[Request] Change icon pack for any theme in theme store? - Galaxy S6 Themes and Apps

There are a few decent themes in Samsungs store. However, the icon packs are horrendous. Nova launcher hides them in some places but not others, like the share menus.
Does anyone know how to flash the material icons over any theme?
Edit: Also, how about the wallpaper for settings and dialers?
Thanks for any help [emoji2]

Galaxy icon themer? Is it in the play store?

You would need apktool to compile the icons into the actual theme. However, if you want to just remove the icons and have them stock, you can try this:
-Edit /data/overlays/jsonfiles/userjson/THEMENAME.json and remove the line for "appicon", then delete the corresponding folder from /data/app/THEMENAME.appicon-1. If you want to remove the icons from the lockscreen, you will need to do the same for the "lock" line/file.

Preciate the help I had no trouble installing the themed Launcher itself but how do you apply the themed app icons to your applications? I'm running DK28 ViperROM Trinity 2.o and I tried flashing the icon pack zip in CWM3 but "installation failed" any more suggestions?

You do not flash the icon zip. There are icons only with a blank starter icon to roll your own icons. Copy the unzip folder to your sdcard folder (exp: LP Icons).
Press and hold the icon you want to change. Select change icons, goto the folder you created called LP icons and select the icon you want. You may also at this time change the label name of the icon pointer to the app.

Let's say you want to change the phone icon for your LPro. Press and hold and you will get a screen "Edit dock shortcut". Select "Change Icon" then "Custom Icon" now you are in the Gallery. Find the folder that you named before and then select the icon you want to replace the phone icon with. Select the blue phone icon. Now you are done with custom icons. BTW: any icon that you select should have a size of 84x84. I think the ones I put in the zip folder are folder are 128x128. Please resize to 84x84 before using those icons for the screen to look correct. Hope this helps
Edit: Just tried this myself and the icon don't show to the correct size. Will have to look into why?????????

Ight preciate it mane this was a big help...I also figured out that if you longpress on the homescreen to add an application shortcut you can modify the app icon and name of any application on the phone with any icons you have in the gallery...only gripe I have is that the icons only change on top of the launcher homecreens...still a pretty cool feature doe...thanks again mane.
P.S. I have the same icons and they look and work just fine with the size they came after I put it under the DCIM folder on the SD card.

Ginger DX = Framework-res.apk

Hello Guys over XDA's...is ginger-DX cant be edited framework-res.apk like xml's and png?...and metamorphing caught me to a boot loop??,,,any ideas?
You can to decompile framework-res.apk using apktool or apkmanager
GingerDx uses T-mobile theme. Download one of them and if you want to edit the default framework what you have to theme is not the usual framework-res.apk but the SystemUi (or something like that) app in system/app. Then you push back the modified app to system/app. You can use apktool to modify the theme.

In that case, just install and apply that theme, then go to gingerdx setting to set the statusbar transparency to theme and reboot
Not all launcher can have transparent statusbar,
If you're using launcher pro,you should use live wallpaper to get the transparent statusbar
I suggest you use zeam launcher

Sorry, thought you only need transparent statusbar
Just like i've said before, you can use apktool to decompile framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk
You need java installed on your pc first
But gingerdx already have a feature for transparent statusbar
I've tried it and it works, but i found a lil bug on date when pull down the statusbar

here's i made the patch for GingerDX v.007
1. apply theme that support transparent statusbar like MIUI or Meizu
2. go to gingerdx setting and set statusbar transparency to theme
3. reboot to CWM Recovery and flash statusbar_patch.zip
i only patch the centered clock and modified pulled down statusbar because GDX already have feature for transparent statusbar

[GUIDE]How to make status bar transparent

You need to have these things first :
1- Root
2- Deodexed ROM
3- PC (with JAVA installed)
4- Any apk decompiler (apktool, apk-multitool, etc..)
How to :-
1- Copy SystemUI.apk from /system/app/ to your sd card via any root browser.
2- transfer SystemUI.apk to your computer.
3- Decompile SystemUI.apk.
4- Open res\layout\status_bar.xml
5- There you will see a value like android:background=FF000000
6- To make it translucent type 5F000000 instead of FF000000 or to make it full transparent type 000000
Enjoy and if any questions plz ask here.. .

Ok, this guide needs to be elaborated...
I did the same, and following was output:
1. Even while changing background to 5f000000, background became full transparent.
2. Whenever i open an app, status bar becomes black again(opaque)
3. During media scanning also status bar looses transparency!
This means status bar is only transparent when on homescreen!
I'm attaching images which i tried on jelly blast rom and also the modded systemui.apk (of Jelly Blast rom) if anyone wants to try. Just rename the file to systemui.apk and put in system/app, change permissions and reboot. you will face lots of force close messages but don't worry after reboot it'll be fine!:good:

bro you don't have to edit drawer.xml but statusbar.xml -.-
And this guide is small and easy one for those who don't want to all the long fuss!
so you will get transparent status bar only when on homescreen or pulling the notification panel down
And I you want permanent transparency then you must search other guides or if they are not there then I will try to make it when I would get time
i think that I should mod the launcher so that it will have permanent trans. but I don't know how, if its ok with to make a tut it will be a big help for me

Samsung theme store theme that doesn't skin the icons?

Does anyone know of a theme in the Samsung theme store that doesn't overwrite the icons? I'm looking for a UI/Dialer/Quicksettings change, but I use Unicon and every theme I've tried always takes over the icon theme I want installed.

I have a Samsung theme installed on my Galaxy S6. I have custom toggle icons and I had to go to my root folder data/app and find the theme folders. I deleted the one called "lock", if I'm not mistaken, to get my icons to work.

Gesture on third party launcher is now working

For you who likes to use third party launcher but still want to keep on using the gesture rather than oldschool navbar button, there's a work around (I've tested it on my 10T)...
What you need:
1. A little bit of knowledge on how to modify a theme
2. Gesture app such as FNG
3. Third party launcher (I use Nova7)
How to:
1. Turn on the navbar button as your defauly setting and turn your gesture app up and running...
2. Put this script on your theme:
Save this script on framework-res > themevalues.xml
<dimen name="navigation_bar_height">0.0dip</dimen>
<dimen name="navigation_bar_height_landscape">00.0dip</dimen>
3. Set your theme and enjoy your new home screen using third party launcher + gesture...

Thanks for the tip, almost all works, excepet to hide the navbar....

Default theme should work, but unfortunately you need to have root access in able to save the script onto the default theme...
If you have custom ROM installed, all you need is a modified theme (mtz file) that you can download from any website, save the script mentioned, and import the mtz file via theme manager, then apply it
Ok, thanks, not a big problem, I can use the FNG. Every reboot, I have to disable the navigation bar in the system settings, and working fine.
I would like to ask a favour....
Just for test reason.
Could you pls create a .mtz file include the mentioned script to "hide" the navbar? Example the default stock theme will be perfect....
Because the mtz files installable on the stock ROM and no root required, just enough the MIUI Theme editor as I know. If working, anybody can really hide the navbar on MIUI 12.5 without root, of course, with the FNG....

My question to this is, Miui 12.5 on ID ROM (Indonesia ROM), can't apply third party theme... Although it is a default theme, when I extract the default theme, it's automatically becomes third party theme, it's no longer recognized as the default theme. I don't know if other ROM from other countries can apply any external theme. If your ROM can use a theme that modified by MTE, I surely can extract the default theme and save the script onto it. But it's no use if I make the theme, but your ROM doesn't allow you to apply third party theme... Pardon my English...

Hi,
I really would like to test your modified theme too.
Sent you an access request on gdrive
Thanks
Hi arbayxda,
I tried your modified theme on my device (Redmi note 10) and it worked... half !
After being imported and installed with MIUI Theme Editor, the theme can be applied and the nav bar gets hidden.
But for some reason, after nearly 2 hours or so, the theme gets automatically replaced by the default one (maybe because it comes from a different device model)
So It's not a success for me, but I know now that it can be done on an unrooted RN10 (I can now investigate more...)
Oh and, the file to be edited in framework-res is theme_values.xml (not themevalues.xml)
Thanks again for the help and informations
I also sent request for gdrive.
