[Q] Query: Note 2 adapter from micro USB to 2+ USB and 1 micro USB for phone charging - Galaxy Note II Accessories

Hey all!
I have had a note 2 since a year, and watch a great deal of movies from Hard disks/pen drives via an OTG cable on it. However, I face a problem when the battery goes low and I cannot charge my phone as well as continue watching via OTG.
Hence my query- Is there any hub/adapter which can expand my Note 2 micro USB into a couple of USB ports (1 USB will also suffice, but I'm being a little greedy here ) as well as a micro USB so that I can connect my phone charger and charge the phone as I watch movies.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks

I think you're looking for something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FGKXY9S/ref=pd_aw_sims_1?pi=SS115&simLd=1
But the listing says the cable will not charge the phone. It will only power the accessory attached.

@GarfieldDC- Yes, I want something like this, which can charge my phone as well plz...

is not possible because the connector otg is different from the connector for recharging

You may need this. You can connect even a hub into female usb while other male cable plugged into the charger. I use this cable for many device which does not provide power on otg. And it do charge the phone also

charging cable for X1

Can i use a non sony cable for charging my X1 or USB transfer? It looks the same as a USB mini connector that i have but i'm not game to test it without your advice?
Yes you can. The only comment to make is the number of connectors in the cable. Almost all cables will charge & allow you to connect with your PC, a minority may just allow charging.
(I once bought one of those roll-up cables from Boxwave, where the cable is collected in a disc: it was sold as a charging cable, and yes, it only charged! In the same box there was a synch cable of the same design, and that both charged and sync'ed)
And re the charger, you can use any. Charging from the PC is slower, as will be some wall chargers with a low rating (amperage).
But you will not damage the phone, however much power (amps) the charger promises to provide: the phone will only draw the current it needs.
Thanks for the reply. I'll test my cable.
x1 is miniUSB a universal std like a normal AC connector
even other htc devices with extUSB rather then normal miniUSB is direct compatible with
all miniUSB cables for charging and syncing with computers

Friend purchasing nook for me. Should I get anything else?

I have a friend who is visting the US (I'm from Canada) and I asked him to pick me up a nook. Not finding clear info in some of the reviews, mainly concerned about charging.
This charges over usb when hooked up to your computer right? Just want to make sure it doesn't use a proprietary cable for charging. I read on the ipad side, that older computers don't give out enough power to charge over usb, is that an issue with the nook?
What adapters/cables does it come with exactly? And is it just a standard mini-sub for the charging?
Also, this has a headset jack correct? I've read no bluetooth, I guess there's no way to get a mic working on this then.
Micro USB, will charge VERY slowly using a computer. Includes a 2amp wall socket and special cable to quick charge (still micro usb, just more pins). Has a headset port but does not come with a headset.
I've only had a few mobile devices. I read the ipad can charge over usb if the mobo supports giving out that extra juice. Some mobo's have a new firmware update to enable this.
The connector is micro-usb but just more pins. Hmm. so if the cable breaks or I misplace it no other micro-usb will charge it?
edit: i read a little more and found that it's 30 pin proprietary cable to speed up charging. I also read the galaxy tab does something similar.
Does anyone know if they use the same pin configuration? probably not, but I can get tab usb cables here.
I know you didn't ask for it but I'll tell you anyway
In case you are worrying about registering your device (mandatory at initial setup).
I'm NOT in the US and it worked fine.
Good to know. Thanks.
But I'm more concerned about charging it and relying solely on their cables.
I read the ipad can trickle charge on newer computers but some wouldn't provide enough power. Asus et al have released utilities to increase the power to the usb ports.
I can't post the links but endgadget has an article about it providing links to those utilites. They just talk of apple devices but does this work with the nook?
It comes with a charger for US-type sockets and only if you charge your nook with this (and yes, it is proprietary ) it'll charge quickly. It does seem to charge when you connect it to a standard PC USB port but at an extremely low rate.
On the device Micro-USB (not Mini) is used.
You say it does seem to, do you mean from personal experience? How slow? It sounds like that if you do own one it was so slow you didn't let it finish.
Like if it's 8hrs overnight, I can live with that, but I want to confirm that there is a plan b and not solely rely on their cables.
And as I mentioned asus and others released utils to give more power output to the usb (although these seem like their were only created for ipads). Wondering if those utils speed things up.
for ex, google asus ai charger to see what I mean.
I received my nook Color a mere few hours ago so I can't tell you a lot about its charging behavior It "seems" to load slower via standard USB... if you want to know about the details check one of the large threads on the NOOK and its rooting. I remember reading some information about the USB connector and its peculiarities there.
Ah you just got it. I see.
I found this on the root thread:
'
"There are 12 pins coming off the connector. It looks like there are no pins for the standard micro USB portion, only the extended 12 pins. 2 pins are used to bring in +5V, 2 pins are for signal ground providing a hefty circuit for the 2A charging. USB takes up two pins, and as far as I can tell 2 more are for each LED via current limiting resistors. Two more pins go to discretes that I haven't identified, and two more pins are unconnected. I'll take my scope to them when I have some time."
Not sure what he means when he says no pins for the standard micro portion...
Maybe the plug doesn't have standard USB pins, but the NOOK itself does have standard USB pins as well as the proprietary ones. Because I have trouble inserting the original B&N plug, I went out earlier today and bought a standard Micro USB cable...
I connected it to the nook and it said "not charging", so I went out to do some shopping (10-20 minutes max) and left it at 89%... when I came back it was at 93 %.
So it DOES in fact seem to charge albeit slowly.
Thanks. It's weird, lots of comments of its own cable not fitting properly.
As long as it charges with a normal cable I'm good.
I guess it is charging... however there is a slight chance, that it's NOT charging and the battery charge display is lying (de-calibrated). I don't think so, but I'll only know for sure after a few more days of using only the standard USB charger cable.

How can i replace the normal charger?

My dog just ate my standard mini usb charger. Can i charge my phone with normal usb cable (while connected to latop/pc) or is it problematic for the battery life?
Can I use any other mini usb charger like HTC desire?

I assume this is a troll
If not I'd like to see some pictures of it.
Yes you can use any other MICRO-usb charger, not MINI. USB cable works as well
Haha! unfortunately no troll He cut the cable into two pieces, so it is completly destroyed and the connector is damaged too.
Im pretty pissed, dont have the money to rebuy a new one So ill stick with my usb connector. Just wanted to go sure that my phone wont take any damage while charging with my laptop
I connect my phone to my pc via MICRO-usb cable. It charges phone also but it's slower than normal charger.

[Q] bizarre usb change issues - help

after years of not issue, yesterday my note stop charging in the outlet chargers, I have several all do not charge it but have no issues charge my wifes phone.
but I can charge the phone with the same orig cable when the usb is my computer and not the outlet.
any clues why my phone will charge in my computer with same cable but not in orig outlet plug. please tell me I do have to have my $2K high end gaming desktop on just to charge my phone in its usb slot.
I cleaned everything, it is a new battery
-----------
any help is apprecaited
I guess problem is in your adapter..try different adapter and see if it helps
Sent from my AweSoMe ?♥Note2♥?
I have tried 4 different adapter/cords combos ( just in my house) none of them charge my phone in an outlet - all work with my wife's smaller samsung in output. so weirdly only a direct usb with the oem cord to computer works ( in both my desk and laptop). so weird. so annoying.
You have to buy a new charging port, and the board that comes with it. This is a link to the part you need. If you search "n7000 charging port flex ribbon" you should be able to find other places that have it. http://www.etradesupply.com/oem-samsung-galaxy-note-gt-n7000-charging-port-flex-cable-ribbon.html

[Q] Z3c won't charge on DK48 dock

So, I have the official Sony DK48 dock for my Z3 Compact (no case). The phone will recognize that it is connected to the dock by giving the notification sound, but the battery will not charge while on it. I've tried wiggling it all sorts of different ways, and tried at least 3 different USB cables, but still no dice.
Is anyone else having this issue?
Have you used original cable? I had this problem with some poor quality cables, they were too thin inside for the designed current
plug it in the mains...

With 'mains' you can mean so many things.
I guess you mean plug the cable in an electrical outlet, rather then in a computer. I believe that I had the same issue. (Worked fine in an outlet)
The DK48 will only charge the phone when power comes from the mains. It does not charge the phone when connected to a USB port of a PC or laptop.
Use the original charger and the original cable that came with your phone and the Z3/Z3C should charge just fine in the DK48; that's at least what my does.
Yes all of my attempts occurred while plugging the dock into the AC adapter that came with the phone.
I guess then it seems like its a faulty DK48...
It should work with the original cable, adapter and electric outlet (not a PC).
Why wouldn't the DK48 charge through PC? How does it know? Amperes?
The input from the computer is too low even when you plug the USB to 3.0 port... Unfortunately you MUST use wall charger for the DK48 to be working.

I am a bit late in this thread, but I will post it anyway in case somebody has the same problem. Dk48 won't charge phone while connected to PC, because it checks if data lanes in Micro USB port are used. If they are, charging is stopped. If someone wants to charge phone using dock connected to PC (I for example connect it to my active USB hub, which is connected to my PC) it is necessary to use Micro USB cable, which doesn't use data lanes, just charging ones.
I hope it will help somebody.
