You can only disable the PIN code if you know the code you set.
To remove the PIN, tap on the SuperSU app in your launcher and type in the PIN code you set. Now, in the SuperSU app, tap the Settings tab and scroll down until you see the PIN Code option (under Security). Tap that, and when the keypad comes up, tap Clear. And there you go!

The PIN is stored in a file which requires root access to get to; if you delete this file the PIN will be cleared. Use ADB to delete it. Chainfire told us here which file to delete so search this SuperSU forum for messages from Chainfire containing "PIN".

Can't change Lock password

Hello,
I don't know if i'm being very stupid or not but I can't seem to change the password to unlock my phone. I know the password but would like to change it. If I goto 'Start -> Settings -> Lock' It locks the phone, rather then giving me any options to change the password.
Am I looking in the wrong place or is the application not working correctly?
Thank you.
You're in the right place, just quitting too soon.
Go to Start/Setting/Lock and then unlock your phone with your current PIN and it should take you on to the password screen where you can change your PIN type, PIN #, etc. Kinda makes sense if you think about it...the screen to change your PIN is PIN protected.
Ahhh, yes..obviously.
Thanks.

[Q] Fingerprint Unlock Issues

Hey all,
I may be completely missing something but I can't seem to get the fingerprint unlock on my AT&T S6 to work consistently. I've gone through the process and set up my fingerprint, but when i click the power button and back on, it asks me to swipe rather than use the fingerprint. At the bottom on the lockscreen I get a "swipe to unlock" message and when i touch/swipe the little water globule appears. I have to swipe to the right to unlock. What's extra interesting is when I reboot my phone, for first unlock (and only first) it asks for fingerprint unlock and unlocks appropriately by me placing my thumb on the sensor. Here's some additional information that may help:
1. Under lock screen and security settings, "Screen lock type" is set to "Fingerprints"
2. Under "Fingerprints" i have Fingerprint 1 which is my thumb
3. Web sign-in and Verify Samsung are currently Off
4. The problem is the same whether i use the power button on the right side of the phone, or press and hold home button, or single press home button then try to use thumbprint
Am i completely stupid and missing something? Seems totally weird to me that on first reboot and first unlock attempt it requires fingerprint, but any subsequent unlock is swipe only?
Thanks in advance for the help!

It hasn't completely locked. There is a option for it in security and go to secure lock settings and then secured lock time

Number and Fingerprint lockscreen help

Ok, I want to be given the option of using either my fingerprint or number code on the lock screen. Seems like I have to pick one or the other.
Am I missing something or do I need another lockscreen app?
Anyone?
I use the fingerprint and it gives me the option to type in the backup code I had specified in setup for the fingerprint option. They allow this in case the fingerprint doesn't work (like if you cut your finger, etc.). Also you can specify up to four fingers which I have done...

Thanks for the reply folks. I do get that it defaults to a code if the fingerprint fails.
My reason is that I work in a lab where I am required to wear gloves, no option for fingerprint scanning, so I have to use an unlock code at work.
My wish was that when I set it for fingerprint, it would also show the numer unlock, thus giving me two options.

No, my lock screen says to use the fingerprint scanner but also has a button labeled "use backup password" (which works). I'd show you a screen snapshot but that functionality is disabled on the lock screen of course. I think that button only appears after a failed fingerprint scan. So how come you can't just use it that way? Just touch the fingerprint scanner to your nose or something and then the button would appear!?!?

unable to lock phone at all

Received the update 9, no issues noted after, then thought I would change my theme, and since then, nicluding after a reset of all settings, I can enrol my face, add fingerprint, set pattern and pin code, but when I push the power button to lock the phone, a simple swipe up unlocks it. I have done this while holding the phone away so the camera cant see my face (just in case its just speedy)
One thing that has me a little confused in 9 is the option where you select the lock option, I go to security & Privacy, lock screen password, and change lock screen password, then input my pattern and select change unlock method, and I have only 4 options, 4 pin, custom pin, pattern and password, no finger print or face recognition listed, and so I select pattern , input it twice, click done, then am prompted to associate fingerprint, which I say yes to.
Now, I lock the phone, press power to unlock, and have the option of the swipe up to unlock (no security period) the fingerprint does nothing other than unlock the phone without the need to press the button or swipe, but is easily bypassed by just ignoring it.
I cannot walk around with a phone that simply has zero security on so can anyone advise on things to try.
I have backed up the entire phone and would rather avoid a full reset if possible
Try changing theme download a 3d free one, when I did that it downloaded some engine, then my lock screen worked.
Seems the update doesn't change the theme, but prompts you to switch, if you don't it doesn't work.

thanks, but still nothing. I can find no way to make this damn thing lock
Go to Security & Privacy -> Lock screen password -> Smart Lock.
Check if you have any options enabled, it can be unlocked by location, bluetooth or even by motion.

Question Custom Message in Lock Screen

I think AOD (Always On Display) has something to do with it but it seems that the option to change the custom text on Lock Screen is removed from OP10 Pro. If true, it is pretty stupid. I mean remove the text set during earlier OS versions and remove the option.
Now I have a text there which could be a wrong info (ex-wife and such) but no option to edit/remove it!
Any help please.
I think you are looking for this...
Settings; personalizations; always on display; display settings; display message.
Is that it?
First of all, thanks for replying.
I do not have Personalizations at all, under Settings. "Always-On Display" is found under Settings > Wallpapers and style > AOD. Under this > More Display Settings > Info does show some info that I can add/remove, but can't edit the message that was already set before OOS13
BTW I am on OOS13.0 (Android 13), v NE2211_11_C.20. No root, no magisk, no customization of any type!
Same problem

Made an account just to post this and come out of my lurker hole.
To get Google pay option in the lock screen shortcut section available, I have to open "wallet" from the status bar drop down menu. If you open the wallet app this will not work.
Once wallet is opened from the drop down menu's icon, three dots on top right will have 1 option for lock screen settings. Click that and the first option is to change lock screen message text and the first toggle option is to allow wallet access from lock screen shortcut.
Here you can fix your text and or make that other setting available for use.
These lock screen settings are only accessible through this drop down quick menu that I have found and not the wallet app for some odd reason.
I accidentally set a "test" text to see where it would be placed and then couldn't get back to the setting and spent the next 8 hours trying to find it.
Hope this helps all who are as confused as I was.
Probably try Google Assistant application, by voice searching through it for "lock screen text" . It worked for me on Android 13 (OnePlus phone)

The issue is with the AOD custom text message, not the locksreen one.
