AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

My changes-
May 06 - Initial release (on here at least), kernel sources updated to 3.4.90, kernel is built with Linaro 4.9.3 toolchains (I like Linaro better than SaberMod), Wheatley and Intelliactive CPU governors enabled, BFQ SIO FIOPS ZEN VR I/O schedulers enabled, and Frandom enabled.
May 09 - TCP congestion options 'HYBLA' 'ILLINOIS' 'VEGAS' 'VENO' 'WESTWOOD' 'YEAH', VENO is set by default, added screenshots to the main thread.
May 11 - Kernel sources now up to 3.4.100, added graphite to the kernel, changed -O optimizations from O2 to O3, and kernel now underclocked down to 192 MHz.
May 16 - Enable Intelliplug not quite sure what version it is but its in and working and thats the important thing.

My new project since Beanstalk fell through. I am trying to get this an official build. Seeing is how Falcon and Titan both run official shouldnt be too much for us to be official as well.
This does have a Slim based kernel...with some slight tweaks. Frandom is enabled, sources updated to 3.4.90, Wheatley and Intelliactive governors, BFQ SIO FIOPS ZEN and VR I/O schedulers are in it to.
I run a build about everyday with this one (they update sources all the time). Will be on top of this as much as I can. Please let me know of any issues as they arise...THANKS.

Hi, thanks for the ROM! & good luck to become official
just some few question:
- you tested the ROM a bit? (the common features, as you state on buglist "none of yet")
- how's the look? i assume it looks same as cm?
- link not work 404 error x(
thanks again!

I've been waiting for this for quite some time. My thanks to you good friend

I have been running this for a solid week (base ROM base kernel). I won't upload anything without running it for at least a day so I know that day-to-day operations are solid.
Looks like CM (Trebuchet is the default launcher) I use Nova launcher. So all ROMs "look" the same to me. It has CM themes built in by default as well. And a kernel auditor (which is awesome) built in as well.
Fixed the link.

Reboot into fastboot:
Code:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
It was suggested way back on my Beanstalk ROM and have had success with this (thanks to mrps2 for this)

What a are the diff's between this and cm12.1? I'm thinking about experimenting any other builds, but can't right now cause away from any computer to download it. Just querying anyway

beeeto had put a lot of time into his kernel to make it run smooth and get better battery life out our devices (thats the short version). I have done similar things for this kernel but nothing to the extent that he has.

Testing it now, it seems pretty nice! Not even an issue so far, restored apps with TB with no Play Store crashes (I am using Slim GApps, zero version). Kernel is not very customizable (and this is my only complaint), still cannot decide if keeping it or flashing Spirit Kernel again.

Spirit Kernel boots up but no WiFi so I'll suggest don't install that. The ROM is pretty solid and is stable for me. If you need a better kernel you have to wait as Obsolete will probably add more customizations and make AICP official for us!

Your link is to the Galaxy Note 2. Having said that, very nice rom indeed. Probably worth mentioning whether or not the rom has the SDS and Exynos fixes built in. Thanks.
The big question: does this rom has the SDS (Sudden death Syndrome) fix implemented?
fixed the links.
this has the latest device tree, so it's going to have whatever fixes and issues are current with device trees in other AOSP roms like CM.

Rom has nothind to do with the SDS fix as we currently know. You must install a kernel with the fix and a recovery with the fix.
Is there a nfc fix for this Rom ?

The Rom comes with a Kernel, so it is valid question to ask. On the subject of Kernels, is the included Kernel optimised in anyway or is it simply the Kernel from CM?

yeah the rom comes with a built in kernel. if it doesnt come with it, i wouldnt have asked the question. so let us knw if the fix is implemented in the kernel which this rom has.

Lol absolutely incorrect. In fact linaro has a whole line of boarss they optimize named 'origenboard' that use the EXACT same smdk4412 chip used in ur i9300...meaning if anything the linaro optimizations will be felt to a GREATER extent on an exy phone than say...a qcom one...in theory.

Right... I was considering he whole exynos world, but only exynos 4210 is compatible, meaning that the i9100 is out. tought that since the i9100 is incompatible the i9300 is too.
Is there any way to disable the hardware-buttons (menu, home, back) if I only want to use the softscreen ones?

F.A.Q (Freaking Annoying Questions)
What is the difference between these builds and the official builds?
Short version: It is unofficial nightly builds whereas official one is stable builds.
Long version: It is built using the same source (github) like the official one but with these following additional changes:
Compiled using SaberMod 4.9 & 4.7 toolchain combo.
Contains some cherry-pick commits. See OP and changelog for more details.
Faster? Smoother? Find it yourself.
What is Toolchain?
In software, a toolchain is the set of programming tools that are used to create a product (typically another computer program or system of programs). The tools may be used in a chain, so that the output of each tool becomes the input for the next, but the term is used widely to refer to any set of linked development tools.
A simple software development toolchain consists of a compiler and linker to transform the source code into an executable program, libraries to provide interfaces to the operating system, and a debugger. A complex product such as a video game needs tools for preparing sound effects, music, textures, 3-dimensional models, and animations, and further tools for combining these resources into the finished product.

What is SaberMod?
The term "SaberMod" is coming from:
SaberMod is a AOSP based ROM with some extra features added in and mostly from CyanogenMod. SaberMod started out pure AOSP when android 4.2.1 launched. Originally it was pure AOSP with a few extra features I ported over from CyanogeMod and linaro optimizations. Then I rebased everything off of rasbeanjelly because I liked many features found in rasbean. Since then I've modified a lot of the code so not much of it is rasbeanjelly based anymore. But you will still find some commonly used features found in rasbeanjelly. SaberMod is not a rasbeanjelly or CM clone, or KANG. Custom kernels are included for certain devices when available. These are personal builds we make for ourselves and originally became very popular in the nexus 7 forums. Features are very rarely added, and are built to SaberMod's team members liking. Currently there are two members of SaberMod working on this project. Myself and @jarjar124 . Please understand our time is limited and we are only two people who have lives, and do not have 25-50 members like CyanogenMod to add things. And our goal is not to add a bunch of features that bloat the system of the ROM.

AOKP-p4-UNOFFICIAL-SaberMod-4.9-20130804.zip
Changes:
* Now compile the rom using -O3 GCC optimization flags. Rom feels smoother and respons better.
* Follow CM to re-enable dalvik performance optimizations.
* Use the ability to hide GC freed lines in logcat -> less logging.
* See the rest in changelog.
Note: The rom size is a little bigger than previous build. It is normal and caused by the -O3 compiler flags.
flashed it and so far it's really good.
Thanks for the good work.

What is AICP?
AICP is known by someone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since than evolved as a mature rom with the BEST community you can find!!!
Rom has always been AOKP based until Lollipop.
Unfortunately AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year so we are now CM based when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
Latest Stable Release
Download link: http://goo.gl/mIgmYG
Actual version: AICP V8
What's New:
Complete change log by the download link
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder.
IceColdJelly AICP G+ community
What's Broken:
It's a Nexus
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
Gapps - they are needed for OTA to work
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
Most important thing is to check donation section in the first post that I changed

Thanx for the rom
Been running the nightlies for almost 2 months now on the mako, great to see the release!
To those of you who haven't tried it yet... give it a go. I read plenty of other ROM threads where there are all sorts of issues. Maybe I've just been lucky but this is one stable ROM
OTA delivery of AICP but wrong device ownership
The new ROM showed up on my Nexus 4 so I installed it. The ROM mostly worked well but it seems to have a fatal flaw in my case. It chose a university account for ownership instead of my gmail account and the university cannot access the play store. There doesn't seem to be any relatively easy way to change device ownership so it is back to 4.4.4 for now.
Does anyone have suggestions on this? Thanks in advance for any help.
Yes! IceColdSandwich was best rom ever for Desire HD! I can't wait to get home and flash this masterpiece! If it is half as good as Desire HD rom was, this will be my new daily driver!
Thanks a lot LorD!
Hvala!

When you say ownership... in the initial setup you get to manually link the phone to a Google account, can you not reflash and link your phone to the account you want?
Or just go to Settings/accounts and remove your university one?
Definitely been waiting for the official thread to be opened for far too long @LorD ClockaN!
I installed this ROM half an hour after I saw the thread had been opened and I have to say that it's absolutely fantastic, running it with Unleashed 101u and it's running smooth as butter!
Thanks for the hard work and dedication you give to our brilliant little phones

Stock kernel is excellent, though I've been using nash's kernel (v21, CM) for the last couple of weeks. Very stable, as well as all the CPU related stuff you can use Synapse to load gamma presets.
Other ones you can try are Matr1x, hellscore, semaphore, in that order.

ARM? ARM64? x86
Also if possible a link to explain the different between pico, nano, micro, etc.
I've got a feeling aroma is the best where you can choose which one you want. Only I'm afraid I will un-choose something necessary.
Platform: ARM
and Android: 5.1
Variation leave everybody itself.
I myself pico.

Downloaded and am installing this now after issues with CM 12.1 and LTE. I will report back with any issues.

I am just too stupid to get it running or is this rom incompatible with the boeffla kernel? I tested the cm12.1 version and the stock one but they don't work.
someone got a good alternative kernel?

I tried too and asked a similar question in the original thread. However, nobody reported success with a custom kernel. To be fair though, the build is working really, really well and I, for one, am just celebrating having a working Slim for the S5.
UPDATE: The Ktoonze AOSP kernel works
I used this rom all weekend with 0 issues. Everything worked as it should. Battery life was outstanding. The only hiccup I encountered was that I was unable to remove programs (browser, messenger, live wallpapers) via titanium. It says they are removed, but the icons are still there, the programs still launch, and when i go back into titanium the programs are there. Not a big deal just found it odd. Huge thumbs up!

This Rom is amazing! Battery life and the smoothness! However I got bootloop when I flashed boeffla kernel CM12.1. Is it the ROM or the kernel have issues? I don't want to try KT because i'ts very old build.

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ

See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
