[Q] Galaxy S6 Active Users - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6

Me and my best friend bought the Active 3 weeks ago and I'm noticing while I'm viewing with a white background a visible black box inside the screen when I'm outside in the sunlight.
I just looked at his today and I see the same thing. Does anyone else see this?

I've read reports of this before. I think it's just the structure of the screen. Since you can't see it unless you actively look for it, I wouldn't worry about it. AoN

AT&T SGNote-Screen Mode missing?

I finally checked out the SGNote today in an AT&T store for an hour (both it & a case fits in my pockets & feels fine in my hand/s but the huge screen is startling at first then I started getting used to it) but they did not yet make the S-Pen available to play with (fearing people would steal it I guess).
One thing I did not see was Settings->Display-Screen Mode->"Dynamic, Standard, Movie"?
A Google now turned up:
http://phandroid.com/2012/02/18/samsung-galaxy-note-review/
"One of things sadly missing from the Note (and is present in the Epic 4G Touch) was the Screen Mode option in the display settings. Not exactly sure why all Samsung SAMOLED devices don’t have this option but it was disappointing to see this left out of the Note. Being able to turn down/max out the amount of color saturation on your SAMOLED device is one of the best ideas since.. well, SAMOLED."
WTF? Why? -Thanx
Sorry just noticed http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1494 but I'm still curious from people here as well why AT&T removed this?

I assume if I get the AT&T version, root it I could add it back?
How easily? Please confirm -Thanx

Are there no more screen issues?

I haven't seen people talk about screen issues in a long time. Is this finally resolved?
what screen issue? no issues with the screen here, and i got mine in november.
I had a screen issue where half the screen tint was yellower than the other half. I held off on an RMA. It corrected itself overtime. 64GB Midnight Blue direct from Motorola.
I don't doubt that there were screen issues and I'm sure some owners did have significant problems, but my take on the whole "screen issue" topic was that it was exaggerated. I ordered my device (64GB MB) in December and got it in January and have had no screen issues. AMOLED screens are prone to burn in/image retention, and people are more likely to post if they have a problem rather than no problems. When people need a completely grey screen to notice retention/burn in to complain about they are just looking for something to complain about.
I had the screen issue where 1/2 my screen would freeze. My RMA has been fine and I received it back in December.

Friend of mine had the same issue couple times but then it stopped and now is working fine.
Did someone figure out what was the problem?
Just bought my nexus on Saturday and I am experiencing this issue. What's the likelihood of it being just a software issue? Don't want to exchange it if there's a software fix.
From reading past threads, I know of three 'screen' issues.
1. pink/salmon coloring on low brightness
2. split screen jumbling/distortion
3. burn in/image retention
My phone was manufactured 1/15/2015.
Specifically ordered from tmobile, so midnight blue.
1. I don't have any pinking/salmon tint on lowest brightness. I use the lowest brightness by default and I have looked at a pure white background. This is certainly a more subjective issue.
2. I don't have the split screen bull**** I've seen. That's clearly broken and a hardware issue so send it back for an RMA.
3. Remains to be seen on my phone. I went ahead and disabled the softkeys, and added pie control just in case. I don't think this is 'fixable'.
I have noticed that the pink/salmon coloring on lowest setting varies from one rom to the other. No issues on stock, or stock based Roms. Definitely see it on anything I've flashed that was AOSP built or CM.
Just my experience.
I got my 64gb Midnight Blue yesterday and I've noticed some fine vertical and horizontal lines on the screen.
Its especially visible on white/grey or solid colour images. When scrolling a webpage the contents move but the lines stay stationary. I have a very similar issue as whats shown in this video:

Sadly a by product of AMOLED. I've seen this issue a lot worse on older phones like the early Galaxy S'.
You can probably try to get an RMA, but I suspect that this issue is going to be present in some mild way on most devices.

[Q] Intermittent smearing (blurry) screen

Hey all,
I got this badass LG R watch for Xmas and it's never had a problem. Then a day or so ago it's started "smearing" on the screen. Anything white/lighter colour sort of ghosts or glows like it's being viewed through frosted glass.
The touch screen still works and any and all functionality is still there with no problems. It's only the view that's sort of washed out. I don't use "always on" and it's not screenburn as I've tried different watch faces and it still does it.
Worst part is: It's not permanent. It's completely intermittent and I have no idea how to duplicate it. I went to take a picture of it to go with this post, and now it's not even bloody doing it.
Not sure if it's related or not, but I've been having difficulties with my phone's OS upgrade at around the same time (4.4.3 is giving me ****s) and it's paired to that, so I don't know if that'd cause issues. Dog knows that the phone is having issues...
Any help/advice is much appreciated! Cheers!
Have run another upgrade across the phone and it appears to be bringing down the frequency of the blurriness. I'm seeing it only once or twice a day since then.
Any ideas?

Possible screen defect

I have been having bad luck with my new phones. I decided to get the AT&T galaxy s6 active. My first galaxy s6 active developed a lower microphone problem. The microphone was garbled at first, which I attributed to bad signal quality when I made a call and it sounded bad.
Then it stopped working altogether, which I discovered when Google Now stopped working. AT&T completely replace the phone, after an hour wait in which someone had to run across the street to retrieve a replacement.
After using the new phone for a few weeks , I noticed that while displaying gray colors, faint lines would be visible on the screen. This is slightly visible on scrolling images of solid colors. Actually noticed while playing game called arrow, and I thought it was dirt under my screen protector. I remove the screen protector and clean the phone, but the lines remained.
I checked another galaxy s6 active that another family member owns that has the same screen protector, and he had similar looking lines only apparent on gray colors, although they were even fainter and in different positions and numbers presumably. I check a third active that's never had a screen protector. It had the same lines. These are all new phones about two to three weeks old. I checked a normal galaxy s6 that my sister owns, and it did not exhibit those lines.
As far as I know both phones have the same screen but the galaxy s6 ACTIVE has a waterproof coating. This is a side effect of having the coating ? I did contact live support which was no help at all. He / she I just advised me to return it to AT&T, which I am NOT doing again especially if it's might B a normal trait. Any ideas?

Lots of ghost touch issues on brand new s20fe Snapdragon

So, when i cross more than 3 fingers horizontally in screen, it goes haywire (even starting to take screenshots by itself), it was purchased not even a week ago, and is updated to the last version. Also, it doesn't have any screen protector installed. Is this a trouble with my unit in specific or -still- a common issue? I tried to replicate the issue in my s9+ and on a s20 ultra from a friend and none of them showed this.
Your browser is not able to display this video.
it's the panel that was used for this phone, I've heard another phone that shares the same panel also has this issue. if people are being honest then it's not every single phone or panel, not by a long way. but those who have this problem won't get a software fix for it!
