Disable Fast Charge - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Does anyone know how to disable fast charge on the S6. I have looked everywhere in the menus and can find nothing about it. I don't like how warm it gets when it's fast charging and since I only charge the phone at night and I can't monitor it, I want to be able to turn it off.
Thanks in advance

Dont think you can unless you root... on the other hand I think you're good stock samsung chargers will stop charging once your battery is full.

Use a charger other than a fast charge charger ☺
BOOM!! disabled.

Cause Silky got jokes

The Note 4 has a menu option to disable fast charging, so why wouldn't they include that on the S6?

It wont decrease battery life.
The only way the battery could be hindered via charging is if you do it for extended periods of time.
For example more than 10 hours isnt good.

Thanks for clearing that. So we can charge our phone whenever we want to but be careful not to charge for too long at a stretch. Is it correct?
Yes

Yeah. I've read up on this stuff. More than 10 hours is called Overcharging. It's unhealthy for the battery and for the phone itself
The normal charge is just plugging it at any time and plug it out at any time.
And then there is healthy charge. You need to do this once a month or two.
Let the battery fall below 20-15 percent and then charge it up all the way to 100.
Also keeping it plugged in at 100% isn't recommended because we don't have smart charge (which basicly cuts of the power from the charger to the motherboard at 100% to prevent wear and tear like in some new high end devices)
Hope you find this interesting :3
Thank you. I will do some research on this myself too..
Maybe add it to the get started guide? ;3
so charge for a short time doesn't decrease the battery?
ex: charge from 30% to 50% is not wrong?

If you sleep less than 10 hours than its good. I do that when I go to school.
More than 10 is not healthy.
this becomes a problem esp if u use usb tethering
Modern firmware stops charging the phone when it's full, drains it a bit, and then will not send any juice to the battery anymore- it's pretty much impossible to overcharge unless you've corrupted or hacked out that bit of the firmware or you're overamping to begin with- or the phone and its firmware are poorly designed or executed.
This is also why your phone drops from 100 to 95% so fast when you start using it- it wasn't at 100% when it stopped charging; the firmware lies to you so you don't get mad and try to overcharge and destroy your battery or call customer service because it won't go above ~98%
Well then, I've had this phone for over a year and always charge it over the night (way over 10hours :I)

Wireless charging back ? Support fast charge ?

Does the Qi wireless charging back cover support fast charging?
Dude create ONE thread and put all your questions their...,seriously though I see like 5 threads created by you cluddring up the forums

Obviously you can ask all the questions you want. It's an open community dude do as you must
I would probably say no. From my understanding, fast charging is there because the charger packaged with the phone supports a much higher output and the phone can take advantage of it. The only way to get that same speed through a wireless charger would be to find one that matches the output of the stock wall charger.

No. Many are only 1 amp output. It's already warm to the touch with 1amp, if it was to suck down 2+ amps it would probably blow up!!! ...Just kidding.
I think the fast charger is 2 amps
The fast charging is so amazing, it would be hard to go back to slower charging...with or without wires. [emoji6]
fast charging is 9v when below 50%. As far as i know all Qi chargers are 5v.
I doubt it supports fast charging or that you can find one that does.

I like to mess with my phone in my bed so it's not easy plugging a charger in when the room is dark. lol Fast charging is nice and I might still use it from time to time. I just hate wires.

Mine only fast charges when the screen is off OR powered off completely. Both have easy ways of checking whether it's working. The ticker will appear when plugged in when it's on (the one you've seen a million times) but when the phone is powered off under the battery icon is a lightning bolt icon. That only shows up when it is fast charging. Just tried it to confirm. If it's slow then you could try another micro USB cable. Could be worn out or try a different outlet. There are several USB power testers you could try as well. Good luck!

Hey, no problem! I have been ordering a few chargers for my gf to enable fast charging on her lg g4 since the manufacturer didn't ship with one. Only one of my fast chargers worked on hers. Had to test with all the charging apps etc. so I'm up on all the fast charging knowledge lol! Just a FYI, aukey brand chargers seem to work on all various devices with quick charger tech. I got a wall & car charger for 20 bucks via slickdeals in case you need any extras. Amazon with their code. You do have to order them separately to get 10 off though. Well hope it all works out!

Adaptive fast charging issues

I realize that there are multiple threads on this but my problem is kinda unique. When the phone is powered on fast charging doesn't work, I turn the device off and fast charging is working while powered off. Sometimes it's the other way around fast charging isn't working while powered off and when turned on it is working. I don't think its the usb cable because I have tried 2 different cables. Maybe its the power plug? Gonna try my cousins see if it works when I see him. Till than any other ideas on why this might be happening?
How do you know it's fast charging when not on?
My oem charger went bad after a year and did the same as you description in the op. My bet is you need a new one

Suggest External Powerbank for LG G4

Hello,
I was having MI Slim Powerbank 5000mah, but it was not performing well with my LG G4 device, kindly suggest me some best compatible powerbank that can easily work with my LG G4(H818P) including fast charge maybe.
regards :good:
I have THIS and it works great
The Xiaomi powerbanks are known to be cheap and very high quality. There's no real reason to buy anything else.

intenso.de power bank 5000 mah fast charger suported
I have the 16000mAh Xiaomi Mi Bank which supports my G4 (with fast charge)
A friend of mine has an EasyAcc powerbank with 12000mAh which also works very well with my G4 and his iPhone (although it couldn't charge my iPod classic)
I have THIS ONE - not cheap, but if you want the King Daddy! - I don't scrimp when it comes to battery power when camping or at the beach!

You do know charging it fast isn't good. Regardless of these so called Quick Charge Tech Charing batteries at a fast rate isn't good. They need to charge at a slow rate.

How do you know this? I'm sure they don't need to charge slowly. Plus charging slowly when you're out and about and your phone is about to die isn't really productive

yes if out and about quick charge is fine but at home slow charging is the right thing to do. For example, I charged my original battery with my battery charger and with my USB Charge. Now with my battery charger I got 5hours of SOT time (that's with the screen on the entire time) and with the USB I got 3. So yeah what now! My test proves that slow charging is better

I doubt it makes that much of a difference. Since quick charging usually only helps the most from 0-60%. Your one test is proves nothing so ha
