Buy the T-Mobile Oneplus 6T - OnePlus 6T Guides, News, & Discussion

The $300 off deal ends tomorrow so please repost, share, and comment as much as possible
I read the Do Not Buy the T-Mobile OnePlus 6t post and concluded, like I am sure many of you did, that I would need to pay full price for the unlocked version from OnePlus to get the freedom I wanted. Then I read this on androidpolice.com
"T-Mobile versions of the phone will be carrier and bootloader locked as expected, but a mechanism for their unlocking is described. Once devices are paid off in full and utilized on the network for at least 40 continuous days, they can be carrier unlocked, at which point you can request an unlock token for bootloader unlocking from OnePlus. The phone can also be paid off early even if you elect to use the payment plan for the $300-off promo, and bill credits will continue to be received"
Source: https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/...mobile-version-restrictions-bootloader-betas/
and subsequently chatted with a T-Mobile rep(screenshots below) and have changed my mind. The Do Not Buy the T-Mobile OnePlus 6t post completely mischaracterized the situation and failed to acknowledge many key points. The only good reason to buy the T-Mobile is for the bill credits and I believe the "drawbacks" are worth the $300.
The supposed drawbacks are as follows.
1. Only one version. Mirror Black 128gb
Do not know how you could use 128gb let alone twice that, and the frosted black scratches more easily anyway(JerryRigEverything's video)
2. You can't get the $300 bill credit if you pay off the phone immediately.
Incorrect. Despite multiple sources online saying otherwise, you can pay off the phone and still get bill credits according to a T-Mobile rep I spoke with. (screenshots below) The rep states that you should wait till your first bill cycle to pay off phone to be safe(I will be doing so) but even if you pay immediately and don't receive the credits its nothing a call to customer service wouldn't fix.
3. You have to wait 40 days to carrier unlock
Incorrect. Carriers will keep their customers at all costs. If you call customer service saying you are leaving the country they will happily unlock the phone early.
Source:
https://www.androidauthority.com/t-mobile-oneplus-6t-bootloader-unlock-922051/
4. Have to wait 1-2 weeks for bootloader unlock token
No argument here, I can wait 2 weeks to save $300.
5. Only one sim slot.
It appears that the only difference is the sim tray, not the actual slot hardware so there will almost certainly be sim tray modding tutorials. Apparently, the device has a different modem with only one IMEI so dual SIM may not be possible at all but this is still unresolved and most likely hackable.
I just spent like an hour putting this together so show me some love and get this higher then the Do Not Buy the T-Mobile Post.

I actually ended up getting my OnePlus 6T from T-Mobile today. I had my old OnePlus One, which I did love when I used it, but I felt that this trade in deal was too hard to pass up.
I was talking to my store's representative during my purchase, who told me that I wouldn't get my credits early if I paid it off early. I generally did leave the store feeling a bit unsure, so before I even unboxed my 6T, I ended up calling in myself and the representative I spoke with told me otherwise--that if you pay off early once the promo has actually been approved, then you'll continue to receive the credits overtime and that it would ideally be 40 days with service before I could request a SIM unlock.
To defend more your points more concerning the Mirror Black 128GB version: The T-Mobile variant is the version with 8GB of RAM, which is future proofing the device and overall going to make for better memory management. I ordered dBrand skins this morning to both customize my phone's look and to protect the phone's glass back. Only an extra $10-$15 to do so.
I truly sat on the promo and thought if it would be worth it or not, and once I saw it was ending tomorrow, I deemed it was worth it myself. Getting $300 off, which is only $50 less than what my the One cost back in 2014, is an amazing deal for a device like this. I've enjoyed my few hours with the 6T and am excited to use it now over my Galaxy S8.

Agreed. People are so early to cry out in panic without bothering to do the research. Hopefully in the next week or so we will start seeing actual development pop up supporting the TMobile variant. I bought the TMobile variant and aside a few updates and minor hurdles I'm more than happy. This is an awesome device, unlocked or not.
People just need to stay patient and let us do what we do best here at XDA. Mod the **** out of stuff and make all kinds of fun stuff.
Now maybe the developer in me is saying this, but I welcome the challenge. I like having things to work on.
Let's do it up right and drop the constant slew of negativity.

It is a good deal... Unless you have JOD... When I went to the store to buy mine the system wouldn't let me finance with the promo under my JOD plan... And I would have to change to the basic ONE plan... So I took a hard pass on that...
The JOD plan was a truely "Uncarrier" plan that I plan on keeping for as long as possible.

I got the phone the second day it came out. I traded a LG G6 that was almost 2 years old. I held off the Samsung phones for a good reason..
This is a killer deal. And not a lot of casual people are taking it for granted. Maybe because there's no gimmicky marketing to shove down their throats.
I will be definitely be paying this phone off early.

This deal was perfect for me. My old N6 was due for a replacement, and I have a grandfathered T-Mobile plan that I'll never drop. As soon as I saw the $300 off promotion for trading my old N6 for the Oneplus 6T, I jumped on it immediately. Where else can I get a SD 845, 8GB ram, 128GB storage, 6.4" AMOLED, 3700mAh phone with specs similar to flagships for $300?
I knew going in that the bootloader was locked, and I may have to wait two years until I paid off my phone before I could unlock it. Every single phone that I have ever owned until now was unlockable and rootable, but this deal was too good to pass. I was considering paying of the phone early and maybe getting it unlocked in a few months. But after a few attempts I got T-Mobile to sim unlock my phone, and I expect that OnePlus will send me the unlock file within two weeks. So this deal is great if you already are with T-Mobile and have an old eligible phone lying around. And who really cares if the T-Mo variant comes in shiny black, it will end up in a case anyway.

You Must be talking about XDA from five years ago. Even pixel phones don’t get development on here.

Well, I plan to hopefully put out my own custom kernel. I've already got my source setup and my custom cortex-a75/a55 toolchain ready. Just need my unlock.bin and then the real fun begins :fingers-crossed:

You can use JOD if you pay off your current device in full.
Or you can just search Facebook market/Craigslist for a cheap iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, Nexus 6, or some other phone you can find for $60-$100. And still get $200+ off of the phone.

I am getting it via JOD on the 28th. I don't care about the sim unlock or even the bootloader unlock. I did a JOD upgrade from the S9 to the LG G7 ThinQ on October 29th and got it all setup just as the announcement was made. I had heard rumors about it coming to T-Mobile but I don't trust rumors cause 99% of the time that's all they are.
I have wanted to jump on the Oneplus band wagon for a while but didn't have the means and this partnership is perfect. With this next upgrade I will now stop upgrading monthly, which drives my wife crazy.

Day 1 TMO purchaser here, very happy with the phone. Even though I came from an unlocked S9+ and was apprehensive at first, the $300 deal was too good to pass up. I'm in the same boat as others above have described, our family plan is an older plan that I'd be hard pressed to change.

In order to do the JOD upgrade I had to buy the phone outright but I wanted to be able to unlock the bootloader so with that in mind, if I had to pay the full 580 without a trade in or 380 with a trade in (I was trading my pixel 2xl and 200 wasn't enough for that trade) then it just made sense to buy directly from 1+ which is what I did.
@truckerdewd the 1+ 6t is not eligible for leasing under the JOD.... but if your store rep says otherwise then please let me know.

Correct. Here's what is stated in the official deal for Jump and Jump on Demand.
T-Mobile said:
If I have JUMP! or JUMP! On Demand (JOD), can I still save 50% on a new OnePlus 6T?
If you have JUMP!, you can choose to take advantage of your upgrade benefit if you've paid off 50% of the device OR you can take advantage of this offer if you've paid off (or choose to pay off) your device in full. You have the choice to take advantage of whichever is the better deal works best for you!
To participate in the $300 trade-in on JUMP! or JUMP! On Demand (JOD) you will need to trade in an eligible device that is paid off and then purchase the new device via EIP.
For JUMP!, you can take advantage of this promotion if you have an eligible device, pay off any remaining balance, and trade-in your paid off device.
For JUMP! On Demand (JOD), you must elect to purchase your device and pay off any remaining balance. If the device is an eligible trade-in for this offer, you may trade it in and then take advantage of this offer.

It is eligible for for Jump On Demand. It is posted all over Reddit and other places. I also reached out to T-Mobile Help on Twitter

I'm not doing the trade in. I am just doing a a regular JOD upgrade. That is all. I wouldn't be ae to take advantage of the trade anyway if I was gonna go that route cause I am in the hospital right now waiting for surgery.

6T is eligible for JOD. My wife did it last week.

T-Mobile is being intentionally vague. You should be able to do a normal JOD to the 6T without credits and without paying off your current phone and then normal JOD to the OP7 without credits in a few months if T-Mobile carries it.
They want you on EIP and off JOD.

I honestly don't know how then...cause the guy showed me the screen with the 2 options pay the phone in full with JOD or finance with promotion and change my plan. There wasn't a third option for my account... but if it works out for yall then awesome. I wasn't that fortunate.

AT&T Next Upgrade After 4 Months

hello all. just wanted to give a heads on some information that i didnt know and may be valuable to someone else that didnt know. today i talked to at&t about upgrading my galaxy s5 with using an upgrade from another line on my account. the lady i talked to told me i didnt have to do that because i was eligible to upgrade my phone by taking in my current gs5 to the local store and upgrading it for a new phone. i have the 12 month upgrade plan. i asked her if that was possible since i have only been paying on my gs5 for 7 months now. i got the gs5 on release day. she told me that i am eligible to upgrade with an at&t next plan as long as i have paid at least 4 months on the monthly installment and my phone is in good condition. i didnt know you could even do that. i thought i had to wait til the 12 months was up then take my phone back to them to get a new phone. i asked her again, is she sure its after 4 months and not the 12 months that my contract said? she said yes she is sure. she said they will just take my phone and use it as a trade in to pay off my remaining installments and allow me to upgrade with a new phone and just continue my at&t next plan. i just had to have at least 4 payments on the phone paid.
i dont know if this is public knowledge, i just wanted to share it. i am interested in the note 4. maybe this info will help out someone else that got their gs5 on release day with at&t next plan and want the note 4 like me.

What do you pay $30 a month? You could instead get a OnePlus One every 12 months for the same price and have a completely unlocked phone. Just saying and you can sell your old one instead of having to hand it over to AT&T.
Well this is awesome. I take it iPhone 5s users can also upgrade to a 6 or 6+. My teenage daughter will flip lol. Although Idk if I want to purchase a phone that freaking bends. As for the one plus one. I read it doesn't have expandable storage which is a "phone killer" to me, and I don't think that I want the note 4, since it's going to come with a locked bootloader like the S5. Does anyone know of another reasonable phone that can have pure Android /Cm variants on it that wouldn't be a downgrade to my S5?

the new moto x 2014 is close in regards to specs to the s5 and you will always have the latest android update with motorola and pretty much a vanilla android experience. but i dont know if the moto x 2014 at&t version doesnt allow you to unlock the bootloader. i know motorola does unlock bootloaders on their site. but some carriers they wont do it for. you could always wait for the nexus 6 but that has a 5.9 inch screen. dont know if that would turn you off. there's talk of a smaller variant of it coming out but that's just a rumor right now. the chinese phones come with unlocked bootloaders. like the xioami mi3 and mi4.
you could get your daughter the iphone 6 4.7 inch version. those are not bending and would be a big screen upgrade to the 5s.

i've read that before. but if i am indeed able to upgrade my phone every 4 months, is that really a rip off? i could see the subsidy i pay in the contract as an extra charge for being allowed to upgrade so frequently.

Sheeple? You quoted an article from 15 months ago. When the article was written, it was accurate. However, since then, at&t released their value plans. If you have the value plan, you save $25/month if you use at&t next to pay full price for the phone. So, there actually is a benefit.
Depending on how often you want a new phone, it may or may not be a good deal.
Not trying to tell anyone what to do, Just saying that people should do their own research, and not just rely on old articles that someone posts.

the 4 month policy of having at least 4 monthly installments paid is 100% true. they changed this policy 2 months ago to be more competeitive with other carriers upgrade policies. as long as you've paid 4 installments on your phone you can bring in your phone every 4 months and upgrade to a new one as long as the phone is in good condition. they use the trade in to wipe out your remaining installments and start you on a new one. so basically you can upgrade every 4 months now with at&t. that's a pretty awesome deal if you're into always having new phones a couple times a year. that is better than t-mobiles every 6 months. they also reimburse you $25/line to take away the normal subsidy that the regular 2yr contracts have. so you arent paying an extra subsidy for having an at&t next plan.
just wanted to give a heads up to let everyone know this news is indeed true.
Lmao
Not sure which country your in where this is "indeed true" but I have just confirmed this is not true in North america. No 4 month trade in applies to any next plan.

2nd gen Moto X has basically the same performance specs as the S5. Without all the crapware that comes with touchwiz. This phone has so much potential hardware wise.. What a waste of a great device. Thanks for screwing up another good phone att..

Darn not real guess I'll just wait til the spring then LOL. I haven't owned a Motorola since my first Android w/ T-mobile the Motorola Cliq LOL I got it to run CM7. Does this one have a micro SD slot? I didn't see it listed in the specs. I stream my music over B/T in my car, so without expandable storage, it's no good for me... be just like buying an iphone (OK maybe not as bad as buying an iphone LOL) Plus I wish they'd have lime green instead of turquoise.
ATT.....sucks...
I'd jump...but business plan has me tied down tight...
Guess I'll start petitions at work to change....g
I wanted to believe this was true also so I called 611 last night to confirm. The rep told me it was not but did tell me something interesting. He said that after 2 consecutive payments, you have the option to pay the rest of your installments to meet the 12 or 18 months upfront and you can upgrade earlier. So if you signed up for the 12 month, after 2 payments, you can pay the remaining 10 month installments all at once and immediately turn in the device and upgrade. Not as great but still an option I guess.
@ILuvRice- Why would you have to pay it off and return the phone. Doesn't sound right to me. Once it's paid, it's yours, correct?

How has the Gear 2 changed since summer?

Hey guys,
I had a gear 2 when the S5 same out, i liked it but i was a bit disappointed for the lack of apps. I get it, Tizen is a niche, but the watch was actually pretty good...but i still sold it because i needed a little extra cash. Now I have a Note 4, and i have some extra cash, plus i can get my hand on one for 50$ brand new on cyber Monday...i will get it, but my question is, how has the watch changed since i sold mine in July? Do you guys think Samsung is taking care of their product or has it been abandoned? Have any devs actually made some great apps to see your social network feed on the watch? Last time i checked, it was almost impossible to see your facebook and twitter timeline. And when it was possible, it was with a lot of give ups.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but where is it available for $50?

Canada. You have to be a Rogers customer
Up in Ontario Canada, Rogers has a similar promotion - but you need to also purchase and activate a Samsung phone - on a 2 year contract.
They do have the Gear 2 Neo for $99 - free shipping. You do not need to be a Rogers Customer and purchases can be made online.
Promotion runs until tomorrow.

Since i bought my note 4 quite recently, i got retention to give me the neo for 50$, also after mentioning the 'launch day activation problems" they had helped me get my activation fees waived.

Nice. After being burned by the Note II Knox update, I have avoided Samsung products for a while, the Note 4 is seriously making me consider switching back.
I personally really despise Rogers as a company though - so I like to point out alternatives or workarounds to avoid Contracts - Force of habit.

I'm not sure how you got "burned" by knox because in Canada, there is nothing a carrier can do to you if you root or screw up your phone while being rooted. Rogers never gave me any crap about sending them a galaxy S2 with a fried CPU because i was not agile enough at the time to properly overclock, i also had 2 more returns for a defective sim card reader and an LTE modem problem, my phone always had knox triggered (at the time it was the trip counter) but it always passed on warranty.
Don't take this as an attack personally on you because I know a lot of people with that way of thinking, but why anybody avoid contracts? Are you going to have a phone for the next 2 years? The answer is most probably yes. Are you paying less on contract? Not really if you plan on buying a 900$ phone outright. Do the math, I paid my Note 4 250$, you'll pay it closer to 900$ off contract, the difference is 650$. Divide by 24 (months on contract) = 27$. Unless you have a 25$ crappy plan with no data, it's better to get your phone from a carrier on contract and get a 60$ plan that includes some form of data and allows you to get a phone for much less.

It's a fact that the Last official update for the Note - forgive me if I don't provide the build numbers - was a horribly laggy mess. Then in the name of security, they included Knox which includes the Knox Bootloader - which basically made it impossible to downgrade to a legitimate older version of the ROM via Odin. Flashing an older version of the ROM will fail, cause a boot loop and to add insult to injury - trip the Knox flag. The Knox flag is something different from the old "Triangle" flag that that you are thinking of - and yes - I do know that Samsung was extremely lenient previously, regarding rooting - although I'm not even sure if the phone techs back then even knew to check for Root status.
I know of 2 people who were happy with Android - give up in disgust and go back to the iPhone thanks to the mess Samsung made - yes it was that bad.
My phone was working perfectly fine before the last update. So ironically - to "fix" the phone, I needed to root it, flash a custom ROM - just to make the device usable again.
My issue with Knox was that it was never installed on the phone originally - Samsung decided to add it in - and due to the way Knox works, made it impossible to go back. It was not a feature advertised with the phone, nor was it a feature I needed or desired, and there was no way to remove it. Get around Knox? Yes - it became possilble after a while. thanks to the hard work of ppl on XDA, but it still angers me thinking about it.
If I wanted a device where the manufacturer locks everything down with an update and tells me what to do with MY PHONE - I would have went with an iPhone and have loads of fun with Jailbreaking again and again after every update [/sarcasm].
Here's my plan - currently on Koodo - $60/month + taxes - 250 Outgoing Canada-Wide minutes, Unlimited Incoming, Unlimited Texting/MMS, Unlimited Evenings and Weekends starting at 5pm. 6 GB data.
Currently on Telus - the closest I can get to my current plan = 300 minutes + 6gb data. Costs $115 with a "Premium SmartPhone", $95 if you bring your own phone. That's a $55 difference + taxes/month compared to what I currently have.
Quebec has a decent 4th carrier, Videotron. In the rest of Canada, we don't have that luxury. Wind and Mobilicity lack LTE speeds and decent coverage outside of the metropolitan areas.
I have never paid $950 for an unlocked cell phone. Ever heard of the Nexus 4 or Nexus 5? How about the OnePlus One? Heck - even the Xperia Z3 costs $700 from Sony Store - fully unlocked. I bought my Note 2 on Kijiji for $500 - Jan 1, 2013 - I believe the phone was only for a couple months at that point . If you know where to look there are cheaper options than the Robellus's ridiculously overpriced "deals".

I do know the difference between knox and a flash counter as I have a lot of experience with Samsung phone since they are the only company i buy from since leaving Apple in 2010. I had ALL previous Samsung flagship phones except 2, the first Note and the first Galaxy S. I have had all the rest and have never experienced the issues you mention. And in case you didnt know, on Canadian versions, you always could revert to an older firmware with odin, all you had to do is decompose the firmware and flash the components seperately while keeping the new bootloader.
Also, Telus is not the only one, Rogers offers a much better a 6GB plan with everything else UNLIMITED + all the other options such as VM and Caller ID for 85$ a month and even less expensive on the bring you own phone which bring the value down to 75$. Here is proof

And of course, second had phone always are less expensive but you never know what youre gonna get, and Nexus phone are almost always given out for free on contract because they are, or were, so inexpensive compared to other flagship devices, but the difference between on contract and off contract, on new phones is alsmost always between 400 and 500$ which bring my point back.
Anyways, I get your point. I just don't know if it really worth it to keep your little plan, unless 150 minutes a month is good enough for you of course. It's not for me thats for sure, plus i'm not so cheap on my phone bill, I have a premium plan with 15GB of Data and north american calling plus worldwide SMS included and preferred calling rates across the globe. Most people don't care but when you have family in the states it's nice to know you can them as much as you want for nothing more. Also i stream most of my music off Google Music and Spotify so 6gbs just doesnt cut it. But sure, if you need basic services, you might save an brown bill or two at the end of the year by using off contract second hand phones.

Dude, Like I said - you're in Quebec - you have different plans from the majority of Canada.
The same plan you have in your screenshot - shows up as $125 in Ontario if you buy a Note 4 for $300. $85/month if you bring your own device.
Change your region to Ontario and you'll see what the rest of us see.
And I get 250 outgoing minutes (not 150) and since I have unlimited incoming - I have enough minutes during the day. At night obviously there will be more outgoing calls, but I get unlimited there as well.
I find it ironic that you feel 6GB is a "basic service" - Rogers definitely doesn't agree with you - as soon as I click on 6GB - "Heavy User" shows up. I agree with you - 6GB isn't really enough for some people - and I would love to get more data, but I fail to see why you are still defending Rogers - since it is their pricing structure that makes it so that people like me - that still have "affordable" 6GB data plans - hang onto them so desperately.
Their accounting department must really love you there. And please, don't bother replying - I have placed you on my ignore list. It is people like you that enable Rogers, Bell and Telus to screw over Canada.

Wow, I finally see your true nature, a presidential dickhead. It's people like me that any company loves, i'm not some cheap teenager on the quest to save save any penny while wasting hundreds on pot and booze and other useless stuff. You can't afford something? Go back to school or keep helping the lower class get larger.
If you dont want the costs involved with the new Gear S, then the Gear 2 neo is the next best thing for sure!

The Gear S is not for people like me, i have enough trouble taking calls with my Gear 2 because the speaker is too faint that i don't see myself using my watch to make calls full time. I received my Gear 2 a few days ago and so far so good. I'm still a little disappointed to see there are no watchface makers, i would love to have a watchface that includes my step counter, battery life a few most used shortcuts and time and date. I have to say the watch has def taken a few steps forward but nothing that makes me say i wont sell it any time soon when something a little better comes out. I like it, i just don't love it like i love my note 4
If you root it it's fine. I have the gear 2 neo. Use it for calls all the time. Just increase the volume with root. Works great.

AT&T Nexus cost more??

**Warning** Kind of a long read but I'm curious to other peoples thoughts.
Wanted to share my experience today. I went into a Corporate AT&T store planning on upgrading to a 32GB MB Nexus 6 on the Next program. I'm good with it being carrier locked and I'll just remove the AT&T bloatware. I was excited that they had them in stock, however I noticed that the retail price was for $682.99 instead of $649 like Google has it for. I asked the rep and he was surprised and looked it up. I told him that other carriers were selling it for $649 also, and he verified it but couldn't explain it and mentioned that they can't match it either. I asked why do I want to pay like $30 more for it to be carrier locked and have bloatware installed (okay with it but not gonna pay for it).
At home, I called 611 to see if they would match it and see if they knew why. The first rep basically said that was the way it was and didn't really seem interested. The second time I called (I know now maybe I'm crazy but didn't think its right), I asked for their loyalty department cause I know they have more power. The guy there said he was being told that its not ATT but the Manufacture that is dictating the price. I told him that Motorola has it for $649 on their website and it doesn't make sense that they are letting everyone else sell it for one price and making AT&T sell it higher. Told them that I may change carriers if AT&T thinks that its good business practice to charge more then everyone else.
I want to point out that:
1. I was never rude or demanded anything. Just told them that I hope it gets pushed up and corrected.
2. Realize that this is a first world problem and I could just go purchase it from Google or somewhere else but I feel its the principle. Its not right to charge like $30 more and add to the fact that I would have paid higher taxes.
3. They still ended up not matching the price but did offer me a $50 discount off the contract price but told them I didn't want a contract.
The extra cost is for the high quality paint used for the death star logo on the back. (The one that comes off if you stare at it hard enough.)
Actually, I didn't mind the extra 30 for one simple reason: it didn't require waiting 6 to 20 weeks for moto to get stock and ship.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Ha on the paint. I'm still torn. Almost talked myself into going back and just pay for it.
You know what? I just bought a Nexus 6 from AT&T web ordering and I knew it was $30 more than everyone else, but you know what?! AT&T has them in stock and nobody else does!! Get over it. If you don't like it wait until Google has them on their site and then wait some more until they really have it and can send it to you! I had no problem getting mine from AT&T and I really didn't care that it has their logo on it!

Do you going to leave a service because they charge 30 bucks for a device no one got in stock? Sound like a great business strategy for me... They know they can provide it today while others can in weeks. I will advice you go back
Appreciate the feed back. I realize that's it only like 30 bucks but there is also the added cost of paying taxes on 682 instead of 649. Not outrageous but still there. I doubt they are charging higher because they know they have them in stock. Especially when they are late to the game. They had to send their initial batch back. I wonder if this is fair to be who don't realize they are paying more. I noticed the price difference and accept the added cost, I'm okay with it but it's not fair to an unsuspecting customer.
Complain about it on at&t's Facebook page. The first person that contacts you probably won't be alot of help. They will eventually have someone else contact you. This person can help you. They gave me a $100 bill credit. I could have paid the balance of $582.99 plus tax but I chose to do the next 12 plan. So I paid $682.99 in order to do next and the $100 came off my monthly bill.
Well to update. I ended up going back and getting it. Really wanted to check it out and decided it was worth to walk out with it now. I hope its corrected still though. Now to run it through its paces before the 14 days are up. Like it so far. It is my first nexus device.
Mine was 249.99 with the 2 year contract.
$249.99 + $25 per month extra for 24 months = $849.99 + tax and upgrade / activation fees.
Best buy has the at&t n6 for 649 but the sprint n6 is 699 dosent make sense

That's interesting, on Sprints website its 648.

How my Best Buy Preorder Went Down

So I went into my Best Buy Store today at around 2PM PST to preorder the new S6 Edge and wanted to share with you all my experience on how everything went down and some things that might dissuade you from going to Best Buy to preorder.
So when I asked what color I could get, the rep said only Black or White, no gold or green unfortunately. I asked if it's just this Best Buy but she said that it's for every Best Buy location. I said ok and decided to get the AT&T 32GB White S6 Edge. To preorder, I needed to put down a $50 deposit that comes in the form of a $50 Best Buy gift card. You get the gift card right there and when you come in to pay for the device when it's out, you can use the gift card towards the purchase of the phone or buy a case or something if you want.
As for the free wireless charger promotion that Best Buy is holding, I could only preorder it in black, no white or any other color.
Preordering the phone itself took around an hour by the way because of all the technical difficulties in their systems. The rep told me I was the 4th person to come in today to preorder so it's not that hot in my neighborhood but seeing as how the system wouldn't work for a while, I suspect that it's a really in demand device in a lot of other locations. I also couldn't get my preorder in the for the wireless charger due to the same technical difficulties, and so instead of waiting even longer, she decided to just take my number down and keep trying on her own time and call me back when it goes through.
I ordered online at best buy and got the Edge 64gb from AT&T on the next plan and got the black charger for free. The thing I don't understand is I only got charged $38.66?! I thought I was going to have to pay tax on the full retail price?! Can anyone shed some light on this for me.. I tend to miss things like this.
That's strange, you usually pay tax on the full retail price. Would it be possible to post a screenshot of the order confirmation without your personal info on it?

Hmm, weird.
Got a text from my buddy that Best Buy was in fact taking pre orders for Verizon today and not the 1st. So, I went in after work and it took a whole 10 minutes to get the 64gb Edge in black along with the black wireless charger pre ordered. Went really smooth, and the employee explained everything to me while doing it all. No hiccups in the system or anything like that.

Well what state do you live in?
I'm in Cali and had to pay $70 for the 32 gb edge model.
Missouri. I paid like $70 for my wife's note 4.
I too placed my order with BestBuy. Went with the black Edge version for Verizon. Oddly enough, my store here in Miami was having some system issues as well, and the experience took long, but not bad due to having great conversations with the employees. I did get the free charging pad as well, but it had to be done as a separate transaction from the phone, and that again took some time due to system error. The employee just had me walk around the store till the transaction was complete, and he would just come find me, which he did.
All in all it was not a bad experience, just took forever to complete. If you're in a rush, then yes avoid BB till the system error is fixed. It could have just been first day hiccups, but who knows? If you do decided to go with BB for the free charging pad, make sure you have some time to stick around just in case...
Ordered mine off of BestBuy.com.. Got the Edge 64GB on AT&T on Next 20, $915 Total Price, divided into $45.75 a month. 12 Installments, then S7 lol.
I am actually a BB Employee and I chose to do it online as I know our in store systems are garbage and I didn't want to take a chance.
We also had it on display and the phones ran SMOOTH. I really hope AT&T doesn't botch it with their useless Bloat! The Camera launches in half a second like they have claimed and I really do think Samsung got the design right on both.

That order confirmation could not be more vague lol. The only thing to say is to contact Best Buy but you probably already thought of that. Did you check your bank account by any chance to see if a deposit of some sort went out? I had to pay a $50 deposit for mine so it could be like $50 + $38(due later).
Yeah I did go to best buy last night and I showed them but they didn't know why either. They said I have a confirmation # so I'm good. Checked the bank account and nothing. I guess I will find out for sure when it comes in..

I paid $64.05
Went to best buy and got two on verizon. One edge and one regular. Only cost the 50 gift card for each and got the 2 wireless chargers pre ordered as well. Went pretty smooth for me. He said they where having issues with verizon though because they had to find a loophole since Verizon isnt officially doing it until the first. I wanted the gold but I got to play with a black and I like it so I am happy. They also said if I do edge I will only pay about 130 for the two phones when i pick them up and will get $28 off of each $40 line a month that basically covers the edge payment if I go with the 10gb shared family plan. Sounds like a good deal. Then i can edge up for the The sgs7 or the m10. Whichever is better. This will be my first sammy device since the m9 is falling short this year.
Anyone have any experience with BestBuy and ATT next program. I currently have a phone on the ATT next program, which if I pay $96.00 I can then trade in the phone on that program to get another on a next program. The question I have is am I able to keep my current phone even after preordering in store at BestBuy until the Galaxy S6 Edge is officially released and I can pickup. I don't have issue with waiting until release, but don't want to be without my current phone until release of S6. Hope someone can shed some light on it.

Yes you keep your phone until you pick up your new one and sign the new next contract. After you get your S6 tho I'm not sure how you get your old phone back to AT&T.. I pre-ordered mine thru BB online so when it's shipped to me I go into the store and sign the next agreement and pay the taxes on it and get it activated.
Does the wireless charger promotion only apply to devices being purchased through an upgrade? Because I don't want to use my upgrade for this one but the wireless charger would be nice. Also I wonder if they'll price match AT&T. because AT&T is selling the edge for 815 and not 850 like best buy is claiming.

Yes you get the charger even if you buy the phone off contract.

Once you pick up the phone, Best Buy has "return kits" they give you. Should give you a box and prepaid shipping label so that you can return your phone to AT&T. This gives you a chance to get your stuff moved over to the new device and all that jazz. Pretty straightforward process, and when my dad upgraded this way, a lot easier than I thought it would be.
Any of the Best Buy preorders shipping?
I haven't seen anyone saying they have. I'm checking my email every day and hoping.

For Anyone Who Ordered Direct from Samsung

I just got off the phone with a kind woman over at Samsung regarding my pre-order, placed on the 3rd of this month. I was simply asking her -- considering both t-mobile and verizon have begun charging/shipping phones -- whether or not I should stick with my order at Samsung directly, or cancel it and go through my provider (Verizon... I know).
She very warmly told me, that Samsung would not be shipping phones until mid-September... I got a little worked up at this point and said "excuse me? I ordered this on the pretense that it would be shipped AT THE LEAST by the 19th" to which she fumbled around for a bit and told me that, "No dear, all Samsung orders are going out mid-September."
Suffice to say - this was rather surprising news and I'm pretty damned upset about it. I think I'll be going ahead and cancelling my order and walking into a store on Friday.
Just a heads up to anyone else waiting (if anyone else is waiting) on Samsung direct.
ETA - I didn't mean to post this in the T-mobile section - my apologies!!

I had also preordered the Coral Blue Note 7 directly from samsung.com and chose T-Mobile as the carrier. After reading your post, I called up samsung customer service too and they told me that those that preordered will be receiving the first batch before August 19th. I'm not sure if its just a T-Mobile thing though, since I see that you ordered from Verizon. Maybe you should try calling Verizon too to verify this information before you cancel.
I actually called back a couple of times to get some kind of statistical honesty... Yeah I know.
Finally I spoke to someone high enough up the ladder who said, "the only people who know when the phones from Samsung will ship, are the corporate execs. Despite what anyone tells you, only carriers can release early, as the manufacturer, we just wait. However, if you did preorder early, you will get your phone around the 19th as we've been told."
It only took me 5 phone calls to get some honesty... Albeit bizarre honesty. ALL I WANTED WAS TO HEAR 'Hey man, I'm gonna ship your phone on Monday!"
BTW I also went with coral blue, ordered on 8/3

The difference is a carrier branded model vs an unlocked intl model...might be worth the wait to get an unlocked exynos next month than a carrier branded and bootloader locked device now (or within days...)

Yeah I'm realizing that now after I pre-ordered with a presumption that it would be unlocked. I cannot stand a locked bootloader with no root. Going to return it take a $50 hit for a restocking fee lick my wounds wait 2-3 weeks for the international version to come out.. they have them on Amazon already for $980 but you can't order until August 31st. I guess I'll play with this for 2 weeks before I return it cuz I'm getting charged $50 either way for a restocking fee whether I open the box or not... Plus China is getting a version with 6 gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage. That's what we were supposed to get the begin with from what I understand I've been waiting a year for this. I love the Note line..I have owned every Note ever made... in the last few years it feels like they add one thing and take away two! Samsung needs to be Samsung not copy or emulate Apple.. and also listen to the people because in the end it's us who spend our hard-earned money to buy these products they are now costing upwards to $1,000....if they don't... then I'll have to hit the lottery and start my own phone company with an S Pen...I'll call it Snapple....hahaha

Lol here's the deal- money talk and sh*t walks. Samsung will make WAY more money from idiots who haven't a clue what a bootloader even is thru samsung pay alone than what they'd lose if EVERY XDA member who's ever registered decided not to buy because of it...it's a no brainer for them. And as much as I've loved my Note devices (all of them since the N2) it's a real kick in the teeth smh makes me not want to buy one at all smh except I'll just wait on the 930F or get the Chinese 6gb model imported and activate on BYOD...
