How to stop pop-up adds - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

Hello all,
I seem to getting random pop-up adds and I have no clue why, what's triggering them or how to stop them. Anyone else having this issue? If yes, how did you stop it?

Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753 AdAway is the best. This is probably an older build but once installed, just update it. It has to be SuperUser allowed and you should be rooted for it to work.
Hope this helps!

[Q] Screen rotation stop working stock JB

Hi, I'm having some trouble with my RAZR I, when I rotate it to landscape it stays there and I can't return to portrait mode. So I reboot it, everything is OK, and after some time the problem returns. This is really frustrating since I never changed to a custom ROM, I only got it rooted.
Does anyone have any solution for this? I just don't know what to do.
Thanks!

Same issue here. The rotation sensor stop working, only a shutdown and reeboot fixes this for some days. It's anoying!
It seems like the issue happens to other phones too: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/98f7df9fa4?page=1
Usual calibration tools like "Advanced Tools" didn't fix the issue.
I never had this problem. Can you see something interesting in logs regarding that problem? Try logcat from Playstore and post interesting things here...

till now, never use logcat.
Should I use this?: aLogcat (free) - logcat https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.jtb.alogcat
I'll record a log before and after the issue.

Sorry, I meant catlog (I always use that) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nolanlawson.logcat.
That one needs root. Do you have root? I really don't know what is possible without root. You can also use adb to get a log (adb logcat).
The log may contain sensitive information you don't want to post here. When you are not able to filter the relevant information (complete log will be huge), you can always send me a private message or better gpg encrypted email with the log. PN for address

"Prevention Information" on Stock Phone?

Does anyone know why I am getting this, and why the device refuses to let me know which app is causing the alert?
I wanna root, and I have read several posts where root was stopped and this message was displayed.
I have a brand new stock phone and wanna get rid of this crap right away !!!
I don't wanna start off my android experience with bugs !!!
I can post screen shots if needed, but anyone else seeing this has already seen what I have.
anyone else in the same boat? How do we get rid of this crap? Which app has been "forced to stop"?
I get the exact same error message from time to time.
Just like you, I don't know which of my apps is causing the error.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using xda app-developers app

It is caused by Outlook Security which is useless but comes on the stock AT&T ROM. Just go into the App manager and stop it, and you should not get the warning anymore. For some dumb reason that program does not like stock apps. You would think they would have tested this more before they put it in the ROM. Oh yeah that's right, that's what we are for.

Go to settings, application manager, slide left to ALL, and I am sorry I had the name wrong, it is LOOKOUT Security.

SDK2 apps update via store

How and when do updated apps & watchfaces get updated to the watch, and how do I know when this has happened?
Does it happen in background, every time I open the app on the phone, or something else?
Nice question, I am wondering the same thing...

Have you used any type of system disabler app to disable anything or did you do anything right before this started? I guess you've tried rebooting the phone.
I am using a disabler app, but don't remember doing anything specific before it started happening. But now that you mention it, it's very possible I disabled something semi-important which I will look into right now.
I had disabled "settings suggestions", which I have now enabled and fixed the problem, thanks!

Notification problem

Hi.
I just noticed that when I received a WhatsApp message I get no notification. Same when someone calls me on WhatsApp. The notification only shows up when I open WhatsApp.
Something that it's probably related, accubatery doesn't provide any stats, everytime I open it it's like I start it for the first time.
I'm pretty sure there is some hidden task killer that doesn't allow most of the apps to do background stuff.
Any idea?
PS: I removed WhatsApp and Accubatery from batery optimization, reinstalled both apps, same thing.
Thanks
LE: In case someone runs into this, disable "deep process clean" feature under settings/system/advanced. It should sort it out.
Same problems
I have the same problems but I can't solve.
Any ideas?

I'm using a CN ROM. I have the same problem with notifications also.
I can't find that Deep Process Clean.
Can you please provide a screenshot?

You may need to ditch that rom for global.
in the cn rom that option does not appear but it also has the same problem

Have you tried using the search function in Settings? The deep system clean option may be somewhere else in settings..
I have not found the search option in the configuration. I have searched every corner and I have not found the Deep process clean

I don't think it's possible that the CN rom would have a glaring fault like this - "Deep Process Clean" enabled but not having an option to disable it.
The whole moniker is pretty clearly a badly translated Chinese version of the concept.
Perhaps, two different people translated it from Chinese to English in the two roms.
Here's a suggestion:
1) Process could be "task", "program", "app."
2) Clean could be "kill", "end", "terminate."
3) Deep could be "Old", "late", "unused."
An actual native speaker of Chinese would probably knock it out of the park on first attempt. Still, I think it's worth a try.
any solved yet for cn rom?
fix?

It seems to have disappeared from settings... Do you have notification problems?
Right after the update to NA 1.18, there were no problems - the Deep Process Clean setting disappeared, but notifications were coming in fine.
That was months ago. Now, I just tested Gmail, and it won't receive emails until the phone is turned on.
We need a solution to this. Quickly.

Apparently, a lot of issues were fixed with RM3S. But not with RM3.
No, I don't have RM3S and never did I even imply that I did, bro. I will imply publicly, right now, that I have RM3. You are free to sue me, I have my lawyers standing by. Some have pitchforks. Careful.

Hi, sorry to bother you, but is there going to be an update to NA or Global RM3 rom soon?
The problem is that the "Deep Process Clean" option disappeared from settings, and now the phone won't get notifications until it is turned on. The notifications were fine immediately after 1.18 update, but now, 1.5 months later, Gmail won't work until the phone is turned on. Some other people have also noticed this behavior.
If there's an update coming up, could you ask the engineers to put the "Deep Process Clean" option back please?
Thanks.

Version 1.18 removed the deep process clean feature due to some bugs, it will kill the apps and preventing them to run in background. You can do a factory reset and see if you can get the notification.

I am not sure what to make of it.
1) The option was removed, but clearly, the code is still there that kills the background apps.
2) He suggested that I do a factory reset, because I may "see if you can get the notification." I would hate to the reset the phone and find out it still kills apps.
3) I wonder if there's any way to clear cache or data from some app/system app to make this work.
Any ideas?
