Grip Shell

Has anyone heard if they'll be releasing an official grip shell case for the new Moto G? I have one on my current Moto G and I think its a must have.
Its already out. You can buy it at RadioShack for $15

The grip shell that replaces the existing back cover and has the dimple on the back? Or are you just talking about a generic bumper case?
If its for the 2nd gen moto g there is not one out. I looked everywhere including Motorola.com and I didn't see any like that. There is a flip case though.

[Q] Bamboo back

I'm thinking about buying the new Moto X and apparently Verizon will be running a promotion where they will be offering the a white/bamboo moto x for $99 on contract (not charging extra $25 for bamboo back). Can anyone share their experience with a bamboo back cover? It looks nice but i've never seen one in person and I was wondering how it holds up over time.
Thanks!

[Q] Which are soft touch / rubber backs?

It seems like there are mixed info on this,
but for those of you who already received new moto, if your back cover is soft touch (rubber/non-slip feel like Nexus5 or 1st Gen black MotoX)
what color is it?
I think black is confirmed to be soft touch, but I'm looking at other options.
My current black leather one is kinda slippery, and it's going back to Motorola because of some defects.
Please no "I heard / I think / I guess" posts. ONLY if you HELD it in your hands, thanks.
Not sure if this is any help, but the leather backs are soft-touch and non-slip. If you're just wanting the plastic backs, I'm not sure.

I have one with black leather back, and I wouldn't say it's a non-slip, feels more slippery than "real" soft touch non-slip.
Have you held black Nexus 5 or 1st gen black woven Moto X ? That's the type of non-slip back I'm talking about.
I got the royal blue and it's just regular plastic
I can confirm that the standard (non Moto) black back is soft touch and not slippery.

My bad. I meant "non MotoMaker". i.e. what Verizon stocks in the stores.
Agree

And, FWIW, the "stock" retail (non Moto Maker) black back is easy to grip. Not slippery at all.

Got it, thanks.
I wish there was also an option for "sand black" back like the black OnePlus has. That one is the best grip I've tried.
I've had a cover like that for my old moto x to cover ugly slippery white (VZW developer edition), but now I wanna keep it naked.
The old otter box impact was the grippiest case ever.
The Defender was the best I could find.
Here are some mods to perform including an easy holster to car kit conversion using any moto base.

Olive is not soft touch
I bought the Olive colored back assuming it would be soft touch because the 2013 moto x in olive was. But the 2014 is not soft touch. Too bad they don't have all the back in store like they did for moto x 2013. I really wish I knew which backs are soft touch.
Over on the Motorola boards, they have said ONLY black is soft touch. Unlike the 1st gen, no other colours are.

Tough / Rugged Cases

Can anyone recommend a good tough/rugged case for the 2nd Gen LTE handset? (Which I assume is externally the same as the non-LTE one?) The ideal would be an Otterbox Defender style case, with an inner polycarbonate base with integral screen protector, and outer silicone bumper. Everything I'm seeing on Amazon UK has the polycarbonate on the outside.
I'll need one... I have one with policarbonate outside and the phone slips from everywhere its crazy
Cant say about rugged, but i found these two to be good:
Tudia Ultra Slim LITE TPU Bumper Protective Case for Motorola Moto G 2nd Gen 2014
Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit TPU Case for the New Moto G
Both have bumper protection. The top and lower portions have the hard material to protect against falls, and otherwise as well, the customers have praised the performance of the cases when their phones took a tumble.
Thanks. I went with another one, but it's silicone and I'm not happy with it. The wife is though, so that's that.
When it falls apart I'll probably go with one of those. I've had a Cruzerlite and it wasn't very robust, so I'll try the Tudia first off.

Does Any Other Phone's Case Fit The Moto G Stylus?

Chinese case makers aren't really picking up speed so g stylus isn't getting the usual cases other phones get. Like I love the blacl tpu cases with fabric or leather back. But they are not being released any time soon. So I'm wondering if a case of another phone might fit the g stylus with minor mods.
Anybody know?
I bought the Poetic Guardian Series Case after trying other cases. I wanted a case that hold credit cards and ID, but couldn't find any.
G Power is the closest, but it's a bit loose and you have to open a hole for flashlight

& the stylus, of course
I also had a had time finding a case for the G Stylus, but after a few finally found one I am happy with. It is an ultra thin hard shell case which protects the phone's finish from scratches/abrasions but minimal drop protection, it also gives the phone "grip" as the phone alone is quite slick. The case is perfect for me as I haven't dropped a phone in a decade; it would not provide much protection for a "phone dropper" (aka my niece).
I bought the case here
Anccer Compatible for Moto G Stylus Case (2020), Moto G Pro Case (2020) [Colorful Series] [Ultra Thin] Hard Slim Cover (Green)
I bought & am using "Sucnakp Moto G Stylus Case Motorola G Stylus Case Heavy Duty Shock Absorption Phone Cases Impact Resistant Protective Cover for Motorola Moto G Stylus" at Amazon.
I have the OtterBox Commuter for the 2020 Moto G Stylus. I really like it:
