[Toolkit] MotoFlash (automated flash back to stock, modded logo flash) Updated to V3! - Moto G 4G Android Development

Hello everyone,
I have looked around and I saw some toolkits but none of them (that i've seen) restore back to stock. So therefore I introduce to you:
http://postimage.org/
MotoFlash is a flashing script which if used correctly puts your device back to stock without any hassle, all of the details are included in the Readme file inside the zip that will explain to you how to use the tool correctly.
This tool should be suitable to use on Any Moto G as long as you have the firmware available for that device, please make sure that if you are attempting to downgrade there can be issues and if you are downgrading make sure that you have a firmware available that is a higher version (e.g if you are on 4.4.4 and downgrading to 4.4.3 you will want to have the 4.4.3 firmware AND the 4.4.4 firmware so you can flash the 4.4.4 if something goes wrong).
MotoFlash has only been tested on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, I'm not sure how it will run on other versions of windows.
If windows 8 or 8.1 pops up and says that smartscreen has blocked it from running click more info and then run anyway. The script is clean and safe to run.
To use this toolkit your device MUST BE BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED. Guides for this can be found on XDA
MotoFlash Version 3.4 has now been added and is available for download from the download section! This is a big release as it now has a UI (made with mediator) in order to launch scripts!
Please note:
I am NOT responsible for any broken phones, or loss of data by using this application, use it at your own risk.
To use this you will need to download the correct firmware for your device.
The stock firmwares for XT1039/40/42/45 can be found by clicking here (Credit to Vpnair)
I hope you find the tool to be useful, feedback is appreciated, and if you need help well be sure to post or send me a message and I will reply as soon as I can.
Thanks!

-UPDATE-
User "Lurker Observer" has informed me that this does indeed work with Android 5, Thanks for the information!

Hello there
I want to thank you, this is an awesome tool!
And yes, it works, I was on 5.1 and go back to 4.4.4, 0 errors, only the scanline thing because of the boot update (I'm using Moto G 4G LTE XT039)
Have a great day

This is a common question that has been asked on here and in my personal messages and the answer is I am afraid I have no idea if it works or not. I no longer own a Moto G of any kind. This tool simply flashes the firmware you give it but without you having to do it manually, if it would brick it when you did it manually then it will brick it with this tool. If it would work manually, then this tool would work manually. I am sorry that I'm unable to provide more information.
Proceed at your own risk - if anyone uses this tool to flash back from official 5.0 to 4.4.4 then please provide your results as a comment! thank you!

Great idea! Looking forward to that zip file.

It's available, as an attachment.

I will try it when Lollipop will come

Thanks for this, it is a heck of a lot easier!
Side note: Directions could be cleaned up a bit, some people may get confused. You may want to mention that you will have 2 folders (one for the firmware and one for the batch scripts) and that you are combining the two.

Thank you, I will update it soon
[Edit] Instructions updated, thank you for your feedback and I hope it somewhat clears it up a little.

Very Nice Tool, how ever a suggestion if one may. There are a few that would like to keep their data so it might be a good idea to have a Question for that and if the answer is yes then the fastboot erase data line is ommited.
Some might want to flash the Modded logo.bin after so the warning message is nulled. Others might want to flash a different firmware but keep thier radio's which by saying yes the lines about fastboot flash modem NON_HLOS.bin and fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn are ommited.
Other then that nice work.

I will look into this, I'm actually looking at how to implement multiple options in a batch file now...I may have a go at some point. Thanks for the feedback

There are many CMD based tools using multiple questions and i am sure you could look on how this is done and implement it. Its a good idea and i am not knocking your tool either its a good to have something like this for users that want to recover thier devices but do not have either the time or knowledge to do so.

I know you aren't knocking the tool don't worry and yes I will research it when I have some free time next and see what I can come up with

I thought we had to use mfastboot instead of fastboot to flash Moto G.

Nope I found that out when mfastboot didn't work for me.

Fastboot works just fine on this phone.
Used it 4 times with regular fastboot and its been fine c:
Sorry about the double post :x
Edit: I have now figured out how to add multiple choice, it won't be long until I can implement this into MotoFlash.

I remember incompatibility of fastboot with certain files that mfastboot overcame. Although i cant remember what they were. I believe it was to do with file size...certain people had issues with larger file sizes. Either way, if you have any error with fastboot...use mfastboot.

I will add the option (hopefully) to run the script to as mfastboot.

used mfastboot the first time i've flashed my phone, but after that i've only used fastboot without any problems.

I looked this up. Its okay I can easily change it to Mfastboot just gotta download the mfastboot v2 and change the script to be mfastboot on all the commands. Its no problem.
If it works better which according to a lot of places it does then I'd rather use that.

Been waiting for this kind of stuff, great! Perfekt when Lollipop arrives.

Have changed it to mfastboot. Now creating multiple choice questions...won't upload until finished

I converted my G XT1032 to GPE, can i revert to stock rom (and change GPE EXT4 filesystem to non-GPe f2fs) with this .bat?

Looking good. I might snip parts of your mods for use with AzusaROM. I'm not too sure about the update-script syntax, the custom recovery we got uses updater-script. More info later...
Ok, but now try to make update without wipe, without formating system and data.
If you want to add/delete some few things - no need to format whole device)

Ok! Thanks! I'll try... but.. if I want to remove "things"...I will have to write the proper commands to do so in the update-script, haven't I?
So do you think that this ROM could work? Do you recommend to try to flash it [before creating a goldcard in case something bad happens, of course xD]??
Any ideas for the show_progress command? What does the following numbers mean?

Of course! I'm going to bed now, so tomorrow I will post all the links I extract the information from. If you can't wait: all the posts are from this forum.
I'm working on a custom rom for tattoo too, but i don't know how to flash un update zip, what's the command? Can you help me?
you need a custom recovery by mainfram3 zip yor rom and copy to sd, rename update.zip, restart the tattoo in recovery mode (home+power) and select "apply sdcard:update.zip"

Commands to remove something:
Code:
delete SYSTEM:lib/libA2DP.so
delete SYSTEM:build.prop
delete SYSTEM:xbin/bb/busybox
delete DATA:app_s/MarketEnabler.apk
Creating goldcard is to avoid region (customer id) check ONLY.
But goldcarding keeps company with way to get new ROM - this thing confuse all often)
If you have modified recovery, doesnt matter what CustomerID do you have.
AFAIK and also mainfram3 can back me up on this, is that updater-script uses a 1.6 syntax like ui_write(), format(MTD,'system') etc unlike 1.5 which uses a basic format, with format SYSTEM: etc etc.
This leads us into the grey area, what commands do we have? Is there some that will damage the device? What does update-binary do exactly (I know it updates the ROM, dur , but what exactly).
Unless we can back port 1.5 script syntax to work with mainfram3's custom recovery, it looks like we're limited to trial and error.
Update-binary
These are the functions available in update-binary, through the use of the updater-script:
Code:
void RegisterInstallFunctions() {
RegisterFunction("mount", MountFn);
RegisterFunction("is_mounted", IsMountedFn);
RegisterFunction("unmount", UnmountFn);
RegisterFunction("format", FormatFn);
RegisterFunction("show_progress", ShowProgressFn);
RegisterFunction("set_progress", SetProgressFn);
RegisterFunction("delete", DeleteFn);
RegisterFunction("delete_recursive", DeleteFn);
RegisterFunction("package_extract_dir", PackageExtractDirFn);
RegisterFunction("package_extract_file", PackageExtractFileFn);
RegisterFunction("symlink", SymlinkFn);
RegisterFunction("set_perm", SetPermFn);
RegisterFunction("set_perm_recursive", SetPermFn);
RegisterFunction("getprop", GetPropFn);
RegisterFunction("file_getprop", FileGetPropFn);
RegisterFunction("write_raw_image", WriteRawImageFn);
RegisterFunction("write_firmware_image", WriteFirmwareImageFn);
RegisterFunction("apply_patch", ApplyPatchFn);
RegisterFunction("apply_patch_check", ApplyPatchFn);
RegisterFunction("apply_patch_space", ApplyPatchFn);
RegisterFunction("ui_print", UIPrintFn);
}
Attached to this post you'll find the source to update-binary, from the Android 1.6 SDK.
Hope this helps!
Thank you very very much mainfram3.
With this information I think I would be able to build a update.zip with a working ROM (finally!!).
I will upload it.
Can't get the download links to work... Page cannot be found
Hey mikifafi, how about a tutorial about how did you do this rom customization??
Thanx in advance
¿A new working ROM?
Finally I was able to upload the version 1.2 of this ROM.
I have changed the updater-script, so it must flash now. If it does, you will have a bit faster rom than the original without the slow Sense UI.
You can download it from the first post of this topic: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=643368
Please, if someone tries it, post your results
P.S.: Dropping my "favourites" about rom cooking into a text file to post it here later.
Downloading right away Will post back with results.
Btw. Love your new uploading page
thanks for your work!
worked!!! i go to test,after i publish my comments
Thanks for you work
Works here too!
Seems fast at first sight. Will test more and return
Thank you very very very much chusen and whooper90 for trying it in your devices!!
I'm very happy of seeing that it works!!!
Now I notice that I forgot to completely remove Sense UI (it is just desactivated, isn't it?). I will change it and also will remove some not-free apps that shouldn't be there.
Can any of you try to run "busybox --initial" to install busybox, please?

I would like to add for those that like my toolkit, PLEASE DO NOT POST IT ELSEWHERE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!
I have seen multiple sites who copy and paste my work to their site! If I do not approve of it, then do not do it! it will discourage me from adding updates since it is being used for their own benefits!
tl;dr.
If you post my work without permission, don't expect updates!
I created an easy to use GUI program for the HTC Amaze and I decided to make one for the HTC Desire C. I spent a good over 10+ hours to learn how to script, watch videos on how to do it, working on it during school when I should have been listening lol and all that fun stuff. I am going to fix it and up and add more updates to it. You CAN place requests and I will try to fulfill it!
If this helped you out, Please press the thanks button and if you want, you can always donate!

FAQs
Q - Why Did you make this?
A - To make life easier
Q - You are limited on features. Why?
A- You can always make a request!
Q - Will this work on other devices?
A - Only the fastboot commands, HTC Dev unlock (device specific) and the HTC drivers. Toolkit is made for the specific device.
Q - Will you support more devices in the future?
A - If people REALLY want, I can make it happen. I just don't want to make anything that nobody would use.
Q - Awesome! Can I make a donation?
A - Of course! Do not feel obligated though. If you would like to make a donation, you can click the button on my toolkit or under my username.
Going to build and upload the toolkit soon. Closing the thread temporarily

Yes and the .bin file must be in your toolkit folder same thing should be done for the .img file.

Simple Root for Unlocked Bootloaders (SGP311/312)

It was clear that rooting some Sony devices was not as easy as it should be. This is for unlocked bootloader users, who want to quickly root a stock ROM by flashing a rooted boot.img. It is for the POLLUX_WINDY (ie. the SGP311/312) devices ONLY.
Do not install this on the Pollux (tablet Z with LTE), or it will no longer boot - use flashtool to fix it
There may have been some in the past, but these tend to be full of other "tweaks", like hideous amateur boot logos, and stupid changes like setting ro.secure=0. That's a bad idea, it can break things, and frankly, I know from experience of myself and others that there is a need for a FAST way to root your unlocked device after flashing a new ROM, rather than messing around with downgrading and OTAs.
This will NOT work on locked bootloader, but this is not intended for them. This doesn't include 9001 different recoveries either, like some "kernels" do. This is the stock kernel, with root added, and nothing stupid added.
There is one security improvement made - ro.adb.secure has been set to 1. This is an important security feature, please don't complain about it. If you don't use ADB, you'll never see it, and it won't change anything. If you use adb, it will offer you greater security on 4.2+ stock Sony ROMs, which don't have this feature enabled. You will be prompted to accept the computer connection on the phone, just like in "AOSP" Android 4.2 and above.
The downloads are available above, in the "Downloads" tab. If you have a particular version you wish to request, simply post the kernel.sin. I have made this for only the SGP311/312 (Pollux_Windy) Tablet Z phone images right now, but will consider expanding it for other devices if there is demand and people who can test.
Enjoy simple root, without the nonsense. None of the "don't mirror my files" crap. None of the "please give me donations", none of the "omg credit me as the best person ever". Feel free to share, use, re-use, mirror, enjoy. And I think you'll find that these files are rather helpful for the unlocked bootloader root community I've been thinking about making them for months, but it seems that nobody has ever bothered to.

Correct.
But, since I feel generous, if you upload me the kernel.sin file from your LTE model, I will make a rooted boot.img for it. You can attach them to a post here if you like - just the kernel.sin. Please name them per the stock ROM version, so I can label it correctly.

The attachment is rooted for this version. As you didn't give me the firmware version (ie. 10.A..whatever...), I won't add it to the list. Please test and let me know if it works. If this fails, just re-flash kernel using flashtool.

Nope. Setting ro.secure=0 is NOT the right way to root.
The ramdisk is modified, it will detect if you have root already, and if not, it will install SuperSU and the corresponding su binary on root. I also set ro.adb.secure=1, to add extra security for the device (now you need to approve ADB connections to unrecognised computers).
If you use ro.secure=0, this will break many apps with "root detection", as well as being a horrendously ugly hack, which introduces all sorts of vulnerabilities. ro.secure should always be set to 1
I strongly advise you don't use root methods that set ro.secure=0, as well as any kernels that do it. It's much safer to not have a rooted ADB shell lying available to anything that connects to your device... Including... you know... an app running on your device that initiated an adb connection to 127.0.0.1
So yes, this gives you root without adding stupid extra security holes like many kernels and "root methods" do

Instead of going through all the trouble of unlocking the boot loader and flashing an image, use the Vroot tool instead; it works fast and and does not require unlocking the boot loader. Search this forum for information about the Vroot tool.

[ROOT][SGP351/321/311/312][4.3] Update to 10.4.B.0.569/577 [UB/LB][XZDualRecovery]

Rooted 4.3 as per this details
Please read the instructions clearly and flash, i will not responsible for any Brick/failures on your Tablet.
Stop by and thanks to @[NUT] without him we don't have the root now.
Copy Paste from his Forum and modified for SGP351
Requirements:
Flashtool by @Androxyde
XZDualRecovery 2.6 RELEASE or newer.
Current FW version: 10.3.1.A.0.307,
Special features:
SuperSU integrated in system, FULL root, no reboots when remounting /system RW!
XZDualRecovery 2.7.62 BETA (CWM & PhilZ Touch & TWRP) pre-installed;
Tailored FTF to minimize the chance of accidental system wiping!
No need to clear caches!
For both locked and unlocked bootloaders!
In the following guide I suggest you use an external SDCard but that's just good practice, you can use your internal storage or even an USB OTG storage device in TWRP if you like to install, that's no problem!... If you are modding and the likes, best is to have an external sdcard, just for safeties sake.
for SGP321\SGP311\SGP312 click Here
SGP351: How to update to 10.4.B.0.569::
For SGP351: Download the files here (SGP351 latest 4.3.zip and SGP351_10.4.B.0.569_US Stripped.ftf), save it somewhere you remember; (mirror)
Put 'SGP351 latest 4.3.zip' on (the external) SDcard1;
Put 'SGP351_10.4.B.0.569_US Stripped.ftf' inside the Flashtool/firmwares folder;
Create a backup of your phone in CWM or TWRP and don't forget to backup the contents of 'SDCard0';
Flash 'SGP351 latest 4.3.zip' in Philz, after flashing the ROM,
do not reboot but go back to the main menu, then go to reboot->power off;
Flash everything in 'SGP351_10.4.B.0.569_US Stripped.ftf';
Reboot to system without clearing (dalvik-/)cache.
The first boot will be considerably slower and after a long wait at the boot animation you will see Android optimizing the apps on your phone.
I have done this myself, using this method and I have not found any problem yet, again! :fingers-crossed:
Enjoy! :laugh:

Thank you for your work! That's exactly what i need! :good:
Edit: installed the SGP321 version and I can confirm everything is working fine, including root and recovery!
@`SBR` you can modify the guide, you won't be needing the supersu_fix for this ROM, your package will work just as good, the fix has been applied to the update 2 package
I'm a bit pressed for time and can't support all devices at once with these packages, so exactly THIS is why i created the DIY thread, so people like you can do the same and help a fellow user get a proper rooted ROM with dual recovery :good:

There's a possibility to upload them to another service, like MEGA or GDrive?

[ROM] [Stock] H872 V20b Tweaked ROM:
Cooked in the Kitchen, added many Different tweaks, Removed all encrypted from ramdisk.
removed Most bloat, Still working on some others, Added updated Gapps packages and frameworks.....
uses the google Dialer and frameworks. among latest google core settings and frameworks...........
Thought I would share this with others. Now that Nobody wanted to update the blobs to the latest oreo blobs,
and I had no luck doing so my self, I figure I would just customize a stock rom to my liking at least......
I will fix this thread up more as I go..
This is only a TEST Rom.. many custom changes over the stock... Packages I used was latest AROMA 8.1 arm64, opengapps packages from 11/02/2018 ..............
I did test a fresh install, But that was only tested on early stages and it worked, I replaced the LG's setupwizard with googles update, same with package installer........... I did test deodexed, and it worked, but was really really SLOW, way to slow........
So I kept it ODEXED, So dont ask me to deodexed it for you.. Stock ROM is just not setup and stable enough to
deodex everything and have it work as fast as it does keeping it ODEXED.......... Maybe if I ever figure it out ill test it out again. but for now.. I leave it.
LG dialer and contacts was removed in replaced with Googles Dialer and Contracts, as well as google's calendar. I did remove LG's, I tried to remove most of all LG's crap, You cant remove any of the LG's providers, they are needed to make the 3rd party app work........

If anyone has Issues with calls dropping out of the blue please let me know, It would be caused from a network tweak I used.. and would need to revert that..
its pretty much build.prop problem if you get that................ I know I do.. but I cant be 100% sure unless others let me know too..
One more note, If anyone is having issues with ADB, and getting this error :
Code:
adb: error: failed to get feature set: device unauthorized.
This adb server's $ADB_VENDOR_KEYS is not set
Try 'adb kill-server' if that seems wrong.
Otherwise check for a confirmation dialog on your device.
Then copy your adb_keys from:
linux: .android
windows: cant remember
but push it to your device from recovery:
adb push adb_keys /data/misc/adb/adb_keys
and then reboot,, it will once again work again........
Not sure why it wont work the regular way.. but at least its fixable.

same thing kept happening to me with zArchive and es pro. tried X-plore file manager, worked as intended... a word of caution, after saving app will look as if it is frozen or laging... it is not it is saving a large file. when it is done the new zip should have a $ or something like that in the name, check the size of the new file if it looks good then flash away but if it is like 500mbs or something like that its corrupted......
anys make a backup and the rom is awesome i couldint find anything wrong at all!!!
good luck and dont forget to thank Eliminater74 for his work and efforts.

Can you help me please? I need LG G6 Oreo camera APK , please
Not bad
It is awesome so far but there are a few hiccups. There tends to be apot of ui freezing, especially when opening google, camera app and many others. Other than that its not bad also could make an updated version with the newest patches?

Are you trying to use that on the stock os? If you're trying to run that on a different ROM than the official LG ones it won't work without their framework. Also if the app is odexed there's no easy way to port the app to anything else.
