[Q] NFC app "unfortunately app has stopped" - Android Studio

Hi, Im really new to app development, im 14 years old and i made my first app only recently.
Im working with android studio on an app for reading and writing to NFC cards, ive been following a tutorial on the internet. The problem is that when i launch the app on my phone or on my genymotion emulator it simply says
"unfortunatly (app name) has stopped working". Im wondering if i have made a mistake with my code or if there is something else wrong.
I tried putting in my code into this section here but the website recognised an outside link. All of my code is on the attachment i have given.
It would be great if you could offer any help to get this done.
(I'm in the national finals of a tech competition and this app will compliment our tech. Any help would really boost my chances.)
Thank you so much

Bloo Facebook App

I just came across this wonderful app that provides a native facebook client for android.
Tha app has been out for just 2 days and already is receiving great support from its developer with constant updates as new features are implemented and bugs are ironed out.
Although its a paid app the developer has been kind enough to provide an alternative method of purchasing the app to those that don't have access to google's paid market through slideme.org.
The app costs $1.49 and I can say its well worth every penny. I have been using it since morning with no problems what so ever.
The developer its quite active and promises new features with future releases. For more details refer to his blog: http://fbandroid.wordpress.com/
I believe we should support such developers that put a lot of effort in providing android with such great apps.
Can't make comments in Chinese It sends them in garbage code. Refunded.
EDIT: It reads them fine, just can't REPLY.
i cant see it in the market yet.....can anyone provide a down load link for bloo?
I love how the OP wrote as if he wasn't the author of the app... which he is. At least be honest and say you're plugging your own app!
It looks good, and I'm definitely going to pick it up soon, so there's no need to be sneaky.
I purchased it yesterday, and I think its great. But is it only me, or does it load The Feed slow, even on wireless?
can someone pls give me a link from when i can get this bloo?
its not there in the market,im in india...

Non Android User asking question about Android

Hi all,
Bear with me while I explain my case.
I have a friend in Texas that has an Android phone and I'm in England, so, all the help I can gather I will email her and if would be better if the "tutorial" have pictures if you know what I mean as she is not at all a tech person, and she is older than me !
She likes her Android phone and she said it is a G2. I don't have a clue as to the Android version and asking her this is a waste of time; it is definitely not rooted; did I mention that she is not techy? The fact is that she says the text (font?) on the interface and everywhere else is too small for her and she cannot find a way to change the font. Is it a possibility with Android? Her phone provider says it is not or they don't know.
Any help appreciated.
Regards,
Me!

There is no such thing as the G2 in the states (There is in Europe, but it's actually the HTC Hero), so I'm assuming she is talking about the HTC Magic (or here it is called the MyTouch 3G). If this is her phone, she has 1.6 (If it's the Hero, she has 1.5).
As far as I remember, there is an app called "Spare Parts" in the Market which allows you to adjust the font size, but there were problems where it would return to default size at some time (Not sure if it was when you closed the app or rebooted the phone).
@JAguirre1231
Thanks for your input. You are probably right about the 3G model thing. I will mention "Spare Parts" to her and see how she gets on with it.
After posting I've decided to search the Android section here for themes but had the feeling that everything that is done here uses the premise that everyone roots their phones but that does not happen out there in the real world where not everybody is a geek or tech savvy.
I've found some very interesting stuff using Metamorph but rooting is not an option unfortunatelly and I don't have time to dig deep right now.
Cheers!

Rooting these days can be as simple as putting a file on your sdcard, booting up and installing an app.
Unfortunately, yes, if you want a full theme, you will have to root your phone. The best you can do without a rooted phone is install themes on an alternate launcher (which will slow down the phone since you will have two launchers running).

app promotion for germany

Hi guys,
who has already tried out some app promotion? I tried something with such a "Apps for free" stuff but it was to expensive and not sucessfull.
Now I found gratizzz.de who drives your downloads into volume and creates reviews of real users. Did anybody already tried gratizzz and have some experience with app promotion in Germany?
Thanks

Looking to follow-up with some existing ZeroTier users

Hey all. I've been on here on-off for the better part of the decade; mainly to try phone rooting. I started working for https://www.zerotier.com/ last week, and the company has a paid Android app on the marketplace. I've already had one person trying to reach out to me offering to do some code help; our dev team is working on some stuff to improve the app; and I saw one discussion of folks looking to install it via APK on Lineage. Any feedback on your experience is welcome, so I can have the others look at it. Thanks!

Question Best call recorder Mod on Pixel 7 ?

Hello
I've recently bought a Pixel 7, very glad to have it.
I'm planning to root it in order to have access to native call recording.
Which would be the better option ?
1- Skavalex with root with premium version
2- BCR mod with Magisk module,
3- Google dialer mod with Magisk module
Thanks for the feed back
They all work well, but in my opinion SKVALEX is the best
BCR is the correct way to go on this.
skavalex is closed source and from a nobody developer, therefore you don't know "what else" it might be doing, and there is nobody to hold to account if something terrible happens.
Gooble dialer mod is good (a) if you actually use gooble dialer, and (b) if you don't mind manually pressing a button to start recording.

Wow... Skavalex is actually a developer who has been updating his app for well over a decade and is very quick to respond with help when contacted. When I first started using his app back in the Froyo/GB android days his thread here on XDA was very active for his app. Paid the 9.99 for the app back in 2008 and even donated several times on top of it for all use I get out of it. I know I am not the only person here on this forum who uses his app and hate to see someone bad mouth a very good dev.
+1 for Skavalex

You can do whatever you like, but closed source software cannot be proven safe and therefore should not be trusted.

I guess everyone here who's not on linux on their PC's should be uninstalling Windows and MACOS based on your logic. @skvalex is a trusted developer of the XDA community and a member 8 years longer than you. Coming and flaming on a dedicated community dev for having closed source for an app with awesome premium features that aren't found in other apps, that actually listens to it's users for adding new features. He could've changed the premium app cost or even worse, started charging annually for updates as so many other apps have done. If you're worried about an app being open or closed source, why not just pay $30 a month and get Ooma Office which comes with call recordings. I did that recently as I don't have phones I can root currently.
Closed source apps that have a license to use, aren't bad. The reason you have a closed source app is so people can't just pirate your work.
I had Skvalex on my previous phones, I bought the license many years ago.
Tried to make it work on my P7 as well, but I couldn't. I gave it all the permissions and settings it wanted but still had no sound in the recordings.
Is it because I have no root on this phone? Or should it work without root as well?
Btw now I use the Cube ACR and it works great so far.
This past weekend I installed LineageOS 20 on my recent P7.
One of the reasons why I installed LineageOS was for the native recording of calls, something very important to me and that I missed from my Xiaomi phones with xiaomi.eu rom. However, do you know if there is a way that it can be set to record all calls BY DEFAULT? Currently you have to activate it in each call you make with the phone.

Hmm, yeah. Delete the ms/apple crap. Couldn't agree more.
As for "longer than me"... you have no idea who I am, where I've been, what I've done. Same as any other random handle you find on any web forum. Doesn't matter how long that handle has been in use, you don't know who they are, what they've done, who they work for.
@atillaahun yes, you'll have to root your phone - "thanks" to the google. Anyway, + for Skvalex's Call Recorder.
