Grip shell for Moto G 2014 - G 2014 Accessories

Anyone know if they will be sold by Motorola in the future? Or any OEM or Chinese brands out there?
I'm surprised noone asking about them.
I have one on the original Moto G and it's great. I wouldn't want to get a case to add thickness to the new Moto G, a grip shell would be perfect.

Yea I searched a lot for these too. Found some similar ones but they had really ugly brandings on them. Yuck! Would be great if Moto introduced these for the G2..

Unfortunately Motorola has not released them for Moto G 2014.

Got an interesting reply from Motorola on facebook today. I guess it will be sold at one point they just didn't announce it yet. https://m.facebook.com/comment/repl...829182_868861226467824&ft_ent_identifier=8685

Any news about grip shells for moto g 2nd edition?

Unfortunately no! What a shame!

official motorola moto g 2014 grip shell is currently not avilable

looks like 2014 was the ugly stepchild of the MotoG series

Haven't seen any but be careful of eBay sellers like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S-Line-Si...G-4G-2014-FREE-Screen-Protector-/201122942458
Described as for moto g 4g 2014 it obviously can't be for all of those models and the picture is not of a 2014 model.

[Q] Moto G 2014 touchscreen issue: all moto's or G 2014's only?

Hello guys, after reading a few threads about the Moto G 2014 touchscreen issue (malfunctioning, lack of responve, etc) as reported here I was wondering if it is a Moto G 2014 only problem or a general issue due to hardware construction and design of moto's.
I had the problem with my Moto G 2014 DTV 16gb Dual edition. I was running with the mobile placed in my shorts with screen facing my skin (so the sweat would probably get into the device, but I completely forget about that possibility, blame on me). After a 35 minutes running the screen got non responsive and went black with the device still running, receiving notifications and calls...
As anyone can see Moto G 2014 was designed with two silver big "dashes" onscreen (one at earphone and one at mic zone) and this design is used in all new moto lining, but Maxx. So Moto X 2014, Moto G 2014 and Moto E, any version of 'em. But Moto G (old), Moto X (old) and Moto Maxx still have a flat screen with no details on it. Are the silver details a problem? Are they a breach for dirty, water and etc?
I have purchased Moto G 2014 only four days ago and in my location I have 7 days to return it for free for a new one or money back. After 7 days I will have to use the warranty system. Instead of return and get another Moto G 2014, which would probably fall onto the same problem , I was wondering if you guys could advise me on if its better to get another model/brand. Thank you all!
The main reasons for purchasing G 2014 relied on dual chip, sdcard and big screen.
Moto G is water resistant, so a little sweat shouldn't be a problem.

@ammadeusy
The ''silver dashes'' are the two external stereo speakers
And no, a little sweat wouldn't affect the screen. Ive seen youtube videos of moto g fully submerged in water and being sprayed on with a water hose , yet the phone was responsive as ever.
I think it was a one-time only issue ( I hope) . Never had such problems with my set

Moto X 2014 or Moto G 3rd Gen?

I have the Nexus 6. I am finding it too big. I would like to go back to the Moto X 2014. I had it before and liked the size. But now with the Moto G 3rd Gen out, should I go for that one? I know its .2 inch smaller which is not a big deal. Plus the Moto G has dual speakers for stereo sound and of course a SD slot. Also now that the Moto G camera is also 13 meg is it as good as the X or perhaps better? The Moto X 2014 is about $150 more which is why I am wondering what to get.
Thanks

Supposedly the camera is the same from the nexus 6 without OIS. I faced your same decision and will be ordering my moto x today. I decided to go with the X again (just cracked the screen last week, still usable though). I thought about the nexus 6 since its on sale but its just too big. So back to the moto x or moto G 3rd gen. The main appeal of the moto g for me was water resistance and cheap price, SD slot was nice but if I got a 32GB X it wouldn't matter. So I am going for the moto x because its just been so rock solid. It feels great in the hand and I appreciate the premium feel. The 5.1.0 update has removed any little lag it had on the first 5.0 so performance is great.
My only issue with the moto x was that I had a 16GB ATT version, I also would have liked it to have a white back. Now I get to have it in a white back and 32GB for only $350. Im sold. I thought about waiting for the new moto x 2015 but I want to try it in the hand first, I can see myself easily going another year on a moto x. If the screen never cracked I would not have been looking for a new phone, the motorola software is something I use daily.
Good luck on your decision.

Between the two, I would pick the Moto G. Just get the 16 gig with 2 gig ram and you basically have the same phone for less money. Plus you can customize it on Moto maker now and you get a sd card slot.

Nope, the third gen G doesn't have stereo speakers. And I hope you do realize you'll be dealing with a mid-range device, performance compared to the N6 and X14 cannot be compared.

The G has a newer camera (IMX214 vs 135 in the X), a brighter aperture (f2.0 vs 2.25), color balancing flash, and a microSD, so definitely get the G if you care about the camera. It's also waterproof and has better battery life than the mediocre battery in the X. Avoid it if you want the nicer build, display or faster processor. The G will also likely get Android M first, as last year's G got 5.0 long before the X OG, though to be fair the OG X was underpowered.

I recently bought a Moto X 2014 despite knowing of the new one coming up.
I love amoled displays, and especially for ambient features of the moto x. Mono speaker is a bit disappointing, but it sounds good for only having one. I've used the Nexus 6 and loved it, but it could be a bit cumbersome at times. Most recently I used a SGS6, but grew tired of how limited it was in terms of ROMs among other things.
The Moto X 2014 is about $299 (16GB) USD as of now new, so you'd be saving $100 as well. Everyone has their own tastes, but Amoled (and smaller) display + the current price makes it a steal to me. I've also fallen in love with the Moto software as of late.
Hope this helps!

Still worth buying (used) Moto X?

I have a deal of used XT1060 for 116$. Is the 2013 Moto X still worth buying? Is it still considered a "top" mobile phone?

Moto X (2013) is no longer considered a "top" phone. Even when it was new it was never considered a "proper flagship". But while it lacked in specs and raw power, it was the usability of the device as a whole what made it a charming phone.
I think $116 is not a bad price for one, considering it is in good/excellent condition. If you are looking for a good phone, with all the basics covered, that sits comfortably in your hand, the Moto X is the way to go. If you want raw power and good AnTuTu scores you should look somewhere else.
getting a deal on a mint dev edition moto x verizon. Will this work on gsm networks outside the states? really getting it to run cm 12.1.

I see. I'm certainly not looking for a smartphone for gaming, but I think I'll go with the 2014 version after what you've said.
If the size of the Moto X 2014 is not a problem for you, I would recommend that one. I'm too used to 4.7" phones, so I'm still struggling to decide what device to move to from here.
If you can get it new, do it!
A 2 yo used phone could have battery issues, so I wouldn't recommend it... (The phone is however still good, with latest OS and everything you need. Except gaming raw power. But Motorola was never about raw power.)
Better Wait for few days
Moto X 2013, if you go by configuration and cheap pricing for old phone i would suggest you to go for it. But if you can add more money and wait for MOTO X Style (coming this sep) you'll get a far much better configuration which will stand out with the nxt gen OS also. Thinking ahead in 2 years.
So my suggestion go for Moto X Style.
Hmm. I love my Moto-X 1st gen (XT-1055) US Cellular. Now on Lollipop.
As for battery. It can get replaced in the future. Go to youtube and check out the videos.

Same. Just went for the Sony Xperia z3 Compact. Had it for a couple of days. Although I miss some things about the moto x, I like this so far. We don't really have any other options haha.

I just don't have that extra money for the X Style, or generally, any premium 2015 smartphone.

Done! Moto X 2014 (Pure Edition) is now on its way. only 250$ for new sealed box. That's about twice as the 1st gen deal but it's one year younger and new from the factory.

Mophie Like Battery Charging Case?

Ok i am back on Android with a Moto G 2015 model... I used to have a Moto G Orginal and a Moto G 2014 models. I change phones more then people smoke pot in Colorado.
So I bought two of the Moto G's 2015, one for my wife and one for me. We had them customized with #our50th! (she will be a 100 at that time) and her name on the boot screen. My question is does anyone make a power charging case that is similar to the mophie case? I found one for the moto g 2014 model from mugen power. But none for the 2015 model.
Also does anyone know how to change your user name?
I guess its too new. But I'll look somewhere lol
