Add a new subforum for Teclast X98 Air II/3G Tablet - Teclast X98 Air 3G

Hello,
I don't know if this is the right place for this, I already used the search engine but didn't find anything useful on where to post suggestions for a new subforum. If it's the wrong place, please move.
The Teclast X98 Air is a new Android/Windows dualboot tablet from China. Beyond its awesome specs like a Retina display, a 4x2,16Ghz 64bit CPU and many more it's very cheap as well. Therefore it gets more and more attention on the internet and we already have a thread here on xda with over 450 pages. They are getting more everyday! But with only one thread it's really confusing. People ask questions about the specs, ask for help or provide solutions and everybody has to search the whole never ending thread That's why I would like to ask, if it's possible to get a new subforum for the Teclast X98 Air II/3G tablet.
Thank you very much.
Have a great day!

+1
It could be great!

i support

+1000 would be nice

i support :good:

I would suggest a general Teclast forum. In this we can divide threads between the X98.., the new (upcomming?) X10HD and other teclast tablet models.

+1 Would be much appreciated as the General Teclast post count has exceeded 4800+ and is very difficult to sort out as we are facing so many issues!

Great idea,
It is really hard to follow all topics in one single thread
I hope we get it!

That is a good idea

It would be appreciated

ICQ for Windows Phone 7

Hi everybody!
I'm writing ICQ Messenger for WP7 now and have a VERY BIG ISSUE with it:
WP7 Silverlight does not support SOCKETs!!!
Does anybody know how to workaround this?
The only way I see is create a SERVICE on my home PC with static IP, that will be a link between WCF classes to communicate with WP7 Client and ICQ Server, that (to my mind) only supports Sockets...

Post in correct sections.
General/Questions etc go in the "Q&A" forum
Developments go in the "Development" forum.
This forum is named "Windows Phone 7 Development"... Where should I post if not here?

Would be best to post in the "Q&A" forum or the apps forum. This is mainly for posting of dev work.
This forum is mainly for posting of work not general discussion as then we would get all sorts of topics created here and then we will have to soft through a load of crap just to find the devs posts.
maybe there should be a board section "winp7 coding". but for my understanding developers of tools for wp7 should ask their questions here in the dev section, like the rom-chefs do. like it says, it's about developing. maybe somebody has a tip for the op and can guide him to a nice coding community manly working with wp7.

Excellent point, this.
Purely based on OP's post, there's nothing HD2-related about the issue he/she's encountered.
Unless OP has a specific reason for keeping this in the HD2 section, this thread might be better off in the general "Windows Phone 7 Software Development" section. There's almost certainly more WP7 experts browsing there.
Exactly. This is in no way related to HD2 WP7 development so shouldn't be here.
@OP
don't give too much on those ppl *****in' around. try to open a thread in wp7 development or apps and games.
perhaps there you get real help. i appreciate your attempt to make a icq client =)

[guide] Android Rom Hacking Guide

Hi! I'm in the process of learning how to port ICS for optimus black. Since I didn't find a (good) one, I'm writing a guide to help other get started. It would be really nice if this will be a community guide so I'd really like to post there in the development section. I'm sharing it with editing rights for all, please do not vandalize it
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eyM3PnaF4XDsYaRBiQ9pUxYRnrWxFvkHBYHVomwzer8/edit
We can also discuss regarding addition/deletion of new sections. Google docs has a nice commenting feature so you can easily comment things that you do/don't like and express your opinion.
Bye!
Thread moved
Great effort, but it doesn't belong in Development.
Thanks, a really nice and good idea!

10 Posts needed for android development reply's

Hello,
Why do users need to post 10 posts on the forum before they can join the android development discussions? I've bin a user for quite some time now but i don't post a lot because when i say something it's something that is nowhere else to be found... So i found it quite annoying i needed to write 10 bull**** posts to join a discussion that is usefull.
Greets,
Daniël
Normally, new users look for non ROM-specific solutions.
Some tend to post in wrong subforums, so they're limited to General.

With such an eloquent and beneficial post such as this (where you cannot even follow the forum rules about swearing), I can see we have really been missing your wisdom in development forums.
I am closing this thread lest your incredible nuggets of profundity explode the minds of us mere mortals.

Does anyone know if a XDA forum will be created for the Google Pixel Slate Tablet?

As the title says i cant seem to find one. Anyone know of any other forums?
Looking for one myself..haven't seen one yet.
Looks like we have one now...

Do you mean this one?? Ya gotta be kidding me! I'm talking about a forum like every other Android device on XDA,
How about a forum that has:
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS,
GUIDES, NEWS, & DISCUSSION,
ROMS, KERNELS, RECOVERIES, & OTHER DEVELOPMENT,
THEMES, APPS, AND MODS,
and ACCESSORIES
Does anyone know why one hasn't been created yet?

It looks like your a bit lost and/or confused here so I'll do my best to help guide you a bit.
The following thread is dedicated for requesting a New Device Dedicated Area on the Forum...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354
... Please read the first 2 posts on that thread for understanding the process itself.
If you require any further guidance/clarification on any of the processes/procedures, regarding this topic, your best bet is to Post/PM the ET Administrator @O_G (whose responsible for this) and, if needed, @MikeChannon (whose one of the XDA Administrators).
In addition, the following is the Enhanced Tag Link for the Google Pixel Slate device. It's the first step in the process of the creation of a Device Dedicated Area on the Forum.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/google-pixel-slate
I hope that I had helped you out in clarifying this process...
I wish you the best of luck!

Well as linked by Ibuprophen we have threads for the device specially tagged to keep them linked together but also to let us see if it is very popular. If it is we add a forum set if the number of threads rises to around 3 pages of threads.
Currently I see only three threads tagged. There may be more but you'll need to give us links to any threads for the device that aren't yet tagged.

Please see the post above yours...
Maybe @MikeChannon can close this thread to prevent questions with answers already provided as well as Post Count ones too.
Thanks a bunch!

Moin

Hello all,
I'm Erik from Germany.
I needed an actual OS for my old Samsung Galaxy S7.
This smartphone is for my son and I din't want him to use a Smartphon with a much too old Android 8 OS.
I updated the samrtphone with a new Android 12 OS. Works fine. My son is happy.
Thanks to the developers!
See u later in the chats.
Welcome to XDA. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the XDA Forum Rules as well as Forum Etiquette.
Use the Manufacturers link at the top of the page to find the subforum for your device. XDA is one of the largest development sites in the world, so you should have no trouble finding plenty of information here.
Good luck, and have fun!
