LTE working
Hi,
i just installed this rom on my Thor LTE Unlocked BL with TWRP and (nearly) everything is fine:
LTE works (dialog with SIM-Pin takes about 2 minutes to pop up after boot, but that is ok).
just two things:
- registering with google account is not possible due to broken hosts-file. I commented the line with "127.57.144.26 android.clients.google.com" and everything works fine with google.
- Rotation is upside down. Apps, that rotate to landscape (plex, for example) rotate so that the camera is at the bottom side, not on the upper side. So sound is reversed, and speaker are looking down instead of up.
btw - this rom installs fine, not complaining about failed symlinks like the "HDX_Nexus_ROM_Thor-v4.0.3-B02.zip" does ...
good job!
ps: i was a bit irritated regarding the missing root app, but then i read your post#1

Thanks for letting me know, is it possible for to you try SMS and a phone call?
@sn123py - For your apps that rotate upside down try locking the orientation the correct way up first then start your app and let me know if that works.

send SMS: working
receive SMS: working
outgoing call: not working (call ended immediate)
incoming call: not working (get a ring-tone on the other side, but HDX keeps quit).
btw - i never got phone calls working on my hdx.
fixed tablet in landscape (with camera on the top side), started plex and rotation was ok.

Not sure if calling can work or not on HDX hardware. Just thought I'd give it a try
SMS working is good.

Thanks for the ROM it works perfect on thor I installed it in the 1 slot an every things working WiFi and Bluetooth, sound, location is all good you are the man ggow

Well, Apollo LTE works great, in both TWRP and SafeStrap (LTE works in ANY slot btw)...
Takes about a minute to initialize the baseband and get signal, fyi.
Only sad report is that calls don't work yeah, disconnection time the moment a number is dialed.
Another champion effort @ggow

Do calls work on stock, has anyone ever had calling working at all?
I am wondering whether it's a limitation of the device?

Thankyou your effort and i was install cm rom but i can't install stoc rom Install only another rom anyone who why is that result?

I have twrp installed but the bootloader is locked

Just speculating here but it may be highly probable that the RIL libs do not support voice calling. I haven't got time at the moment to investigate. So I think for now at least this one will stay parked.

Update after two days with this Rom:
I had some strange messages that the sim-card was removed and reinserted and the dialog asked me to reboot the tablet to activate the changes (?!). I simply tapped the back-button several times (there were about 10 dialog-boxes stacked) and everything is still working including LTE.
just wanted to let you know.

Wow roms coming thick and fast now, this is brilliant thanks... do we have installation instructions and a bugs list please ?
thank you for your good job!
maybe LTE will come soon either!
Jeez... i feel like i'm playing with my Touchpad again. nice work
WOW!!!!!!!!
I have done something weird with BT on this release, its not working. I'll fix this tomorrow.
Sorry for the few leechers, i have deleted the file and re-upload with same filename to add the bluetooth fix. But at least bt should work !
Does it need to be installed on top of cm11? Tried to TWRP factory reset then install a couple of times and just got stuck of grey kindle fire logo, wiping cache/dalvik didn't help.
You should just need to wipe system and data. Did you installed the first zip ? I forget to remove some oc code in it so it could be that. Also, it could be useful for me to know if it worked for someone
Don't think I wiped system, just basic factory reset in twrp. Tried with the original zip, downloading the new one now and will wipe data too before installing.

No luck I'm afraid, stuck at grey logo again. CM11 installs fine but both CM12 zips won't cooperate.

Hum ok :/
Then we'll have to wait for more reports to see. At least it work fine here so maybe I need to update twrp or your firmware files. By the way, what is exactly your device ? Mine is thor 16gb WiFi only, and I comes from 3.2.4 bootloader but updates non-hlos (firmwares) to 4.5.3.

Tried that with same results, no matter what I do always the same stuck gray logo. All other roms work without issue so I suppose I'll just have to go back to CM11 until I figure this out.

First let me say thanks for this ROM! I have found that I am having same issue with video on it as I had with the CM 12.1 ROM, using VLC to play videos I have to disable hardware acceleration to play any MP4 format videos and for MKV format files I have to turn it back on.
Beyond that seems quite fast and working well.

This is one of the only reasons I haven't installed one of these custom roms yet.
Just wanted to ask if it was theoretically possible for slim6 to run on the Amazon Fire?
I think that Doze will probably make this tablet into something that lasts longer than 2hrs SoT

I installed using supplied instructions and have a bug to report:
When the screen turns off it flashes the screen in the orientation 90 degrees from it's current orientation. So if it is in landscape and I press the power button, it flashes portrait and then screen off. If it is in portrait, it flashes landscape and then screen off. Totally superficial as far as I can tell, but wanted to let you know. Will continue to test.

I have the same issue on Slim, as well as CM with this device.
Guys, any luck with XPosed ?
I got bootloop after installing xposed-v78-sdk22-arm.zip, which was working on original and CM roms.
Also, I don't get random shutdowns on this rom (which made me crazy on CM)
Thanks for the effort! This is awesome.
Ordering mine tonight!!!! Can't wait til I get it.
Is Bluetooth a matter of time? Or is there a fundamental problem?

If anyone is looking to get the Fire in the US, ordering it from Best Buy online for in store pickup is the best way to go. I ordered it this morning and it is already in store whereas amazon has it backordered until December 17th+
ROM installed fine but whenever I try to open Google Play, I get ''Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped working''.
Anyone know of a working solution?
Cheers
EDIT: I flashed a different version of Gapps and that sorted my issues out. (Slim_mini_gapps.BETA.5.1.build.0.x-20151121)
Thanks for the ROM!
Does anyone know about how to fix the vertical stretching on the screen? Is there a certain DPI we should be setting?

It seems the actual pixels in the screen aren't perfectly square.

Nice. I am mooving most of stuff to the git group. When i'm home, I'll commit the kernel patches.
For those who want to see the image boot without spending a lot of time, check YouTube. (Quality of the recording is pretty bad though)

For me the touchscreen is the main focus point now. (Wifi and screen glitches fixed would make it usable as a daily for me) Got the firmware and other blobs from a T810 Android 5.1.1 image (Canadian), we'll see what's the result of this compile.
Edit: recompile didn't fix the touchscreen, manually adding the 'system.prop' part of the original build.prop to the build.prop file and reboot helped with the touchscreen. Now to get it in the build atomagically and fix the wifi. (Can turn it on, won't stay on)
A quick teaser...
Screen stays off after timeout, but touchscreen issue was due to 270 degree difference between lcd and touch panel, a config setting which has been added to the sources.

That is the cm-12.1-20151214-UNOFFICIAL-gts210wifi.zip, yep, touchscreen is fixed, screen flickers and you need to be fast to disable the screen timeout to be able to do something with it. As soon as the screen goes dark, it stays dark until you reboot. It is a build of the T710 version from @CTXz with just some very minor changes to get it running on this tablet. (Mainly codename and screen rotation) @CTXz pushed a T810 kernel to the new repo, will test that one tonight or tomorrow.
BTW make sure you have a backup and read the recovery section, regular reboot to TWRP didn't work on my device.
Ok, small update, screen flicker is solved, tablet can be turned on again after screen goes off. However, rotation doesn't work. Not sure if I broke it or it didn't work to start with. Will work on it tomorrow.

I was about the get crazy until I read the end xD
It's been quiet for a while, been learning a lot last week, however, mostly what doesn't work. I hope to get my build environment back to a correct state and build an image that is in the same state as the one on the 16th.
This is a first, developing cm myself. I'm getting frustrated with the way git works. (or at least, it's counter intuitive to me, so I messed up a bit and reverting to an older state is not that straight forward as I would expect it to be) I'll get there eventually, but it's slower then I would like.
Priority list for me:
Getting build environment under control so I get something bootable again
Rotation
SD card
Wifi
Just got the wifi working on the T710. Fix will be applied to the T810 and should work too

Nice! Thank your very much for this early build!
I will try it as soon as I am able.
Sent from my SM-T810 using XDA-Developers mobile app
GO hard brother, thanks for all your efforts!
I've been using cm-14 since the 20-9 build, it's running pretty stable, although it's even more stable with selinux in permissive. Looks like some contexts have changed a bit in cm-14. (or the camera and some other routines ignore them)
I found 1 game not playing nicely with Nougat, CSR Classics, but the racing set from CSR work nicely, so I think that's a CSR related bug.
Fixed camera so it'll work in selinux enforcing (not yet activated) and front facing camera is able to save images.
Updated OP.
Awesome thank you!
@T_I Thought you might like 2 comments re your really great adaptation of CM14. Have been using your CM13 nightly downloads for about the last 5 weeks on my T810 and was so pleased with the result that I was slightly hesitant about trying CM14, however this afternoon I took the plunge and installed it as per your instructions. First impression is that I can hardly believe how problem free the installation of the Rom and the Open Gapps 7.0 pico proved to be.
I don't have a huge number of apps installed, about 30, but with one exception they are all performing as scheduled and I couldn't be more pleased, the one app that doesn't work is "Set CPU", there is no "forced closure", no error message, it just doesn't work. There are no forced closures of any other app including the Google Play & Services.
One point which might interest you as you mentioned it in your "OP" notes. I play mp4 movies using the app "MX Player Pro" with the Arm 7 codec installed and they play using the HW+ codec perfectly,
Was initially disappointed that "Theme Chooser" was missing from "Settings" but I can live with that considering how well everything else performs.
Once more congratulations on a really superb "port".
EDIT on 09.27.... @T_I I know this point is insignificant and pure "eye candy" but I love the touch ..... I'm talking about when one connects a usb connection from PC to S2 then the "icon" displayed at top left is now "N" (for Nougat ?) instead of the normal CM icon.
planning to attempt with the t710 again?lol

I can run a cm-14 build for T710 to see if that one boots.
I can test it and let you know , in my limited time I have lol
This rom is very stable, fast and reliable. The battery life is excelent. I use it as my daily driver since sept. 22!!! (Now i have a sept. 27 update)
Thanks T_I for your hard work!!!
Uploaded new image. @RaymanFX got bluetooth working on his device and the fix works on T810 as well. Also CM switched cm-14.0 from staging to release. There is still work to be done, but build shows working bluetooth (at least I can connect a keyboard and that one works).
I noticed crashing phone app and saw one ExchangeServices crash. (don't use both) Updates OP.
Latest build works wonders after I deleted from /system/app and /system/priv-app all the apks related to telephony/SMS/MMS/etc. for my T810.
EDIT: After some time, it all came crashing down, Play Services didn't like the removal of the packages, and some apps auto-removed themselves. Better wait until dev ships out another build.
Just tried to install the Oct 3 version of this ROM and as soon as it boots a box appears saying "com.android.phone has stopped". No matter how many times I click OK, the message just reappears and I can't get past it. Even have to use the power-home-vol- button combination to power off. This is on a T810 after full wipe, install ROM and install 7pico gapps. Tried the install three times. Coming from cellular south 6 ROM.
Please don't forget T710....

I got the same message, but can mute. Don't know where it comes from. I was working on the staging version of cm-14 and switched to the release version. Looks like there are some bugs left. (it's now less stable then with the staging cm-14)

I get the message with the 2 options 'stop application' and 'Mute until reboot'. The Mute option silences the warnings, but the app will still misbehave.
Exchange services I've been able to freeze, the phone app is also used for syncing contacts and I think calendar.

Hi dev, thanks for your work. I had two major problems when testing this build.
1. Connected bluetooth headset doesn't play sound. I tried Sony WH-1000XM3, which shows LDAC with no sound, and OnePlus bullet wireless 2, which should use aptx-HD but seems using SBC and also no sound.
2. The default launcher shows the app you choose to hide, which is as same as the HMD internal build 4040.

because we used prebuilt hmd-vendor.img from 4040 as you mentioned.
once after stable release i will replace with stable vendor.img
reason behind this is without Q vendor.img and Q kernel we can boot but 50% of the rom is buggy so i used beta Q vendor & kernel to make rom stable as soon as possible some how this is just initial build. 99% rom is fine 1% belongs to new bugs which you people comment below here

thank you for the effort, i have flashed the rom. i have below questions to post:
1. the rom does not support hot-plug of SIM, whenever i plugin my sim card , reboot is needed.
2.after flashed the rom, i could not receive or send any msg (service provider is 'China Telecom'), but when i plugin another SIM card(China Unicom) ,i can send or receive msg. i need to plugin both SIM cards to activate msg function, then i can use my china telecom card.
3. when i press power button to wake my device, the animation will pop from the bottom left of screen, will be a little stuck, top screen and right screen will be black. after about 0.1s , it will back to normal

i agree with your points. well having some issues from rom sources side and device sources side too they are still in beta stage and iam still in initial stage. can we expect some time? Mr. mate?
Thanks for the reply bro, sure I have plenty of time to wait and try your excellent ROM. I am looking forward to your update ?
I just installed the rom.its smooth and the battery seems fine to me (will update if I see problems.) When you wake the phone the wallpaper goes from the bottom right and it's kinda glitchy. The sim card is a bit finiky as well as once I rebooted I lost access to my sim card and I could only get it back if I put the sim tray out of the phone and rebooted while putting it back in. Everything else seems to work ok at the moment.
I did have a problem installing though as when I switched slots to install the kernel it brought me to stock recovery and when I switched slots to go back to twrp it froze so I had to boot twrp from download mode and install from there.
My model is Ta 1055 (single sim) and it does thinks it's a dual SIM.
Thanks a lot for the ROM, you are a real help for the Nokia 7 plus community and I appreciate the effort you put into these ROMs and recoverys!

I am using your build when i installed your twrp using the installer I only did it once and not on the two slots. Was I supposed to do it twice for each slot?
Could you share screenshots of the camera app? Is the Nokia Camera App included?
This needs unlocked bootloader ???
