Funky charging issue - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

This isn't really a question, so much as just something that happened to me over the weekend. Take it for what it's worth I guess.
When I purchased my Edge, I also picked up a Verizon branded wireless charger, and Fast Car Charger, with some other stuff. The car charger didn't look exactly "new" when I opened it up, and sure enough only worked for about a week. Since I'm a half hour in the wrong directions to a corporate store, I just reverted back to my old normal car charger in the meantime. Everything else worked as expected, though the phone would get a little warmer if I was tethering and on the wireless charger. But nothing I would call unexpected.
Saturday, I managed to go past a corp store, and went in and had the charger exchanged. This one was definitely new, and a coiled one instead of a straight wire. Whatever, I prefer that anyway. Plugged it in, red light, good. Got home, and was on skype and saw my battery getting down to the 30%ish area, so I reached for my trusty Samsung charger and plugged it in. And whereas the Fast Charging would show up in the dropdown, this time it didn't. Just Charging, and 4 hours to full. Um... weird. I cranked the brightness down and turned on powersaving, and it still was dropping very steadily, which never happened before. I tried another cable, same result. "Normal" charging, but not able to keep up if the phone was actually in use. Tried another wall adapter, with combinations of either cable, same. Wireless WOULD keep up, barely, and the phone would get ridiculously hot after a few minutes. Plugged that new car charger in, red light charging, no Fast Charge though.
Tried a soft reboot, tried turning it off and let it charge all the way, nothing. So when I resigned myself to needing to try a factory reset on it, I plugged it into the computer to try to save off pictures. No go, computer won't recognize the phone, in any of the half dozen USB ports, and no matter what cable. The phone doesn't recognize a connection there either for transfer, no notification, just a trickle charge.
Ultimately, called into tech support, 56 minutes of basically rehashing everything I had done to ensure that I didn't miss any steps. I understand the need to go through the checklist but man, at the end of the list, don't try fishing online for other "options". I could tell, too, because they were reading word for word the same sites I had just spent an hour looking through. "Let's see... phone will charge faster with the phone powered off"... Really, Sherlock? Doesn't change the fact that it's not behaving normally. So they ordered up for a replacement device, which I'm awaiting confirmation of. And I have a feeling my lunch break will be calling back to verify, because this was at 8 O'clock last night, and here it is 2:30 in the afternoon and I have yet to get any information on the replacement. (EDIT: Sure enough 3 minutes after hitting post, I get the txt with the tracking number. Go figure.)
I'll also be sending the car charger to a friend of mine who works the corp store I got the phone at, sometime, so he can plug it into THEIR phones and test it. If it is in fact a problem with that charger that fried something in mine, I'm not about to plug it into another one of mine first. I've been very lucky with phones over the years, but it never changes the frustration when it DOES happen.

Same
I had a similar issue with my S6 Edge this past weekend. I tredi charging it with 2 different fast chargers and three other cables. It said charging and I would walk out of the room and within minutes, it was no longer charging.
My wife's edge charged just fine.
I called VZ and we walked through all the typical stuff. Finally, we did a "wipe cache" option on the boot screen (Hold Power and Home button Reset)
It worked.
Rep said there must have been some corrupted file that was screwing me up. I had just downloaded a game about an hour earlier from the app store. I deleted that for good measure. (though in fairness, no idea if that is what caused it-- but seems logical given that is the only change made since last charge)

Hmm odd. Usually charging issues are hardware related and I don't believe I've heard of a software action fixing it. Good for you though.

Very strange, I had the very same issue last night and today. Since I ordered mine online it was a bigger hassle especially considering the gold platinum variant is out of stock everywhere. they're sending me a new one and then I'll return this one does this week.

Wow I thought I was the only one with this issue. I also picked up a Verizon branded fast charger and now I can't even charge my phone with it since it'd just slow charge and whereas with the original charger would tell me normal charging but give me a time estimate of 2 hours from 70 percent.

Yeah, the replacement phone works fine, including with the fast car charger. Now it's been just shy of one month since getting the replacement phone, and I had the original about a month, so guess we'll see if it lasts, but I'm pretty confident it was a rare phone issue instead, and keeping my fingers crossed that this one continues going fine.

Tilt wont turn on or charge. Shows red light when plugged

Noobie addicted to flashing. The headline says it all. After about 5 -6 different flashes (mostly different ROMs), it wont turn on. And instead of the yellow light that shows when charging, it's a red one, and pushing the power button does nothing. PLEASE HELP!!
Ditto.... And I haven't had time to do any flashing (plenty of time for streaking, tho). lol. When did yours have this problem? Mine just happened last night. I have babied this one like there is no tomorrow, so there's no reason for it to just quit.
FWIW, mine happened the first night I owned it when it was completely standard (ie no flashing at all). All I did was plug it in to the charger. When I woke up the next morning it was as you described. The store reps tried every combination of new charger, new battery and new SIM card with my phone but in the end they gave me a new phone.
This is bizarre - the same thing happening to all of us on the same night?!?
I woke up late this morning because my phone alarm didn't go off. Upon inspection, I realized that it hadn't charged and was completely dead even though it was plugged in all night.
Now plugging it into the wall or into a USB port results in a red light, no charging. I can't even turn it on although it's directly connected to power.
I've flashed several ROMs, but I've been running Dutty's 7B since it was released two weeks ago or so - I doubt that's a factor.
Help? Anyone?
Ummm, ok this is really fawkin freaky...add me to the list. Running dualtouch 1.1. Hung up the phone, went back to it an hour later...dead as a doornail. Wouldnt charge, got the red LED. Luckily I'd only owned it for 27 days, so I returned it to my local AT&T store and got a new one....too many people on the same night for this to be an isolated incident...same as other users, babied it like, well, an overpriced cellphone . Methinks there is something afoot!!!

Ok, this just happened to me just now...
MY 400$ PHONE JUST QUIT!!!!!
Not even 4 days old and it just gave out...
My standpoint (im a techie nerd) is this:
I charged my phone on my moms blackberry charger (~500mA)
The kaiser needs 1A to charge, so i only had half the power i was told...
When I had 89% I really had 44% and it drained really fast. So when I got home it was around 53% meaning I only had about 2% battery left (understand?) and when i pulled it out of my pocket...nothing, it wouldnt turn on SO I FREAKED OUT!!!!!!
I called HTC and they said to try a new battery, so I am going to go to the ATT store tomorrow and try another battery.
O and the reason is,
when Li-ion batterys get really low, they cease to produce the charge needed to keep the miniport active, thus resulting in any attempt to charge as futile.
Thats why you need to take out the battery and 'jump start' it by stripping a usb cable and putting the corresponding wires on their terminals (red + back -)
which will forcefully charge the battery and allow the miniport to become operable again. At which point you can resume using the HTC OEM charger (1A output at 5v) to resume the full charge. No other charger will suffice.
Im am going to try this now, you guys too and report back!
Dismissed!!!!
But my battery is fully charged...

Sorry to tell... but when this happening you need a repair. I got this problem 2 times with my Wizard. It's a hardware problem.
I did all the tricks you can mention but at the end it needed a repair.
I had some luck after the second time i got a compleet new MOB from T-Mobile SHOP Sales-Manager (Utrecht).
It sounds like the problem is with the Kaizer... so far everything overhere is OK.
I use only the org. loader and USB-port on my computer. Don't use a other loader than that !!!!
Just wanted to add my name to this list...
I've had my Tilt about 2 days. I haven't flashed it, but I have run several cabs on it...I didn't have it on charger when I went to bed, when I woke up, it was off. The only thing I did different than the rest of you was I tried to turn it on before I put it on the charger and it came back on saying that the battery was critically low or whatever, so then I stuck it on the charger and it seems to be ok now.
I could see it being a hardware issue, just seems weird that so many people had it on the same night, and under such different circumstances.
Also, first post...this site is great and you are all smarter than I ever hope to be
okay lets try this...remove batt....let phone sit for a few minutes. plug into power source without batt. unplg again....then plug again. while plugged into power source...put batt in...then remove...then in again. then hit the reset button. ofcorse this has nothing to do with anything. but if it was me i would try anything lol....lets see what happens.

lol also...does the phone come on with just the power cable plugged in and no batt? im curious to know about that. the latest version of kaiser tweak has a bunch of power settings. if the phone does come one...load up kaiser tweak and get in there to see if you can mess with the settings to fix this issue.

Well, speaking for those of us with the problem, the phone won't come on WITH the battery installed and the cable plugged in... I GUESS I could try it w/o the battery... would that even work normally?
I'm desperate.

key word desperate!! lol anything works when you're desperate...give it a try. if not then we'll move on to hard resetting and see where that leaves us.
This same thing happened to me a week ago. I hope you guys have your phones on contract from AT&T, because I took mine back to the store after 2 months of use (took great care of it, no drops etc.) and they put me in contact with customer support.
Great experience with support - they will ask you to take battery out, examine the battery contacts, ask if it was dropped or put in water, ask if you tried another battery and finally ask about hard reseting. Since the device doesn't even power on in this case, hard reset isn't an option.
The tech rep imediately told me it sounded like a hardware problem and shipped me a new phone overnight. They send you a reconditioned phone (it looks brand new) without a battery or stylus or back cover. You use your old battery, cover and stylus and send back your brick with the enclosed shipping label. As long as it gets back to them in 14 days and is deemed by them not to have been dropped or damaged, you don't get charged for the replacement device. Worked like a charm for me...but we'll see in a few months time if this same problem crops up again. Fingers crossed...
P.S. They will initially quote you $12 to upgrade to overnight shipping, but make sure to tell them that the phone is for business use and you need it quickly and they should upgrade the shipping for free. Worked for me!
By the way - I never flashed a different ROM on the original phone. (Stock AT&T ROM but soft reset before bloatware intallation) So don't think it has anything to do with flashing too many or the wrong ROM!
Red light.......
I called HTC and they said something got smoked inside.......I called warrenty dept. and they shipped me a replacement.......I think this is weird too.....oh well such as life.......
Did you have to ship the smoked one back?
Kind of a dumb question yes, but if no, poke around inside to see if you cant get it working again.
happened to me too. i'm pretty sure its a hardware issue.
This happened to me as well. I'm glad there is a thread to address the problem!
The one thing I noticed that is different about this new kaiser I have is that the battery is made by DynaPack, the battery in the kaiser that has this issues was a Samsung battery.
May this be the culprit?

Series of Unfortunate Events!!

Ok where do I begin. I love this phone but it's driving me nuts and that's supposed to be your girlfriend/wifes job. My phone seems to be charging EXTREMELY slow. I have batterystatus installed on my phone and when the phone is charging you see the progress bar moving. I've been charging my phone for about 2 1/2 hours now and I'm only at 57 percent, not even using it or having email come to my phone. I'm coming to the conclusion that my battery is shot and I will have to get a new one. Last night I was using my phone and it was charging by my bed. I wake up this morning and the orange LED is on (indicating that it's charging) I'm like wtf it should be green because I've slept for 8 HOURS! I unhook the phone and the battery is at 0 percent and the phone just shuts off on me. I charge the phone and managed to get it to 25 percent before leaving for work. Right now I have my phone plugged into the wall and its taking forever to charge. Should I reflash my ROM and RADIO again. I've been holding off on buying an extended battery because I'm waiting for Seido 3000 Mah Battery.
It's a cheaper option to reflash before spending the money on a new batt.

i know that some radios will eat up ur battery and cause rapid drainage, however i can't conclude that as no idea what rom/radio u r using. i doubt if flashing new rom is gona help. flash a different compatible radio and c if that helps; if not ur sol and probably need new battery.
peace,
sire
You could try putting the phone in flight mode to rule out a radio problem. Assuming no running programs in memory I would conclude a battery or charging circuit issue. I assume both mains charger and USB have been tried.
Ensure battery contacts are clean and the contacts on the phone.
You could try the wiggling the battery on and off the phone contacts method as used for the RLOD issue, just in case the charging circuit needs a kick start. The only note of caution here is that there are two cases (to my knowledge) of this trick possibly causing the rasdio to fail. So if I was trying this I would certainly have it in flight mode first - it is afterall a very crude method of forcing pulses of charge through the circuit.
Mike
I've been using Schaps 4.31 (only rom I have ever flashed, very satisfied with it)
Radio: 1.27.15.32
Problem just started 2 days ago. I tried plugging into another outlet thinking that maybe there was a problem with the outlet I was using and the same thing happens.
I feel like my kaiser is on life support, it hurts. I have to keep it plugged in to have it not die on me. I bought this from a friend 3 months ago for $250 but my Carrier AT&T and my EMPLOYER will not replace it because you can't have a transfer in warranty if you buy it from a friend. I think it's BS but w/e. If not I would have sent it in and got a refurbished one. Any other ideas
Hi gqstatus0685
I had an issue like this years ago. I had no friends who had the same phone so I took it into a store to test it.
You will need YOUR phone / battery AND charger and try it as follows:
1. THEIR charger with YOUR battery (if it works your charger may be broken but your battery is probably fine - if it doesnt work your battery or phone could be at fault)
2. THEIR charger with THEIR battery (this should work - if it doesnt your phone may be faulty)
3. YOUR charger with THEIR battery (again this should work, if not, your charger is probably at fault)
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers

First off, let me state that if you are having possible battery issues where you can't charge, I'd be VERY careful of trying to flash anything else. During the flashing process the phone will not charge. So if the battery goes dead during the minute or so it takes to do this, you will probably brick your device (or at best, not have a bootable phone that will not charge anymore since it can't boot).
This does sound like a hardware issue though. Either your charging circuit is shot, or your battery has died... Definetly try out zippyioa's advice to try to determine what isn't working.
BTW: Does it charge better or differently with USB cable vs the wall charger?
Also since you mention having BatteryStatus installed, turn on the indicator that shows the power. When its charging, what does it show for mA? When its not charging, what does this show?
All of a sudden my phone started to charge again. It charges very slow with wall power kind of like the way it's supposed to charge when connected to USB. Quoate me if I'm wrong but USB charge is slower than wall charge. I noticed that the Orange indicator will be lit noting that it's charging but then all of a sudden the indicator disappears and I have to unhook USB and re-plug it again. That's probably the reason why it's dead when I wake up in the morning. I don't touch the cable or move anything it just stops charging. I also noticed that when I get a missed call, SmS, MMS message it will stop charging unless I dismiss the messages. I haven't really confirmed this but I will. Thanks for the advice guys. You guys are the best.
I'm glad you are up and running again. These things do come and go occassionaly.
You are correct with your view on charging. A USB charge from my PC takes much longer than my wall charger.
Seems odd that your phone stops charging if you get an SMS.
It sounds like something is definitely wrong - a re-flash MAY help BUT as mfrazzz said above I would be very careful as a lack of power during a flash could cause MAJOR issues for you.
Have you managed to get the power back up to 100% yet?
If so, does it hold charge when you unplug it?
If not, what happens if you leave it on charge (I would put in flight mode as Mike suggested above to avoid call/SMS interuptions)
Cheers

If the light ghoes out after charging awhile, then you have most likely damaged the USB port with clumsy hands while trying to reset. Take a look at the USB Port. If it is even slightly curved or lower on the right side even by only a mm. then I'm right. This can cause a bad connection & occasionally can be fixed by gently bending at back into shape. HTC uses two different USB ports on the Kaiser, this is easier to fix on the open ended type, but because it is weaker, it's also easier to break, so be careful.
By default the USB port pin block is arrow straight.
My usb port was f**** up, I bent it back into place and it charges now.
I installed battery meter and when not plugged in I'm displaying:
6% I guess that's CPU usage
29.8 degrees/84 degree Fahrenheit have no idea what that is
87mA It fluctuates the lowest I've seen it was at 60 mA/Highest being 437mA
I'm going to add that my Kaiser has the HTC home plugin and battery meter. I only have one push email acct for my GMAIL. I don't get alot of emails on there. Mostly ones I send myself like files and such. No programs running in the background.
UPDATE**
Ok my phone has been charging all night. I wake up this morning and the charging indicator is orange when it should be green. I unhook the phone and Boom phone turns off. My phone is completely dead. I've been charging my phone for a while now (4-5 hours) and my phone is stuck at 57% does not move up. I'm leaning toward a battery problem. I'm going to put my phone in flight mode to further confirm.

That doesn't sound too good!
Have you tried the tests I suggested above (using store charger/battery)?

I forgot to add and I'm sorry that about a month ago I had my wall charger in my pocket and it fell into the toilet. I still works maybe thats' what's causing the prob. It was working fine after I dried it off and let it sit.
LOL, I would bet a lot of money that is your problem, try a new AC adapter before you buy a new battery.
yeah I'll try to buy another one and see if that fixes my problem. I mean why would it happen now all of a sudden. By the way I just happened to walk by the toilet and it fell in. I had it in my hoody pocket. Don't keep things there they fall easily like my first Kaiser..RIP 2007-2007

Thats definitely not good! Even if it dried out fully the water could have partially damaged the internal circuits. It may have taken time for the charger to go completely.
As I have suggested several times, you need to try another charge/battery!
Do you have a car charger or a friend with the same phone?
Zippyioa
Yeah. I have a car charger I bought from Ebay. Was hesitant on trying since I heard they fry phones. Tomorrow morning I'll go to store and test out my battery and plug. Hopefully it works. Wish me luck

[Q] HTC One dead?

I don't know what happened with my HTC One (M7), but it's completely unresponsive now, and I'm hoping it's not dead.
It was working earlier today (about 3 hours ago), I know that 100% because I turned on/off airplane mode when going into/leaving the dentist this morning.
I drove around today for about 40 minutes or so, I'm fairly certain it was plugged into the car charger (that's what I do with my phone), but I might not have, unfortunately I wasn't paying attention. When I got back home, I went to turn it on and...nothing.
Plugging it into the wall with a known-good charger (works on other phones) gives no charging LED. Plugging it into the computer gives no plug-in noise in windows.
I've tried holding down all combinations of power, volume up, and volume down for 10s, 15s, 30s, 45s, 1m, 2m, 5m intervals. No response whatsoever.
I've also tried with different cables, different outlets, and even went so far as to bend the prong that the USB Micro connector interfaces with, no dice. I've tried USB3.0, USB2.0, and regular power outlets, to no avail. ADB reports no devices found (honestly I don't know what I expected). When someone calls me, it rings 2-3 times before going to voicemail on their end, but the phone sits impassive in my hand.
Is it dead? Is there something I'm missing? I'm really hoping I can salvage it, I love this phone. Unfortunately, I got it from Swappa so I have no warranty or anything, and honestly I really can't be without a phone since I'm waiting on a call back about an interview for a job. Can anyone give me any suggestions/links/things to try? I'm at the point where I'm about to attempt disassembly on my own, but I'd MUCH rather not have to go that route, since I'm more likely to break it than fix it.
Best case scenario! Out of juice. Leave it plugged in to walk for couple days.
Worst case! Look for a new phone

Thanks for the response.
I'm going to leave it plugged in overnight, though I believe it is wasted. I contacted HTC Support and they said it was still under warranty, so maybe I can get it replaced through them....Though probably not for free, as I had already rooted it back before they were S-Off, so as soon as it boots it says something like "Experimental bootloader for internal use only, do not distribute outside of HTC" or something like that....without it booting, no way to unroot it
Here's hoping it's completely fried and they don't see that part of it XD

Fast charging

Is there a set of rules that it follows before fast charging works? I'm not sure if it's that or my phone or charger is bad..
Seem like I can only get it working 30% of the time. I would have to unplug and plug in multiple times before the notification pops up saying fast charging.
I tried multi USB cables and pushed it all the way in the charger.
I haven't managed to look at kernel source yet (not yet released), but maybe charge type is not only dependant on charging source type, but current battery level. ie top off charging. Just guessing for the moment............
I have the same issue. The quick charging notification never pops up the first time. If I unplug the cable and plug it back in, then it's fine. I'm using the wall plug and cable provided by Samsung.

Don't know. I've only charged my phone 2x, but fast charging popped up both times.

Actually no, I bought the T-Mobile version. I doubt it matters but it's the 64gb model. It sucks that you exchanged yours and have the same issue.

I picked up the AT&T model yesterday. Plugged into my car charger, 2amp, works fine. Got home and plugged in before bed with samsung supplied charger, showed fast charging. Passed out and woke up to 40% battery this morning. Turns out it will connect fast charge (ONLY if i use the supplied brick AND cable), but cuts out after about 5 mins! If i use the 9v brick with a random cable, it will just say cable charging, but seems to be decently speedy and won't stop charging. Seeing how crawldit replaced his and has the same issue leads me to think Samsung really was hoping people would get the wireless pad. Hopefully its a minor software update/patch needed. Phone is a freakin winner on all other aspects. Battery life appears to be better than the note 4 even with a slightly lower mah.
Definitely a software issue IMHO, from the sound of it. Also, on my VZW 32gig I do not have this issue. Every time I plug it in (to the supplied charger) it fast-charged. Cant say if it gives the message every time though, but I know it fast-charges because its never on that charger more than 15-30 minutes and the charge jumps massively. But even on a normal charger it still charges fairly quickly.
Well... turns out my brick was bad, used the one from my Note 4 with the new note 5 cable and it works like a charm. I'd recommend checking out a new brick.
Glad you got it figured out. Mine works fine now as well. I don't know if everything was overly stiff from being brand new, but after a day or two the fast charge pops up the first time every time now.

Nexus 6 No Power No Charge, 3 days after using N Preview

My phones been dead for about a month, most hope was given up but heres my last ditch. I updated to android N preview. Used it like normal. The last day (before my phone ate ****) i was having problems charging it. It wasnt accepting the charge almost as if my "Quickcharge 2.0" had stopped. In fact it would discharge while connected to turbo charger. Anyways that day i went swimming, where i live its very hot i left it on the charger near the pool and it had gotten super hot. So i took it off and put it in a chair and it was on again super hot (hot enough that it burnt my hand when i touched the glass) and it was still on it hadnt shut off. Some people there put it in their cooler for me and that was that, although i noticed a burn mark on the actual usb port on the phone itself. Fast forward a few hours. I was skyping some chick got off skype. Turned my phone off in the hopes it would charge faster. ( it was at 13%) plugged it into the charger, Nothing. Tried to turn it on, Nothing. I finally got it to boot up ( i had to press the **** out of the power button) and the google logo came up. Then it turned off. Tried again to power it on. Same thing, google logo dead. Left it on the wall charger for an hour. tried to power it up, nothing. Used a samsung wireless charger on it for close to 3 hours. Tried to power it up. Still nothing. Power + Vol Down. Nope nada. Opened it up checked the wires everything was plugged in and secure. I didnt make it any further than the backplate because i stripped the screws. Since then its just sat on my shelf, but today i dropped it on my foot and i decieded to see if it would turn on, so i plugged it into my pc (and this is honestly the reason im writing this) and i wiggled the charger around and my pc actually "sensed" it. It said that "The usb device has malfunctioned" so idk what that means. Maybe its still there maybe not. Ik that if i can get my pc to recognize it again it will be difficult as that port on the phone is on its LAST leg.
Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the short story. Just want to make sure you know everything as it happened
Also when i plug it into the wall, or use the Qi charger on it the device heats up/gets warm. Again dont know if its anything but the more the better.
Could be anything really, possibly a bad battery, if the QI charger isn't helping. How old is the device, and when did the usb burn mark appear?
Okay so I am going to give my best guess here, that the battery in your phone has gone bad, and it was killed by your charger going bad with an electrical short circuit.
Here is my reasons for think that...
Currently your phone won't accept a charge at all, so that leads me to believe that the battery has gone bad.
As for my suspicion that your charger went bad, I have had two different quality brand chargers (HTC and Samsung) go bad on me over the last 3 years or so.
Both times the charger failures caused the same symptoms on my phone that you described...the phone getting extremely hot, and the battery discharging, while connected to the charger, instead of charging.
Luckily for me, in both cases, my phone batteries did not completely croak.
In one case the battery did bulge out the phone, but it was an older HTC M7 and it kept working.
In the other case, I noticed that hot phone and the discharging, and immediately unplugged the charger and tossed it in the trash.
So that is just my two-cents.

What advices do you have to avoid this kind of problem?
Okay guys. I would have to check the IMEI to give you hard facts for the dates. Which I can do im just at work. But last I looked it was manufactured in, March of 2014 or close to that. Ik for a fact that he model was an XT1103 it was completely factory unlocked however my bootloader was locked. Storage was encrypted. And it was the 32gb version. Yes! It could quite possibly be my battery.
Before all this started I was having trouble getting it to charge and I was using a Samsung mini USB with it. But the outlets at the pool I don't think are designed to charge phones. Anyways the burn mark on my USB port showed up the same day. I just didn't notice it (I think) until later that day,but after I got it my phone no longer charged. It would either discharge off the charger, or discharge slower on it.

Sorry for the delay in replying...RF got in the way.
Anyways...I really can't offer much 'technical advice'. I can, however, offer some practical advice.
1. Use brand name chargers or be careful if you do use an off-brand charger.
2. If you are charging your phone (either on a brand name charger or an off-brand charger), and you either feel it getting hot or you see it discharging (or both) immediately unplug your phone and throw away the charger.
3. If you do notice that the battery on your phone is bulging, either replace the battery or if it is a sealed device, replace the phone.
Honestly, that is the only advice I can give.
So guys ive decided i m gonna go ahead and try and replace my battery since its rather inexpensive, im gonna order the parts from ifixit. such as anew midframe and battery. It should be done hopefully by next week. Im still completely open to opinions. When its complete ill make a post.
