[RESTORE] LG G4 H811 Return to full stock 10H - T-Mobile LG G4

Removed due to hard brick downgrading!!!

Awesome!! Thanks for putting this together!
G4'ed it!

Great, thanks!

Would a version without stock recovery be possible? I'm out of town without my laptop otherwise I'd mod the current zip. Thanks.. ?

Could you not just download the file and delete the recovery.bin from the .zip? Not 100% sure that'll work, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Yup. I deleted recovery and boot images leaving just system and it flashed only system preserving my TWRP.
I needed a quick 100% stock system to check if there is an update for Stagefright so it was a quick way to flash it.
I am starting to think about moving off of a TMO ROM even sacrificing WiFi calling in a process as the bloat and problems with upgrades are a bit discouraging to me. I guess I am spoiled with my Nexuses and 1+ in this regard and G4 is my first mainstream phone. Locked bootloader, a mess with updates..... not sure if I've made a good decision....

So did you just flash the system.img (only) with TWRP? Or the whole zip without boot.bin and recovery.bin? I could use this to revert back to stock with root, and debloat from this? Also, is it stable this way?

After u download flash how?
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk

I think I screwed up, but I'll learn from it. I find this to be the hardest I've done to root. The G4 requires so much, I'm my opinion. It's not bricked, that's all it matters.

AT&T S5 Devs, do we have any?

Really curious to see if we have any Devs working on the AT&T S5 yet? If so, when do you all think we can expect to start seeing some stuff in the development threads? Obviously BL needs unlocking, if possible. Do we know of anyone working on this?
Thanks Guys!!!

I am aware there is no root. If your insinuating that there is some other thread on the subject, I am fairly certain there is not. If you mean something different entirely then would you please elaborate?

My S5 is coming in today. Locked boot loader means no development ever except for maybe some safe strap stuff much later down the road which is just rehash of stock roms. No AOSP or CM.

I personally don't really care about roms, as I like the new Touchwiz and don't want to lose some of its nice features. I would like to have root, though. Hopefully someone finds a way for that to happen soon.
Edited OP to clarify on some confusion about exactly what I was asking.

Chainfire needs to the stock recovery to build root for the device, basically auto root by chainfire modifies stock recovery temporarily, flashes su then flashes back stock firmware through odin.

You can't pull recovery without root on your device, the only thing we ATT users can do is wait for Samsung to post the firmware which they havent, SM-G900A is the ATT model number, Tmo and Sprint are already up so they already have root.

Keep in mind guys that if the ATT BL is locked chances are CF Root will fail to flash or boot even if CF builds one for ATT...also if this happens knox warranty is tripped leaving you without warranty coverage and no root...likely a new KK exploit will have to be found...hope I'm wrong about the BL as I'd like to get rid of bloat before handing the phone off to GF..

If you plan on unlocking the bootloader, you shouldn't update. LG has a reputation of permanently locking the bootloader with their updates.

On the topic of the update - does anyone know what exactly changed with it? Probably the only thing I noticed was that you can now choose between Dalvik and ART. But that's about it. Anything else?

Not sure about the D405, but on the D415 after enabling developer options we can switch between ART or Dalvik. I haven't updated or looked for an update for my D415.
EDIT: Just checked for an update for the TMobile D415. There isn't one.

I know this has been asked but how do I disable ota updates on my rooted G4?

I would like to disable them and get rid of some bloatware that T-Mobile has put on this phone. If y'all can give me a good app and the apks needed get rid of I would be very thankful.
Thanks in advanced

Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
Did you put the debloated ROM on your phone or the debloater app because they're two different things. Also are you ROOTED because you can't use the debloated ROM unless you're rooted unlocked and custom recovery installed.
I have the Debloater T-Mobile rom zip drive. I have flashify and twrp while being rooted and oem unlock.

Well if you have TWRP installed already then all that's left to do it boot into recovery, make a backup ( in case bad things happen) wipe cache ( TWRP may already do this while flashing ) and then flash the debloated ROM.
first time in twrp it asked me something about making the system read only to stop future ota updates? did you guys do that or? I think the button said "read only" so it would make it read only?

I'm vaguely remembering that but I think it's asking it you want to allow an OTA to wipe over TWRP. You probably wouldn't and that because then you'd probably lose root and recovery.

Bootloader unlock?

Since we have root, we now need a bootloader unlock. Does anyone know if there is a bootloader unlock coming? I hear that with the domestic carrier versions of this phone, you cannot even access fastboot. Is a bootloader unlock even possible?

I've never tried the full sprint Rom. I rooted using overdrive method. But I would think it would work the same since all the fw is universal.. But all I did was download the zip, flashed in flashfire. Rebooted and it booted up with the boot animation. no more Verizon boot animation

Both current root methods use the Sprint userdebug to replace the Verizon recovery. I used OvrDriVE's method which adds a few more steps to flash parts of Verizon firmware which leaves you basically with stockish Verizon but Sprint kernel.
