Hey guys, I'm back. @frap129 and I have logged quite some time into making two versions of this kernel. One is the TGM-Hybrid LinaroMod version and the other is TGM-Hybrid SaberNaro version. Which one is better? Well, you guys can find out. LinaroMod is a toolchain built with Linaro 4.9 but in a SaberMod environment. It includes all the features of Linaro and more added on with SaberMod (like graphite). The second version is SaberNaro. This is the opposite version of LinaroMod; it is SaberMod 4.9 compiled in a Linaro environment. Both of them have general uses. LinaroMod is more for a performance/quick type of a toolchain. SaberNaro is more for a smooth, enjoyable experience. You decide which one you like best!

Exactly, this isn't going to be like a King-Kang kernel where I merge a lot of random stuff. Everything i put in this has been tested and thought out.

I'm not meaning to specify any work. BTW "kang" is a slang for copying. I'm saying that I will not be merging anything randomly . Sorry if my statement seemed a bit harsh.

@YoshiShaPow I don't mind how you're taking the kernel as it is performing pretty well.
May you please add one feature known as legendary dt2w/s2s?
My power button is something I like to see the same after a couple of years.

FAQs
+ Q: Whats the difference?
A: Read the disclaimer.
+ Q: Will I get worse performance than the Official CyanogenMod Kernel?
A: It depends on what commits are added. My Kernel only fixes bugs i can fix and which are unsolved and Of course, I will add more features not available in CyanogenMod Official
+ Q: What makes the stock kernel different?
A: You get goodies, and furthermore, better battery life and performance in this project.

Based on my collaboration with djmatt604 and the work on my existing Mackay ROM, we bring you the AOKP experience Infamous-style!
This ROM is based on the AOKP jellybean 4.2 sources
To this we added:
-The CM device & vendor trees, adapted to our needs
-Mackay kernel
-Some CM/AOKP cherries
-A unique set of homemade patches
-A tailor-made gapps included in the zip
Changelog version 1.7.4
-AOKP source code 8-May-2013
-TRDS code, including a Dark UI toggle
-Added toggle ribbon
-Added Hidden Statusbar Pulldown
-Latest Mackay kernel
Installation instructions:
-Reboot to recovery (CWM or TWRP)
-Make a backup of your current ROM
-Wipe system
-Factory reset
-Flash the zip (no need to flash gapps separately, as it is included in the ROM)
-Reboot and enjoy!
Don't try to do a dirty flash or restore system settings using Titanium, both cause bootloops. Trust me, I have had the honour of testing this for you!

Awesome kasper!! Your 4.2.2 ROMS are the best . I´m going to try it now!
Just one question : Why you don´t include scripts for init.d or tweaks for build.prop or sysctl?
Hope you continue with your work cause it´s impressive.

I don't believe in scripts to improve overall performance...maybe in specific use-cases it can help, but not in general.
Well its booting faster since we can disable bootanimation,we are able to customize ui as we like,i think its great,i dont know though something, can aokp for p970 be updated when cm is updated too, even if cm10.1 gets changes for our phone spesifically?

CM10.1 and AOKP are separately updated. Important updates in CM are often quickly ported to AOKP. I use a common device tree for building Mackay ROM and AOKP, so all p970-specific changes for CM are also applied for AOKP.
I have to say that´s really good. Smooth and fast. I love more Paranoid ROMS but these is supperbbb! Great work
Oh yeah are there performance options anywhere or is aokp disabled them?

Same issues as all JB4.2 ROMs (battery drain relatively high, camera (especially video) buggy).

It is nice to see that some people continue to develop for our OB.

I meant JB4.2 for p970, not JB4.2 in general. On my Galaxy S, both Mackay ROM and Infamous AOKP work perfectly fine.
Wifi tether doesnt work, but usb tether is just fine. It looks fast, but lets give it a shot after instaling more apps.

So the problem is that lg has not released the appropriate drivers or that cm devs dont have time for p970?I understood that u meant p970 i just wonder why p970 has that many bugs compared to others.

Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..
What to expect
- This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
- Maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
- Originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
- Aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion
Features
-Stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
-Enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
-Custom written CRON and init.d.
-UI and graphics improvements
-Custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
-Improved notification handling
- Lockscreen notifications
- Rewritten Halo
-Usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
-Animation control
-Improved Vanir keyboard
-CM's profiles & quicksettings
-Additional quicksetting tiles
-Immersive desktop
- A combination of immersive mode and expanded desktop
-Statusbar mods
-Clock & battery mods
-Lockscreen blur and other mods
-Busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
-Yatta yatta yatta
-More to come when i feel like updating the op

F2FS Support
- What is F2FS?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F2FS
- Does F2Fs improve performance?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697069
see for your self
- Is it dangerous?
No, android is fully compitable with F2FS
But do keep in mind EXT4 is still more stable, and F2FS is developed by samsung(samsung is crap)
Worse case scenario is an encrypted device, wich can be fixed with a hard reset
- What one shouldn't do:
Flash F2FS kernel on EXT4 formated devices and vice versa
so if youre on F2FS, and if you want to update your rom,
make sure you should the F2FS kernel after
I'm working on a script that makes one kernel support both filesystems
but it isn't ready yet.
How does one make it's phone F2FS?
- Back up everything to your pc (including your internarl storage)
- Download recovery and kernel
- Flash my TWRP
- Go to wipe
- Format data
- Now go to wipe/advanced wipe
- Check data
- Click repair or change file system
- Change it to F2FS
- Now do the same for /cache
- Now flash the F2FS kernel
- Reboot and profit
- How does one know he has succelfully formatted /data and /cache to F2FS?
Use adb shell or terminal emulator
execute "mount" and you can see you file system.

The D800 may just need a kernel that has loki baked into it. If the developers of this ROM would make a boot.img with loki built in then I would flash it. Already recovered from a bad CM flash so know how to repair phone :=)

Not exactly, the D800 has an extra mic the D802 doesnt have, so the code needs to be fixed for audio to work, and the kernel needs the ATT specific DTB attached to it, Dalingrin is currently sorting out Tmo (D801) issues and after that he has said he will try to work on the ATT version, I'm assuming Arcee will be helping as well, but not sure as I've only spoken to Dalingrin.

no the current testing build of cm for D801, has issues, but it looks like a device maintainer for 801 has just been found recently and will be taking point of the build, apparently it is almost done. so hang in there, last to get builds are gonna be ATT and Sprint.
Well that's weak sauce

I was guessing it wasn't since I ran into a security issue while trying to play with the CM build.
Is your source on github or somewhere else?
djkinetic said:
Not exactly, the D800 has an extra mic the D802 doesnt have, so the code needs to be fixed for audio to work, and the kernel needs the ATT specific DTB attached to it, Dalingrin is currently sorting out Tmo (D801) issues and after that he has said he will try to work on the ATT version, I'm assuming Arcee will be helping as well, but not sure as I've only spoken to Dalingrin.

Well if anyone needs a hand I am here to help with ATT model. Once I get back home tonight I plan on syncing with the CM source and see what I can do to help. If you guys need a device maintainer for the 800 let me know.

In actually just spoke to shellnut2 over irc and he is going to build me a test build for Att tonight, he said he might pickup maintaining for the d800, he did his own bring up that has audio files for the extra d800 mic, if I were u I'd hop on irc #lg-g2 freenode and pm him and u guys can work out who will maintain for the d800.

Just a statement regarding kernel source: The Kernel Source is of course covered under GPL version 2. Free software does NOT mean no work or time was spent working on it. I have donated a large sum of my free time to this kernel. If you want to include my kernel in your project or use my source code, please mention it in your post, give proper credits.
Opensource does not mean 'Out-of-credit'
Thank you.
I would like to mention much more things but I don't like bloated OP's so I am keeping it short.

Surprises are coming but can't confirm anything. Only features which prove to be stable in my testing will be there in final release of kernel.

Okay i think ill flash cr droid and then post my thought on the kernel...But i have a noob question...(pardon me for that ): How does the C-ROM update have anything to do with the compatibility of the kernel?
Great, another awesome kernel, we have more and more concurrency here

@dhacker29 recently updated adreno and GPS blobs and made changes in kernel for their compatibility. That's why old ROMs aren't booting with latest up to date kernels.

It's definitely better to have separate thread for the kernel
I had problems with the camera when using the governor hotplug, provavelmte for him to stop some CPUs. Had setting for any of the CPUs sejem off when using the camera?
Thanks for separate thread. I am on old build of Cm12.1 by knonenull and tried ur kernel, it isn't showing external sd card. Is it normal.?? Should I be on recent source rom.??
One of things most of the rom needed is vibration intensity control. If u could integrate that in ur kernel then it will not only be unique but productive for battery life as well.

Maggi
