I just needed some free time to do it properly. Making an international gsm firmware work fully on Verizon is a pain in the you-know-what.
I also had the motivation of wanting to fully port the G3 camera driver which I never got around to with the initial G3 port I did with Cloudy and Tangjun. I'm happy to say it was worth it. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm sure everyone will, awesome job getting CDMA support mashed into it. I can't imagine how difficult that could have been

Coming from CloudyG3 with TWRP 2.7.0.0 can i just perform all the steps above or would it be better to restore to stock 26a first? Wipe system? Last time I went from CloudyG3 back to stock I lost knock on and had to restore it using your hiddenmenu apk. Any idea if I can expect something similar? Willing to be a bit of a guinea pig if you think I'll have a better than not chance for success.

No need to...just follow the install directions above. The only reason you (or anyone) ever lost knock-on is because they had flashed a kernel (if it's included with the rom it's the same thing) that enabled knock code and consequently updated the touchscreen firmware. Knock code also has a framework component that LG/Verizon for whatever reason never included in their firmware...so when you came back to a vs980 stock rom you also lost knock-on due to the newer firmware not being compatible with that firmware. It's a simple as that. All that has EVER been needed to restore it is a simple 10 second procedure.
This firmware package DOES have framework support for knock-on, so I built my kernel to use it. If you switch back to a VS980 Stock rom after this, you'll need to do the touchfw update in one of the 4 different ways that have been detailed.

I flashed XDABBEB's VS98026A Boostack but my Twrp version in twrp says 2.8.0.1. Am I ok to proceed?
Edit: I serched for blastagator and found his thread for twrp. I updated to the newest that way.
I'm moving on...

@xdabbeb am I reading this correctly that it is bumped and not loki'd?

The bootstack is the same one I had posted for my 26A rom. I didn't/don't want to confuse people with having more than one bootstack zip for now while everyone transitions from loki to bump. That said, if you had just continued on to install the rom you would've noticed that the firmware zip installs the new/bumped 2.8.1.2. Just follow the steps and you'll be fine.

Another thing i notice is that the smart notice isn't working. Maybe that is why it was not preloaded on the screen.
If i want to restore my nandroid backup of CloudyG3 can i just flash cloudyfa's kk baseband then restore from twrp 2.8.1.2 or do I need to downgrade the recovery and/or bootloader?

Did you wipe data or did you dirty flash? Neither of those apps exist in mine.

Very cool! I think I will have to give this a whirl. Thanks XDABBEB!

WOW....awesome work!! I did verify that the 26a bootstack I had was the same in the OP by verifying the Md5.

Flashed this last night and nothing but praise for this ROM. Everything works great even Tap to Pay (Soft Card). This is the only G3 ROM where I have seen it work at all.

Did you need to install the RootCloak xposed module? I know that this ROM hides root, and I confirmed that in the settings, but when I start Soft Card it tells me it can't be run on a rooted device.

Yes, I installed xposed framework and rootcloak to get it to work. Also, if you are running ART you need to disable before trying to get xposed to work.

I'm so psyched this is finally coming out, I'd given up on ever seeing this ROM come out a few months ago and have been putting up with the roaming bug on CloudyG3 ever since. So glad I don't have to deal with that crap now. Thanks man.

jb/kk flash roms from another g2 variant on the vs980

Hello fellow vs980 owners. anyone wanting to flash a stock based/flex/gpro2 or aosp kk based rom from the other variants can now do so by flashing a patch in the same recovery session b4 1st boot,
instructions: download rom (id maybe stay away from d800 just in case cuz of the 3rd mic tht all othe g2's lack?)
wipe everything! data, cache, dalvik and system 3x
flash rom
If kk based stock/flex/gp2 rom flash the patch labeled 24a rotation fix, if aosp kk based flash the aosp kk patch. (If u have backwards rotation go back and flash the 24a rotation fix then REFLASH the aosp kk patch! (It wont boot otherwise)
If u get a error about it being the wrong device on aosp you'll have to unzip the rom then go into the build prop and updater script and change it to vs980 from whatever it was originally. Also if u have network issues u can try to go into the build prop and change any instance of "lte on cdma device=0" to =1 and default network=9 to 11. Another thing that may work if there is no option for cdma in network settings is to dial *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone settings n change it to lte, evdo, cdma there.
Note: I would stay away from any kk rom that says "recovery included" or anything similar as you definitely don't want it flashing the wrong recovery to your phone so ask in the roms thread for someone to clarify what exactly the zip flashes,
Note #2: this should be considered a beta so you flash at your own risk. But im 99% sure that the worst case scenario is that it wont boot n you have to manually boot back into recovery n flash a different rom cuz these patches dont touch anything that would mess u up too bad, also it works on my phone and I've got confirmation from a few others that it works for them as well
note #3: these patches include a vs980 kernel for stock or aosp depending on the patch, however you should be able to flash any custom kernel of your choice after the patches
Note #4: the aosp patch is from dr87's mahdi rom which i believe is caf based, idk what mokee or sokp uses but if its not caf based try unzipping the aosp patch and replace the boot.img in it with one from slim or cm or just ask in the roms thread which kernels are known to work for that rom then flash that after the patch,

Awesome. This looks amazing. Quick question if we were to follow this and install a different ROM, would we have to follow these steps to flash an update of that ROM?

while it completely depends on what's in the update and what it changes, id say it's easier and safer to just say yes, any updates should be followed by a reflash of the 2 zips

Yeah, I'm pretty positive dirty flashing without the patch would bootloop. Better off dirty flashing with patch and such, or to really be careful just clean flash every time. Flashing every nightly to me is silly

In the build prop for aeon flex you have to find the line something like LTEconnectivityonCDMA=0 and change the 0 to a 1

really? the script in the 1st zip is supposed to inject all the necessary apn's bulid prop edits and other stuff for lte on cdma to work outta the box. both cloudyflex and rayglobe flex that i tested this on worked fine, well i did have to toggle airplane mode after switching to lte/cdma from global mode in settings on rayglobe but after that everything was fine. did you guys try changing from global to lte/cdma in settings before having to do the build prop edit?

what the post above mind said. the thing about roaming in the title is in reference to the fact that the initial ports of some of the flex roms you had to either do a bunch of steps involving flashing a 12b rom then dirty flashing flex then clear data from a laundry list of apps or you could clean flash but have to put up w constantly having the roaming symbol in the status bar. but then again the op was fairly clear about what this does so if you're curious give it a read
Thanks for the fun down.. I'll check it out
I used this and flashed Pardus from d802 forum. Seems to work great so far. Had to install 8sms to get MMS but other than that seems good. Thanks!

Oh yea my bad I forgot to put that in the op. All the flex ROMs don't work w MMS cuz the v/ls980 uses a different MMS apk. Its like lgusmms.apk or something and the other variants use just lgmms.apk. u could try replacing the MMS apk from any flex ROM w the one from a 12b based ROM n reboot n see if that fixes it. Also if just pushing the apk doesn't work try pushing APN.conf to system/ect I think it is n see if that does it. I'll try it myself to see if that works

Maybe this is a dumb question. But since we have used the upgrade path via Malidus and its "prep" flash (which was 24a baseband and partitions). When other Roms are developed for true kit Kat on our devices (also eventually) will we be able to flash from where we are at considering for all intents and purposes we are on the 24a baseband?

There's a way to have the auto script check the MD5's after copying to the phone, but the coding is so complex I could not figure it out.
This guy here did it for the Spectrum, which we could alter his coding and make it for G2. Maybe JC can look at it.

We don't know. Probably not and would have to take the same approach again flashing those higher partitions to make the radio work with any new rom.
Thank you for this!! As a new G2 owner this will help me a lot. Am I correct in assuming this is the same procedure followed by tools like Flashify? i.e. copy the Lokified recovery image to device.
Looking in the zip, this is TWRP 2.6.3.4. So after this, to get to 2.7, we can get the official TWRP flashable zip, boot into recovery and flash that. Since I don't believe a Lokified 2.7 exists. Right?

Everything has to be lokified. If it isn't it can potentially brick your device. I've been on this same recovery twrp for all my testing and building of roms and never had a problem.

4) flash Autoprime 12B radio/baseband/modem
5) flash superSU zip (to ensure latest root, 2.46 version)
6) reboot
7) enjoy fast Lollipop CM12
By the way, very nice rom, NoIdea24 :good::good::good:

To clarify, you're building 100% from LG Devs sources, given the sources you linked, yes?

I use xdabbed's 12b bootstack/modem, and it replaces download mode with "fastboot". BUT. you can use fastboot mode to flash download mode back.
Actually, xdabbed has a zip to restore download mode, and another zip to flash back to 26a bootstack, ill pm you the thread link with all the zips you need,

Keep in mind with updating the bootstack it will also update your radio. So make sure you flash the 12b radio or this build will constantly boot you back into recovery

New build
New build is uploading to devhost right now at a rate of "Infinity Minute(s) Remaining @ 0 KB/s"
It will eventually compete. No major changes, just keeping the source up to date. Everything is working the way it should be. For the next build, ill probably remove the camera app and replace it with "open camera".

anyone deodexed tmobile stock rom?

Has anyone deodex and successfully installed a stock system image yet? I haven't tried this yet but I am thinking of giving it a shot sometime soon. I was wondering if there were any potential issues of doing this such as wifi calling or what not. The reason I'm doing this is because I'm s-off'd and I'm hoping a deodexed system will allow xposed to successfully work.

Any luck? A deodexed rom would be a huge help for the development community to work on this phone, especially with WiFi calling and voice over lte.
I made a flashable zip, but forgot to change permissions on the apk's on it. It still booted up into android and then android performed it's "upgrading" function at startup and then it rebooted into a bootloop. I had to go somewhere so I ended up flashing back my backup and have not gotten back to it since then as I just got home. I'll try it some more tomorrow or over the weekend.
Any luck on the deodex process? If you need a tester, I'd be glad to help.

Hi,
No I haven't had time to work on it any further. I am using a mac so the deodex arm64 tools are all in windows so that's been one challenge, but I was able to do some of that work on my work laptop. The other issue is that I am having trouble getting my updater binary to work. It's failing in TWRP. I'm going to set up a linux environment and install archikitchen when I have more free time, but I've been pretty busy lately.
For whatever reason, I was able to get my original zip to install and reboot and even do the android upgrading function, but then it rebooted into a bootloop. I revised the script to set permissions properly, but then it just fails updating. Sighs.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I made a few different attempts at system images but all cause bootloops. I may have to try re-doing the deodex part again, but I used my own zip and script as well as one generated by ArchiKitchen and all caused bootloops, so it's probably my deodex files failing. Will try again when I have more free time.

Thanks! This took a long time to do an initial boot but it works and I didn't wipe data and kept stock kernel. Also xposed was installed without bootloop and s-off, though i waited to install it after initial boot. So big thanks!

Yeah deodexed roms take considerably longer then odexed roms. I think I clocked 19minutes from the time I rebooted from recovery till android was done optimizing.

Did you ever get your deodexed rom to work, or did you give up on that after getting the one posted by @Steel25? I've deodexed mine using the same tool as you, but now I'm stuck on how to get it to install on my device. All of the info that seems to be out there for this pertains to 32 bit roms, and doesn't seem to work on this one. I really appreciate the one provided by @Steel25, but I also really want to accomplish this myself. If someone can help me do this please post or link or PM me. Thank you in advance.

I am currently just using the ROM that @steal25 posted. I tried several things and for whatever reason, I couldn't get it working except for my initial time but that restarted into a bootloop. Archikitchen also doesnt have a deodexer for lollipop, so if there's a some info on what would work let me know.
A lot of things have happened in my personal life that has taken up a lot of my time so I dont have too much time to tinker around with this stuff lately.
I am currently using the one posted by @Steel25 with Xposed using Xtended settings, and everything is working well. My only complaint is that the cores 4-7 can only be clocked to a maximum of 1.5GHZ. However, I am still searching for a way to properly deodex the stock rom and make it installable.

+1, would love to get xposed running on the latest T-Mo build.
I have deodexed the latest T-Mobile 5.1 build, but I don't know how to make it flashable yet. I'm still learning. If anyone who knows how is willing to give me some guidance please PM me. I'm kinda stuck getting a working update-binary and updater-script.

Stock lollipop deodexed but back on kit Kat I had an AOSP ROM, Pure Nexus by Joe-tech, it's in the development section. Just don't try flashing any Roms for the S4 Active international version (i9295), definitely not compatible

According to other users yes, I always played it safe and went from stock kit Kat to stock lollipop and then flashed the ROM so I can't say for sure. I'll draw you up a debloat list in a little while when I get a free moment

Check out the OP in this thread for an extensive list of system apps safe to remove, it's the list I originally went off of. Yeah it was made for kitkat, but nearly all the names are the same and those that aren't are pretty easy to figure out. Freeze or uninstall any and all unwanted bloatware with Titanium Backup, it's what I did. Some general pointers, uninstall any system app: with knox in the name, with AT&T in the name, anything google like Google+ or hangouts is safe to get rid of (obviously don't touch the play store or play services), and you can get rid of, for example, the stock Samsung email or calendar apps, just don't get rid of the sync services otherwise replacement third party apps won't run properly (i.e. you can uninstall calendar, but not calendar storage). Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer for now
I know on NH3 if you uninstall Samsung Hub your screen rotation will not work and no idea why it may just be my phone. I don't know if this is the case for OC6 I left hub installed for now. There is however a fix if you have that problem without having to reinstall Hub

I assume you mean this fix? Yeah that worked for me for both NE3 and NH3. However you can safely uninstall Samsung hub on OC6, I did and no rotation issues. Hell I was even able to mod android.policy.jar for full 360° rotation on the deodexed rom. But point being this is no longer an issue for OC6, feel free to get rid of Hub.

Practically everything I know about modding stock Samsung system apps either comes from this thread or is at least linked to in it
Some examples: getting rid of the battery cover toast, disabling home button on/wake on text message or USB plugin, coloring/theming systemui and settings, flashlight in pull down menu, CRT screen off effect, changing carrier text, etc. I'm sure I'm forgetting more, but those are some of the mods that for me into that sort of thing
