Requirements BEFORE flashing:
-Recovery Installed
Find one here by NUT: http://nut.xperia-files.com
-Already rooted on any of the stock sony lollipop firmwares released so far
(will work best on a fresh install - with no other sound mods)
-A pair of working ears / good hearing
-A finger to tap the screen with

Instructions:
1. Ensure you are on Lollipop 5.1.1 firmware (and rooted)
2. Make a CWM BACKUP
3. Flash the .zip in recovery - v6 first, then v6.1 for best results
4. Wipe cache & dalvik/ART cache
5. Reboot
6. Enjoy!

i am coming from another sound mod and after flashing your mod it seems like there was no difference for me at all. Even changing the equalizer doesn't do a thing to the audio.
Any idea on how to make your mod work?

This will not be compatible with any other sound mods.. if you had any installed before flashing this then I would not expect it to work..
You are best off flashing this on a clean stock install.

Oh well, Can't blaim the mod since it's a mod for the STOCK lolipop ROM.

Thanks for this mod.
I have installed it this afternoon and all seems to work great, no errors have occurred.
Call sound is a lot better
Speaker volume is louder and fuller.
The headphones sound "more filtered" and very different than before, I'm playing around with equaliser settings but I find it hard to get a clear and balanced sound.
Could you please explain more about the boomsound integration ?
I don't see any settings or other trace of what it does?
Did not get any errors yet.
But i am not really pleased with the audio quality. Before I used the eq by shuffle player (which sounds really natural and balanced). Now I cannot use it anymore because there's a lot of crisps. Can't add really bass to it.
With the Sony-eq it sounds a bit better bit still really crispy.

just reflash ROM you use without wipes.
does anyone know which values from the mixer_paths.xml deals with the external volume speakers (when playing music, ringtone, speaker phone, etc) because I want to lower those values manually. the reason is that I have one defective speaker and it makes strange noises when I take the volume over ~60%ish.
I already tried to lower some values, but apparently I can't see any differences.

Try the attached zip below, this will set the volumes to default for you
@pricey2009 I don't want to set them to defaults, I want to lower those values even more
Update to v3
Now updated to V3 + Boom Mode v2
Added some new bits including extra in-call clarity
Have cleaned up the mod overall and I have tried to eliminate any problems with storage showing low, skippy videos etc that people were having

Fix for new themes:
If you had problem with new themes just go to system/app and install the theme manually like a normal apps.

Stona,there are many bugs????
For now HTC music app is working with WMA files but it can still play mp3 files with htc music app but then it sents it out via Bluetooth headset no matter if there is one or not.

Becaus we did not find bugs, the only bug that I had found is the rear speaker bug like 3M edition and HTC music can play wma but mp3 files are only working with bt headset. And it can't open streaming such as m3u or pls. The weather sound is fixed and also is mmi codes and language glitch.
The release is ment for us to flash it and report back if we find any bugs. I am the only one that has tested it and it is easier with more people to test if to find bugs.

In the Sense 4.0 v2.4 i don't have the rear speaker bug and the htc music works fine....i tell with Stona some weeks ago,and now i'm upload my clockwork backup for see why i don't have any bugs...
I must try this version for see if i have the same lucky....
put a link i pm for your backup and i will take a look at it. if you had followed the install guide in 2.4 the bug will appear, what did you do to fix it ? and the rear speaker bug is if you are calling somebody and recive a sms in same time the speaker on the phone disables and you will need to actiave high speaker and disable before it got back on
I didn't nothing, i install v2.4 and all work fine, only little language glitched....

Guys come down. If i will be sure the rom is safe to install i will upload it. I don't want broke your phones. For now we have first safe version to see what news will be build in. Its very unstable, slow and many things can be not worked.

This rom is awesome! Stona you are the king.
For HBOOT: 1.28,
- USSD-MMI codes are working.
- Wifi is working.
- Handsfree speaker is working.
- Sd card mount is ok.
- Speaker stops working when you receive SMS during a call.

1- First,This mod are had the different sound system between the PureXAudio on XZ development,So please look down for the different between these 2 audio mod
PureXAudio: Based on SONY's audio system, provided stable, less bug then the BlasterZ, and this mod is focused and based on SONY devices.
BlasterZ: Based on HTC's audio system, provided more sound enrichment then the PXA,but with more bug contained, this mod is focused and based on HTC devices
2- PLEASE DO NOT EXCLUDE OR INCLUDE ANY OF MY MOD WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!AND I AM NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO YOUR BREAKED PHONE OR HEADSET!!
3- This mod works fully on unlocked bootloader and locked bootloader , of course a custom recovery is needed, and a deodexed rom too
4- The speaker's audio quality becomes worse as you increase volume, this is because our speaker cannot output good audio quality at loud volumes.it is impossible to keep audio quality and loud volume because of our hardware.
The htc one(M8) has a dedicated amp inside it's chipset which amplifies audio better with more sound, that is why new htc phones can have very loud speaker volume with good speaker audio quality.(from zeroinfinity)

~sonicmaster was a sound technology from Asus padphone,transformer etc. It has a really good bass,clarity and others. But it can't works fully on our devices because of hardware different

No difference
Walkman Ultra is transparented Walkman but some people don't like it

Installed and when I go to settings in walkman it says "Unfortunately Music FX has stopped" and doesnt work.
I had pureaudio v22 installed before and went to this and pressed clear data,cache and force stop before installing.
Anyone know what's up?

Its mean: nothing about display is changed in setting, only change about quality of SOUND, and user have to enjoy it by ear???

1- This mod are the audio mod which ported from XZ to XTX MSM 8260T chipset.

Yes there is an improvement on sound quality, but at the expence of ram and battery drain. mine dropped 25% in half an hour.

Basically this mod wont effect too much battery usage, try reflash your rom without wiping data then reflash this mod.

I got 4 steps to port and dev a mod to a device
1)porting process,gathering the mod to include and write the script
2)when complete the test zip, I gotta upload it to the facebook to let my tester to test it (the most time uses
3)when complete the test,I have to rewrite updater-script and test it again to ensure no updater-script error or else
4)I will use about 6 hours to create and edit the thread
this is the basic step that how I dev a mod,I will need 2 months to port to SP because it still have different chipset with XTX

Haha okay then, Btw i write you couple of times in xperia z thread and when i flash mod there is no bootloop only problem is that it doesn't flash everything so after that i flash everything manually once again and it work without problem (at least i think so),just a tip for you im trying be helpfull and will you Keep it updated with the last version of xperiaz all the time?

Hello, I installed yor port today on .205, deodexed with doomkernel v10(default sound option on the kernel). And both my primery and secondary mics dont work, service menu crashes after trying to test them, apart from that there is too much treble and in poweramp i can use musicFX(sound enchantment by sony) otherwise gj porting it, but the mic thig, please try to fix it asap Oh and there is no in call audio trough the headphones

Lol. Nopes, I am also still on 4.4.4 with Calkulins modified CM11s. I don't really see a need to go to Alpha and Beta stage lollipop roms. Will switch when stable releases start rolling.
I haven't tried this mod yet but one question though. Does it effect speaker output too? or its more targeted towards earphone/headphone listening experience?

Thanks for trying it out, if you want I can make a generic mod that will work on all 4.4.4 roms but the sound won't be as good. If you can upload your framework file for me I can get it working for you.

Yeah try it without v4a, if you upload your mixer_path.xml found in /system/etc, I will modify it so you will keep microphone fix + stereo mid

Updated sound mod - it will now check to see if you're using mahdi rom or not and flash files accordingly. Also the mod will now edit mixer_paths instead replacing it so your other mods (camera, speaker, mic, etc) will still work.

it's a big improvement from stock. but if you have viper4android with precise settings ( there is a guide somewhere ) , the improvement is not so big from that version. but having a mixer_path modified is better than having a EQ app! so i approve your work thanks!

If you flash the Dolby, you can't use the Sony sound features, right? I remember flashing a dolby mod before but when changing EQ settings and headphone type, it doesn't work anymore.

Same applies, here. At times i found myself having to clear the data on the Audio settings apps for the Dolby mod to kick in.
Other than that , this mod has excellent clarity at high volumes. :good:

Indeed it does! It'd be much, much better if you didn't have to keep clearing the data for Audio settings in order for Dolby to work though. :/

I can't flash this mod on my Z2 on Existenz Y 1.5.0. All the time when I boot into recovery (PhilZ and TWRP) and try to flash zip, recovery shows error flashing, aborted. I have locked bootloader. What am I doing wrong?

After owning various galaxy s Models waisting my time finding good Xperia walkman mods to flash
I decided it was time for a New experience called the z2. ..
After saving my hard earnd money an some research
There it was in my hand so i grabbed my headphones
Plugged it in pressed up the volume to the max and still i hear the b tch nagging
So the search for soundmods continued until today.......

Your download must be corrupted, download again and try.. Be sure to wipe caches before and after..

yes, bad download. Installed Dolby and turned off Sound Enhancement. Are all these mods enabled or do I have to enable them somewhere?
Latest OTA update seems to have made the headphone volume lower. Can anyone else confirm this?

FM radio volume is very loud . can u make the Music player volume as FM radio ??
