I use xdabbed's 12b bootstack/modem, and it replaces download mode with "fastboot". BUT. you can use fastboot mode to flash download mode back.
Actually, xdabbed has a zip to restore download mode, and another zip to flash back to 26a bootstack, ill pm you the thread link with all the zips you need,

Keep in mind with updating the bootstack it will also update your radio. So make sure you flash the 12b radio or this build will constantly boot you back into recovery

so tbh i am not sure what bootstack i have.. maybe you can give me some insight..

New build
New build is uploading to devhost right now at a rate of "Infinity Minute(s) Remaining @ 0 KB/s"
It will eventually compete. No major changes, just keeping the source up to date. Everything is working the way it should be. For the next build, ill probably remove the camera app and replace it with "open camera".

True, installing a custom recovery is complex. This makes it dummy free.
I have an auto click tool also for JackpotClavin 24a kk hack for twrp also, but its so dang dangerous it could brick your phone. It writes partitions.

Maybe this is a dumb question. But since we have used the upgrade path via Malidus and its "prep" flash (which was 24a baseband and partitions). When other Roms are developed for true kit Kat on our devices (also eventually) will we be able to flash from where we are at considering for all intents and purposes we are on the 24a baseband?

There's a way to have the auto script check the MD5's after copying to the phone, but the coding is so complex I could not figure it out.
This guy here did it for the Spectrum, which we could alter his coding and make it for G2. Maybe JC can look at it.

Yeah, that would be pretty awesome for it to be able to auto check. I've only recently started to check md5. Then again my old phone ran bootstrap, so I wasn't really scared about anything.

We don't know. Probably not and would have to take the same approach again flashing those higher partitions to make the radio work with any new rom.
Thank you for this!! As a new G2 owner this will help me a lot. Am I correct in assuming this is the same procedure followed by tools like Flashify? i.e. copy the Lokified recovery image to device.
Looking in the zip, this is TWRP 2.6.3.4. So after this, to get to 2.7, we can get the official TWRP flashable zip, boot into recovery and flash that. Since I don't believe a Lokified 2.7 exists. Right?

Everything has to be lokified. If it isn't it can potentially brick your device. I've been on this same recovery twrp for all my testing and building of roms and never had a problem.

Does it install TWRP 2.7? The line in the batch file says 'echo [TWRP 2.6.3.4] for LG G2 by Wootever modded by MicroMod777' which is why I'm asking.

[ROM] [4.4.4] [KTU84P] Stock Android -- ODEX / DEODEX

This is plain, stock Android.
If you would like to add:
Root - Download
BusyBox - Install
Download either odexed or deodexed version
(if you would like to add root, this would be a good time to do that as well!)
Boot into recovery (please use TWRP)
Wipe cache/Dalvik
Install
This will not wipe your data. But it doesn't hurt to back-up.
Download

Glad you figured it out. Usually it's a strange boot.img or needing an updated recovery or failing a signature check, but that would do it.
Okay, so let's say I'm on the latest CM nightly, what steps should I go through to install this?

It's been a few years since I last used CM, but I believe their installs are structured completely different than AOSP/stock these days. I think you'd have to completely wipe everything to change. Maybe someone more familiar with CM can be more helpful with that.

I just needed some free time to do it properly. Making an international gsm firmware work fully on Verizon is a pain in the you-know-what.
I also had the motivation of wanting to fully port the G3 camera driver which I never got around to with the initial G3 port I did with Cloudy and Tangjun. I'm happy to say it was worth it. Hope you enjoy it.

Coming from CloudyG3 with TWRP 2.7.0.0 can i just perform all the steps above or would it be better to restore to stock 26a first? Wipe system? Last time I went from CloudyG3 back to stock I lost knock on and had to restore it using your hiddenmenu apk. Any idea if I can expect something similar? Willing to be a bit of a guinea pig if you think I'll have a better than not chance for success.

No need to...just follow the install directions above. The only reason you (or anyone) ever lost knock-on is because they had flashed a kernel (if it's included with the rom it's the same thing) that enabled knock code and consequently updated the touchscreen firmware. Knock code also has a framework component that LG/Verizon for whatever reason never included in their firmware...so when you came back to a vs980 stock rom you also lost knock-on due to the newer firmware not being compatible with that firmware. It's a simple as that. All that has EVER been needed to restore it is a simple 10 second procedure.
This firmware package DOES have framework support for knock-on, so I built my kernel to use it. If you switch back to a VS980 Stock rom after this, you'll need to do the touchfw update in one of the 4 different ways that have been detailed.

The bootstack is the same one I had posted for my 26A rom. I didn't/don't want to confuse people with having more than one bootstack zip for now while everyone transitions from loki to bump. That said, if you had just continued on to install the rom you would've noticed that the firmware zip installs the new/bumped 2.8.1.2. Just follow the steps and you'll be fine.

Did you need to install the RootCloak xposed module? I know that this ROM hides root, and I confirmed that in the settings, but when I start Soft Card it tells me it can't be run on a rooted device.

Yes, I installed xposed framework and rootcloak to get it to work. Also, if you are running ART you need to disable before trying to get xposed to work.
I'm so psyched this is finally coming out, I'd given up on ever seeing this ROM come out a few months ago and have been putting up with the roaming bug on CloudyG3 ever since. So glad I don't have to deal with that crap now. Thanks man.

It should. Nothings changed there. Ur still flashing an img to a partition. But I'm not 100% sure.
Thank you very much, i really appreciate it.
You shouldn't have to flash the NJ5 firmware and TWRP if you already have them right?

I think the reason for the stockrestore is to make sure you are flashing on top of unmodified system files.

Followed the instructions to the letter, booting up now. Looking good! But oh god that stock DPI..

I always wipe internal storage before I flash. Isn't that a better solution?
Update: Ok I'll follow the directions.
Wow, OTA on Thursday, DE upgrade process on Sunday. Thank you for your hard and quick work!
Unfortunately i followed the steps right but when i go to factory reset it says failed then reboots. also when it does, i cant turn the screen brightness down at all. im trying another factory reset and see what happens. hopefully this is a minor glitch and not something that everyone will go through.

Hell kinda glad I'm not the only one that means I didn't mess up. but it does mean we will have to wait longer which I don't care about.

Same thing here. It might be a bug in lollipop or it could just be the update. Hopefully it's fixed when the Odin tar is out but this is good for now. Things are running smoother for me.
Install a power toggles type app and see if that can turn it down. Please let us know if it helps. I'm staying on AICP if the brightness can't be adjusted.

How-to Install:
Root & Install custom recovery: (Only needed if you haven't done this yet)
- Flash CF-Root for your model with Odin
- Make sure you have an custom recovery installed (I advise you to use TWRP) (This trips your KNOX warranty counter!)
Install the ROM
- Make sure you're on an recent Bootloader & Firmware (UVU1AOCG recommended!)
- Copy the ROM zip file to your internal of your Phone
- Do a Data/Factory reset first in your recovery
- Start the installation
- Reboot
- Enjoy the Rom!
I would NOT recommend to restore system apps or app data of your apps with Titanium backup, only the apps themselves.
Restoring App data or System apps can cause problems with the apps. (This applies to any ROM!)

At only 135MB, it looks to be either a ) a bad upload or b) it's still in progress.
The file is 1.5 GB, but did not upload correctly. I will fix it tomorrow.
File has been corrected in the OP. Sorry for the trouble.
Will this work on g920i? I use T-Mobile and Wi-Fi calling would be awesome.

I'd stop fighting it and grab @Hero script and binary, you'll have to edit a few things but it works. This device is the biggest pia in so many ways...
