Droid Turbo Stylus - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Accessories

So I picked up a pretty cool stylus for the Droid Turbo. Well, it's for any touchscreen, but I really like this one on the phone. I bought it initially for my nexus 7 for gaming, and it was great for that, and I just tried using it on my phone and found that it worked very well.
The amPen stylus tip is replaceable (also available on amazon) and for me, lasts for a long time. I would highly recommend.

Holster?

Hey guys. Anybody find a sturdy Holster for the D3? I had this one for my OG Droid and Droid 2. 'course, Moto changed it up in a major way this time. Seidio's going to take forever to come out with cases. Anybody find anything similar out there?
A friend of mine bought one from Verizon, it seemed very sturdy. It also had a cool vertical/horizontal kick stand. Its called Shell/Holster Combo. Just go to Verizon's website and search "Shell/Holster Combo Droid 3", since I can't link ya here.

I bought this same one. It is also compatible with the dock, which was not the case for my OG Droid. The stand comes in handy at work, where I don't have a dock too.
Took a look at it, adds too much bulk imo. I like my phones naked.

This is what you want. I got mine Saturday and it is very similar to what I had for the Droid 1.

Agreed. When I first got the phone, I was not happy with the bulk. Adding a case to it seemed like a terrible idea. I have gotten used to it tho, I don't mind it as much.

I had the shell/holster combo and didn't care for the extra bulk it added to the phone. I was getting used to it but showing the phone to a few Droid/Droid 2 owners they thought it was HUGE and heavy in comparison....and I think the shell contributed to a lot of that.
I also didn't care for the slide in/out of the holster as I was used to use the "holster only" type case on my OG Droid. When I got the new "holster only" clip and removed the shell from my Droid 3......I was extremely pleased with the now thinner, lighter Droid 3 I was using I was surprised at how much the shell added extra overall to the Droid 3.
I got the Qmadix one

Some Active Stylus work on the 7

I have been looking through all the posts from people with the rubber tip stylus no one has mentioned that active stylus work most say they wont...
However my old stylus from my Xyboard works just fine on my Nexus 7.
I only did a little digging around and am just chalking it up to luck that some type of active stylist works on the nexus. I remember reading up on my Xyboard that the stylus only functioned on that device since it didn't work on the 8.1 xyboard or any other touch screens.
I did try to use pressure setting inside of Photoshop with no luck, so pressure doesn't function. I also tried LectureNotes with different stylist only options. So I'm thinking its working just as my old Xyboard as a touch input only. Still happier with a hard tip stylus than a rubber tip one.
is this the stylus?

Yes that is the one that I have been using on my nexus. Ordering another today for my girl friends tablet.

Does the active stylus work any better than a capacitive one? What are the benefits. Price is kinda steep, I had an Adonit Jot and didn't really like it. Anything wider than a standard pen or pencil feels too big and bulky for me. The elago stylus looks cool.

So what is the benefit of using this over as opposed to a regular one?
Ordered 1 anyway since it looks cool, hope it is worth it
The Xyboard stylus is just a battery operated capacitive stylus. It triggers touch events on capacitive screens with a hard small tip through the use of the battery. It isn't any more accurate than your finger or a non-battery (soft/broad tipped) stylus.
Before someone asks, no, a Wacom stylus does not work, including that included in the Galaxy Note.
Got the HTC St c400 and it doesn't work at all.

Stylus suggestions

I have been looking for a stylus for this device. However I can't decide on a stylus to purchase. I have read the verge review for the stylus for Ipads. However i was wondering if anyone could give some insight as to the stylus you use. It would be much appreciated.

here was my search for stylus
at the end i realized that the cheap dollar one is good enough for my use
i also got a smith and Wesson tactical stylus that you can technically use it for self defense (i was able to pop a basketball with the stylus)
I like the Kuel H10
I've been using the targus stylus from Wal-Mart feels nice in the hand and has the width of a nice feeling pen , I'll upload a picture cost around $13 but they go on sale from time to time.

Loving my HAND Stylus using it right now.

I'm using the Applydea Maglus, very very nice feel and a great tip but still a bit heavy in use, it replaced the Kensington Virtuoso Touch I got first that didn't live up to expectations.
This 1 seems very nice...

I like the BoxWave Evertouch:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1389517282&pf_rd_i=507846
It's not the cheapest stylus available, but it uses a mesh for the tip instead of rubber and that makes it glide really smoothly along the screen. Plus I liked that it was pen-sized and had multiple colors to choose from. There are better styluses out there, but they tend to cost a lot more. I thought this was a good middle of the road option. So far it's held up well, and I got it right after the first batches of Nexus 7's started to ship and use it every day.

I'm using the Boxwave stylus as well. It feels like the tip is softer than a traditional, cheap capacitive stylus. I hardly use a stylus because of the lack of precision.
I have thought about finding a way to "firm" up the stylus tip, but I'm concerned about the input detection "skipping" with a smaller contact area.
Using the cosmonaut.

I was really looking into the Maglus, however, my main question was if the magnetization worked on the Nexus7. I would assume it doesn't. That was a concern for me before ordering it.
I will look into the others mentioned in this thread.

The magnet on the stylus is very strong but there's nowhee on the nexus for it to attach, luckily my case has a metal closure that the styus clamps onto perfectly.

The tip of mine started out pretty firm but has softened over time (after playing a ton of beat-the-bajeesus out of the screen tapping games.) It doesn't really affect how I use it though, I can still press buttons without having to tap with a lot of pressure or anything like that. If you're looking for a smaller contact area than the BoxWave probably definitely isn't the best. I don't know of any cheap small contact styluses though, only the expensive Jot line. I think the Wacom Bamboo had a smaller tip and wasn't crazy expensive, but I've never used it so I don't know how good it is. Hopefully better than the BoxWave since it costs more.
I just ordered MiniSuit Stylus $3.95 Prime

Looks very similar to the Jot pen. But if it cost $10, I'll buy it. Jot cost $25.

I like it so far, it works great with my N7 and makes Swype a lot easier. The only issue that I have is the length of the stylus. I think, at under $4.00 its a great buy though.
I've got the jot and jot pro... they both suck... hit or miss all the time... totally bummed with these
Just got the Jot and found it to be the opposite... Spot on! Mind you i did try several different note taking apps before settling on Writepad which seems to work well with the Jot

Thanks for keeping this phone awesome. However it's time for me to move on.

I got a 16GB Nexus 4.
The Exhibit II worked great to good for the year I owned it. Thanks to the community I was able to enjoy the latest and greatest features.
However I just feel it's time for me to get something with a beefier screen and hardware. I believe I took this phone as far as I could go with it.
Now is time to put it up for sale and hope someone else can get use of this phone.
Any good custom roms that auto update or are finalized that I should throw on the phone before selling it?
This has really opened me up to roms and tweaking. I'm sure in time I will mess with my Nexus 4 too. So far it has been a really solid phone for me.
I just need a good case and screen protector as sometimes I can get butter fingers.
Thanks for making my Exhibit II awesome.
I may peek in time to time. See ya!
Good luck with the N4, enjoy it!
For screen protectors, check out xtremeguard. They're wet-application protectors; the one on my Exhibit hasn't come off in the 6 or so months I've had it on, and it looks great- my sister got a set for her new N4 (So jealous). Definitely get the back protector too. Enjoy your phone!
P.S. Try the coupon code 'memorial' at checkout
Hey, thanks a million! Sweet.
As far as cases.... Thinking of either the Ballistic case or KaysCase ArmorBox. I also need a belt clip.
So far I am loving it. While I did enjoy the Exhibit II. The Nexus 4 is freaking smooth.
Alright....
For a case I went with the JKase DIABLO Series Tough Rugged Dual Layer Protection Case Cover with Build in Stand for LG Google Nexus 4: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AY2OP2I?tag=at055-20 which is a clone of the ArmourDillo Hybrid Protective Case.
Also got the Google Nexus 4 Vertical Bergamo Leather Case with Fixed Belt Clip: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AD69P6G?tag=at055-20
Now just waiting for Monoprice to get some of there premium slim usb cables in stock: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=9762&seq=1&format=2
Also have this 9000 mAh charger: http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10831&cs_id=1083110&p_id=9531&seq=1&format=2
Think that should do it.
Hope the usb port on the Nexus 4 is tough. I kinda almost tried to plug the usb cable in upside down when I was half asleep half awake. Whoops. Well I did try it the correct way first but being new it was still a little tough the first few times plugging it in.
Considering one of those usb docks. Unless there is any cheaper wireless chargers out there?

How's the Size

hello guys,
I am currently contemplating on whether or not to purchase the Nexus 6. I currently have a Nexus 4 now, had it ever since launch. With the recent price cut, I a tempted to try out the Nexus 6! The only thing holding me back is the size, I am a fairly slim guy and wear fitted pants (not super skinny, but slim). Would I have trouble carry this thing around? And do you think the phone is worth 499, or are there better options out there.
Thank you for the input
J.
The phone is a great size, fits in pants really well. I can fully hold the phone with 1 hand when checking notifications, but my thumb does not reach the notification bar easily, so I use Nova Launcher swipe down gesture for easier access (I don't even realize it now. It was never a big issue for me in the first place).
If your pants are on the slim side, I would not recommend the Nexus, especially if you carry your wallet in your front (opposite) pocket like me.I workout and have bigger than normal thighs, and carrying my phone and wallet in front pockets (in my relaxed fit pants) and my pants stretch out, sometimes they feel uncomfortable (too tight).
But never have I thought about giving up this phone, it's just go amazing.
The deciding factor, since you said you are skinny, is if you can easily fit your hand in your pants pocket. If you can, get the phone. If your hand is tight in your pocket, where you have to kind of force your hand in, then get a smaller phone, that will be easier to take in/out of your pocket(s).
Phone always in my back pocket. I even sat on it so many times and this phone is solid like a rock. 2 words. GET IT.
At first it will seem big. After a few days you will have no issues except the size of your pockets!
All the basic functions can be used with one hand.
It is a great smartphone (allthough i wish it had more phablet apps/usage like note series)
Get the phone and then go get bigger pockets lol. It's worth it.
At first I was skeptical but then I bit the bullet and ordered one for my Project Fi tryout. I love this mammoth of phone and the 6" screen stands out when you view pictures, don't know why but it just appear to be very immersive.
Went from the Nexus 4 to the Big 6! Yeah, for the first day it feels large. But you quickly get used to it. There's so much made of its size. But compared to my wife's HTC M8. There's not really that much difference. The only down side I feel is the forced encryption nexus 6 for us who no longer feel the need to root or flash from stock. Should have been optional.
Besides that, the extra screen size is a great edition as I now no longer feel I need to replace my aging GTab2. That takes car of my ebooks and car sat nav. The Nexus 6 is everything else.
