TMobile S6 Volte Quick Test - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6

I am wondering about the VoLTE Setting on Tmobile S6.
So a quick Test you can do for me.
1) Make a Call with VoLTE ON - checked box in Settings and observe the LTE Symbol in the Status
Bar at top of Display- it should remain on LTE even if you go in Internet during Call.
2) Make a Call with VoLTE OFF - unchecked box in Settings and observe the LTE
Symbol at Status Bar- Does it instantly change to 3G, H,H+ ,or 4G during the Call
and if you simultaneously go on Internet during Call.
Thanks- trying to see how the VoLTE Setting works in actual use on TMobile on S6.
Thanks.

Go into settings>call
The second option in "call" is "Volte" (voice over lte settings).
You can also open contacts>settings>call
and find it there too.
Good luck!
Wasn't there but
cleared cache and fixed permissions
Shows up now and calls stay in Lte now

How does VoLTE Work On This Phone

Is there any switch that enable/disable volte because when i restart my phone it boots up as VoLTE enabled but after 1-2 days it disables itself. Also my carrier Vodafone Tr labeled Nokia 8 as VoLTE supported phone. And i am in "what in the actual hell?" state. Any of you guys have faced this problem or have a solution?
My SIM is provisioned for VoLTE and like you i have no idea what the phone is up to regarding its actual status. No VoLTE indicators ever show and the Enhanced 4G LTE menu has never shown up. However if i make a call since the SIM was provisioned the phone no longer drops to 2 or 3G it remains on 4G for the entire call so i have no idea what it is playing at.
Strangely i do have VoLTE icon on statusbar when it is available and from my observations when 4g is not available it goes back to 3g, when 4g available again VoLTE icon does not come back and when i make a call it drops to 3g. I don't know if this is network problem or phone's problem but this drives me crazy.

Once volte works little "HD" appears on the in call screen.
I sometimes see the HD icon but no VoLTE anywhere else, i guess it must be working ok then.

It's the same naming as 4G in UK but LTE everywhere else.

Unlocked variant on t-mobile

I have an Unlocked variant which I purchased directly from Samsung.
I don't happen to see VOLTE settings in my mobile networks setting.
Is this normal? I have seen another user post a screenshot from his/her phone which shows VoLTE setting (Telcel network) which can be turned off or on,but my phone doesnt have that.
I am on Tmobile.
tmobile phones have never displayed any VoLTE icons or notifications. Its carrier dependant on if they show it or not.
Unlocked US S10s has every Tmobile feature except Multiline Digits and probably their crappy RCS service
It's also missing the Tmo Video calling.
i have t mobile and always buy samsung international phones. volte, wifi calling,
video calling, and download booster usually dont work until i change the csc to tmo. i would think the ability to do so will be coming once the phone is rooted and out for a while.

1. Normal. The icon is disabled, but the feature isn't.
2. Yes. Testing VoLTE is as simple as placing a call. Phones w/o VoLTE will drop to 3G/2G OR fail if LTE is the only signal avail.
3. VoLTE toggle is missing. I sent feedback to Samsung about this some time ago.

Had this on my 9T Pro and also on my current F2 pro.
Don't know why but if you have a Lte connection showing and when you make a call and the Lte symbol stays that means VoLte works.

It's because VoLTE is Voice over LTE.
If the call is not established over LTE then connection drops to 3G/UMTS during the call
Did you actually understand what I wrote?

I cited your part about icon and explained you why LTE icon disappears if call is not established.
LTE is data connection and for non VoLTE call, connection drops to 3G/UMTS.
Therefore, you are in the call:
- if LTE stays, it means call goes over LTE = VoLTE call
- if LTE disappears, call was not established over LTE
Not specific to Xiaomi, you can Google about
Not answering why you cannot establish VoLTE calls
Yeah thanks guys, after some random restart the icons now working fine

Hi, I have a similar issue with Mi11 and MIUI 12: no VOLTE icon in taskbar and no HD badge in dialer during a call.
SIM is fine: if I put it in a Samsung the HD badge in dialer shows up, also 4G remains active during call.
same issue in Mi 11x pro!
Miui 12.5 is still not refined.

Question Not seeing Network Preference under Enable Wifi Calling Tmobile USA

Hello
I just got this phone and set it up. Its a Global version 13.0.4 SKDMIXM.
I am on TMoblie USA - the phone is working great on LTE and 5G .
I am not able to see the Network preference under wifi calling where is can select Prefered Wifi Calling.
It appears that its running on default Prefered Cellular - because I can only see the VoLTE symbol on top.
Can someone help me in fixing this configuration to select Prefered Wifi Calling ? TIA

Hello, I'm using a 11T Pro Dual SIM India model with India SIM in Slot 1 and TMO SIM in Slot 2.
I have not found the specific setting to make Wifi Calling "Preferred" but, my phone does indicate Vo WiFi even when I have Wifi connected and Mobile Data turned on too once Wifi Calling is enabled as below.
Apparently the Voice Over WiFi Settings (at least here on my phone) only show up for SIM 1, does not show for SIM 2.
Attached are sample screenshots where the Settings are under SIM 1.
Steps to get there-
Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > Click on SIM 1
All the way down, last Setting is "Wi-Fi Calls" to enable "Make calls using Wi-Fi".
Hope this helps.

Operators can disable this menu if they want to lock you onto Wifi preferred or cellular preferred. Does this only happen with this phone or does it also happen with the SIM in another Android phone?

There's a possibility of TMO-US not supporting WiFi calling on the Xiaomi 11T (Global), perhaps.
Although, I have been using various Unlocked phones (Nokia & Samsung) on TMO-US for the past few years & have practically never had issues with WiFi calling on any. Shall have to test it once I'm back. Won't be for some time.
Is your phone on the latest firmware? Try updating it to check if there's a new update available
which hopefully can solve your issue.
Couple of options to test, in case you have not already tested them-
a) leave WiFi Calling Enabled then disable the VoLTE feature and check if WiFi calling works?
b) disable Mobile Data, WiFi Calling enabled with WiFi connected and check if WiFi Calling works.
c) some users have had to ensure their E911 address is correctly in place on the TMO account too.

I had a working One Plus 6 - so I know TMO has VoWifi - I use it a lot due to poor reception at home .
The current workaround to force VoWIFI is
Turn On Airplane MOde
Turn ON WiFi only
then it works in VOWIFI with out any issues
I know I am missing a menu Item that can toggle this setting . I would prefer having that setting but its not a breaker for now . The phone works with all the Network features of TMO , LTE , 4G , 5G etc . No visual voicemail thats all.
Thanks

Same access issue here too.
Wish you luck.
Pinging to see if there is a soln. in future.
