Your welcome mate
Might experiment with a few simple mods like volume rocker wake, center clock, implemented app ops etc. What do you think?

I always did like center clock. Maybe even left signal and data/WiFi if possible?

Is this rom stripped down stock ?

I don't know if it is possible but I remember on JB that some roms had a mod when you went to send our receive a MMS data would turn on and then off after it is sent/received. Therfore you would need to have data on in case some one sends you a pic

I don't really see the point of that mod. I don't see the point of having data turn on then off again and then you have to turn it on again to receive an MMS, unless I misread things.........

Thank you so much for this, I had CM from day 1 and really wanted to experience stock lollipop. A flashable zip is a life saver. Thanks a lot!

Flash-able Nexus4-33-106-lte-enabler-v2.12
Flash-able Nexus4-33-106-lte-enabler-v2.12 in case anyone wants working LTE on their device and don't know about the above mentioned. You also have to flash the 33-106 hybrid modem.
ferrocene: I created a 33/1.06 hybrid, it can be found in the hybrid thread, shortcut is
both the hybrid 33-106 modem and the lte-enabler can be found here.

I remember htc sense ROMs on my old HTC one s would turn data on long enough to receive MMS messages. Very handy for someone like me that only turns on data when using it. For instance right now I'm keeping it off almost constantly until my billing cycle starts over cause I already went over my 2gb allowance.

Any particular reasons for flashing the latest bootloader?

Flashable OTA.
Hi Sir,
Thanks for sharing this build with us,
but - could you assist (or create) a Flashable OTA zip?
for me, this will suite better, since I'm allready running the latest version of android (before the 5.1).
thanks again,
FM

What's the difference between the OTA and this file? You might as well flash this because it's stock or just use the official downloadable OTA link that will deliver it as an OTA

Hi, Sijav sir,
I used your prerooted C5503 4.3 version on my C5502. Worked well. Really thanks for your hard work.
You are simply great that you made it for 4.4 also.
I have few questions. Pl answer.
1. There is one more prerooted 4.4 available in forum. But install procedure is different. I am confused now. Pl clear my doubt.
2. Is there any problem to install C5503 on C5502. (I am now on C5503 4.4 already. No problem). But fear in mind.
3. Somewhere on Google, I read anyone can enable LTE by change in build.prop. Is it true? LTE is software base or hardware base?. (In India, presently no 4G, but in near future it will be available)
Advance Thanks for your patience for my questions.

1. about the procedures: all procedure is the same it's just my rom is some kind of backup of the current state of my own system folder compressed on tar which saves the permission on every file on itself, which will flash on your phone, as I didn't had any meta-info and somehow I couldn't get one by code and I'm too lazy to build it I did this just to be sure that all permission in your system folder are set to right amount, however using an old meta-info (which currently most dev do) is somehow workable and rom will boot but some problems and malfunctioning may occur later. So I just played it safe.
2. Network vendors (BT and WIFI) are different in C5502 and C5503, I have saw many C5502 broken BT and WiFi, they had also flashed C5503 on C5502!
Flashing another phones rom on yours will result malfunctioning or bricking your phone! So I suggest under any circumstances please Flash a ROM specifically build for your phone just to be safe! (better safe than sorry right? )
3. LTE is hardware base! you can disable it in build.prop, you can enable it too. but if your hardware does not supported then it's nonsense!
OOUPS I flashed the the ROM with PHILZ TOUCH 6 - I did not know that it PHILZ until I saw it on screen at the end....what is the risk and the consequences?
By vanilla recovery...

5. Run NDR Utils app and select vanilla recovery (IMPORTANT)
5. Flash my rooted rom zip file and wifi_mac_fix.zip with recoery (DO NOT FLASH THIS WITH PHILZ TOUCH RECOVERY!!)
You mean CWM Recovery, yes?
(And for anyone who can't boot into CWM, go install ROM Manager from Play Store and click Reboot into Recovery once you've set up CWM in the app)

yes CWM recovery, or even TWRP if you have it.
when you install dual recovery you can even change the philz name to cwm and vice versa. or use NDRUtil to go to cwm.
it's easy

Thank for info.
I rooted and installed dual recovery from desktop.
But now I can not boot into recovery by hardware key or NDRUtil also.
I have installed Xperia Xposed module and then I can boot into recovery (But in Philz. by default)
But is it safe?? I have to install prerooted rom.
In case any problem, how to boot into recovery without hardware key.

Strange, if you have installed adb by pressing up you will go to philz touch or pressing down button you will go to twrp.
you might not installed it correctly!
anyways if you have adb you can pass this command > adb reboot recovery, this will let you to go to recovery but ONLY to philz touch.

Mate. Can you guide me?
I'm currently on CM11 and I want to flash and see if stock ROM works better for me than CM11, for testing sake and also 'cuz I miss the camera terribly.
Should I follow the instructions in the OP, or is there another long method? I don't want to brick my phone so a li'l guidance could do me.
Thanks en avance.

[Q] Double Tap to Wake and OTA

Is there any way to achieve double tap to wake on my Nexus 6 and still be able to receive OTA updates?
Probably not, as you have to make a change to a system file in order to achieve it.
I so want double tap, but I don't want to have to give up OTA.
If you're expecting lg style dttw, you're going to be dissapointed
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
No expectations per se, just looking to have access to the original functionality that was pulled, and still have OTA.

Life lesson. You can't always have everything you want. You have to choose based on personal preference.
I'd rather have the ability to use DT2W multiple times a day, than the convenience of an OTA that may happen once every few months.

Great link; thanks! Do you yourself follow the instructions on the link you provided to flash? And, how have you achieved DT2W?
I believe dt2w is enabled at the kernel level. When an ota comes out i just fastboot flash the bootloader, system, and radio and its like you got the OTA just faster

Actually, you don't need to flash all that. You can extract the full ROM and using fastboot, only flash the system.img (ROM) and boot.img (kernel) to update.

rootSU, many thanks for all of the thoughtful responses and the great links. You've given me a level of comfort that rooting to get DT2W is the right choice for me. In the All-In-One link inside of the Fastboot link you provided, the instructions state that I can stop at a certain point if I'm not looking to install a custom rom, etc. I'm not looking to install a custom rom; just looking to root to ultimately get DT2W. Am I correct that I don't need to install a custom rom to get DT2W?
Do you personally use DT2W, and if so, how did you achieve it after rooting?
Is there a link or set of instructions available for the rom extraction method you referenced for manually updating my device in lieu of an OTA?

No problem @Karine.
I'll outline the steps a little.
- unlock bootloader (this will wipe device]
- fastboot flash recovery (TWRP]
- put latest SuperSU zip on your sdcard memory
- flash zip via recovery
To get dt2wake, there are 2 ways.
1) use Google implementation.
Google left this out however someone has managed to recompile the .so file. Many custom ROMs include this. You could also replace the file yourself in stock ROM BUT in my opinion its not as good as method 2 below
2) use custom kernel with dt2wake. This is better as it works more often. Method 1 sometimes just doesn't work.
Personally I use method 2 with elementalx kernel. Like root, it is a zip that you flash from recovery.
Now assuming you are going with method 2, the way to update ROM is below...
- Download full factory image from Google
- extract the zip (twice) to find the system.img
- fastboot flash the system.img only.
- flash the SuperSU zip in recovery to re-root
This should be everything you need.

The Nexus 6 doesn't have an external sdcard slot, so when referencing sdcard the reference is to the internal/built-in sdcard, correct? I recall that the references are used somewhat interchangeably, and don't want to make any assumptions.
Will the elementalx custom kernel change my stock Android experience in any way? And, where do I find that kernel?
Would updating the rom manually in lieu of an OTA in the manner you described wipe all of my data?

1. All android phones have /sdcard be it a removable media card or a partition on the internal memory. Regardless of which one the device has, when We say sdcard - we always mean the same thing.
2. It will be quicker. Its in the original development section
3. No.

[ROM] OxygenOS 4.0.0 Modded instalation zip that don't breaks TWRP...

As its widely known the official installation zips for the 4.0.0 community release of OxygenOS break boot loader compatibility with all other ROMs and all but one TWRP image.
I messed a bit around with firmware/kernel/system combinations to bring you the one and only which allows for running the 3.5.3 with a boot loader which is compatible with TWRP and other ROMs.

I know I could just put booth in one zip but I thought to keep it separated would be better in the long run.
So installation Guid
1. boot into TWRP
2. install the firmware zip
3. install the OOS 4.0.0 zip
4. wipe cache
5. reboot system and go back into recovery (this step prevents recovery from being overwrite by the stock one )
6. install SuperSU if you want or if you not than don't
7. reboot to system
done
Now keep in mind that 3.2.6 firmware while works well with old kernels has a updated fingerprint scanner firmware and will render the fingerprint scanner inoperative for older OOS releases and current custom roms. To fix that just flash 3.2.4 firmware packet together with the custom rom or your restored backup (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=385035244224381128).
Thanks for the scripts, will give it a shot
Step 3 you mean 3.5.2 zip? And step 1 twrp you mean official? I'm currently with the modified twrp.

yes, it was a typo now fixed
> And step 1 twrp you mean official
yes, although in think the modified should continue to work
> Have I lost the base-band, as I retrieve it?
what do you mean? the modem firmware will be also changed to the firmware version you flash
3.5.2 modem
I live in a rural area in Missouri state that I often get poor signal, sometimes one bar on edge. The modem on 3.5.2 gave me the bestsignal and was rock solid steady, sigh, lol. Will you perhaps be releasing a flashable zip for it? If possible??
Thanks for your work and efforts!
If you use CM/RR you cannot use this radio as it will break your home button function.

Yeah, I know. The baseband is different from the others and works better for me. But I prefer custom rooms, lol.
Same. I found this all out before the weekend...

Is this flashable in tarp? Or flashier? And thank you much. Going outside in the rain or snow isn't my idea of fun lol. I bought this hoping it would work better for reception since I'm in the boonies and even the fastest cable is 5mps where you can get it and when it's working lol.
Cheers,
Denny

Yes it is flashable in TWRP. In case you run into issues, simply reflash the 3.2.6 firmware linked in the first post.

I'll try it, I'm not using the 3.2.6 firmware because the home button doesn't work for me. Hopefully it will work and that kind you for your time and effort!

this is working very very well with 3.5.2 modem and 3.2.6 firmware thank you!
Maybe stupid question, but in the step 5 - should we let it boot into the system to the optimizing apps window or do we reboot straight into twrp again? Thanks

QA1 Update Package

Ok, so I have the QA1 package from AT&T, how to I turn it into something that Odin can use?

Is it the OTA update or the actual full firmware?
IF its just the OTA package, we can still use that, all we have to do is flash the preceding firmware with ODIN and then use recovery to flash the OTA zip.
Upon closer inspection, it's just the update package. I can upload it somewhere, but probably not necessary. Downloaded from here with a tip from another thread:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin\wget.exe" --user-agent="SAMSUNG-Android" --no-check-certificate "https://xdmd.sl.attcompute.com/agents/42925/1488/SS-G900AUCS4DPH4-to-U4DQA1-UP"
How do I make this into a zip that can update via recovery?
edit: this is probably faster than downloading via Samsung: https://goo.gl/jGt7TO

Literally all you have to do is put ".zip" at the end of the filename. Its just a zip file without the extension.
Sweet! Thanks for the tip.

It shouldn't... then again I had one OTA flash that half-flashed and then wiped everything so its a good idea to back up your important stuff
Bummer...wiped. Not a huge deal as I had a backup, but to anyone else following: this wipes everything.
Added QA1 - QB1 update here:

This WILL wipe your data when you flash this using recovery.

[Guide] How to Flash Encrypted ROMs on a Decrypted Device (Without Losing Data)

Most custom ROMs for the OnePlus 5 are now supporting encrypted devices only. However, some users choose to keep their device in a decrypted state for MultiROM support and for other reasons. If you follow the steps below, you can flash any encrypted ROM on your decrypted device (without losing data) and your device will remain decrypted! I found this information in one of the many threads I've read (I don't remember which one) and thought I'd post it here to help others and for easy reference. Enjoy!
Follow These Steps:
1. Boot into TWRP
2. Wipe caches, data, and system partitions
3. Flash encrypted ROM
4. Flash GApps
5. Flash Magisk
6. Flash no-verity-op5.zip (not created by me)
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy!
If you closely follow the instructions above, you can enjoy any ROM on your decrypted OnePlus 5 and have the best of both worlds! :highfive:
Note 1: If device gets stuck at OnePlus boot animation after following all of the steps above, hold the power button for 10 seconds to turn off device. Power the device back on and it will boot successfully into the ROM.
Note 2: Some ROMs are not compatible with MultiROM without the inclusion of additional commits by ROM developer.
After wipes, its Flash ROM.. Flash optional Kernel.. Flash Gapps.. Flash No-verity.. Flash optional root (magisk or SuperSU).. Flash optional Viper4Arise?
Is this confirmed working? Has anyone actually tried the process and confirmed that any data on the phone's internal storage is there?

Tested it yesterday with aosip and all data are on internal storage. Flashed validus today without no-verity-op5.zip and it worked too. Didn't lose data on internal storage...

Yes, I have followed these steps to flash MANY encrypted ROMs on my decrypted device.
Confirmed to work successfully! :good:

I've found that flashing SuperSU (instead of Magisk) on encrypted ROMs often ends in a bootloop on my decrypted device. Flashing Magisk seems to be a requirement.
Not working for me. Tried with AICP release from 9/11. Wiped caches, system, data. Flashed rom. flashed gapps (tried stock/full/micro). Flashed magisk (also tried without). -> Bootloop
//edit
sorry i think i misunderstood the post. i thought i can flash decrypted roms on encrypted device xD is that possible too?

No, I believe your device must be decrypted to flash decrypted ROMs.
Thanks for this! Do you know who we should thank for the zip? If there's an original thread for it?

You are very welcome! Unfortunately, I do not know who originally created the verity zip. It has been passed around on XDA by many people.

The original zip was modified for making FBE optional by @snowwolf725. Click here to visit his original thread.
I have a quick question. I just unlocked the Bootloader on my Plus 5 and installed TWRP 3.1.1-1 and Magisk 14.0 on it. The firmware is 4.5.0 as I didn't let it update at all and did all this to the device upon first bootup. I did not decrypt.
I've tried installing latest RR release (final for N cheeseburger) and the install stops with errors. I tried a different rom in the same Android version (7.1.2) and get same results. MD5 checks out on both downloads.
Do I have to flash the latest OnePlus 5 update (full OTA 4.5.10) before flashing a 7.1.2 rom? And should I decrypt my device for easier flashing?
If no one answers, I completely understand and will search some more but this seems to be a cloudy subject that gets many different answers and I thought I would post it here. Thank you all in advance.

Yes.. U need to flash the latest firmware and then flash roms.. There's a thread for firmware.. Flash the whole zip would again give you stock recovery and you have to re do the fastboot stuff so makes no sense..

In addition to what is stated here, if you flash Magisk immediately after flashing the full firmware zip (no rebooting between steps), TWRP won't get replaced with the stock recovery. This is a great time saver!

Darn, well thanks for the reply
I just wanted to thank you for this thread. All of the information you provided helped me immensely. I was struggling with this device and flashing roms at first but one I unencrypted it, with your guide, everything worked great. I was going to leave it encrypted for easier flashing since most all the roms for this device are encrypted only. But I was having more issues than ever. And many, of the posts in here have also answered quite a few questions I had. This should be a pinned tread.
Anyways thank you again. Your thread is a must read for anyone with an Opo5.
