KODI 15 - Ouya Android Development

Has somebody already have experience with KODI 15 with a custom ROM on the OUYA? Which rom to recommend, does it work stable?
(Kodi 15 requires Android 4.2, Stock Oyua is on 4.1)

+1

This is the closest your going to get and although I haven't tried it yet, I have done my research (unlikely you clearly) and it seems to be the only option right now:

AOSP 4.4 with working rotation & camera

Hey all,
Found this on dhacker29's Twitter, been using it for a couple of days. It's pretty much the same AOSP 4.4 that we already have from EvanA and koko98, with one big difference. Autorotate and Camera are both working!
I figured I'd share and also hope that this can be used by other devs to get it working in their builds. I've also included a link to dhacker's gapps package, I've used both his and the PA gapps without issue.;
AOSP 4.4 rom: http://t.co/9mSQtIRoO7
Gapps: http://t.co/o4wzxsfkig
Just to be clear, this is not my work. I am just spreading the news. All credit for this excellent build goes to XDA member dhacker29. For those of us that are using his rom, it would be a good idea to thank dhacker29 for his work.
Just find one of his posts/threads on XDA and click a thanks for him. This is a pretty cool and very functional rom to have so early in 4.4 development.
EDIT: koko98 has built a CM11 that also has working rotation and camera. Here's his link in the dev section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509905

Been using it for a few days now. Only bug I've found is that location services don't work.
Might want to note that my device was charging extremely slowly after flashing this (might just be me)

EDIT: had to find a SU zip, something about this broke that.

Simply the best 4.4 rom available, great work!!
It's very good, except I don't know how to root it. I didn't flash gapps and now I have no custom recovery, nor root, and my computer won't detect is ADB device. Any help?

How? I have no TWRP, and I can't get TWRP because all of a sudden my PC no longer sees Nexus 7 at all, no MTP, so I can't access that and even when I properly reinstall all the drivers and enable USB debugging, it doesn't detect any ADB devices. It just gives me Windows beep beep sounds when plugging it in, but that's it, other than that it's useless. I should note that this started happening just after I installed Kit Kat (100% pure install), and I should add that I'm running Windows 8.1
Other than this, the ROM is very good! Well done developer.
If this is such a great ROM shouldn't it be posted in "Original Development?"
I was on 4.4 but downgraded because I wanted Screen Control and the Camera back.

what recovery were you using to flash this? the ROM flash shouldn't change your recovery.

Install recovery tool from the play store, use that to flash the latest twrp, it's a pretty useful app.

It's not posted in development because the dev, dhacker29 has not opted to post it himself. It's up to the dev or a designated maintainer of a rom whether or not to post it in development and provide support for it.
I found this rom and decided to post it as a way of sharing dhacker's work with the community. Besides, what does it matter where it's posted, if it works for you and you like it, use it. If it doesn't, just don't use it.

Dual Boot Patcher and app sharing

I have my dual boot setup running well. Primary is Official Samsung Rom and secondary is Cyangenmod 12.1. Both are rooted. Samsung Rom contain a few apps that I like to have on the CM side and I don't want to reinstall the same apps 2x. I went into my primary, selected 'share individual apps' (both apk and data), choose 2 apps. Rebooted but I don't see the 2 apps in the CM side. Don't know what I'm doing wrong

I'm using dolphin browser on my Razr and it plays most of the flash content: videos, animations and such. However, it fails when the page is completely based on flash.
On my ARM tablet, dolphin with a flash plugin loads even the latter. So I guess, flash on android "hacks" are just not 100% compatible with our x86 device.

Advantages of CM 12.1 over stock with different laucher

At the moment I'm very satisfied with my rooted fire having stock firmware and Nova launcher.
Anyway, many people are happy about having the possibility to change from stock to CM 12.1 firmware.
Question is: what are the main advantages of CM 12.1 compared to a rooted stock firmware?

I am using CM for 2 days now
+ Square.Home launcher is finally fully working (on stock firmware - widgets and notifications where not avaliable for it, even after made it system)
+ Modded playstore with patched jar file (was not able to patch it on original)
+ Normal downloads (It was so stretched, made my eyes bleed)
+ Much more free space - and much less in-built ****
+ Normal system search (say bb to bing)
+ Normal system settings (Manual time set, full Notifications management, accounts management, etc)
- No bluetooth
- No SIM icon (can be fixed now, i am just too lazy)
- No battery stats
I tried out CM12.1 and while it's great to have stock, playing videos isn't working quite right (the system seems to hang for about 15 seconds, plays a bit of video, then hangs again, and repeats). I got Netflix to work, but PLEX and other forum apps didn't work right.
my only problem with CM 12.1 atm is no exFat or NTFS support, so my 64gb and 128gb sdcards are useless

PLEX was the big one for me. I'd see the first frame of video, then the system would freeze (no response to tapping back/home), then 10-15 seconds later it might play a few more frames, then do the same thing. .gifv links in imgur also fail to animate in Chrome (and I think I tried Firefox).
No problems with video using FireOS.

Fixes for various bugs and new rom updates seem to be coming fast. At least to me. Untethered boot from ggow, OTG, battery stats, no sim bug, bluetooth, multiuser, video fix, feels like every couple days there is an improvement. Major props to all developers & contributors.

Why wouldn't you just do a clean install? Getting the device to TWRP is 90% of the effort. If you are going from stock to a custom ROM, you really should wipe out all the old data.

Well, I got two devices. One is on stock (rooted and so on) the other one is on SlimLP since today. On SlimLP's device I've downloaded all the apps needed and made all the configurations I want. So if I could backup/restore the SlimLP (with all the apps and configurations) to the stock device I'd save about 2-3 hours of work.

Yes, that should work fine.
restore system has not worked for me, stock or cm12.1, so I have been
In Twrp: Install rom, Supersu, gapps, then restore> uncheck all except data>swipe to restore
Like what shadow said.. Both systems are altered after boot ( differ even just slightly) so completely porting may crack your wallpaper but its safe .. You should try it .. If I were you .. I would have tried 2 different roms on each.. But yeah it takes time .. So ...
