rom though.
Just flashed it here! So far it's working like a charm! No hangs, lockouts, or whatever. Verified with ADB and Doze Mode kicks in just a few seconds after the screen is off.
Great work!

AOSP Marshmallow build

After spending the last few days trying to build AOSP 6.0 from source, I finally got it to compile. I have links to the system.img, boot.img, recovery.img, and userdata.img if anyone wants to try it out.
Edit: Files removed. If anyone wants to test out AOSP 6.0 for the Z5, look through the thread. zacharias.maladroit got it to work.

Sorry, I don't know what works and what doesn't. This is built straight from Sony's aosp build guide. It probably is not stable. I just thought that some people might want to test it out, seeing as there are no marshmallow builds on the internet.
ok
so you haven't even tried if it boots?
i'll try and see what happens..
is the build with all changes as z3 concept?

When I tried to build it with the guide given, I ran into an issue saying "fatal error: pm-service.h: No such file or directory". Someone else had this issue too, and it was suggested to use this patch: https://android-review.googlesource.com/#/c/180351/. Once I did that, the build succeeded. I have not yet tested it out.

@Uclydde Your Latest AOSP-M Build boot's up but it has artifacts on boot, it does optimize apps, will report back and test everything out.
EDIT: I don't know why but the app-optimizing-process takes very long, maybe because i did a dirty flash to keep userdata from prevouis Stock-Xperia-Firmware.

I have compiled and successfully booted into aosp marshmallow as well as lollipop two days ago.
However here's what's interesting, since there isn't a specific way to install a custom recovery for the marshmallow, there is no way to install gapps! Also, mobile networks as well as sd card doesn't work! Only WiFi works. As for the lollipop, after using the dirty root method, I could install gapps. Also mobile networks work, but the sd card functionality is still missing. And camera fails to work in both the aosp builds.
To summarise what doesn't work:
AOSP_L_kitakami_sumire:
Not working - sd card, camera.
AOSP_M_kitakami_sumire:
Not working - mobile network, sd card, camera, gapps.
P.S.: I can upload the image file links if anybody is interested in flashing it! But I still see no point in doing so unless you're interested in testing out a few apps that you're designing specific to this device.
Cheers.
@Uclydde
hi, is there any progress for AOSP M ?

[Guide] [Mate 10 Pro] Treble-Compatible ROM installation and Compatibility list

Introduction
This is aimed to be a complete but simple guide for users which want to know what works in the Treble-World on the Mate 10 Pro and 'how to get there', based on other guides and my own findings
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for what you do with your device, you are free, probably old enough to know what you are doing and intelligent enough to read this through.
For the moment I will only speak about my own tests on a BLA L29 as I don't have the possibility to test everything.
Feel free to share your own discoveries via PM (just reuse the same formatting to make things easy)
Requirement
1. PC/Laptop running Windows 10 with adb and fastboot drivers installed
2. Original Huawei USB Type-C Cable
3. Being able to read and use search when a question arises
Summary
0. General Information
I. Unlock the Bootloader
II. Choose your ROM (a.k.a "What works on what")
III. Install your ROM
IV. Miscellaneous / Secondary stuff
V. Bonus : What to do if I am stuck / Bootlooping
0. General Information
To make things easier for everybody, here are some basic informations about your device and some common knowledge :
How do I get in Download / Bootloader / Fastboot Mode ?
Shut down your device, insert your USB cable. Keep the Volume DOWN button pressed and press the Power button, wait.
PRO TIPP : You may also get there from within android, first enable ADB debugging in developer options, then, on your PC open a command prompt and type "adb reboot-bootloader"
How do I get in Recovery Mode ?
While in Download / Bootloader / Fastboot Mode, take the USB cable out, keep the Volume UP button pressed and press the Power button until the phone reboots.
I. Unlock the Bootloader
We allready have a thread by @otonieru perfectly discussing this point, don't forget the Windows 10 fix :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/how-to-huawei-mate-10-pro-standard-t3709535
II. Choose your ROM (a.k.a "What works on what")
This section isn't complete and should be detailed with time. None of these ROMs is specific for the Mate 10 Pro, but thanks to Treble, most images will work. Device-specific modifications are still needed in future, ask your local dev
1. Generic AOSP (Android 8.0 and 8.1) by Phhusson
Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...-development/experimental-phh-treble-t3709659
Description : Really basic ROM (basically pure AOSP) which serves as a basis for most of the other ROMs.
What's working : Everything basic
What's not working : VoLTE, SuperSU and Magisk, Signal strength is reported incorrectly, error message at each start, Play Store tends to hang (solution : wipe the Play Store from recents or force close it)
Actual status : Barebones, can be customized in some ways with overlays.
2. LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1) by LuK1337
Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-view-10/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-t3753000
Description : If you don't know LineageOS, you should have heard about CyanogenMod (CM). This is a super clean, customizable version of Android, based on AOSP
What's working : Everything basic
What's not working : VoLTE, SuperSU and Magisk (system crashes), Signal strength is reported incorrectly,
root works thanks to addon-su (see Miscellaneous)
Actual status : Working as a daily driver (at least in my case) if you can live with some very small drawbacks.
III. Install your ROM
Once you have unlocked your Bootloader and chosen the ROM your heart desires follow these steps :
1. BACK UP YOUR DATA ! -> You will certainly have to do a factory reset and backing up data should be something natural when flashing something on your phone, even before updates.
2. Download the ROM (latest is probably best, but it's best to read what is said in the respective threads before jumping in the hole.
3. Reboot to the Download / Bootloader / Fastboot Mode (see above)
4. Flash the ROM by opening a command prompt and typing :
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
where "system.img" is the filename of the ROM you downloaded
5. Reboot the phone by typing :
Code:
fastboot reboot
6. The phone will probably get in a bootloop. Don't panic. This should be normal.
After 4-5 reboot the phone will go in Recovery mode. Make a Factory Reset
7. Reboot
8. Profit
IV. Miscellaneous / Device-Specific stuff
This is probably the more interesting part as it is quite hard to find the correct information for our device concerning these points.
Root
ROMs as Lineage don't come prerooted. To root your phone the only viable solution seems to be addon-su for the moment.
To install you will need to install TWRP (follow the instructions in this link by @Dees_Troy : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-0-touch-recovery-t3752399 ), boot to TWRP (same as booting to Recovery, as TWRP is the new Recovery). go to advanced -> adb sideload. Connect your phone to your PC and flash the file using
Code:
adb sideload addonsu-15.1-arm64.zip
finally reboot, go to 'developer options' and chose the desired option under 'root options'. Done.
Camera
When flashing a ROM it will probably come with the stock AOSP or Lineage camera which, just say it, sucks on our device form a quality point of view. Here are the answers found to this problem for the moment. Sadly, there isn't one solution which works for everything and everyone.
Google Camera - GCam
Photos work - Gallery works - Videos don't work
Right now his is probably the best compromise if you want something that works, easy to install, while not wanting every little gimmick (in that case you should probably stay on EMUI - The definition of gimmick). Simply install the apk.
Note : there are probably other versions of GCam that work or will work in future, feel free to inform me / us about better working versions.
Link : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rw2lXtSHvOUalpA8YKg_kW2Xj_Gu746M/view
More information / discussion :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/help/gcam-mod-mate-10-t3729078
Camera Port from the Mate 9 - needs root
Photos work - Videos don't work - Gallery doesn't work - Most filters and gimmicks work
A bit more complicated to install. The easiest way found for now is to root first using addon-su and then copy the system folder inside this zip into the respective folders using a root enables explorer like solid explorer
Link : https://mega.nz/#!7hQDhQAK!p2s7jQp9-nhp2-O1U2s2GrBB9UVBhgKDtFfHTq_CHvI
More information / discussion : https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...huawei-stock-camera-app-treble-roms-t3735169/
V. Bonus : What to do if I am stuck / Bootlooping
Remember when I said to back up ? Well I hope you did, because if you are really bootlooped and a reflash of the system image hasn't helped. you will have to reflash the whole device, which isn't quick.
Gladly @mankindtv has got you covered with his great guide : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/guide-mate-10-flash-oreo-update-package-t3716814
I hope I could help a bit. Feel free to add your own findings, simply PM me.

That's too bad, android auto uses h264 streaming codec I think. I think this issue will have something to do with hardware acceleration. Have you tried messing around with the acceleration option found in the developer options to see if it might work?
Nice guide! Thank you @ChriKn!
Can you add to the "Generic AOSP (Android 8.0 and 8.1) by Phhusson"'s part that we need to use A-ONLY version of this rom?
I will try as soon as I have my PC.
Sad news, I got a good opportunity on a Pixel 2 XL and sold my Mate 10 Pro (I need my Pure Android AND Quality Camera)

[LG H870] Korean Oreo port [WiFi working] [Stable]

I've got the stock Oreo for H870 now in a state where it doesn't crashs the whole time and most things are working. Fingerprint reader won't recognize your Finger, and USB Debugging isn't working, any other things are working although. The rom is now suited for being a daily driver (Fixed WiFi 3/05/18)
If you could get some logs, that would be extre helpful, so we (EvilHowl, J0sh1x and me) can turn this rom flawless.
Here the rom to download: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=890278863836283338
How to Install:
Its like any other rom:
Format Data (With the option where you have to type yes)
Wipe System
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik Cache
Flash the Zip File (Oreo_r8.zip)
At the First boot:
- To change language you tap on the first bar
- Setup with Internet, everytime I setupped without Internet connection it caused me a bootloop (In this case Format Data, and reboot to system)
- Don't try to turn on WiFi, this should be fixed in the Rom, but it can cause bootloops if you turn it on
- Don't Download the Bloat apps, they will mostly be in korean
- Some texts can still be korean, just reboot your device
Extra Notes:
The Google Playstore will need some time to search, but it works normally.
If you keep rebooting into TWRP you need to completly power off your Phone (Hold Volume Down and Power button) and get into TWRP with the button combo, and then reboot to system
If you keep having Issues, come to our Telegram Group for better support: https://t.me/joinchat/DpmOZERW3-oD8x9l3jXGxA
It's better to install Gapps the Pico variant so you have a normal loading Playstore (take arm64 8.0.0)
For MTP to work, you must have atleast opened the File Manager once
You can turn Data on/off in the Settings, not in the Quick Settings
The bars on Data aren't accurate

Is anybody in the process of porting this over to the us997 or would that be too different of a base OS for that to even be possible?

How can i have the data mobile toggle? I have the "roaming" toggle..no data mobile
Okay so I installed it yesterday, (on my H870) the ROM works very fluid, had no fc, overal performance great. Daily driver worthy.
Only issue I got was that the rom said my sd card was corrupted and should format it. Any one else got this problem?
Anyway, big thanks to the devs who make it possible to get it working on the H870, keep up the great work ??

You can't deactivate the data on the Quick Settings, just in the normal Settings

[C103] ROM/KERNEL/MODULE/MOD Discussion Thread

C103 Easy All in One Discussion Thread
Hi everyone, I'm using Coolpad Cool 1 C103 and through fire and hell in the early days, managed to get my device bricked, IMEI lost and then thrown into the dustbin just 3 days after buying it.
After a week of meditation, I decided to try to revive it and managed to get TWRP installed and the rest is history. So, in order to help the newcomer, I've decided to create a thread to help with the device. My device is C103, so my reviews and guides here are compilation of what I've done. Other member with different experience and method can feel free to share it.
Custom ROM Bugs :
Android 8.xx
LOS 15.1 by @SimbyOS
- everything works except that it's hard to lock into 3G signal. I can't get H+ signal.
- i can't switch between Wifi and Wifi Hotspot tethering without rebooting.
- no stock JUI camera, so Monochrome lens is unusable.
JUI 8.0 by @SimbyOS
- no Monochrome lens in stock camera
- wifi hotspot tethering doesn't work
- video recording works
- Magisk root and modules working well
Android 7.xx
JUI by @Cuoco92
- unable to record video and voice record
- ROM is rooted with Magisk but most modules don't work such as Youtube Vanced and Viper4FX
- device sometimes freeze and goes into non-stop vibrate.
- need daily reboot for ROM to be running smoothly.
- mic doesn't work in calls
JUI Cool Play 6 by @Machomotofan
- wifi doesn't work on my C103 but you can flash wifi driver.
- stock camera all working well including video record but no Monochrome lens option
- Bootanimation is in Russian
JUI Cool Play 6 by siv_88
- most stable JUI 7.xx for C103 for me
- prerooted with Superuser so you need to flash stock JUI boot.img and then root again with Magisk
- need to flash remove encryption after Magisk root .
- Magisk is stuck on Core Only mode so modules doesn't work.
- no sound and mic when calling. Fix in buildprop fixed it for me.
- stock camera doesn't work with gallery but i fixed it by flashing another JUI stock camera
Reserved #2
Reserved #3
I think JUI Cool Play 6 by @Machomotofan is really good the wifi worked at least for me...but IR blaster does not work in any of the JUI 7.0...And no monochrome lens...so had to revert to eui 18s

I cannot build any roms because of device tree bugs. there is a bug when merging kernel or vendor source.

you need to install all the corrent drivers. this device need a lot of digging and i've forgot most of the stuff and deleted the downloads since i've set my work station with all necessary esentials. but i remembered finding most of them in 4pda. you have to install coolpad download manager first to get the fastboot driver. and it's a pain in the ass when you're using win10. also you need to set you driver signature verification off and put your windows in test mode. yes, it's a hassle. go down this path if you're willing to tolerate and finding ways to repeteadly bricking and unbricking your phone. lol. and 1 more thing, update your phone to official JUI 1st and install Cuoco JUI to get the device ready with easy setup. Cuoco JUI comes with preloaded TWRP and Magisk.

thanks bro
thanks to Droid Insight, I succeeded in building Superior OS for Cool1.
but I have not flash TWRP because of unknown error with QFIL.
so I didn't test this ROM and feel free to try this but all features are not checked.
It seems that there are same bugs with
https://forum.xda-developers.com/cool1/development/rom-t3948184
because I used same sources.
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=296922
add
I succeeded in flashing TWRP and checked almost feature. released as unofficial.

Have you flashed TWRP? Trying MiFlash might work for you then. Here, I've made a complete guide on how to goes to Android 9 from EUI/JUI. https://forum.xda-developers.com/co...upgrade-to-t3954064/post80007403#post80007403
