Have you used any type of system disabler app to disable anything or did you do anything right before this started? I guess you've tried rebooting the phone.

I am using a disabler app, but don't remember doing anything specific before it started happening. But now that you mention it, it's very possible I disabled something semi-important which I will look into right now.

I had disabled "settings suggestions", which I have now enabled and fixed the problem, thanks!

Accessibility failure

Trying to authorize accessibility for Tasker and a Keyboard
When I toggle the on switch, I get a dialog asking me to cancel or confirm. Confirm button is inactive.
Can anyone help?
The only thing I can think of here is that there might be something going on with your permissions. Did you sideload this keyboard? If so, you need to make sure the permissions are correct, or it might not work. Other than that, if it persists, try uninstalling and re-installing.
Are you using Lux by chance or any screen brightness app? You need to disable it before you can click confirm. This happened to me with pie controls.

How to stop pop-up adds

Hello all,
I seem to getting random pop-up adds and I have no clue why, what's triggering them or how to stop them. Anyone else having this issue? If yes, how did you stop it?

Where throughout the OS or in certain apps or browers?

Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753 AdAway is the best. This is probably an older build but once installed, just update it. It has to be SuperUser allowed and you should be rooted for it to work.
Hope this helps!

Can't activate Device Administrator

I've been trying to install AdHell 2, but to do so I need to enable Device Administrator for it. However, when I go to do this and press the "activate" button, it just does nothing. Doesn't respond in any way.
Out of curiosity I went into Settings > Lock screen & security > Other security settings > Device administrators, to see if I could enable it for any other apps, and I couldn't.
So, what's preventing me from enabling this?
Thanks
I have exactly the same problem in my S7 Edge, I guess it has to do something with the firmware version we are using.
If someone finds a solution I will appreciate it

It was actually a theming app that was preventing me from pressing it, for whatever reason. I disabled my apps one by one until I found the one causing it.

note 9 data dropping

My data need to be turned on and off after every time I unlock the phone. I've tried all the usual things reset network settings etc. In safe mode there was no change. I wanted to try a modified apn but sprint has them locked down. Anyone having this issue?
I don't expect any third-party app to be able to control mobile data without Secure Settings on Pie. Please try following:
1) Try removing Mobile Data Quick Tile from Notification Panel and try to replicate the problem.
2) Revoke Secure Settings by following this. Make sure to replace grant with revoke.

Seems to have stopped after removing the tile. Is that a known issue?

I have experienced apps that control Wifi or Mobile data (via Quick Tiles) sometimes behave absurd. I have even seen Mobile data working (with icon) while the quick tile is disabled. However, I have not imagined that this could be a problem with someone else.
Glad that this worked. I think this needs to a discussed issue over XDA!

It's still happening I guess it was just a coincidence. I can't seem to figure it out.
Just figured I'd update in case anyone runs into this. I did a full setting reset earlier today and so far I haven't had any issues. I'll see if I discover the root cause while I get it set the way I had it.
Glad that it's fine now. Just keep memorizing your last few changes so that in case it happens again, you can relate.

How to prevent ColorOS[CN] setting from changing back?

I realized that when I change some settings in ColorOS it magically changes back without telling you.
I installed Google Assistant from the app store. It required Google Assistance to be selected as the default Assistive App [default value : none]. After I changed that.. it changes back at some random amount of time.. I'm not able to work out how long it takes for it revert the setting.. but sure enough it will.
Another App is LastPass.. It requires me to Enable Autofill from accessbility Options.. Once again I turn it ON.. after some random amount of time it will revert it back to "Off"...
What can be done to stop this from happening?

Happens to some degree in the EU model too, noticed the lastpass app autofill stops amongst other things. Am thinkin maybe it's the Phone Manager app which I think kills battery intensive apps if you allow it

I'll give this a try.. I've gone into phone manager -> startup manager and allowed the two apps.. the two apps wasn't there even though I have allowed the app to run in the background.
We will see tomorrow.
Nope that didn't work.. anyone else have other suggestions? Anything to remove delete or hack?

Man,I don't know what the issue is but read on the Realme community that the OS just reverts to defaults to ensure proper functioning of the phone,
ColorOS is certainly the biggest downside to this phone. Am missing OxygenOS on my 6T a lot though I'm Gona stick with the x2 pro for now,
Bought the phone for its flagship specs and storage and and to get away from the hassle of messing around with the phones setting's with tricks and mods.
Have decided to just accept colourOS for what it us.,though there is some battery drain,it's not awful and I'm still getting notifications.
Will just have to hope things improve with updates and the next big update should improve things a lot, mind you,it's a long way to April ?
Not notice anything revert on mine... This sounds like the same issue I had on the mi 9... I can't remember how I solved it but it was something to do with the auto security checks the phone manager app did... After a set amount of time the phone manager would perform certain checks and reset certain options throughout the operating system.

Sounds about right,Have feeling the phone manager app has something to do with it.It does not like the developer options
Ok.. I found my work around for now.
I'm using tasker every 10 mins to change the accessibility options for all the apps that need it and set the google assistant to default.
Working ok so far for the last day.

Seems like more trouble than its worth, the only settings I'm having trouble keeping are the animation ones, but honestly it's not bothering me anymore. Have animations setting set to fast in the stock launcher setting and it's not so bad.
Didn't think lastpass was working but it has been appearing to autofill login to sites in a chrome
Did anyone found a solution? Im having this issues too...
