http://androidheadlines.com/2014/12/sponsored-app-review-led-blinker-notifications.html
Unlike other apps in this category you don't need 'ROOT' access to use LED Blinker and this app is very battery friendly!
All rights are needed to run the app, lesser are not possible.
The new right to write to SD card it needed for error reports (check menu extras: Debug mode), please send it to [email protected] if you have found an error.
Please try out the lite version at first to see if your hardware LED works (on screen LED is always working!).
LEDBlinker Notifications has no internet permission, your data is safe!!!
Please check device specific hints at the end!
Fast support is very important for me! (Look at the ratings, thanks to all people!)
If you have problems please do a full re-install and/or reboot your phone.
Otherwise contact me at Facebook/Google+/Email to get help.
Warning: If your phone speaks after install (Samsung S4, S3, S3 Mini, S2, Note1, Note2, Note3, LG Nexus 4) you have to disable Samsung TTS (text-to-speech) under settings -> apps manager -> all (on the right) and Google TTS (text-to-speech).
Only needed when you use the accessiblity service!
Another solution to fix talkback issue:
You can change the launcher by using another one from the Google Play Store. For example, Solo Launcher - Swift & Smart, Nova Launcher, Go Launcher and Holo Launcher. These launchers will not exhibit this bug.
For Samsung S4 users: If your phone speaks when opening your browser you have to use another browser like Chrome or Firefox.
Hint HTC users: Your phone is NOT supported, you have to use the on screen led!
Sony Phones: Please disable stamina mode in your device settings.
Let your led glow with different colors!

Any feedback is highly appreciated!

Here is the Lite Version apk.

This should work normally. but in samsung firmware 5.0.x is a firmware bug. Just try it.

Does the LED of your Samsung device just blink blue since you updated to Android 5.1.1? Start the accessibility service (if available) AND enable the notification access (under sound and notifications or security). Furthermore you SHOULD disable the light/LED in the activated apps, do NOT disable the notification itself (e.g. in Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter, Google Inbox). With these settings LED Blinker should work as usual.

GVXMPP-Push notification of Google SMS!

ok guys, im sure many of u are annoyed by the fact that google voice (official) refreshes every 5 minutes! so that mean you have to wait 5 minutes to get your SMS and that is just stupid. i heard many of you use GV by eric (i think thats his name) and actually stopped working on his app but the cool thing is that he has notification setup for every 1 minute! thats cool, but lame at the same time because you have to use two apps to get a notification. well i just found the app to solve our problems!
Its called GVXMPP and you can get it here!
{

Basically it uses the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP) to literally PUSH your SMS to you! no more waiting for you SMS to come through. for me, being on tmobile, i canceled my texting plan and i just use google voice to send a SMS and I thought i would just have to deal with the whole 5 min notification.
Its really easy to setup and use. Its involves forwarding your SMS to a specific email address (be it your GVXMPP username) and when you open the app, you can see them there. Of course, you could just push them to your regular email address but this is nice because it groups it all under each senders name and you can have an ongoing conversation.
The problems:
This app is in ALPHA stage. It doesnt look pretty and it has some issues. This is the email that I sent them about their app:
-notification bar doesn't clear when u click on on the sms.
-connection randomly disconnects even if the app is running. Takes a couple secs to reload.
-msg from friend was displayed twice. First one didn't come through cuz it was disconnected. After reconnection (after i sent a msg) I got two of the same sms from them.
-when you open an sms from the notification panel, when u hit back it doesn't take u back to the app homescreen (where it displays the sms senders) it just shows you the last person u spoke with and the last message (it removes the newer message or doesn't update) hitting back should take u to the app home menu.
-when u text in landscape mode the text just keep scrolling horizontally as you type. Doesn't jump to the next line like normal.
-(not a bug) ugly ui, can't generate new sms, no picture of sender, not sure why it displays the long ID under the senders name, needs to be integrated with the Google voice app but I doubt that's something you can control. Just so its easier to like place a call or see contact info.

and their response was:
1. Notification Bar doesn't clear - this has been fixed and will be released to the market tonight.
2. Connection Randomly Disconnects - We are continuing to work on this, and so far it's been getting better.
3. Message Displayed Twice - Known issue, working on a fix.
4. Back / Navigation Issues - Noted, will put it on the list of things to fix.
5. Landscape Mode - What kind of phone do you have?

When you get a message, it will pop up in the notification panel. (see below for a screenshot). Okay guys, so try it out. It works for me, yes some hiccups, but they are suppose to release an update tonight! let me know what you think, hit me up on Twitter

oh and....ITS FREE!!!
Bricks were shat.
*Searches on Market for it*
Iman07,
Thanks for your awesome write-up!
Indeed the app is "alpha", but over the past week I've been able to make huge strides in improving it, and am going to try my best to stick to making new releases whenever possible to squash bugs and add functionality.
Another cool thing to point out, you can sign in to your GVXMPP account with any XMPP client, such as Pidgin or Adium. This will allow you to get your SMS messages in the same push format on your desktop/laptop. Additionally, we do not require your Google username or password to make this service work, unlike other solutions.
There will be an update hitting the market shortly which will include:
- Contact Sorting - Contacts will be sorted alphabetically.
- Notification Bug - Notifications will now be properly cleared.
- Double Message - Messages were being appended to the conversation list even if they were already displayed, this should no longer happen.
- Performance - A few small performance increases that should cut down on memory usage.
Some things we have planned for the near future:
- Contact Photo integration.
- Better contacts integration (initiate calls from chats, etc).
- Better unread message indicators on the contact list.
- Overall UI improvements, including conversation themes.
If you would like to stay up to date, follow @gvxmpp on Twitter, or feel free to post bugs/suggestions to this thread.
As previously stated, GVXMPP is free and I intend to keep it that way.

LED Blinker Blue Light Problem S6 (Edge)

Hello i am the dev of LED Blinker.
After the Samsung Update 5.1.1 the LED is not working as expected at Samsung S6 (Edge) Phones. It flashes only blue and not green as setup in LED Blinker.
Maybe some rom expert could help me to get it fixed again, i would give the full version for free if someone points me to the right direction and i could fix the problem.
(All other led apps have the same problem !)
Btw: I have the Samsung S6 Edge here with Firmware 5.1.1, the previous firmware version was working fine.
Thanks for your support and help!

Ok just tested it and it works when it is a test only, but when I tried to setset to it as a permanent setting and did a missed call it reverts to blue. So I tested adding user defined app with the plus add and I found 3 system app's called phone. I added all three and changed them each to a different colour. And bingo that worked. One of my user defined apps of phone changs the defualt blue to the users own choice and it sticks. As all 3 are called phone you'll have to use trail and error to find the right one. But that is the work around for now. Give it a go and tell me if it works. If so you should be able to work out what system app blinker should take intent from for missed calls.
Ok now a new issue, it seems randomly the led notifications wont clear and I have to clear blinkers cache to stop the led. All colours all apps
yeah sorry i am looking into this issues. but its a firmware problem and hard to fix.

New version is online which fixes blue light problem correctly for samsung 5.1.1 (s6, s6 edge).
but this app still do not work correct. If I got sms (or e-mail and etc) LED start blink (color correct), then I unlock phone, go to SMS, read it, delete....... but in notification drawer always show what I still got SMS (email or etc). I don't why, but system do not clean automatically notification drawer. If I disable LED Blinker notification drawer works correct.
yes that is correct. i cant fix that better. its because of the workaround. samsung handles led color control not android standard way.

SmarterBit
Hi everyone! I have recently released an Xposed Framework module called SmarterBit to allow you to enhance your Fitbit Charge and Charge HR fitness trackers.
Features
SMS/Text Notifications
Custom SMS/Text notification format
Notifications only if the device screen is off
Hide Caller ID for phone calls
and many more to come!
Features I am currently working on adding are quiet hours (either "intelligent" based on your Fitbit detecting sleep or a user-set range), Tasker implementation, smart alarms, and adding more integration with other messaging services (WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Hangouts, etc.)
Link
The app is currently on sale through the Google Play Store for $1.50 and can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mikerinehart.smarterbit
I am open to any and all suggestions for feature additions from the community
I just installed the app and I'm testing it out. I see messages typically get cut off. Is this just a screen timeout limit? I sent you a PM too.

Unfortunately yes - the screen timeout limit is a firmware limitation.
How about MMS notifications? I understand you can't translate pictures into text, but sometimes there is text accompanying the picture. You could add the option to customize like SMS so that you could at least see who the MMS is from (ex: MMS received from %sender%).

Heh, I was actually thinking about this the other day. I'll see what I can do
Did today's Fitbit app update break your app? SMS is no longer working for me. I see they implemented new Notification settings in the app update today.
I just bought the app and coincidentally Fitbit app has updated as well, so I couldn't get SMS notifications working after setting everything up. Calls got displayed on my Charge HR as they would with Fitbit's own Caller ID.. Thought of refunding the app but then stumbled across the post above. I can Enable SmartBit in the Fitbit app, but SMS notifications don't show up on my wrist.
Update:
After rolling back the Fitbit app to 2.10 (I don't care for GPS routes in 2.11 as I don't own a Surge) and deleting app data for SmartBit I can tell for sure that neither of notifications worked with 2.11. The vibration pattern SmartBit uses for CallerID is different to the default one-time kick from Fitbit's Notification. Also, when SmartBit actually overrides the default notification engine there's no indication of 'Notifications are running' in the status bar. What seems to have changed in 2.11 is the fact that they now allow you to select from multiple notification sources - Dialer, Skype .. whatever have you. SmartBit must not be set up to deal with these, despite the fact that it overrides the default 'Enabled Notifications' with 'Enable SmartBit' in Fitbit's application.
On a related note, I previously had a Huawei phone (H30-U10), where SMS were being routed as calls by default (I guess for their own Talk Band device), so my CHR was reading them as a classic pager would without any human intervention. Switching to a Sammy phone has lost me this feature so I was forced to look for a workaround.
Yes - the latest Fitbit update breaks SmarterBit. Please rollback to the previous version (2.10 I believe) if you would like SmarterBit functionality... At least until I can reverse engineer their new changes and push an update. I've recently started a new full-time job so I don't have as much time as I used to, but I'll try my best to get it updated for everyone

ROM - AOSP for Sailfish (with minor customizations)

MODERATOR NOTICE:
This thread does not meet the requirements laid out in the sticky titled "Device Forum Rules (Please Read before posting)." All ROMs posted in the Development section must contain a link to the developers sources.
THREAD CLOSED
Here's a slightly modified version of AOSP for the first generation Pixel (Sailfish).
This is not a ROM that is going to blow you away with all the bells and whistles you can think of. This is my personalized version of AOSP. I've added just a few tweaks and features that I find useful. After spending a little while customizing it, and then using it for a few days, it's at a point where things seem to be working well. I'm uploading it in case anyone else wants to use it.
Features
Since I made this ROM for my own use, all of the features below are enabled by default. You won't find anything in Settings to enable or disable them.
Pixel-specific features such as Google Lens and unlimited photo storage working.
Minimum brightness set to 1 (Pixel default is 4).
Tethering enabled (net.tethering.noprovisioning=true in default.prop).
Increased media volume steps (ro.config.media_vol_steps=30 in default.prop).
Plug/Unplug does not turn screen on.
Long press back (3 seconds) to kill foreground app.
Long press power when screen is off for flashlight. Automatically turns off after 10 minutes.
Long press volume buttons when screen is off to skip tracks.
Enabled network activity indicators. This is not the activity monitor with the upload/download speed that takes up a lot of space in the status bar. These are the very tiny indicators contained in the same area of the WiFi & mobile signal status icons:

Google Apps
I've included some Google Apps from OpenGapps. I started with the smallest base package possible (pico), and then added to it. The apps I chose to include were mainly the ones that replace default AOSP apps.
Google Apps Included:

Notable Gapps not included:
Google Now Launcher & Pixel Launcher. I use Nova Launcher, so I didn't include these.
Google Play Music. I don't use this app, but since it's not included the stock AOSP Music app is included. I just disable this so I don't have to see it in the app drawer.
Google App (Search). I found that including this package gives you both the old-style Google Now and the new Google Assistant. By leaving this out, long press on the home button doesn't do anything by default. I then installed just Google Search through the Play Store without installing the separate Google Assistant app. With this configuration, a long press on home brings up Google Now like it did back in the KitKat days. None of that annoying assistant talking to me.
The AOSP search app is included in this ROM, since nothing overrides it. I also recommend you disable this.

MOD EDIT: DOWNLOAD LINK REMOVED
(Built from AOSP source version 8.1.0 r10. Security Patch Level of February 8, 2018.)
Install
Flash via TWRP, wipe cache/Dalvik, and reboot.
However, TWRP version 3.2.1 throws an error when installing OTA files (I'm not sure why). I successfully flash with TWRP 3.2.0, so that's what I recommend.
Feedback
Most of the tweaks I added were done by editing res values in overlays, or by manually adding features from the source of other ROMs. (Thanks to crDroid and CypherOS). My day job is as a DBA and I know my way around Linux pretty well, but I'm not a developer. Because of this, I'm unlikely to take requests for new features. Remember - I made this ROM for me.
That being said, I'm happy to hear any feedback, answer questions, or look into bug reports (but please show a logcat or at least tell me how to reproduce it).
Can you make a version without gapps included as well?
also Source?
