Just picked up my Edge from Verizon. Full of scratches! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Anyone else get the same from the store?

First time hearing about it with Verizon.

There is an unsaid rule that, if you claim scratches (or non-scratches, for that matter), you have to establish it with pictures. Pics or GTFO, more or less.

Nope no scratches here.

Yeah, I know the rules... just didn't have another phone to take pictures with. I'll post some up later tonight.

Sigh. I'm really scared for when my phone comes in. Verizon's Gold phones are delayed, so I'm really hoping things get settled by then.

I'll be giving the phone a thorough once over before leaving the Verizon store. The rep is just going to have to deal with me breaking out the flashlight app on my current phone to check the screen.

i made sure to check before i left the store but no scratches here. Black, s6 edge, best buy preorder

From what I have seen on other phones with this issue - T Mobile - you won't need a flashlight to see it. It is pretty obvious.

No scratches here

My black edge was just delivered to me from an overnight fedex, and I have zero scratches. Time for my invisible shield.

No scratches on mine...

None on mine....pics?

Are there scratches on the back?
no

standard 2 day shipping
What type of screen protector protected your device in transit – plastic film, screen protector, etc?
sleeve
White, Black, or Gold?
black 32gb (china)
Shipping date?
the 8th

Got mine today from Amazon...Not a blemish.

Got mine today from Version with zero scratches! I'm glad I got there a little early cause they only had 1 s6 edge. People behind me where pissed
Sent from my SM-G925V using Xparent Red Tapatalk 2

I got one White, 64GB from China and no scratches here. I hope the gold one I ordered doesn't have it either. Sorry about that mate

64gb black made in chinaand also have no scratches. Got mine from vzw store. The only thing I see is the criss cross pattern of the gorilla glass but I have to look really, really hard at the right angle with a bright light. If I shine an led on it and look real close I can see some of the same criss cross lines but that's normal. It may appear to some as scratches. I definitely don't have swirls. Also no obvious scratches

Wife has the T-Mobile version and is perfect. No scratches or light staying on from flash. Seems as solid as a phone yet. Say that as a proud g3 owner.

Clarivue HD GLASS Screen Protector

Let me know what you guys think, I am pretty tempted to give it a try... oil and fingerprint resistant.

Wow, I wish I would have found this before I ordered my voyager 2, this looks nice. Update us when you get it and install it!

hmm, im interested just because its a dry install!
I use clairvue screen protectors on all my phones, but I'd love to know how the glass ones perform. Really though, what's the advantage if a glass screen protector over the standard ones? I have no issues with the smoothness or the spen on the regular ones.

I ordered the glasszone one because of the color options was the main reason but the glass ones are suppose to be way stronger, no scratches and don't show much fingerprints but really its just personal preference.

I've just ordered one now too as the 25% offer ends tomorrow. Will probably get it end of Feb as it's 10-15 days to ship to UK.
Have yet to receive the screen protector, and based off their website I believe this promo is apart of a pre-order. As soon as I receive it I will let you guys know, and include a review.

My only real question:
Does the sp go all the way to the edges or is there some gap?

Any update on reviews? curious on this product as well.
I bought products from Clarivue for years but this last time I bought screens for the HTC DNA. I ended up selling the DNA while the screens were shipping and instead wanted to get Note 2 screens and was even willing to pay all the shipping etc.., but they also wanted me to pay a restocking fee on the DNA screens....even though they had never even been opened!!! The stupid fee along with all the shipping made it easier/cheaper to just order the Note 2 screens and throw the DNA ones away. Needless to say I will never do business with them again and I'd been loyal since my Nexus One days.
It was like 3 or 5 bucks and for a loyal customer of years they wouldn't waive it for me. I would have bought these glass protectors in a heartbeat if not for this...I almost bought them anyway... but stayed strong in the end.
Anyway I hope you guys enjoy them I'm sure they are nice screens. They make nice products but when I needed good customer service it wasn't there.
Any updates/reviews on this. Post seemed to have just stopped. Interested in getting an idea on how the Clarivue HD is working on for whoever has it. Bought the MIME, but I feel like sensitivity was affected when typing. It didn't register the keys all the time. Contacted MIME and they send to send it back for an exchange or refund. Put one of my extra iSmooth sp's back on and I'm happy for now. Just curious about the Clarivue.

Been using mine for around a week and a half now. Seems fine. I think once or twice I might have hit a key and it didn't register but not sure that was down to the protector. Haven't noticed anything else to be honest. Works perfectly for me

I'm pretty pleased with mine - I didn't realize they included a sealed wet-wipe (supposedly anti-static and anti-dust formulated), so I ended up with dust particles after I wiped the bare surface down with a Microfiber cloth and rubbing alcohol. Since I figured I had nothing to lose - as I had an obscene number of dust particles under the glass, I decided to pry it out again and wash it using liquid hand soap and water.
Basically I ended up applying it like a Zagg protector using 99% Alcohol in a spray bottle as a liquid base to a) reduce dust particles and prevent water spots, b) shift the Clairvue into position. I ended up with a pretty decent job - there is only one tiny dust particle - small enough that it isn't visible unless you pull up a white background. There is no air bubble surrounding it and it only showed up a week after the initial application.
My friends who also purchased the same protector applied it successfully without the issues - as they were forewarned by me about the wipe, so I guess the wipe really does help in the installation.
They also included 4 plastic buttons for the home button - to make it easier to press the button down - it came in White, Black, Blue and Grey. The issue with these buttons is that they seem like they're for the S3 and not the Note. It still works but its definitely not the proper shape of the Note II button.
There may be a small loss of sensitivity (maybe 1%?) - but I'm not 100% certain as really hard to tell if its the app or the phone. S-Pen functions fine. The glass is really, really smooth compared to plastic ones - well worth the extra cost. Also resists oils very well - requires fewer wipe downs compared to the plastic ones.
I would definitely buy again - and I'm only including what I went through to apply it since I failed to install it correctly - yet it is recoverable and not all is lost. The adhesive layer is strong enough for some washing. I probably wouldn't pry it out now though as the adhesive has probably cured a little bit. I don't believe it's supposed to be reusable.

The edge models are having that circular issue on their screens.
My standard S6 DOES have a scratch on the screen from new that sits at the very top of the display. There is only about 3mm on the display and maybe 7mm on the top bezel. Its almost totally unseeable except in certain light so I'm not gonna bother with a replacement. Its real thin but deep, that's how I know it was manufacturing.
Seems like I'm not the only one here.
My very first Galaxy S6 had scratch on the screen right out of the box. If I clean it it's barely noticeable, when I rub my fingers over it, it becomes very apparent. I sent it back to T-Mobile.

Honestly I wouldnt bother with it is it werent for the scratch on the screen but I never scratch my devices so to deal with one out of the box is hard. If it was white I probably would never notice it.

Guess I'm lucky. Edge 128GB Black model. NO scratches. No LED issues.. Bought thru jump program if that makes any difference. Ordered March 29th. Ground shipping arrived Friday 3rd.

Just received S6 Edge - AMA

Just got my shiny new 128gb AT&T S6 Edge. Have a couple of hours to kill - feel free to ask me stuff!
I've got mine, but I'm curious does your front screen have scratch swirls all of it when you are in light?
Mine is scratched to hell on the front.
Any chance you want to attempt using CF-autoroot just in case Samsung ignored AT&T's request to lock? Figured I'd ask, despite the fact that there's virtually no chance.

I received my black/128 today as well. Not a scratch in sight. So far loving it but still notice signs of lag. Coming from Moto X 2nd gen and HTC M9. However, it is far less than S5 and is worth it to have a great overall phone with superb camera (M9 was aweful)
How is the battery ? Could you post some pictures?

Well I don't blame you, the 128gb on ATT is frankly outrageously expensive.
My 128gb looks perfect.
How bad is the att bloat? Also did it come in Samsung packaging or the att boxes they have been doing in the past?
Mine appears to be just a regular Samsung box, not specifically AT&T. Also, mine doesn't have any scratches or swirls, I have the 128GB white. It's immaculate.

I've always been partial to the white phones. I'm not too keen on all the different colors. A crystal clear thinnest case available and white is my favorite. The new colors the have though are pretty nice. You'll be very happy with whatever you decide to get.

Samsung pay
Just got my White 32gb S6 edge..Not a scratch in sight! Wanted to ask you guys if you'll have heard anything about the samsung pay. The samsung rep from best buy told me sometime this summer and the live chat on the samsung website told me that its available on the S6 but not yet on the S6 Edge which doesn't make any sense!
For those of you who already have one, how does it feel to hold with the curved screen? It seems sexy as hell but I feel like it's really easy to accidentally touch the sides of the screen

It is sexy as hell! And actually only find the edges easier to grip and less slippy than the S6. So far I haven't had issues with accidental touches, and it makes swiping in side menus actually a pleasure. Some apps are also emerging that make the most of the curves which is even cooler.
ok
ok.....
Can't wait to get it!
Played with one in Costco, and I must say, just amazing! The screen is even better than my note 4, which is saying a lot! And the curves look sexy as hell! Mine will b off contract though, so I will more than likely end up getting the 64gb.
U guys should post some pics......

Attention first time Skinomi users

Just a PSA for first time Skinomi users. When I put mine on two days ago, it looked like absolute trash and I almost ripped it off immediately. But I didn't.
Two days later and it looks great. Like magic fairies put a new one on while I was sleeping or something.
So, if you try this product, give it at least 2 days before you pass final judgement. Also, put it on at night, let it sit overnight without a case on. When you put it on, after aligning it well and squee-geeing the excess fluid off, take extra time to rub your finger along the curved edges. This will make them tack down very nicely (even though the rest will look like trash, just give it time).
Premature use of a case will most likely cause the edges to pop up. Waiting until the next morning to slap on your case is a good idea.
To clarify, this is regarding the Skinomi Tech Skin Premium HD Clear.

I tried that but mine was cut too long. It wouldn't line up with my camera/home button no matter how I positioned it. I'm not new to installing the or any screen protector so if wasn't too long I would've kept ir on.

I've always liked Spigens plastic screen protectors. I had to use them on my Nexus 6 since no TGSP would work with its 2.5D edges. I have one of the Spigen's enroute with a ETA of tomorrow, so I'll let you know how it is.
Edit: It's actually arriving today! I just checked the tracking. I've been reluctant to use my S7E all week because I don't have a screen protector and already managed to get a tiny scratch despite 'babying' my phone.

Yeah it does, as long as you install the right way. No bubbles. This video I am going to link you is for impact shield s8 install. Same concept so no biggie. Watch that video a few times so you get it right. Also order it off ebay it's cheaper. Got 1 new $20, I've seen them even lower. They normally go for $40-50 new elsewhere.
I will advise against it just due to how horrible customer service is. If you need to ever have it replaced good luck.

Use dust stickers and you won't have any issues with dust. You could also use some tape. Also you will notice there's still bubbles after installation. That's normal after 24-48 hours they disappear.

With customer service? I mean I've heard bad and good with the customer service from others in regards to tech21. Not going to lie it's been about 50/50 Good and bad from various sites user feedback.
I am mostly putting my kneck out for there protection. It seem like people where putting on screen protector incorrectly. I followed that girl in youtube video and have no issues. I will say that the screen protector installation has to many unnecessary steps.
I totally believe you. Was just curious how'd they gave you a bad experience?

I haven't had any issues in that department. They give you issues I take it?
Use dust stickers and you won't have any issues with dust. You could also use some tape. Also you will notice there's still bubbles after installation. That's normal after 24-48 hours they disappear.

I find tape leaves marks to be honest. I also find not many people supply the dust removers in their packaging these days.
During the application process in the video, it shows removing film number 3. Whilst removing film number three the other hand is applying the film thus if dust lands during the number 3 process one is screwed?
I'd like to try this film as I think the material used is similar to the ONN Walmart Note 8 and s8plus screen protectors. Almost like glass but not quite. The latter would have been perfect non glass screen protectors if only they worked. Edges lifted.
I'm currently back to the same sort of screen protector that I had when I first bought my N8. The wet applied clear film that has a 2.5mm gap all the way around the edges. Seems to be the only solid ones out there. Made by Skinomi, Illumishield, Armousuit etc , $60 or so dollars later LOL
The Spigen wet applied film was nice with smaller gaps, but the peel on the film was a joke.

Masking tape is the best for this if you're going to use tape. Yeah I don't like how they don't include dust stickers with it. Also you can go to dollar store and use kids stickers. They also work for the cheap alternative. I'd go with that option.
I followed video to the T and bubbles from air pockets 24 hours later where gone. Make sure your hands clean and not in a dusty room. Bright light will help too. Because you will see dust beforehand. One more thing do it on a table.

Really surprised not many folks on here have used the Tech21 bullet shield screen protector on the Note 8 .
Feedback would be nice.

They're not the most popular I suppose? Some people there customer service rubbed them the wrong way. But you see most us who have that brand stand by it.
