How to Install:
Peform a full nandroid backup.
Note that this firmware will NOT function properly with another kernel.
If you already have the full 28A bootstack and are running TWRP 2.8.5.1 or higher, you may skip the next step.
Flash the 28A bootstack found in the VS980 Resources thread in this forum.
Wipe data/cache within twrp. You should leave internal storage alone. If you fail perform this step and have any issues while running the firmware, start this whole install process again and follow this step before posting.
Flash the latest firmware version below after verifying the md5.
If you plan on using ART (and ONLY if), you should also flash the patch below or you will have constant IMS service restarts. Keep in mind that flashing this disables Verizon Advanced Calling. There is a revert zip if you wish to go back to Dalvik and want Advanced Calling.
Kernel options:
This is a trimmed down kernel built for speed/stability/efficiency. I'm not interested in a bloated kernel with every governor/module/cherry pick du jour and never will be. I prefer using my phone, not obsessing over countless "tweaks".
Turn on CAF touchboost by creating /sdcard/touchboost file and rebooting. If the file is empty, boost freq is 1036800 Hz. If you want a different one, just put the value inside the text file (no spaces). Valid options are (422400, 652800, 729600, 883200, 960000, 1036800, 1190400, 1267200, 1497600, 1574400, 1728000, 1958400, 2265600). If you don't know what touchboost is, search.
Switch to Interactive governor by creating /sdcard/interactive file and rebooting. This will also enable a kernel-based hotplug governor (thanks to @show-p1984) that works better with this governor.
Enable SEAndroid permissive mode by creating /sdcard/permissive file and rebooting.
If you wish to restore data using Titanium Backup or some other app, you are welcome to do so, but if you encounter problems, you must follow these steps again WITHOUT restoring data before posting.

Firmware/Patches:
XDABBEB's VS982.5 1.2.0
ART patch
Restore/Revert:
Restore Download Mode - only needed if you had flashed an older bootstack zip that enabled fastboot. Keep in mind this is a 26a laf partition and will only work paired with a 26a bootloader
ART patch revert
Add-ons:
20 dip Navbar
24 dip Navbar
30 dip Navbar
36 dip Navbar
42 dip Navbar
My Patch - This is a zip I flash on my phone after the main install. It sets the default system dpi to 424, sets the default runtime to ART (and switches it if you've already booted with dalvik), installs the 30dpi navbar and changes the status and navigation bars (centered clock, LP icons, battery percentage to right if on). Keep in mind that the initial boot will take a while due to the art compiler.
LG Extras - These aren't needed and are only provided as a courtesy without support. I did create a launcher/shortcut apk for the LG Health app, however, so it can be used as a standalone app. If you just want to flash that, remove everything but the 4 LGMyWellness files.

Well, I'm I'll and running. No issues updating. Booted right up. Everything seems to be working so far. Don't have too much time tonight to play. Couple things i have noticed so far:
1) I hear an audible click when exiting either camera app. Haven't noticed it with any other apps.
2) I use Google Voice for my voice mail and turn on the feature to integrate it into the call log. I am unable click on a voice mail too hear it. This is par for the course for the stock Verizon roms, but i was excited when it worked on CloudyG3. Is this a function of Verizon/CDMA?
Awesome work. Looking forward to playing around some more.

EDIT: I found a minor bug with the phone fc'ing when dismissing ringer via gesture and then hitting the power button. Will be fixed in next release.

This is an awesome ROM love love love love it! One thing I noticed, on the lock screen setting, for displaying the weather on the lockscreen. It asks for what location (which I enter) but it looks like it doesn't save? Anyone else have this issue?

You need to be using the stock launcher while setting it. Then you can switch to another like nova, etc.

Not sure if this is an issue or not, but once disconnecting from Wifi, 3G will come up .. but it will state no internet connection .. and then it switches over to LTE and I get the same message .. no internet connection. Re-starting data fixes it ... has anyone else experienced this?

I experienced something similar exactly once...after booting with wifi enabled I turned off wifi and though mobile data "appeared" to be connected I didn't have an IP so obviously it was useless. No need to reboot if this happens to you, however. Just toggle airplane mode. This should only occur on initial boot and only under VERY specific conditions (namely, a particularly slow MN handshake). In other words, this won't happen at random after you're booted.
In the future, please provide a log with anything of this nature or there's nothing much I can do. You'd need to capture it pretty quickly as well.

Thread cleaned at OP request
The op has stated that this discussion thread is for development, Questions and troubleshooting should be in the Q&A thread.
Things that belong in here are bug reports WITH LOGCATS, without them you are basically saying "I cant get this to work, please fix it for me" without actually giving any useful info.

Try asking at link I quoted above first. Dev is trying to keep this for development only. If there's others with same issues then try explaining it better so it can be of more help. But many including myself have been fine with the camera so it looks like just a one person issue. Either way ask in q&a

PLEASE BE SURE TO WIPE SYSTEM & DATA/CACHE (FACTORY RESET) WHEN COMING FROM AMAZON STOCK SOFTWARE.
(It's the "Wipe" button and then "System" and then "Factory Reset" button in TWRP -- this does NOT clear your sdcard space)
Be aware that the "sdcard" space has changed slightly from ICS to JB4.2. You will find your stock amazon OS files in /data/media/ or "sdcard" on the Stock OS. But CM10.1 will create a sub directory "/data/media/0" and call that "sdcard". And in TWRP it will also use "data/media/0" as "sdcard". This has to do with multi-user settings. So when placing files on the "sdcard" be sure to check both locations before wondering why that file is missing.
CHANGES:
[11/15] SElinux now included in the kernel and set to permissive. I don't recommend turning it to enforcing as I'm still debugging the "deny" messages.
[08/12] Includes a Trebuchet patch to fix the screen flip-flop when trying to drag an icon in landscape (by XDA user Wickets^)
[08/12] All new "from source" sensor driver
[08/12] Temp. disable light sensor (due to recode of sensor driver)
[07/31] First CM10.2 build
FEATURES:
3.0.50 kernel (up from a stock 3.0.21 kernel). This includes updates from Texas Instruments, Google and Kernel.org.
PowerVR Graphics Drivers: DDK [email protected] for Android (Jellybean compatible)
Updated bltsville libs to 2.2.2.0 (this is partial screen update code which enables smoother / faster screen draws)
Audio
Camera
Wifi
Bluetooth
Sensors
HWAcceleration
HD Codecs for YouTubeHD and Netflix
HDMI video out is now correct and work across several resolutions. YMMV
DEVS
BUILDING THIS ROM:
First, read through Google's Android website about "how to setup a build environment":
http://source.android.com/source/initializing.html
[ COMING SOON ]
SCREEN SHOTS:
CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES:
When long pressing icons in landscape mode to move them, etc the screen will flip upside down for a moment and right itself. This causes the action to be aborted.
Rotation selection in games is hit and miss. Some work perfectly and some like to flip the device upside down. Still debugging what is causing this.
AUDIO: Any decoder which uses Dolby surround current has a lower volume than the rest of the system (Netflix, Google Movies, etc). It's a WIP.
Sensors: Testing various sensors, gyro seems 90 degrees off, etc.
I don't have an LTE version so this is not enabled in current builds.
Are you going to keep on developing both this and the 4.2.2 ROM? Or should we switch to this ROM for the newest updates in the future?
By the way, thanks very much for all the effort you are putting in developing for and improving our devices. We all really appreciate it.

Same here.
I am thinking about building the rom with LTE (hash says the code is all there) from the source. But I haven't used Linux from 2010 and have to setup the gear for doing this...em...
I also would like to get 4g LTE working. If you could dust off linux and put your skills to work, I am sure many will appreciate your efforts!
I am working on an experimental built for LTE users.
As soon as I get a ROM built, I'll post it up. There is a 100% chance that it's going to take quite a few tries to get it working. So not for the easily irritated.

Double check you're flashing the right GApps.
There seems to be an issue with the 'sdcard' link under Root - It is currently pointing at /data/media/legacy instead of /data/media/0 - This is causing some issues with apps that default to 'sdcard' including TitaniumBackup. Also, there is a 'Storage' under Root that points somewhere, which is causing issues with apps that default to '/storage' for their backup.
Status of this rom on my Kindle:
- as mentioned in changelog games are slower then on 10.1
- on 10.1 and 10.2 there are ocassions the screen rotation bug is still occuring. It happens within some games and after rotating in mx player.
Thanks and keep up your excellent work.
hi,
i'm new with Kindle Fire HD. tried this rom too and i think its very good :fingers-crossed:
gapps failure
Interesting issue going on here. i upgraded to this build (10.2-20130731-UNOFFICIAL-jem, and the latest Gapps to go with it. Note that i did not do a complete wipe, as i wanted the installed apps to remain. Upon reboot, i have a notification from pretty much every app i have installed on the device that "update for "(application name) could not be downloaded due to an error. (error retrieving information from server.[RPC:S-5:AEC-0]) i ge the same error if i try to download anything from the play store also. any thoughts?
Edit: restored back to previous backup, allowed all updates to take place first, then redownloaded the rom and gapps. A quick reflash using goo manager and everything seems to be working now. @Hashcode - another fantastic rom. only issue i still have the the screen rotation when long pressing icons in landscape mode. a very small price to pay for all the awesomeness.

Early stage guide for Kit Kat 4.4 | Please read before posting in Kit Kat ROM threads
************************************************** ***************************************************
Hi there,
As we get more and more Kit Kat ROMs I've decided to create this thread. In every ROM thread, the same questions are asked so I think it would be useful to collect the most important questions into a central location so the other threads don’t become tedious and difficult to read. If I forgot something or you have any suggestions, please let me know.
@moderators
If I'm in the wrong section please move my thread.
If there is a similar thread (I didn't find one) please close this one.
UPDATE: kk 4.4 factory image out now
hangouts and messaging are in. the normal email app is in too. Don't know if it's the aosp one.
for new google launcher:
1. Google Search http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...y-fixes-gel-on-tablets-and-more-apk-download/
2. Experience Launcher http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...once-you-get-your-kitkat-update-apk-download/
Install in this order the goto 16
after that it looks like the n5 port.
1. Features
All currently available builds are in an early state. This means that a lot of the customization you had in 4.3 ROMs are not available at the moment. The devs are working on it.
2. What isn’t working in all 4.4 ROMs
Binaries released. So everything should working.
3. Dalvik Runtime and ART
A new feature has been implemented in Kit Kat called ART (Android Runtime). What is it? Take a look at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2516303
credits to: @freebordjunky
4. Which one should I choose?
It's your own decision! ART is faster than Dalvik from my personal experience. You can switch between runtimes:
settings -> developer options -> select runtime
5. Does ART have any requirements?
Yes. Two important things you should notice:
a.)
If you switch to ART you have to reboot. During the reboot, your device switches from using Dalvik Runtime to ART. This may take a while.
IMPORTANT
You may have a lot FC 's in GAPPS. Why? This happens when you have flashed the wrong GAPPS package. To work properly you have to flash an Odex GAPPS package. You will find this here from @#gnome: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508185
If you want to know more about odex and deodex - ask google
b.)
Some apps are still not working on ART and no known workaround is available. Three apps that I know of are Foursquare, Whatsapp and Titanium Backup (tested 6.10).
WhatsApp Workaround credits to @luiseteyo :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527879
6. GAPPS packages
There are different packages available. It’s all up to preference.
Deodex
1. AOSP launcher and stock Messaging
2. Google Experience Launcher and Hangouts for SMS
Odex (ART)
1. AOSP launcher and stock Messaging
2. Google Experience Launcher and Hangouts for SMS
7. Is this faster than…
Sorry guys. How do I score this? Every configuration is different and so often there are individual experiences so... try, try, try until you find the right one for you.
8. Custom kernels
Binaries released. So kernels will come.
IMPORTANT
If you have screen issues, flash the CM colorfix. It's available here on xda, just use search.
9. SMS & Hangouts
To import SMS from other ROMs, first restore messages using TiBu or SMS Backup & Restore to the AOSP Messaging app. After this you can activate Hangouts as the default SMS app. It should then import your messages. Maybe it's necessary to clear hangout's cache after that.
10. Factory images and binaries
Released
11. Errors during flashing
If you got errors during flashing you have to try another custom recovery. In TWRP there were some problems with version 2.6.3. Upgrade to the latest version (2.6.3.2) to get rid of the errors.
TWRP here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/mako
12. Is Viper audio working?
Yes. It may be necessary to uninstall musicfx and / or dsp manager.
Please use chainfire's supersu for viper audio. You have to enable compatible mode in viper.
13. Icons are big
You can change this via build.prop editor. Edit this entry: ro.sf.lcd_density
Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nathan.jf.build.prop.editor
14. Enable Google Now
Press long and hold on a free area on your homescreen.Select Settings and enable Google Now
15. Dalvik Optimization
From Moto X device extracted dalvik optimization binaries. It will increase speed.

I have disconnect bluetooth issues when streaming in the car. Pebble keeps reconnecting every 15 mins or so. I live on bluetooth because of these two things. In every 4.4 port/rom, it's the same missing libs IMO. So no go for me for now. I am getting a N5, in a few weeks, but wanted to check out KK. Other than the BT issue, the port is a great port! Smooth, and launcher works perfectly! But because of my need of BT I have revered back to my PA 3.99 since last night and BT connection hasn't discoed at all since then.
Thank you !

I am getting BT drops as well. Seems to be after leaving the screen off for a while. It reconnects as soon as turn the screen back on.
I have also had quite a few dropped calls but can't be certain that this wasn't the network.

Thanks for the tips on how to get ART working. I've honestly never used Android with this smoothness before, it's amazing.
You should use bold fonts for the title so more people will notice.

[ROM] [5.1] ROM+KERNEL AOSP bionic/graphite - Liscio Fast Forward

Hi, based on former experience I am happy to present 4.4.3 Liscio Fast Forward. Few modifications which were carefully chosen. Feel free to post your feature request here but be aware this will always stay as close as possible to stock.
Please flash this with Gapps of your choice. I used BaNkS (GApps.Core)

My Github to access the source:

I can not take any responsibility damaging your device or alarm clock which will not come off. If you decide to flash my ROM, you are getting responsible yourself. Have a functioning Nandroid in case something goes wrong.

Root doesn't seem to be working, went in to superuser and tried flipping it disabled and then back to app and adb with no luck. Flashed the latest SuperSU in the meantime. Otherwise so far so good, and it is probably the fastest/most fluid rom I've tried ART on so far.
LOL, and it put me back to stock recovery... Ahh, not sure if you meant to leave it in there, but stock recovery is in the rom zip.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Interesting about the root and stock recovery. Anybody else having these issues? I had a look and found the same source tree after compilation than in my Hammerhead folder....did you open a Terminal and executed $su to see if the superuser is working? I usually do and found no issues. I will check and see what other users say..
Hi, updated one line in the Android.mk for the Superuser. New version is up and can be downloaded. Hope improves your issues on SU. I have none on my Hammer.....
UPDATE - SU is not working. Just compiling new version. Give me 30 minutes.
How is the battery life on this? Are you using stock kernel?
CaN this be run on dalvik as I'm using xposed modules

Please feedback if ok now - Nice Sunday

Stock recovery is still in the zip file, unless I'm totally off base here... But it did put me back to stock recovery again.
And I still get a Sorry test failed, feature cannot run on your device when I try to activate Root access in things like ES File Explorer.

Hi, nevermind on the recovery. You will stay on what you had before. For the root, did you download the latest version? I can compile from scratch in case the modification was not implemented. I am just puzzled since I had 0 problems on my Hammerhead build (and old Mako 4.2.2).

No, in terms of recovery, when I flashed the rom it also flashed stock recovery. So, it got rid of CWM and put me on stock recovery. And yes, I downloaded the latest rom and still had root issues.

Hi, I do not know how to help as I never had recovery problems on my ROMs. I also re-compiled and flashed on my Hammerhead and recovery remained TWRP...hope other users can report something. I also pm'ed you to get more information. I recommend you flash Googles 4.4.2 factory image and then TWRP and my ROM (or any other ROM). Then the baseline should be ok. Head up, it can not be a big issue...

I have had no issues with my recovery being wiped. I am using milti-rom though if that makes a difference.
Great rom by the way. I love the smoothness.
It just feels slightly smoother than other roms when scrolling in google+ and the xda app, and I havent switched to art yet.
Hey sir I've been trying several Roms all of them fast but this one has a slight advantage, I am liking it very much, will you add any more features that won't sacrifice the speed, is cm theming possible on aosp?

Oh I failed to mention there is one issue that I'm having, my GPS won't locate locations, so navigation is not working, but has always worked on other Roms, anyone else experiencing this? Is it possible to include LTE to permanently stay and is it possible to change the 4g icon to LTE

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback. First of all, does the embedded superuser work?
I will look into the location problem......
Update: Checked location on my Hammerhead and works. Since we use the same source tree, I suppose should work on Mako too. If really not, I need to change the vendor files.
I think it may not be working because I can't use root access on file manager, as far as GPS, it worked when I was outside so it may not be an issue but it normally works when I'm inside as well

I don't want to be a prick, but you can't put gapps in a oasp (cm) based ROM, for the simple reason that you are not licensed by Google...

Background data
Hey,
I was using the 5.0 ROM in your other thread (on a T-Mobile variant) and noticed very high background data usage for the stock browser. I had only viewed a single webpage and than went to sleep yet it used 158 MB of background data. Just reporting it to ya.
GPS wouldn't turn off either as you can see from the SS.

Thanks for letting me know...already fixed the AOSP browser issue (by replacing it with chrome) and found that some library components in the system partition were missing causing GPS to act a little weird (working on a fix)
After getting it, do I need to install a gapps? If yes, which one?
Running great on my s5 except the camera which was pointed out in the op. Thank you I'll continue to use this and wait for cm to iron out the few issues .. Thanks for the lollipop build .

Your welcome...I greatly appreciate your support....I will be releasing multiple bug fix updates over the next few day (including one today) to iron out all the bugs
When i flash i get a mount error
Mount: Failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.
1/by-name/userdata at /data: device or resource busy
Edit: It still flashes but i just wanted to point that error out.
I don't have a file browser/manager app?
Also, the Dutch translation of "Type a name or phone number" looks really weird in the dialer app, it's so long it's stretched to the next line, but the search box doesn't expand.

[E6683/E6653][Single/Dsds][ROM][CLANG][7.1.1][Themes]PixN Rom [3/01/17]

PixN Rom** Theme friendly ** Better Camera ** exFAT ** Optimized kernel ** Substratum ** Clang ** Custom Settings **
This is my daily driver which I update occasionally depending on weather I need/want new features. There won't be any OTA's because of work. Do please also check the Credits section, and the Screenshots tab.
I do not have a single sim device, however I have compiled kernels for the single sim and dual sim variant both.
The kernel thread has now been split to be here since the kernel gets more updates than the rom (for now atleast).
This project has been renamed to show the my first forays into more *real* development.
Please use the Feature Request tab for feature inclusion requests.
It's also very hard to keep track of bugs reported here in the comments so please, again, use the bug reports tab...
I'm very thankful to everyone commenting, it's just hard to keep track sometimes, and seeing as DevDB has all the features required...
Since I also use XDA Labs which has no DevDB support it'd be best to comment AND add the comment in the required DevDB tab..

Installation Instructions
Eventually these will be flashable zips, however right now they're causing an error (IOError: [Errno 28] No space left on device)
So for now install by fastboot
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_3.0.2.img
I don't recommend wiping userdata via fastboot so if you want you can always factory reset or clear Data, Cache, Dalvik and System from TWRP.
EDIT:- People having trouble flashing the system.img should try with mfastboot (fix found by @katibehi)
Downloads
The DevDB downloads are for the system.img and boot.img files only. They're in 7z cuz otherwise I can't upload them.
Get the latest kernel from the PixN kernel thread here.
Beta Release 1.999

MAJOR RELEASE. Go get it.

Bugs squashed. Notably the reboot.
Beta Release 4
Biggest YET!! Most feature complete rom around.
Beta Release 5
Bigger than ever (feature wise). First and only 7.1.1 build for our devices. Happy New Year!
Sadly this release is not on DevDB.. Since DevDB won't finish attaching files as of 1st Jan and I don't even know if it'll be back. I'm really hoping for a basketbuild account, cuz then I'll be able to serve OTA's. Anyway.
For now due to popular demand this release, Release 5 is uploaded to MEGA.
Beta Release 5.5
Still on MEGA.

Beta Release6, 7
Mega again... Until DevDB is back up assume all future releases to be on MEGA for now.

FAQ/Frequent Statements
Q0: When ${THING}?
A0: No ETAs. Don't ask.
Q1: You list my phone above but there isn't a build uploaded, why not?
A1: Haven't gotten around to it yet.
Q2: But when will you get to building it?
A2: Damn it, see Q0/A0.
Q3: How often will builds be produced?
A3: Whenever I get to them and feel like uploading.
Q4: But ${THING} isn't working for me. I cannot live without ${THING}.
A4: Not surprising, nougat is still young. Some features aren't ported and some may still be buggy. Maybe this isn't ready for you yet. And don't cry.
Q5: Xposed?
A5: Don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I'll ignore you if you complain about something and are using Xposed. Not out for nougat yet.
Q6: Can I complain about something?
A6: I'd prefer not, but be prepared for me to ignore you.
Q7: Can I report a bug?
A7: Absolutely. Please mention the kernel version and any additional files you flashed. Create a logcat.
Q8: When will you fix ${THING} that I just reported?
A8: Damn it, see Q0/A0. And if your ${THING} isn't something that bothered me, it probably just got shuffled to the back of the line.
Q9: Can I donate?
A9: Sure! Whatever you can. This takes a lot of time. Apparently not.
Q10: What is this "sdclang" thing?
A10: CM is using a optimized version of the clang/llvm compiler for official builds of Qualcomm devices. I'm using it for my own builds. See these links here and here.
I've depreciated this to move to Clang 3.9 (newer).

I just tried it on my E6633
Everything works except the camera which didn't want to work, even after some reboots.

Well.... I'd suggest you wait for a while after the reboot.. Then try the internal camera in WhatsApp... That works for me..
Though the camera problem is basically across all aosp builds until Sony or cyanogenmod or someone fixes it...
First of all thanks for your great effort! this rom is amazing.
Well time to report.
First, battery life is quite amazing, over 5 hours of sot. (around 3 in stock rom)
Second, the 64gb sd card won't get recognized... but on the other hands 32 gb one works well.
Regards,
Jerry
P.s. if you would like to solve the camera issue try to dig into @infected_'s repo... His roms had solved the camera problem.

Thanks for the heads up I'll definitely look into it
I'm not sure why the 64 gb cards don't work...
I'm not having issues with my 128gb sd card but it did format it before it would work..
Has it offered to format the sd card?
EDIT: @infected_ also seems to have used the same sonyAOSP repositories for his aosp build...
It's unlikely but maybe a different tool chain might help... I'll check. Also they seem to be all marshmallow builds... That might also be behind their camera working better...
camera isnt working yet on AOSP, on the kitakami/msm8994 family and all others. with some hacks msm8974 was taking pictures, but nothing stable.
regards.
What about the battery life during the night for you ?
It started from 82% at 2:00 AM, and now it's at 65%...

Yikes, that seems really awful. I'd suggest you use naptime for aggressive doze.
You could also try the doze app which stops background data for chosen apps...
With naptime installed you should get much better battery life...
Did you clean flash this?

I'll try Naptime and Doze app secondly.
Thanks for your tricks. I will tell you if it resolved my issue
And yup, I did a clean install
I can't flash system.img, fastboot shows this error
(load_file: could not allocate -1585037392 bytes
error: cannot load 'system.img')
I downloaded system.img two times but same error.

Which system are you coming from?
I think that error probably has to do with the larger size of the system image because of gapps being included..
Are you trying a full wipe?
finly i flashed it every think is good but camera dosent work. for now i come back to stock.camera important for me.thanks for your work
Is it possible to make this compatible with the E6653 device? The rom loads perfectly on my phone, only thing not working is my SIM card because I dont have a DSDS phone.

Yup it is possible and I'll release a working boot.img for the e6653 with the next release (hopefully today itself)
Actually the delay is because I'm compiling with uber but my first build was laggy as hell.

Why you don't flash this(http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/cyanogenmod-14-1-xperia-z5-e6553-t3493283) on your e6653?

Actually trying that one now, funnily enough it's not detecting my SIM card either. Never had this issue before, might be because I am in Australia.

Haha, you have no idea how excited I am right now. Eagerly awaiting that upload. Soon as it's up, I'll load it up and if all works well I'll use it for a while and give you some feedback.
Unfortunately the CM 14.1 ROM that was posted (which is for the E6653) cant detect my SIM either, lot of other people are having that issue too. Hopefully yours will be that stock experience I'm looking for.

Ok, so I installed Doze, Greenify (without Xposed, hope that it will be compatible with Android Nougat soon ), and NapTime. Without effect, always 2-3% drain per hour.
I realized that my device won't deep sleep, it was always in activity even when I wasn't using it.
I searched for wakelocks, and noticed that Google services were faulty. I disabled some of them after searched online, and it's better
I think without camera, the rom isn't complete. I am waiting for that.

I believe the sim detection in @fergy's rom has been fixed by him.. check the last posts in that thread...
I do honestly believe aosp is doing better than cm-14.1 at the moment, mostly because CMTE hasn't been doing well on the newer CM roms while Substratum is working really well...
I'm uploading a single sim kernel to release 1. Since the Uber builds are being more trouble than help...
Test it and tell me how it goes...

On release 2 (testing) with the Uber toolchain, Open Camera works... however the rom is overall very laggy using uber...
So I'll be looking into other opportunities...
By the way, have you found any non-stock rom (AOSP,CM etc) here or elsewhere with a working msm8994 camera?
If yes please link the repos here, I'll gladly try to incorporate it.
