Motorola Turbo charger or third party ones? - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if the Samsung adaptive fast charger or any good third party ones works well with the moto x 2104. I'm on a tight budget and so I can't go for the Motorola turbo charger.

As long as the charger supports Qualcomm's quick charge 2.0 spec, you are good to go. There is really no need to buy Moto's pricey turbo charger.

I got the anker one and it works great from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00QEX83LA/ref=pd_aw_sim_107_1?refRID=1AKFV8WJ43NSVNNVTSWG

Droid 3 and wireless charging....

I noticed in looking at the most recent Bionic pic's that there were prongs that indicated wireless charging capability....so of course I took the back of my D3 and I see prongs there too.....so I have to ask....does the D3 have the same capability?
yes, you can buy the charging pad and get the required back cover from Verizon.
Don't quote me on this but I believe it is also possible to use the moto inducting backplate with a Powermat or an energizer pad.

It definitely works. I have bother the wireless charging pad and the inductive battery cover from Verizon and it works. The only problem is that it adds a bit more thickness than even the extended battery cover.
This is why I have been holding off on buying one.. I have a powermat, but I don't feel like buying it online and having it not work, been waiting to check it out in store then be able to take it home and take it back if it doesn't, though like you said I also believe it is possible.. Looking forward to my local VZW store to get them in... They don't have crap accessory wise around me..

This is confirmed. I asked the Powermat twitter account if this would work and they said no.

2nd battery external charger other than a dock!!

so i am looking for a 2nd battery that i can charge externally meaning not on the phone but like a second charger source other than a dock help would be appreciative thanks..
I just read somewhere in a forum today that there is a way to charge a battery just by using a usb cable with one end cut off and the wires exposed. You would have to google it to find it (what the post said). Think that is one option along the lines of what you are looking for.
*EDIT: You said something "other than a dock" in the title, so what I posted above wasn't a dock!

You can buy a Motorola battery dock from Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-8950...1FIG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325124341&sr=8-2
I have one and love it! It comes with a standard battery, and it also charges the extended battery.

Look at the accesories section on vzw. I got one. It charges standard and extended batt

I bought my BIONIC from CostCo and they threw that in with my purchase (along with a lot of other stuff).
I have dual extended batteries (best $50 I ever spent) and I charge on in that dock while the other is in my phone.
Yeah I already have standard dock but it doesnt charge batteries

Get one from ebay. They are cheap but does the job. Buy 2 just incase one breaks. If you want to go expensive way, get the OEM which comes with spare battery for around $40-$50. I have both but on ebay one, pins need to be set every time you insert the battery which is kind of pain. Also OEM charges little faster. As I said, even the cheap ebay ones will do the job.

Haven't posted enough to be able to provide a link, but go to amazon and search for: Motorola Battery Only Charger for BF, HF, BW, and HW Series Batteries
Bought one today at Verizon and it works well. And came with a oem battery.
Took 4 hours to charge the extended battery I also bought at the same time.

Note 2 wireless charging

Does anyone have any information about a wireless charging option? I mean the s3 was supposed to have it but until now nothing and I fear for the note

Not yet aviable an im sure it will never arrive

Can you elaborate please? I mean the only reason I'm asking is for instance the S3 has been announced with it, so I guess the NoTe2 has the aptitude. plus as you can see on the picture there are two vacant connector pins which are quiet similar to the Nfc ones. It should be their purpose no?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
We know the S3 was announced with it, but it still isn't available in most of the world. Samsung is being very slow about it, and seeing how the S3 does not have a proper one yet, the Note 2 probably won't see one anytime this century.
I found this on eBay.

That's a Palm Pre Touchstone unit, which you can buy for about a fifth of that.
S3 thread on the subject of wireless charging. Did it to my S3, worked fine, just made the standard back bulge a bit with the induction unit was all.

You don't need to "own" paypal... Just sign up for an account. Anyone can do that.

Was that post above confirmation about wireless charging built into the note 2? Strongly considering one if it had the same charging posts as the s3

interesting, but will this be slower than charge with usb?

Yes the note2 has wireless charging.
You just need the unit.
Since the Note 2 uses a higher mA rate, will the currently available wireless chargers be effective? It worked on the GS3 due to a lower charging rate I assume. I saw posts where people stated they used 1A chargers from prior devices and it hardly charged their Note
2 at all.
Edit - I just realized a few minutes ago, you can use the 2A wall plug from your Note 2 right? Lol

I wish there was a way to order those Qi coils! I live in the UK and there is nowhere I can find it in Europe :=(

If the touchstone wireless charger charges at 1amp with its original palm charger, will it charge at 2amp if I connect the galaxy note ii charger to it?
Also wondering if I applied the palm coil to my note ii, will I be able to charge it wirelessly with the 2amp hp touchpad touchstone dock charger?
Mmmmm
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
The touchstone will charge the note 2 from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours. Most likely a different adapter connected to the touchstone won't make any significant difference

Nice strategy

Seems the wait is almost over
So does this confirm then that the panel on the back of the Note II is ONLY the NFC antenna not a combined NFC and induction charging panel, as some people are claiming?
I did wonder what the other two connectors were all about, now it seems clear THEY are where the induction coil will attach if you have the official kit.

Getting a replacement 3.0 charger, can't find one anywhere

So, as of recent, my charger has been obliterated. Noone, not my cell provider, nor lg can provide me with the proprietary 3.0 charger found in the g2 and g flex. Can anyone help me find one? I like a 2 hour charge time.

My understanding is not yet at least. I'd check the likes of Amazon if you want the power pack micro. I don't think they have a turbo charger with UK plug yet (unless one comes with the Nexus 6). Any Qualcom fast-charge charger should work the same.

A couple of weeks ago I asked Motorola Europe when the charger would be available, no idea, didn't know what it was.
Lmao how useful of them. Anyone have any alternative small battery packs preferably with a built in wire tjat would either go on your car keys or small enough to be in your pocket without much bulk?
