4) Insert ROM disc in CD drive
5) start installation

Yes, the post has been edited... firstly we are in a great need of Custom recovery and we will be grateful if someone does that for us.
if the recovery ( CWM/ TWRP) is made the rooting issue will be solved. Then we will move on to the Custom Rom section. But, for now we need a working custom recovery.

Basically we are noob on this thing thats y asking help from expert dev's we are trying hard since last 1 month no success we are unable to figure out we build cwm too but when we flash its getting flashed but when we go to recovery again its showing stock recovery

Already tried its showing successfully installed but when we go to recovery it showing stock recovery only

These are of no help as they confuse Lenovo Note K3 with our Phone...... infact, our phone is different from K3 note in many aspects.
None of these methods floating around are actually working, including all the PC rooting softwares.
Matter of fact, people giving these tutorials don't even own a real Lenovo A7000a IRL. We are the users and we are well acquainted with the Dilemma.
A custom Recovery ported by a altruistic developer can only put us out of our miseries.

This phone is pretty good. I think, it Comes with unlockable bootloader / unsafe boot image. Even the source + stock firmware is already available.
If experienced developers helps us by giving any custom recovery, we will be very thankful and grateful to them as this great phone is lacking in this area only.

i tried the original recovery image. Didn't work. so i ported. I replaced the core files and retained the ram disk and did a few edits.
Thanks to the guys who made that recovery. It seems that was originally for a K50
credits:
Kishore Dutta for the stock recovery.

Matrix and I were the 1st one to test it and get root. So ..yes, of course it worked for us

Can u please give me the scatter file u flashed the recovery(CWM)

writes the cmw recovery but the phone still shows not rooted
and also how to delete the recovery file in system

1. Extract the MediaTek USB VCOM drivers.zip file and install the Preloader VCOM drivers by running the InstallDriver.exe file.
2. Extract the SP flash tool file and run flash tool.exe.
3. Extract the content of the ROM archive.
*Just only a compatible scatter file is enough for this process but for safety reasons I recommend to use the one contained by the folder of a factory ROM package, that you downloaded from this official site.
4. Open the scatter file, that you can find in the ROM folder.
5. Leave only the recovery line checked, then double click on its Location field and brows for your device specific custom recovery image file, that you can find in the list above.
6. Click on the Download button and connect your phone to a USB port of your computer. The flashing process will start automatically and it needs just a few seconds.*
*At some models you have to press one of the volume buttons while connecting to USB but most of them don't need it and you mustn't press any of the buttons.
7. Now the custom recovery has been flashed. You may remove the USB cable. You can boot your phone into recovery by powering it on while pressing the volume up button. At some models this action starts the bootloader mode and you can boot into recovery from its menu. In such menus you can navigate with the vol-up button and select an item with the vol-down button.

Answer: Yes.

6. What is Secure boot img.?
Answer:
The factory boot images of UMi Super ROMs are insecured (unlocked), that make some security sensitive apps (banking apps typically) useless since they refuse to run with a root access alert.
To solve a such issue, you may replace the factory boot image by the following secured (locked) one. Just download this image file, then in the flasher window double click on the path field of the boot partition and brows for this file.

Better to say: no thread without the Jemmini TWRP's.
Because Umi Super is one of the "bad boy" and need a kernel fix for touch screen (jemmini is the Master for this..)
So many thanks to Jemmini, and is correct to wait for his link about TWRP (please also donate to jemmini for his great work).

What means "scatter file invalid" in the SP Flash Tool? I get this with the latest ROM version after extraction and trying to use the .txt Scatter file in the Tool!?
Does it matter if I have running the latest ROM version on my phone and use the Scatter file from a previous ROM file in order to install TWRP only?

Device specific TWRP are discontinued!
Please note: our kernel detects your Tab2 variant at boot and chooses the right driver and config for your device! In some cases (e.g. if the mainboard or the screen got replaced) your device variant isn't detected right and it will use wrong driver!
I am not sure how many user are affected, but in such case we can skip the intelligent board detection and hardcode the variant.
Attached device specific TWRP should work to flash latest Android 7 builds.
Feel free to buy me a coconut water if it helped you to keep your Tab still, after many years, almost up to date.

Old recovery threads have been closed because device specific recoveries are discontinued and cwm & philz touch are not maintained anymore.
Let's keep this thread on topic here please:

Yeah, it is ok. I'll upload it tomorrow to androidfilehost. It was a quick test to check if eMMC 4.5 work fine (some tab2 seem to have newer emmc, because of that current twrp wasn't able to use the emmc and flashing wasn't possible. Its also the reason why latest builds don't boot on some tab2 and getting only a black screen).

hey man, thank you for the recovery and ROM. I am currently running the official kitkat cyanogenmod on the old recovery. So to install and use this recovery, do I just flash it using the current recovery, or is there some other steps i need to follow?

Take zip twrp , sent zip to SD & install via recovery...Or take .tar-md5 file and flash it with Odin... From here by Andi : https://andi34.github.io/recoveries_tab2.html (you must read first)

Windows Defender detected a Trojan in the latest TWRP zip (3.0.2-8).

Update: I searched the md5 in VirusTotal and it came up clean

I have tried the common 3.0.3-0 on my tab 2 7.0 (p3110) but it installs larger than the screen and the touch wont work, connected mouse to OTG but nothing would work. ended up forcing a shutdown and reflash old version.

Sounds like your bootloader makes trouble.

this build has still a lot of bugs:
Camera 1080p video recording lag
not working codec2: (disabled)
no working gps
no working Bluetooth headset mic in calls
no working fingerprint
vsync is in the future
selinux permissive
broken drm (widevine)

Initialy this was the reasone why I didnt post on xda yet.
- add step by step guide install instructions from stock rom to this for newbies like:

3. ...
as the install process is more way more complex than on other devices.
- provide a link of mindgapps mirror as they are reccomended by LineageOS themselves
-give astrako and gonic credits

10. Reboot. Booting should take less than 3 mins.
Generally it's ok to dirty flash, but if you encounter issues a clean flash should be the first thing on your mind.
/!\ OTA builds do NOT guarantee dirty flashing will work fine. (Magisk can cause issues for instance)
Note : Flashing a repartition script should only be done once (unless you flash stock or the pit file which revert them) unless a release not say so.

@F-Google Just a remark: The best, most efficient and fastest way to get such requests accomplished is to alert the moderators team via the report function instead of posting the request and pinging a moderator. Please be aware, with 75M+ posts in 3.5M+ threads were unable to monitor posts. And moderators are spread all over the globe and due to different timezones pings might not be noticed for many hours or for days/weeks in case of a moderator's absence. Contrary, a report will alert "the moderator on duty".
