UPDATED
If you have flashed stock no brand fw starting from your branded P8 and now have a lot of problems about your device, or simply you want fully debrand your P8:
Put this file in your dload folder and flash it as all other Huawei FW from " updater " panel.
After that, reflash your full stock FW .

If you want ''de-brand'' phone from OP you only need root and then you can go to file manager locate device /system /media and just delete boot operators animation.zip

this is not fully true because if you are not rooted and you don't want root, only method to restore all partitions functionality/ fix network problems after flashed stock no brand FW, and make rom fully NO BRAND is mine.

Thx in advance.
I not post more message and i wait for your answer . I dont like spamming !

Thanks!!!

hi, if u want to debrand P8, first unlock bootloader then root the phone.
install files explorer and allow root access,
go to device /system /media and just delete boot operators animation.zip as XDADEVX say
then go to cust/ and cut folder for you'r opérator to sdcard (backup).
reboot it's done, no more brand, just huawei,
it seems thats more parameters change when deleting operator folder, like shortcut.
worked for me.

Here is a list of all the stuff that I got rid of, mostly crappy apps that are of no use and also the low battery noise and the boot sound:
*There will probably be things on the list that you use, like hangouts so check before you delete.

[Q] About Huawei P7-L11

Hi
i purchased p7 while ago and then while i search in the internet i find that there is many models of p7 and mine was p7-l11 and it's australian model but i'm not from australia
so this model seems that it doesn't receive any updates and it's still on EMUI 2.3 and probably will not get lolipop update also
is there a way to make it like global model (p7-l10 ) by install another ROM or something ? so it can receive the updates normally
thanks and sorry for my english.

You can flash the latest version manually, but I can't guarantee that you won't damage your device.
I think not much can go wrong as long as you don't change the kernel and have a backup of your current build (use CWM recovery > backup).

Probably only the CUST partition is different, but alas, there is no information whatsoever. If I'm not mistaken the Asian versions have the same hardware, so the number after the L should only mean that it's for another region, and that's all. There are a few ROMs made for the L01 here on the forum, and they are working on the L10, and vica versa. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't create hardware malfunction, so even if the software is buggy on the other variant if you have a backup, you can always flash the original.
First i would check if you have an unlocked bootloader .
When not unlock it by rooting with root genius.
The Kernel is for all models the same .
The different is the system , modem and cust partition.
So when you have one sim slot and one micro SD slot you can try it with the L-10 Software when you have dual-sim you have to try the China devices Software (L-5/7/9/0)
But i would recommend to flash a full update and not only the system partition
But flashing these Software from one on the other should not damege the device ..
But when you do this this youre deal, so don't blame me if something goes wrong...

If think your best bet is to ipdate with the three button method with the original bootloader and recovery. Download the full B609 ROM from here (click on Letöltés), put it in /sdcard0/dload (or on the SD card, doesn't matter), and update either through the system menu or by holding down all three buttons when booting. In case anything goes wrong (which it shouldn't), you can use the same method with the L11's ROM to downgrade.

Updating to the official ROMs is easy since there is a force update option. In your case it will still work and most likely will not cause any harm.
But now that I think of it, if you want to make a backup, you're out of luck. Well, mostly.
If you'd like to create a backup, you'd have to
unlock bootloader / flash an unlocked bootloader
flash recovery
backup your current ROM
All of the above can be done but you cannot flash a B609 ROM on top of a B133 base - you'd have to update with the recovery and bootloader you just lost to make a backup. If you don't have the original ROM's files, you cannot go back if anything goes wrong.
To sum it up:
you can easily update
you (probably) cannot make a backup
Decide for yourself it it's worth the minimal risk.

Well, since the L11's number seems to come from only being sold in Australia, and no hardware differences, the update should go without a hitch. But we can never know since nobody reported anything about it.
Now, just to be clear - L10 users have flashed L01 custom ROMs, and there seems to be no problems apart from the ROMs' bugs.
My opinion is that there will be no problems, but I am no expert as I have never heard of the L11 variant.

Ah, didn't think about the CUST partition - but yes, this is probably the only difference between the submodels. I you want to make sure you can return, see if your L11 has an update.app for the CUST partition. I remember distantly flashing these when upgrading to B602 (the beta of 4.4) and now when updating to the Lollipo beta.

Yes, the second one seems to me like a complete package. Don't know how to unpack the update.app, so we can't be sure. There is a thread though with an almighty CUST partition, that might help you - also, if you change the CUST, you can surely flash the ROM that' bund to your new CUST - so I think if you flash the international CUST with the international 4.4 ROM, then you can go back to the international B133 if aníthing goes wrong. Make sure you make a note of everything in your system information menu before doing anything.

Yes, you should first update to B133. Don't really know if it is necessary, mind you - but since that's the way he did it, I wouldn't wander off a beaten path The second step he makes is the update.app that modifies the CUST partition. If you flash that, I bet you can always roll back to B133 in the same thread.

Applying Firmware L09C02B128

Hi Guys,
I need a bit of help with my Huawei P9 Plus, which I purchased here in UK Vodafone.
The original firmware on the phone was VIE-L09C02B127.
However I had applied VIE-C900B103 - from one of the guides in this forum and I forgot to backup my oeminfo and custom files, does this mean that they are the still the original files for VIE-L09C02B127 ?
Also can someone help in getting my phone back to VIE-L09C02B128 please. I have got the firmware L09C02B128 from a German site, can someone here able to check it and confirm if it this the same as the UK one ?
I can upload the firmware if someone can tell me how to ?
Thanks in advanced,
Bashy
I would appreciate it if you could upload it thanks (been waiting for B128 in SA and it just doesnt arrive due to our useless carriers), think you can put it in Google drive, Dropbox, Mega etc and then just share the link, thats probably the easiest.
In terms of flashing you need to unroot (via SuperSU) then install stock recovery (if you have twrp installed), then see http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9-...ei-p9-plus-vie-l09-update-app-t3384951/page11 for installing.

Hi Jostian,
Here is the link https://mega.nz/#!8UsBhQAL!QT67L7uCsjbj0vNXT0vSLbksZRx9znv8aVlje2IvT_o
Also in regard to applying this firmware onto my phone I am not rooted nor I have trwp installed.
So do I just copy the .app file onto my memory card and put it in the dload folder ?
Thanks in advanced.

1) Copied the update file on to my memory card and put in in the dload folder.
2) Restarted the phone, whilst holding down the volume up and down.
3) The phone installed the file from the memory card.
Can you please confirmed how you did it mate step by step.

Hi Bashy, cos you are unrooted your phone will only show new 128 if you install full 128 ROM, dont think you can install update (b128) over b103 and get update to B128 in build number.
Did you try the *#*#2846579#*#* this opens menu options- press "SDCard Upgrade" then "Ok" method (give it a try), I unzipped yr file (6 or 7 files inside) copied these all to the 'dload' folder I created on the ext SD Card, then used the *#*# ..... method to update, the update like yours was successful (completed and I see a bunch of new apps etc.) but I still see B127 in settings/about phone/build number... so not sure why build no. remains B127???
I think the best would be to somehow find the full B128 ROM and flash it or for the B128 update to be put into a flashable (twrp) zip, but because the P9Plus is so new these options not available yet, they will come but it will take a bit of time.
Hi Guys,
the ota update failed on my phone. SO it didn't install any apps just changed the version info so basically It says b128 and cant find any new updates..
I downloaded the b128 voda update from a german site.
How do I install it?
putting the ZIP file into the DL folder and copy the updater.app from it to the DL folder
or
Do I need to extract the contents of the ZIP as well?
Thank you!

you need to extract the files from the zip, should be 2 files (Update.app and Meta-info) you put those 2 in the dload folder and then use the *#*#.... (project menu to install), remember you must be on stock recovery and phone must not be rooted.

HI Bash25,
Did you just "flash" the c432b161? or unlocked the bootloader, installed custom recovery, rooted, changed oem info etc..???
(I dont have much experience with huawei phones...)
Thanks,
fr34ky
Think you need to do it the long way, don't think the flash will succeed if you just try flash over different variant code
sent from my P9+
Yep. Thanks

Hi mate,
So for the delay in responding back.
My phone was did not have the bootloader unlocked and nor it was rooted.
However I did try to root it to change the 2 files over. But I can't confirm 100% worked.
Only way I would know this these 2 files were correctly updated is to check. I am not sure how too, but if someone can show then this would be great.

[Problem] Huawei Theme not really applied

Hi there,
I'm using a Huawei P9+ Vie-L29.
I was tempted to Root it and enjoy a new Rom, I only found RayGlobe ROM which gave access to some settings but was not maintained and were no other custom ROMS, so I went back to Stock and locked bootloader again.
After coming back to stock, the huawei Theme Manager says that is applying the theme but in reality it does not change anything.
I already did a full re flash of the VIE-L29C636B170 software, with no success.
Also tried a full phone reset with no success.
I have seen a forum from Mate 8 with EMUI4.1 with a similar problem and a solution that requires Root, but, since Im in stock now it does not apply for me any more.
Do you have any hint or suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, faced similar issue previously. You'll need to root your rom and copy some theme files to the system folder. Then your themes will work. It's like the default theme folders are not there in the system. After that, if you want to unroot, use SuperSU's unroot feature. Let me see if I can find the reference and the file links I found last time later to post it up.
@juanmre, following is the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/solve-apply-themes-downloaded-t3318265
I think it is the same link you mentioned.
And yes, unfortunately you will need to root again to solve this theme issue. Then unroot after that.

Interesting, mostar088.
I would like to try this again when I have time.
Can you advice which specific files to download for VIE-L29C636B170?
For example, I see that there are two links mentioning "hw/default". Do I download all the files with "hw/***"?
Thanks.

After rolling back from Android N beta version (which was draining my battery very fast), I faced the same problem with the themes.
So I gave this solution a try again and finally noticed that the "hw" folder is still within another "hw" folder, after fixing it, only one "hw" folder together with the "UPDATE.APP" file, everything worked and I'm able to change themes again. (by the way, it did make a fresh install again, so backup before if you want to try).

IDEM!! COMPLETELY IDEM! I had the pra-lx1c55b105 too, and, after root, I have your same problems too! Please, someone help us!!!
nobody read the multiple thread about this problem ?
Sorry but it's really annoying. (it's not about you, nothing personnal
Your problem is related to a different version between the boot_root image and, the system partition...
You could try to update your phone to the latest firmware (so you have to configure the wifi and then check in the "about" page for an update)
If an update if available, then I think this will solve your problem.
And be very carefull, never install (apk or worse, flash a partition ) something if no version is specified
My friend had maked the update over Wi-Fi but after the download the flash in the recovery fails, why ? @ripp2003 can you link me where la located this theard ? Thanks a lot

But this topic is related to PR1-LX1C432B110 and this is the source of newesc.... (this topic got a lot of informations on how to find your firmware)
So right now, you need the exact version of the firmware : I think it's pra-lx1c55b105
-> Find it and download it with Huawei Firmware Finder
-> Extract the boot.img from the firmware with Huawei Firmware Extractor (or maybe you've done a copy before flash the boot_root.img ?)
-> fastboot flash boot boot.img
You 'll lost root but this way, I think you can recover your phone
If this doesnt work, I'm really sorry but, you have to wait for some developpers to make Rom....or, some special things for recover an official firmware.
I'm sorry, this situation is a bullsh**
Really Good luck

Yes everything works. I did factory reset and the phone is back to default.
I extracted BOOT image and RECOVERY image with HuaweiUpdateExtractor.
After that with I copied both BOOT and RECOVERY image in Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.
At last I've connected the phone to PC and flashed BOOT and RECOVERY image.
I've disconnected the phone booted in recovery did factory reset and after that phone booted normally.

It might be best to re-install your firmware. Also why did you linked system apps?
Your explanation is bit difficult to understand, could you maybe give a more detailed explanation or would you want step by step guide to help you with rooting and configurating apps2sd? You seem to be having lot of problems with getting apps2sd working as wanted.

To get past honor logo you need to re-install whole firmware, because most likely system partition has something that prevents boot or boot partition has problem.
I'm using marsmallow and Apps2SD works normally for me. I don't think it matters which version you are using, but getting back to kitkat might be difficult.

I've read from somewhere that it isn't as easy as it looks like(though I haven't tested it myself). I think it's because there are partitions which you can't flash in fastboot and the "updateflasher.zip" thread says that method only works on android LP and MM.
I can guide you with apps2sd, but if you root with magisk I can't help if problem is somehow related to it since I have never used it.

Well I prefer this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/mega-thread-root-unbricking-updating-t3400994 chapter 8 is rootin.
Actually needed steps are:
1. Flash 1.zip
2. Flash SuperSu.zip can be found from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703
3. Make sure it says "installing mode system-less" or something similiar.
4. Reboot your phone. It will boot loop once or twice and then works normally.
Then I can help you with apps2sd if you still want.

He was having unstable internet connection previously while he requested my help.
@Kireto00
redownload the zip file from the link i provided now and repeat the process ie.., unpacking and repacking the two zip files and give a try.
I strongly believe that either the zip downloaded is corrupt or while rezipping the file you might have faced the error.
