It does say that this is the method after we get root and unlock, but this thread is probably a bit premature.

I figured I better post this while I still have the G4. Been very tempted to get the ZenFone 2 after having the G4 a month now still locked up.

I only pull bootloaders out of the OTAs so if there is a new version available only as factory image I don't provide you a flashable zip. Also please note that only build numbers with a factory image are listed here (to see a full list in which version which bootloader was the current one have a look on the XDA wiki)

Flashing is at your own risk! I am not responsible for bricked phones.
In my opinion the flashable zip is as risky to flash as an OTA update as it uses the same commands.
Thanks to:

Which bootloader is this?

I too am wondering this exact question. I am currently on makoz10l. I'm tempted to switch however I don't know if I'll even benefit from it aside from it being a newer bootloader.

[ROM] MM 20i Stock & Debloated ROM's + Global MM 20e Stock Rom's

Here are some stock Marshmallow ROM's for T-Mobile H811 LG G4.
Thanks to Autoprime and xTEE for their respective KDZ's and Chainfire for his SuperSU root.
20i=T-Mobile USA
20e=Europe Global
Global rom is NOT sim unlocked. Only T-Mobile can sim unlock your phone.
Prerequisites:
**Must be on MM and OEM Unlocked per Autoprime's method found here:

**Must be on H811 G4 or you will brick flashing to wrong partition. You've been warned.
Flash from TWRP.

Thanks for the brilliant job you do. I have a question that might be considered stupid, but I'll take the risk. I bought my G4 a few weeks ago, from a random bloke and out of the USA, and now it turned out to be SIM locked. Would this ROM somehow help? Thank you again.

I would flash it over the 10N bootstack but I haven't gotten a definitive answer as to whether MM will work with the 10N bootstack.

Not sure what answer your looking for here. lol One is stock T-Mobile USA ROM. The other Global is made for people in Europe, but I made it to work on the H811. That is the difference, nothing more, nothing less. lol
Some people like to use the Global ROM to be free of anything T-Mobile related. Its just another alternative.

I believe the difference is that 20i was altered by tmobile to their specifications and then pushed out to the 811s. 20e is untouched by tmobile and was intended for the European 815 models. Micromod got 20e running for the 811s incase people didn't want something that came from a carrier (spyware, bloat, featureset etc). Both versions should essentially run the same.. Same core features same ui same camera etc.

I believe you need to upgrade to 20i first, before flashing this rom. You need the stock firmware which you can obtain through the autoprime thread and then install TWRP and flash MicroMod's rom and everything should be running smoothly. If you run into any issues just search in the autoprime thread as most people have had similar problems and resolved it. Goodluck!
Is there a chance of losing sim unlock? I bought an unlock service from eBay, I'd hate to re flash a locked boot stack lol

@mrbox23 There should be NO chance of losing SIM unlock, if you do somehow I would contact your seller and tell them you upgraded to MM and in doing so you lost it. 2 things - 1. you shouldn't have so their system is flawed and they should appreciate knowing it if they are at all reputable, and 2. you shouldn't have so they should be willing to do it again for free. However if you are at all worried about them, and you've already left feedback to the positive, I would contact them first and see what they say their policy is. at least then you know what your risks are.
Is there a list of what is exactly "debloated"

Probably, hopefully. I don't know if lg added signature verification to their .tot files with the g6 or not. I would assume not
---------- Post added at 12:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:32 AM ----------
If you search through the g5 bounty thread, you will find that someone, can't remember who, took his g5 to a shop where they had the box to pull a stock .Tot file and went from there. I would suggest getting a small bounty together to him, if he even has the g6. The stock g6 tot file is where to begin. I have the v20 so I haven't kept up

He was wondering if the method he sent worked since he has a Verizon G6 and what you sent only works for the T-Mobile variant.

You can try this from the official LG site http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0702 it's not meant for the G6 but you can try it
T-mobile version is the only version rootable?
Josh McGrath said:
Probably, hopefully. I don't know if lg added signature verification to their .tot files with the g6 or not. I would assume not

I believe there is sig verification now. But that doesn't mean game over.. just has to be bypassed.
It's a shame that tmobile allows bootloader unlock but removed fastboot flash/boot commands.. therefore requiring a bug to be burned just to get TWRP flashed.

Tmobile H872 G6 doesnt have root yet and will only have root once they have a method to get TWRP onto the device. Fastboot boot/flash commands are disabled so it will take an exploit of some sort to get TWRP flashed to the recovery partition.
The only other G6 device that will have root is whatever device LG adds to the official bootloader unlock list which can be found here: http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0703
Currently there is no G6 model added to that list.. but over time they may add a model or two. The models added to the bootloader unlock list will be the models to get for proper bootloader unlock, TWRP and root without jumping through hoops like the Tmobile H872 variant does.
For all the other G6 variants without bootloader unlock (att, verizon, us cellular, canadian, australian, south american, korean, chinese, etc..), a new root method of some sort would be needed but there is nothing public yet. Once a public root arrives and if a debug bootloader image is leaked (like the LG V20) then other G6 variants might be able to have an unlocked bootloader allowing TWRP and permanent root.
The LG V20 used the dirty cow bug to gain temp root to obtain privileges that allow the debug aboot img and TWRP img to be flashed. Dirty Cow bug has been patched in the G6 so a new root method will be needed.
Just laying out all the current info to this date. I have no plans to work on any of this as I do not have the device.

Good info Autoprime! Hopefully LG will enable fastboot commands after a future update like they did on the G4.
I'm out in Samsung land now with a S8+ preorder. Guess no more roms for me for a while with the S8 being locked down probably for good.

If u go S8, be prepared for no root or roms.
I might jump back to this after the S8+.

There is no guarantee we will get root, either. Since we don't have fastboot commands.

[BOOTSTACK/MODEM/A2017] Updated modem and bootstack for A2017

Hi guys,
This is the bootstack from the latest nougat update for the Chinese version. I picked it up from 4 pda.
This upgrades the modem to the latest baseband version. I have been using it for about 2 days and the change in 4g signal is significant.
The signal is more stable and calls actually go through now.
This will work on all lineage os based roms
ZTE_A2017_V1.1.0B16_BootStack_Fix_by_djkuz.zip(includes patches for EDL, FASTBOOT and ROOT)

I would recommend doing a clean flash or at least removing security from your Android device before flashing or you will be locked out.
I have attched a screeshot with the latest baseband version
Can anybody please confirm that this update works? Thanks!

It works! I reflash it after every lineage os update
This bricked my phone, an A2017U Model.
Will attempt to recover it
Edit: Recovered, EDL was found working.

I know now, misread the topic, thought it was a bootstack extracted from the chinese variant for all variants.
well at least my post serves as a warning for all.
You think it can works with a2017 with a2017u stock b29 by draken rom?
Can I flash this over my current lineage 14.1?

As long as you have the Chinese version a2017, this will work.

Only flash if you have the Chinese version a2017, otherwise you will lose cell signal.

That means they flashed the U firmware, which is for the carrier unlock. I can understand how you'd think that, though I'm running this firmware, too.
Yes running u firmware
. But the bootloader is not unlockes

Sorry for my bad English, this rom can work with the t-mobile G935T model or with which models can be used. Qualcomm Processor based.
ok can someone make it clear about this rom can it work on the tmobile s7 edge if your running U firmware Yes or No cause with the different comments its not clear
and if it can't work the thread should be removed by the Moderators of this site so people like me don't do something dumb and flash firmware on there phone which can't work and mess up there phone

No, the kernel is not stock. You could possibly flash this with flashfire and after install, flash the eng kernel for t-mobile. It might work then.
Flashing with flashfire?? Anybody have tried yet??
