Nexus 6 support Qualcomm quick charge 2.0.
Can i use the note 4 quick charge 2.0 to charge the nexus 6?
Is it 9V 1.67A, or 12V?

Quick Charge is a feature of Qualcomm, the manufacturer of the CPU/SoC for the phone. It is a standard for their hardware so any phone supporting Quick Charge will work with any Quick Charge charger. You want to be sure the charger and the phone are using the same version of Quick Charge (v1 or v2). See https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/quick-charge for compatible phones and chargers.
I lost my Motorola charger and picked up a Power Partners 30W charger that is listed as compatible and seems to be faster than the Motorola but I didn't do any specific measurements. Typically, I use a Qi (Tylt Vu) changer and don't plug in.
QC 2.0 as mentioned above is a Qualcomm feature. Any certified QC 2.0 charger will work and quick charge your nexus or Note. I don't see he Samsung stock Note 4 charger in Qualcomms site for approved devices but maybe they haven't updated it in a while. It should work just fine. I use a Incipio QC 2.0car charger for when I need s boost on my phone or for road trips. I normally lose battery while using a non QC2.0 car charger running GPS and all of the goodies. In the end any QC 2.0 charger will work on the Nexus 6 which supports QC and you will be fine. They will also work on the Note 4.

Someone like me in the Ridesharing industry, two cigarette lighters is not enough! This would be perfect so I can have a charger for myself, iPhone passengers, and Android passengers. Then I could use the other port for my dash cam power!
Edit: Nevermind. Seems the cable is not included.
The QC 2.0 port supplies 15w with 9V and 1.67A which seems to be the the requirement of the Samsung S6 fast charge feature (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59794206&postcount=9). I suppose it will enable that feature...
Did you try it on a S6? Is the Fast Charge enabled while connecting the S6 on the QC 2.0 port?
Any concerns about the battery safety?

So once the disappointment of my spank new nexus 5x not being qualcomm quick charge 2.0 compatible (I found this out yesterday) after buying new chargers and batteries (portable charger thingamagigs) had subsided I was pleasantly surprised that many of my battery packs were actually charging at what the nexus 5x calls 'rapidly charging'.
So far I can report that these chargers tell me they are rapidly charging:

Aukey 10000mah qcqc2.0 (pb-t1) doesn't seem to do anything? Doesn't charge it at all works on the original n5 (without qc obviously). But I find this very odd? I was wrong it does indeed report rapidly charging

My guess is even though you are getting the rapidly charging rating, you are likely getting 2a of the possible 3a max charging amps. It means a good handshake for fast charge is occuring even if the source of the charge is incapable of 3a.

I have a RavPower QC2.0 charger which has one QC-enabled port and 3 "Standard" charge ports. The QC feature worked well with my old Moto X Style. I've noticed however that the charge current is the same from the QC port as when I connect it to one of the standard ports i.e. about 1500 mA. This is despite the QC indicator showing on the charger when I connect my new N8 on the QC port.
Is the N8 supposed to be fully compatible with QC2? I gather QC3 is meant to be backwards compatible with QC2 so I'm a bit confused.
Yes, it's compatible with the old QC 2.0 standard.
Recently I charged it with a QC 2.0 charger and this had the green led on during the charging (with non-QC compatible phone the led is blue).

The QC indicator was on on my charger as well, but the charge rate didn't seem quick.
Curiously, I've also noticed that the phone seems to charge very quickly from the USB port in my car which, AFAIK, is not QC compatible! Weird.
Is he saying that V40 is able to be charged to 50% for only 15 minutes? What USB charger brick is capable of such fast QC 4 then?
The phone supports quick charge 4.0 with a different wall charger. Currently the phone includes a 3.0 charger which I read is 25 minutes instead of 15.

That's just the theoretical specs
LG throttled to maximum speed, even Razer phone can't charge that fast in real life with QC4

I know this is late but it took me months to find a Qualcomm certified QC 4 charger. I have also read the Qualcomm information. This is the way it is:
I have a Verizon LG V40 ThinQ with Android 8.1. I also purchased a Belkin QC 4 charger that is certified by Qualcomm. The LG V40's Snapdragon 845 chip is certified QC 4 usable. Unfortunately, LG neglected to enable that feature when they released the phone. The phone came with a QC 3 charger and that is what it charges at. It takes approximately 1½ hours to charge the phone from 15% to 100% if you use the included charger or a certified QC 4 charger. I know I tried it. When you charge the LG V40, it tells you how long it will take to fully charge it. It says the same time with each charger. I didn't trust the software since I had already purchased a QC 4 charger and had nothing to loose. ( a Qualcomm certified QC 4 charger is backwards compatible with all QC phones. It will charge at the rate the phone allows and not overcharge) The QC 4 charger took the same time as the QC 3 charger. (Within a few minutes) Unfortunately, I doubt that LG will enable the faster charging in the future. I have written to support a number of times and they have no clue to what QC 4 charging is about. The only hope is that the powers that be at LG are keeping them in the dark.

I have noticed that my stockpile of "fast" chargers I have acquired and used with my LG G8 do not enable the "charging rapidly" notification I get on the Pixel 5a.
Do I need to purchase a new set of USB-PD chargers for car & a/c outlet in order to achieve the fastest charging.
My current quick charge 3.0 adaptors make this phone say "charging" and not "rapidly"

Probably. If your current chargers don't support PD then you won't charge at max speeds. And if your current chargers are using USB-a, meaning you need a USB-a to USB-c cable you're definitely not fast charging.
I can recommend Anker products. The Nano pro is a sweet tiny charger.

I have anker products already however they are using the older type-A connection. its a shame that google will only allow rapid charging via USB-PD spec and not the older QC-QC3.0 spec.

Considering that the 5a is only capable of charging at a maximum of 18W (9Vx2A) I am pretty sure the USB-A to USB-C cable will work, if you can find a PD charger that uses USB-A. The reality is that you will probably need to buy a PD car charger, and a USB-C to USB-C cable. I'm in the same boat. There are quite a few options, with PD and QC and 2.1A/2.4A USB charging all in a single charger, on Amazon and the usual suspects. I think the real disappointment is that the 5a only charges at 18W. The upside is that the phone not only has a huge battery but it has adaptive charging so will slow charge overnight - fast charging being bad for battery life.
You should look for a USB-C "charging" cable. Charging cables have larger wires for lower loss in the cable, but also are often USB 2 speeds for data, which is fine for dedicated charging use. It is also possible to find USB 3 charging cables. There are a number of different USB-C cables out there, including special ones with an IC to support Thunderbolt. Be sure to mark the capability of each one you buy. It is a bit of a mess.
Quick Charge works well but is not strictly consistent with the USB spec (although it does not interfere with USB operation). IIRC QC uses analog voltage levels on the signal lines to control the supply voltage. IIUC PD uses a digital handshake. I for one have been happy with QC but am glad to move to PD for phone and eventually laptop and tablet. Recent announcements extend PD from today's 100W max up to 240W max.

I woke up the other night because of a thunderstorm and noticed my phone was already at 100% 5 hours before my alarm was set to go off. Another night I woke up to use the bathroom, around 3 hours after I had went to sleep and plugged in phone, verified it said adaptive initially and now it said rapidly! Why would a phone switch to rapidly charging in the middle of the night. I might just dig out an OLD slow charger brick from the basement cave to prevent this overnight mystery from a gimmick feature.
Will post back when I acquire a car charger capable of "rapid" charging which 18w seems plenty fast to me for most road trips.

I actually have a car charger that triggers the 'Charging rapidly' notification. I would link to it at Amazon, but I bought over a year ago and it appears they no longer have that item in their stock. You need to make sure on those that they have a USB-C port on them labeled "PD3.0" or I believe that makes them incompatible. The search term I used there was

The 5a uses a USB-PD 2.0 charge protocol, not PD 3.0. Any USB-PD charger should work, as there were very few v1 devices ever made. When buying a car charger I recommend a charger with at least two ports: a PD charge port (USB-C) and a QC charge port (USB-A). The latest ones will support PD 2/3, PD 3 PPS, and QC 4 (and even 4+ and 5) on the USB-C port, and QC 2/3 plus several other protocols with the USB-A port. That pretty much covers the great majority of smart phones. I just bought a three port (2xUSB-C, 1xUSB-A) car charger. The USB-C ports are identical except that one is 30W (for phones) and the other is 100W (for laptops and tablets, or another phone). Note that increasingly new devices are requiring the PD 3.0 PPS, and there are fewer chargers available that support that. Also, higher power charging requires a special cable with a supporting IC inside so I ordered the package that included charger and cable.

As has been stated, a USB-C Power Delivery compliant charger is required to charge at the maximum 18 watt rate.
Power Delivery is a USB-IF standard, whereas Quick Charge is a Qualcomm proprietary standard.
