How my Best Buy Preorder Went Down - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

So I went into my Best Buy Store today at around 2PM PST to preorder the new S6 Edge and wanted to share with you all my experience on how everything went down and some things that might dissuade you from going to Best Buy to preorder.
So when I asked what color I could get, the rep said only Black or White, no gold or green unfortunately. I asked if it's just this Best Buy but she said that it's for every Best Buy location. I said ok and decided to get the AT&T 32GB White S6 Edge. To preorder, I needed to put down a $50 deposit that comes in the form of a $50 Best Buy gift card. You get the gift card right there and when you come in to pay for the device when it's out, you can use the gift card towards the purchase of the phone or buy a case or something if you want.
As for the free wireless charger promotion that Best Buy is holding, I could only preorder it in black, no white or any other color.
Preordering the phone itself took around an hour by the way because of all the technical difficulties in their systems. The rep told me I was the 4th person to come in today to preorder so it's not that hot in my neighborhood but seeing as how the system wouldn't work for a while, I suspect that it's a really in demand device in a lot of other locations. I also couldn't get my preorder in the for the wireless charger due to the same technical difficulties, and so instead of waiting even longer, she decided to just take my number down and keep trying on her own time and call me back when it goes through.

I ordered online at best buy and got the Edge 64gb from AT&T on the next plan and got the black charger for free. The thing I don't understand is I only got charged $38.66?! I thought I was going to have to pay tax on the full retail price?! Can anyone shed some light on this for me.. I tend to miss things like this.

That's strange, you usually pay tax on the full retail price. Would it be possible to post a screenshot of the order confirmation without your personal info on it?

Hmm, weird.
Got a text from my buddy that Best Buy was in fact taking pre orders for Verizon today and not the 1st. So, I went in after work and it took a whole 10 minutes to get the 64gb Edge in black along with the black wireless charger pre ordered. Went really smooth, and the employee explained everything to me while doing it all. No hiccups in the system or anything like that.

Well what state do you live in?
I'm in Cali and had to pay $70 for the 32 gb edge model.

Missouri. I paid like $70 for my wife's note 4.

I too placed my order with BestBuy. Went with the black Edge version for Verizon. Oddly enough, my store here in Miami was having some system issues as well, and the experience took long, but not bad due to having great conversations with the employees. I did get the free charging pad as well, but it had to be done as a separate transaction from the phone, and that again took some time due to system error. The employee just had me walk around the store till the transaction was complete, and he would just come find me, which he did.
All in all it was not a bad experience, just took forever to complete. If you're in a rush, then yes avoid BB till the system error is fixed. It could have just been first day hiccups, but who knows? If you do decided to go with BB for the free charging pad, make sure you have some time to stick around just in case...

Ordered mine off of BestBuy.com.. Got the Edge 64GB on AT&T on Next 20, $915 Total Price, divided into $45.75 a month. 12 Installments, then S7 lol.
I am actually a BB Employee and I chose to do it online as I know our in store systems are garbage and I didn't want to take a chance.
We also had it on display and the phones ran SMOOTH. I really hope AT&T doesn't botch it with their useless Bloat! The Camera launches in half a second like they have claimed and I really do think Samsung got the design right on both.

That order confirmation could not be more vague lol. The only thing to say is to contact Best Buy but you probably already thought of that. Did you check your bank account by any chance to see if a deposit of some sort went out? I had to pay a $50 deposit for mine so it could be like $50 + $38(due later).

Yeah I did go to best buy last night and I showed them but they didn't know why either. They said I have a confirmation # so I'm good. Checked the bank account and nothing. I guess I will find out for sure when it comes in..

I paid $64.05

Went to best buy and got two on verizon. One edge and one regular. Only cost the 50 gift card for each and got the 2 wireless chargers pre ordered as well. Went pretty smooth for me. He said they where having issues with verizon though because they had to find a loophole since Verizon isnt officially doing it until the first. I wanted the gold but I got to play with a black and I like it so I am happy. They also said if I do edge I will only pay about 130 for the two phones when i pick them up and will get $28 off of each $40 line a month that basically covers the edge payment if I go with the 10gb shared family plan. Sounds like a good deal. Then i can edge up for the The sgs7 or the m10. Whichever is better. This will be my first sammy device since the m9 is falling short this year.

Anyone have any experience with BestBuy and ATT next program. I currently have a phone on the ATT next program, which if I pay $96.00 I can then trade in the phone on that program to get another on a next program. The question I have is am I able to keep my current phone even after preordering in store at BestBuy until the Galaxy S6 Edge is officially released and I can pickup. I don't have issue with waiting until release, but don't want to be without my current phone until release of S6. Hope someone can shed some light on it.

Yes you keep your phone until you pick up your new one and sign the new next contract. After you get your S6 tho I'm not sure how you get your old phone back to AT&T.. I pre-ordered mine thru BB online so when it's shipped to me I go into the store and sign the next agreement and pay the taxes on it and get it activated.

Does the wireless charger promotion only apply to devices being purchased through an upgrade? Because I don't want to use my upgrade for this one but the wireless charger would be nice. Also I wonder if they'll price match AT&T. because AT&T is selling the edge for 815 and not 850 like best buy is claiming.

Yes you get the charger even if you buy the phone off contract.

Once you pick up the phone, Best Buy has "return kits" they give you. Should give you a box and prepaid shipping label so that you can return your phone to AT&T. This gives you a chance to get your stuff moved over to the new device and all that jazz. Pretty straightforward process, and when my dad upgraded this way, a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Any of the Best Buy preorders shipping?

I haven't seen anyone saying they have. I'm checking my email every day and hoping.

Nexus 5 - Best Buy Price Match - Share your story!

New Nexus 5 owner here. I was a Nexus 4 owner until yesterday. I sold the N4 (8GB) to my co-worker for $200.
Well... I went yesterday to my local Best Buy (Laredo, TX) and went to the Mobile section and this (pretty) lady was at the desk. I told her that I wanted to get a Nexus 5 without a contract, cash. She took the keys and opened a drawer behind her and took the N5. I asked her for the price and she told me it was $450. So, I opened the browser on my phone and searched the N5 on the Google Play Store and told her that Google was selling the phone for $350 and if it would be possible for them to price match the phone. She told me that it was possible. She took my N4 and verified the information. She called the manager (a rocker-tattooed kinda guy) and he authorized the price match. They have to put the store to be matched as Other.
Success!
My recommendations. Be polite. Just act casual and don't be nervous.

best buy is the only retailer i know that matches the online price of any product. i didnt know the nexus 5 was sold in stores.

Yes, they do match prices of other online stores, but the list of the stores they match is limited. The Google Play Store is not included, so, this is why the price match of the Nexus 5 is YMMV.
From Best Buy:
"Amazon.com, Apple.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, Frys.com, hhgregg.com, HP.com, HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com, Newegg.com, OfficeDepot.com, OfficeMax.com, Rakuten.com Shopping, Sears.com, Staples.com, Target.com, TigerDirect.com and Walmart.com. We will match prices between our stores and BestBuy.com®. We will also match prices post purchase if we lower our price within 15 days of your purchase."

Try to flirt or something with the BB employee. I think I did that inadvertently.
Worked for me in Madison Heights, MI Best Buy. Picked up a 16GB Black and sold my 32GB black I had purchased from the PlayStore. I did not need the extra space as I still have 10gb free on my 16gb.
Comes with a Sprint SIM in the phone but no SIM tool, so just used a pin, popped it open and put my AT&T SIM in and have been using it since.
$370.99 out the door after MI 6% tax.

Nice.
When did you get it? I got it yesterday at 7:00 p.m. approximately.
If you can price match the phone at Best Buy, it is a way better deal than getting it from the Play Store. You don't have to pay shipping and you don't have to wait!
Back on November 20th, I believe (receipt is at home) . I had to stay late for an evening meeting and stopped by BB after reading some posts about people PM to BB on another forum. Took all of 3 minutes or so. Manager came over to authorize the $100 price match to online price with no questions.

I got Best Buy to price match the day it came out. They didn't really give me any issues. Yes, there is a list of sites they price match, but if it is a reputable site, they don't really care. I also had a $100 BB gift card for switching my electric company, and I sold my N4 for $200. My out of pocket cost was like $70 after taxes..

Now that's a good deal. Hopefully N5 retains a good resale value in a year or 2 as well.

I'd go in person and say the same thing. When the sales associate won't listen, ask to talk to the manager. Say the same thing to him. When he won't listen, bring up the Play Store, and go to technical specs. At the same time, go to Best Buy's site or Sprint's site and go to technical specs (whichever will show the ACTUAL specs; BB's site doesn't seem to go into too much detail). Then just Google "Nexus 5 versions" or "Can unlocked Nexus 5 be used on Sprint?" and show the results. Basically show them that everyone knows that the devices are identical except them.
Of course, showing them that is no guarantee that they'll honor the price match. As this whole thread states, YMMV when it comes to them price matching.

AT&T Next Upgrade After 4 Months

hello all. just wanted to give a heads on some information that i didnt know and may be valuable to someone else that didnt know. today i talked to at&t about upgrading my galaxy s5 with using an upgrade from another line on my account. the lady i talked to told me i didnt have to do that because i was eligible to upgrade my phone by taking in my current gs5 to the local store and upgrading it for a new phone. i have the 12 month upgrade plan. i asked her if that was possible since i have only been paying on my gs5 for 7 months now. i got the gs5 on release day. she told me that i am eligible to upgrade with an at&t next plan as long as i have paid at least 4 months on the monthly installment and my phone is in good condition. i didnt know you could even do that. i thought i had to wait til the 12 months was up then take my phone back to them to get a new phone. i asked her again, is she sure its after 4 months and not the 12 months that my contract said? she said yes she is sure. she said they will just take my phone and use it as a trade in to pay off my remaining installments and allow me to upgrade with a new phone and just continue my at&t next plan. i just had to have at least 4 payments on the phone paid.
i dont know if this is public knowledge, i just wanted to share it. i am interested in the note 4. maybe this info will help out someone else that got their gs5 on release day with at&t next plan and want the note 4 like me.

What do you pay $30 a month? You could instead get a OnePlus One every 12 months for the same price and have a completely unlocked phone. Just saying and you can sell your old one instead of having to hand it over to AT&T.
Well this is awesome. I take it iPhone 5s users can also upgrade to a 6 or 6+. My teenage daughter will flip lol. Although Idk if I want to purchase a phone that freaking bends. As for the one plus one. I read it doesn't have expandable storage which is a "phone killer" to me, and I don't think that I want the note 4, since it's going to come with a locked bootloader like the S5. Does anyone know of another reasonable phone that can have pure Android /Cm variants on it that wouldn't be a downgrade to my S5?

the new moto x 2014 is close in regards to specs to the s5 and you will always have the latest android update with motorola and pretty much a vanilla android experience. but i dont know if the moto x 2014 at&t version doesnt allow you to unlock the bootloader. i know motorola does unlock bootloaders on their site. but some carriers they wont do it for. you could always wait for the nexus 6 but that has a 5.9 inch screen. dont know if that would turn you off. there's talk of a smaller variant of it coming out but that's just a rumor right now. the chinese phones come with unlocked bootloaders. like the xioami mi3 and mi4.
you could get your daughter the iphone 6 4.7 inch version. those are not bending and would be a big screen upgrade to the 5s.

i've read that before. but if i am indeed able to upgrade my phone every 4 months, is that really a rip off? i could see the subsidy i pay in the contract as an extra charge for being allowed to upgrade so frequently.

Sheeple? You quoted an article from 15 months ago. When the article was written, it was accurate. However, since then, at&t released their value plans. If you have the value plan, you save $25/month if you use at&t next to pay full price for the phone. So, there actually is a benefit.
Depending on how often you want a new phone, it may or may not be a good deal.
Not trying to tell anyone what to do, Just saying that people should do their own research, and not just rely on old articles that someone posts.

the 4 month policy of having at least 4 monthly installments paid is 100% true. they changed this policy 2 months ago to be more competeitive with other carriers upgrade policies. as long as you've paid 4 installments on your phone you can bring in your phone every 4 months and upgrade to a new one as long as the phone is in good condition. they use the trade in to wipe out your remaining installments and start you on a new one. so basically you can upgrade every 4 months now with at&t. that's a pretty awesome deal if you're into always having new phones a couple times a year. that is better than t-mobiles every 6 months. they also reimburse you $25/line to take away the normal subsidy that the regular 2yr contracts have. so you arent paying an extra subsidy for having an at&t next plan.
just wanted to give a heads up to let everyone know this news is indeed true.
Lmao
Not sure which country your in where this is "indeed true" but I have just confirmed this is not true in North america. No 4 month trade in applies to any next plan.

I'll just go into the retail store. Believe me, I want you to be right (and I do believe you) because I am so sick of my S5 and this p.o.s. locked bootloader.. ugh..
@Jaredw18
well now i look like an asshole. :/ i talked to 2 diff customer service ppl and they told me the info was wrong. the info i had got that made me make this post was even in my account notes. but the 2 ppl i just talked to said that they were wrong that i still had to finish the installments for the 12 months before i can upgrade. i really wish all their reps were on the same page and gave the same info. i'm sorry and i didnt mean to lead anyone wrong.

You have no idea how bad I wish you were right.. That 2nd gen Moto X is looking pretty good to me right now. Hey, at least I have a 3rd (2 year) contract line that's available for an upgrade. Maybe I'll be able to sell this mint cond. S5 to someone who isn't worried about development as much as I am.

Darn not real guess I'll just wait til the spring then LOL. I haven't owned a Motorola since my first Android w/ T-mobile the Motorola Cliq LOL I got it to run CM7. Does this one have a micro SD slot? I didn't see it listed in the specs. I stream my music over B/T in my car, so without expandable storage, it's no good for me... be just like buying an iphone (OK maybe not as bad as buying an iphone LOL) Plus I wish they'd have lime green instead of turquoise.
ATT.....sucks...
I'd jump...but business plan has me tied down tight...
Guess I'll start petitions at work to change....g
I wanted to believe this was true also so I called 611 last night to confirm. The rep told me it was not but did tell me something interesting. He said that after 2 consecutive payments, you have the option to pay the rest of your installments to meet the 12 or 18 months upfront and you can upgrade earlier. So if you signed up for the 12 month, after 2 payments, you can pay the remaining 10 month installments all at once and immediately turn in the device and upgrade. Not as great but still an option I guess.
@ILuvRice- Why would you have to pay it off and return the phone. Doesn't sound right to me. Once it's paid, it's yours, correct?

Used T-Mobile JUMP! No Option for Free SD Card

If you used T-Mobile Jump! for your upgrade, did you have the option to select the free item being offered?

I didn't use Jump but I did order the phone online.... I called customer service before hand to ask such question and was told that after I receive the phone I use a number off the box or receipt to claim gift.... At that time I can choose what I want...
But during the process of ordering there was no option for it....:good:

I can't answer that.... I clicked the upgrade part so that's all I know.... Like I said I called Customer service before hand and it seems as though if you do it by phone you can say what gift you want but... they now implement a $20.00 "assistance fee" for doing it by phone....
I politely told the lady I don't want to pay the $20.00 and proceeded to do the transaction online... She was very helpful though and answered everything I asked so I do appreciate that...
You have to go to the Samsung promotions site when you have phone and receipt in hand to place your order.
SD card and Fit 2 will take up to 12 weeks for delivery.
Netflix is a digital code.
https://promos.samsungpromotions.com/galaxyoffer/
You need IMEI, MAC address and receipt from the device.
---------- Post added at 09:09 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:03 PM ----------
Oh yeah, and the promotion for the Fit 2 and SD card is limited to the first 250K then they substitute. . .
So when you get it, hop to it.

I also used JUMP via Web to place my preorder. There was no option for me to choose either, Hopefully there still Gear fit 2 available for me to redeem my gift.
I guess this must be the first time you guys have gotten any perks like this. ITs been this way for quite some time that you basically upload a copy of your invoice and use your IMEI number to process your order for samsung promotions. Also dont get too crazy thinking it may come right away generally it takes 4-6 weeks to receive promotional gifts
So far I have gotten netflix, wireless chargers, gift cards and gear vr. They will send it so dont get too nervous if you feel like you been waiting a while.
I just ordered the phone on jump on demand and the guy told me i wasnt gonna be eligible to receive the sd card or gear or netflix promotion with it. It was only available if i got it as a eip or bought full price. Sucks but still got it anyways.lol

With jump on demand you can only do it over the phone or in store upgrade. No online upgrade. For pre order just call tmobile and when it asks you to say what you are calling for just say representative. Tell them you want a jump on demand upgrade and to preorder a phone. And whenever you get the new phone just go to a tmobile store and return the old one. Really quick. Make sure you keeo the charger, they wont ask for it.
If the phone is already out then just go to any store and they will trade it for you. Also pretty fast. The cool thing is that you dont have to put any money down for any phone with jump on demand.
The only reason I didn't order it was because they had a 70 down plus tax on jump on demand. I kept asking if that was right because it didn't sound right. Guess they did have a money down thing for jod on the note 7 but got rid of it because people were complaining. Sucks because I would've ordered it last week. But it's cool I guess. I'll just order it today

I went ahead and paid the $70, then got a text two days later from T-Mobile stating that I could do it for no money down, all I had to do was call back in and they would change it for me and my monthly amount would go from $33.50 to $37.50. I went ahead and just left it alone as I didn't want to risk losing my place in the shipping line.

Buy the T-Mobile Oneplus 6T

The $300 off deal ends tomorrow so please repost, share, and comment as much as possible
I read the Do Not Buy the T-Mobile OnePlus 6t post and concluded, like I am sure many of you did, that I would need to pay full price for the unlocked version from OnePlus to get the freedom I wanted. Then I read this on androidpolice.com
"T-Mobile versions of the phone will be carrier and bootloader locked as expected, but a mechanism for their unlocking is described. Once devices are paid off in full and utilized on the network for at least 40 continuous days, they can be carrier unlocked, at which point you can request an unlock token for bootloader unlocking from OnePlus. The phone can also be paid off early even if you elect to use the payment plan for the $300-off promo, and bill credits will continue to be received"
Source: https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...mobile-version-restrictions-bootloader-betas/
and subsequently chatted with a T-Mobile rep(screenshots below) and have changed my mind. The Do Not Buy the T-Mobile OnePlus 6t post completely mischaracterized the situation and failed to acknowledge many key points. The only good reason to buy the T-Mobile is for the bill credits and I believe the "drawbacks" are worth the $300.
The supposed drawbacks are as follows.
1. Only one version. Mirror Black 128gb
Do not know how you could use 128gb let alone twice that, and the frosted black scratches more easily anyway(JerryRigEverything's video)
2. You can't get the $300 bill credit if you pay off the phone immediately.
Incorrect. Despite multiple sources online saying otherwise, you can pay off the phone and still get bill credits according to a T-Mobile rep I spoke with. (screenshots below) The rep states that you should wait till your first bill cycle to pay off phone to be safe(I will be doing so) but even if you pay immediately and don't receive the credits its nothing a call to customer service wouldn't fix.
3. You have to wait 40 days to carrier unlock
Incorrect. Carriers will keep their customers at all costs. If you call customer service saying you are leaving the country they will happily unlock the phone early.
Source:
https://www.androidauthority.com/t-mobile-oneplus-6t-bootloader-unlock-922051/
4. Have to wait 1-2 weeks for bootloader unlock token
No argument here, I can wait 2 weeks to save $300.
5. Only one sim slot.
It appears that the only difference is the sim tray, not the actual slot hardware so there will almost certainly be sim tray modding tutorials. Apparently, the device has a different modem with only one IMEI so dual SIM may not be possible at all but this is still unresolved and most likely hackable.
I just spent like an hour putting this together so show me some love and get this higher then the Do Not Buy the T-Mobile Post.

I actually ended up getting my OnePlus 6T from T-Mobile today. I had my old OnePlus One, which I did love when I used it, but I felt that this trade in deal was too hard to pass up.
I was talking to my store's representative during my purchase, who told me that I wouldn't get my credits early if I paid it off early. I generally did leave the store feeling a bit unsure, so before I even unboxed my 6T, I ended up calling in myself and the representative I spoke with told me otherwise--that if you pay off early once the promo has actually been approved, then you'll continue to receive the credits overtime and that it would ideally be 40 days with service before I could request a SIM unlock.
To defend more your points more concerning the Mirror Black 128GB version: The T-Mobile variant is the version with 8GB of RAM, which is future proofing the device and overall going to make for better memory management. I ordered dBrand skins this morning to both customize my phone's look and to protect the phone's glass back. Only an extra $10-$15 to do so.
I truly sat on the promo and thought if it would be worth it or not, and once I saw it was ending tomorrow, I deemed it was worth it myself. Getting $300 off, which is only $50 less than what my the One cost back in 2014, is an amazing deal for a device like this. I've enjoyed my few hours with the 6T and am excited to use it now over my Galaxy S8.
Agreed. People are so early to cry out in panic without bothering to do the research. Hopefully in the next week or so we will start seeing actual development pop up supporting the TMobile variant. I bought the TMobile variant and aside a few updates and minor hurdles I'm more than happy. This is an awesome device, unlocked or not.
People just need to stay patient and let us do what we do best here at XDA. Mod the **** out of stuff and make all kinds of fun stuff.
Now maybe the developer in me is saying this, but I welcome the challenge. I like having things to work on.
Let's do it up right and drop the constant slew of negativity.
It is a good deal... Unless you have JOD... When I went to the store to buy mine the system wouldn't let me finance with the promo under my JOD plan... And I would have to change to the basic ONE plan... So I took a hard pass on that...
The JOD plan was a truely "Uncarrier" plan that I plan on keeping for as long as possible.
I got the phone the second day it came out. I traded a LG G6 that was almost 2 years old. I held off the Samsung phones for a good reason..
This is a killer deal. And not a lot of casual people are taking it for granted. Maybe because there's no gimmicky marketing to shove down their throats.
I will be definitely be paying this phone off early.

This deal was perfect for me. My old N6 was due for a replacement, and I have a grandfathered T-Mobile plan that I'll never drop. As soon as I saw the $300 off promotion for trading my old N6 for the Oneplus 6T, I jumped on it immediately. Where else can I get a SD 845, 8GB ram, 128GB storage, 6.4" AMOLED, 3700mAh phone with specs similar to flagships for $300?
I knew going in that the bootloader was locked, and I may have to wait two years until I paid off my phone before I could unlock it. Every single phone that I have ever owned until now was unlockable and rootable, but this deal was too good to pass. I was considering paying of the phone early and maybe getting it unlocked in a few months. But after a few attempts I got T-Mobile to sim unlock my phone, and I expect that OnePlus will send me the unlock file within two weeks. So this deal is great if you already are with T-Mobile and have an old eligible phone lying around. And who really cares if the T-Mo variant comes in shiny black, it will end up in a case anyway.

You can use JOD if you pay off your current device in full.
Or you can just search Facebook market/Craigslist for a cheap iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, Nexus 6, or some other phone you can find for $60-$100. And still get $200+ off of the phone.
I am getting it via JOD on the 28th. I don't care about the sim unlock or even the bootloader unlock. I did a JOD upgrade from the S9 to the LG G7 ThinQ on October 29th and got it all setup just as the announcement was made. I had heard rumors about it coming to T-Mobile but I don't trust rumors cause 99% of the time that's all they are.
I have wanted to jump on the Oneplus band wagon for a while but didn't have the means and this partnership is perfect. With this next upgrade I will now stop upgrading monthly, which drives my wife crazy.
Day 1 TMO purchaser here, very happy with the phone. Even though I came from an unlocked S9+ and was apprehensive at first, the $300 deal was too good to pass up. I'm in the same boat as others above have described, our family plan is an older plan that I'd be hard pressed to change.

In order to do the JOD upgrade I had to buy the phone outright but I wanted to be able to unlock the bootloader so with that in mind, if I had to pay the full 580 without a trade in or 380 with a trade in (I was trading my pixel 2xl and 200 wasn't enough for that trade) then it just made sense to buy directly from 1+ which is what I did.
@truckerdewd the 1+ 6t is not eligible for leasing under the JOD.... but if your store rep says otherwise then please let me know.
Correct. Here's what is stated in the official deal for Jump and Jump on Demand.
T-Mobile said:
If I have JUMP! or JUMP! On Demand (JOD), can I still save 50% on a new OnePlus 6T?
If you have JUMP!, you can choose to take advantage of your upgrade benefit if you've paid off 50% of the device OR you can take advantage of this offer if you've paid off (or choose to pay off) your device in full. You have the choice to take advantage of whichever is the better deal works best for you!
To participate in the $300 trade-in on JUMP! or JUMP! On Demand (JOD) you will need to trade in an eligible device that is paid off and then purchase the new device via EIP.
For JUMP!, you can take advantage of this promotion if you have an eligible device, pay off any remaining balance, and trade-in your paid off device.
For JUMP! On Demand (JOD), you must elect to purchase your device and pay off any remaining balance. If the device is an eligible trade-in for this offer, you may trade it in and then take advantage of this offer.

T-Mobile is being intentionally vague. You should be able to do a normal JOD to the 6T without credits and without paying off your current phone and then normal JOD to the OP7 without credits in a few months if T-Mobile carries it.
They want you on EIP and off JOD.

Question Free Pre Order Items in Canada?

Does anyone actually know how to get the pre order items? I pre ordered mine launch day through Bell, I just got it today and I'm super confused. I've spoke with Bell multiple times and they have no idea.
First call they told me I just bring my proof of purchase to any bell reseller and get the headphones and smarttag in hand at the store
BestBuy then told me I'm suppose to get a voucher from Bell and give that to Samsung online, and they are send directly from Samsung.
Bell then told me that I gotta wait for the phone to arrive, and use the Samsung Members app once I have the phone, and it will know it's an S21 Ultra and prompt me for the voucher, and then I can redeem it with Samsung to have them sent to me.
I now have the phone, registered with Samsung on my account, Samsung Members app installed, no prompt, no messages, no frums to fill out, nothing.
I'm now waiting for the new Bell SIM to activate so I can't call Bell back to ask why there's nothing on the app and what I should do, so, figured I would check here since I have time to kill while I wait for the activation to take place on my SIM
How do I redeem this preorder bundle? Has anyone in Canada actually got the headphones and smart tag doing a pre order through a carrier? Like, What? How does multiple people from the carrier itself not even know how to redeem their own offer?
UPDATE:
Talked to Bell again because the lady I spoke with prior, activated my new SIM on my brother's number (family account), so now I gotta wait for the new 5G SIM to come in the mail lol. The guy I spoke with this time I asked the same question, how do I get the headphones, and was super chill, told me straight up and just said, I'm going to be blunt here, we have no idea how to get them, the deal is offered with Samsung and all we know is Samsung is giving them out to people who bought from Samsung first, and once you can no longer preorder from Samsung, the carriers will get what's left of the bundles as a free for all for whoever can redeem the voucher first.
So directly from a Bell Employee, the preorder bundles are a scam if you bought through a carrier, Samsung is offering the deal through their store only until the preorder ends and then the chance of getting the preorder bundle when the preorders close is pure chance.
May the odds be ever in your favor..
I bought through Rogers and the attached came in the box.

Okay I didn't get that from Bell haha, I miss Rogers, we don't have that here anymore. It's only Bell, Telus, and a local company that took over for Rogers but you can't get every phone through them and their customer service is terrible and not 24/7.
EDIT:
I flashed the Official Samsung Unlocked Firmware on the SM-G998W, and when I opened the Samsung Members app, I was prompted for the E-Voucher and redeemed it. So this issue is with the Bell Firmware.
Bell also lied and told me I would get the matching colour the phone, but only the Black ones are for the promo.
Bell really became shady as hell recently. Legit false advertising from their reps cause I got the silver phone so I could get the silver headphones, straight up lied to me lol.
I got the pre order stuff from Bell.
Says on Bells website to get it from the Members app.
Went into Members app on phone, scroll down to benefit section. There is a small photo showing pre order e-voucher. Click that, brings up your code, copy to clip board. You then click the link to go to the store to use voucher.
First few times I did it, it showed the items out of stock. Tried it an hour or so later, no problem, added to card, put in the e-voucher code and balance is zero. Fill out shipping details and poof your good.
Got mine through Telus and it's exactly what Rosco said, go into your Samsung Members app, look for offers and there will be a coupon.
Go to Samsung.com and add the two items, drop the coupon code in at checkout and voila, order placed.
now if they would just ship them lol. Been saying "preparing dispatch" since Saturday.

That is OK as, in theory, the coupon which came with my Rogers phone said delivery from 6-8 weeks from the date of redemption. I am just hoping that shipment will be done this week some time. A week before I ordered a wireless charger from Samsung and it was shipped on the first business day (a Monday) from somewhere in Ontario via Purolator Express and was delivered before noon on Tuesday in Montreal, despite stating "standard shipping". I am hoping that we will get an advice of shipment close to 5 pm today.
finally changed from perparing dispatch to processing...lol. Not sure what that means ha

Thanks for the heads-up. However looking at mine (Is yours the same?) I too see the "Processing" but it is no longer "Preparing despatch". This is almost retrograde as preparing despatch to me would be packing the items, preparing waybill etc. Processing sounds like some earlier step.

I still believe preparing dispatch is better. If they are really serious about the preparing dispatch advice then it should ship latest tomorrow but perhaps this evening. But what do I know?

I know it is bad form to reply to your own post but obviously I was clueless as to Samsung's shipping procedures. Looking at the Rogers' website, it appears they are still offering the promotion until the end of February. It would appear that sales are hardly off the wall. That leads me to believe that, as they advised on the promotion, this may take weeks before the items are shipped. This makes sense from a logistical point of view. People have 2 weeks to return their phones. How do they handle the situation of people receiving the bonus items and returning the phone? One would think relatively easy but you have two parties involved here, Rogers and Samsung and communication may be a bit broken. So they decide they will let a good time pass and it will be clear who kept their phones and who returned them.
sometimes you just end up with the free item. That has happened to me in the past when I returned a pixel to google. I still got the preorder bonus weeks later.
I preordered through samsung which I can't fully recommend doing if you are paying in installments as they terms mention a potential monthly fee for going that route. I ended up getting it outright but the buds and tag came with the device. When I got the note 20 the preorder process was a bit broken (got through telus) they told me I had to go into the store, the store told me I had to order online.
Hopefully your stuff shows up soon.
yes you need to do it from the members app, got mine all ordered today

Oh yes. Not sure to whom that was addressed. From the members app I pasted the coupon into the store and everything went normally. This was the week before last. It has, however, been stuck on preparing dispatch for myself and everybody else who purchased this phone through a Canadian carrier. I was just wondering when they will actually ship.
Yeah I'm still waiting, still says preparing dispatch
Just a follow up, hasnt changed. I did a live chat to inquire...may be waiting some time if true lol
We have requested for the product to be shipped. Right now it's in the preparation stage.
However, shipment of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Series 5G bonus is expected to take between 6 to 8 weeks from the date that you redeem your E-Voucher on samsung.com/ca.

Thanks for this, although not the best news.
Well, they're dispatched! I can't believe they actually shipped!
