Working on a rom as well, will post a thread for that once i get testing out of the way.

Sweet!!! I really was hating this phone since I got it. Filled the memory soooo quick. Would love aosp on it. Just got lollipop cm12 on my note10 and love it

For right now it will be stock based, but i'm going to get a device tree together and try to get 5.0 booted up on it in the coming weeks. Just wanted to release something for now so people wasn't running the dreadful stock rom....

The kernel itself is loads better, everything just feels much smoother. Paired with the Rom, it almost feels like a whole new phone. I must say, this guys headed in the right direction. A few kinks to iron out, should be on shelves in no time just wanted to post a good review in here for people to read, hopefully, to peak their interest.

I can confirm that this also works for the fido/rogers version of this phone which I assumed it would. This thread should be titled with or should state in the OP that its for the UL version of this phone....or the North American GSM version. Much thanks for the development and word of future development.

Yeah 1.2 made me loop as well. At least I know it wasn't the rom now. Will reflash 1.1 and the rom to continue testing. Thanks for letting me know morepr, I'm at work so I couldn't fiddle around with it.

Where I am flattered that people want to "use" things from this rom....Just be courteous enough to ASK to use first before just taking,we already lost a good source and great developer because of this...Thank you
Pirateghost and I have been working on these....couple different versions for different tastes....Another beta coming at you, this one is just stock tweaked everything...no ciq anywhere in the rom....Have to clean up the xml....boot img is included for you to flash first then load rom....If does not boot...use this kernel...also is cleaned of ciq. I use this one personally...Ive not warmed up to the 3.5ui yet....

Flashed the rom - sweet so far.
I'm not in a LTE area yet, so had to load up the other APN settings.
SMS are good too go.
GPS (Google maps) is excellent (fast and dead on)
Bluetooth also good to go.
No issues to report
Im not in an lte area either,no apn's needed...need to have your sim switched and your data plan to an lte plan...if theres connection issues....i had no data because of plan not being switched over....

Did not have to do anything with sim card.
can anyone with with an unlimited data plan verify if the stock hotspot app works without the "call to order tethering" message?
this is a stock rom, only tweaked, removed bloatware and de ciq'd...shouldnt be an issue

cool, that was what I did.
Oh, also the app News is FCing (process com.htc.googlereader)
also the HTC Wifi Hotspot still asks for AT&T tether plan, my guess is they put a modded at&t version in the stock ROM. It may need to be swapped out with a HTC Raider Wifi Hotspot to work (this is my guess)

nice!
I tried this rom and have to say it is pretty good. I love that you have the sense 4 theme on it.
One possible issue: I used the kozmikkernel in the aroma installer and did notice one random reboot so far but other then that its a good ROM.
Keep up the great work!

Im using the vivid can i flash this rom...sorry for the bad question...htc is always so confusing to me....just so use to samsung...
Not to bad, its pretty quick and has the wonderful stock look. Though stock isnt always my fav., this is great for anyone looking for a stable fast build.
FYI:
Just a tip. After trying this ROM, it can be a pain to flash a new one. I think because its 'stock' it has a secured boot.img or something. So, when I went to flash another ROM, it failed at the flashing the new boot (failing with this error: assert failed: write_raw_image("/tmp/newboot.img", "boot")). Doing some research I found this out, and the solution is to flash another ROM (or kernel) as I did because a simple kernel replace didnt work for me. The ROM that did is the elegancia 2.5.0. After flashing the ROM, I booted it, then booted back into recovery and flashed new ROM free of error.

More information? Like, are you S-ON? If so, you need to do the extra set of instructions of doing fastboot flash boot.img (something like that), after flashing the ROM. Otherwise it will just loop (fail).
If you are S-OFF, make sure to wipe everything in the wipe menu (like dalvik cache, cache, boot, system and data). Try a different SD card as well (sometimes old files can make things go weird). Then do wipe in the aroma installer too. It should now work.
I had no problems installing either ROMS on OP. Although just a BUG for Velocity ROM: I get hot reboots when using the GPS. Nothing major, but if you need GPS, careful. GREAT ROM otherwise though, solid.

so @szezso, does this mean that we have an ION Kernel for our device.?
will we have Fully At Limit of Performance CM10.2 (a.k.a. JB 4.3) ROM on our device.?
p.s. your a fu#king GENIUS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
..
This is amazing for such an old device. Not only did you bring a very nice 4.2.2 cm rom, but this is amazing!
Guys what a fantastic breakthrough this is, I, on a personal level, know exactly how many countless hours szezso has put into this amazing rom. Now all of us have to do something for him in return, if you guys on your laptop or pc or browser mode could all click the 'Tip Us' button near the top right of the page, it will send this thread to Xda News, everyone let's make this rom showcased to all on XDA by clicking Tip Us! Woot

The ION kernel is still very much a WIP as stated in title. A lot of things are still broken but I'm sure Szeszo will work out the kinks.
The Second question I didn't really quite understand but I assume you asked will we have any limits in relation to performance on future Jellybean builds? And the answer to that is probably yes. I think the thing limiting us is the actual hardware itself, sadly :/

Nope. In order to fastboot the boot.img, you are required to run the command from ADB on your computer. Also while in bootloader mode, the only things you can access are the options that are visible in the bootloader ie. recovery, fastboot, blah blah blah
Correct me if I'm wrong though.

[Sprint/Virgin Mobile] [Kernel] Stock Desire 510 [Write Protection Removed]

Hello everyone,
Today we just got something super cool, a custom kernel for our desire 510. Its only working on vm and sprint models but basically this is just a stock kernel for now with no goodies other than write protect being removed.
[Disclaimer]I'm not responsible for anything that happens as a result of this pending flash. Do not cry to me if your phone goes up in flames or if your wife leaves you due to you being addicted to your phone.
I take no credit for the actual kernel build or anything like that. All credit goes to rbheromax. The kernel is currently being edited and uploaded. ETA is about an hour or so.
Instructions:
Pull the battery and put it back in then press and hold vol - and pwr.
When in hboot navigate to the fastboot option and click the pwr button.
When in fastboot connect your phone and on your pc press and hold shift and right click your downloads folder. Then click open command prompt here.
Next type fastboot flash boot b.img and tap enter.
Done!!!

A few things you CAN remove are the voicemail app, Mobile ID, Htc Mobile Guide, KeyVPN, Lumen Toolbar, Polaris Office and i believe thats all. Im not to sure about the qualcomm app. I would keep it just to be safe.

Ok thank you.
So,this is mean i can get back my phone and its boot or i never will get it boot again?
Sorry for bad english...
Apps I have removed without issues.
I actually uninstalled the qulacomm app and phone still works just fine. I also removed, HTC guide, HTC gallery, HTC dot view, HTC service pack, HTC blink feed, Messaging Plus, Lumen Toolbar, Stock internet browser, Anything involving google besides framework and play store (redownloaded apps to let them be a user app to move to SD card.)... A few others I can't remember as well, But what is interesting is that after removing all of that bloat... I really don't have that much internal space available still.......... Getting sick of phones with storage issues.. A smartphone can only be as smart as the apps installed on it.. But yet after my crucial 25 apps I have no storage space to install anything else. :/

Its alright . And if you can download the eu source and build the stock kernel sure. If you dont know how to you might have to wait till someone picks up the eu model and makes a custom kernel for that your model. I dont currently have that model. Let me ask my buddy if he can build you a stock eu kernel.

Good for All carriers??
I noticed that the screen shots show Cricket as the carrier.
Will this ROM work on Virgin Mobile and others??
Also, will the ROM open up the micro SIM slot for GSM carriers?
Thanks for the efforts!
Also curious about Virgin Mobile Support
How much free space does this leave you with in the end?

No, the Sprint/VM/Boost version lacks GSM radios entirely AFAIK and only supports Sprint bands (ugh, I know). I wish I had picked up the Cricket version...
...but there it is.
OP: I recommend setting up a standard Android build environment, extracting the blobs from the phone, and using the kernel source to build an AOSP-based ROM. I'm working on doing this with CM code for the Sprint variant.

Sweet!
I have the Sprint 510, how much of you guyses efforts can be combined and how much of it is carrier dependent? I'm only just getting into ROM flashing stuff on an M7, but it seems like a lot of it is device/carrier specific.
Hell yeah man!!! Thank you! I hate sense!!! I hate it i hate it i hate it!!! Please do let me know when you figure a flashable zip! Thanks man
I can perhaps tell you the format of flashing. I believe you create some scripts in c(main language for building android). The scripts would point to where the custom modified apps would need to be.
@cravingCritic
here is a link to a working META-INF to flash ROMs
i cant seem to get wifi to work after flash (missing symlink or maaybe wrong perms)
format /system BEFORE flashing, script wont do it, nor will it if you add it to the script (that'll make it fail)

I'm down for the countdown. Should be 4 minutes in when this sends. Also look at timeStamp. I am an app developer, and this phone barely has enough memory to hold my apps resources. Gah.
your missing a symlink in your updater-script
This is the symlink your missing
symlink("/system/lib/modules/pronto/pronto_wlan.ko", "/system/lib/modules/wlan.ko");
I had the same issue when i started on my rom until i realized the wifi module wasn't being symlinked and loaded Also, i have a custom kernel with write protection removed, you have my permission to post a link in your OP.
And here is the link, just be sure to include credits.
