MHL - does it have it? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the white Samsung mhl 2.0 dongle that I used with my S5 and Note 4.
The S6 family didn't support mhl, and wanted to know if the note 5 does.
Thank you.

MHL cables (dongles) are used to connect the phone direct via cable to an HDMI TV, basically screen mirroring minus the lag from chromcast type wireless devices.
all of Samsungs phones until the S6 used MHL, but then they stopped...so I was wondering if theres any official document showing if the Note will have it.

They stopped? Wth?

These are being shipped directly from China. Very likely counterfeits, even though the originals are produced in China.
I made the mistake of not finding out what sort of MHL connector the note 2 uses and got one inteded for use with galaxy s2 and the original note.
Would be needing an adapter so trying to find out the best solution.

Yeah if they weren't currently sold out.
They are in stock today. I was just able to put one in my cart. I had back ordered one, but when I got the email they were available I cancelled it. Now, I wait for the AllShare cast hub to be in stock.

Would a 3rd party adapter do all the Samsung one does? Or is it worth going official?

DLNA to NON-SAMSUNG devices with note 4

On my galaxy s3 I was able to show pictures on my Toshiba tv using DLNA, which I'm assuming was built in.
Since I've gotten my Note 4, all I get is the Samsung allshare option, which does not see my Toshiba tv so I'm guessing that is a Samsung thing (all share)
What's the best option for universal DLNA on the Note 4?
I've been using AllCast app. Made by ClockworkMod.
I use Localcast, works perfectly with my Xbox One.

Galaxy Pocket 2 otg?

Since there is no dedicated forum for the Galaxy Pocket 2, I'm hoping somebody here can help me out. I'm thinking about using the galaxy pocket 2 in a project of mine requiring usb input. However, I'm not sure whether the pocket 2 supports otg or not. By doing a quick search on google, I find a couple of links mentioning the pocket 2 and otg, and I find an amazon link for a generic otg cable which mentions the pocket 2, but it all seems quite sketchy to me. Can anybody confirm whether this phone supports otg or not?
no have suport a otg .-.

[Q] Note 9 DeX port to older devices?

Is there a ported version of DeX for older devices?
My sister has a Galaxy Note 4, which has a TV connector (it was called MHL). She often used multi window on a PC monitor.
But is there a way to get the real Note 9 DeX on a Note 4 or some older devices?
Having a S8 or above still plausible, but I think Samsung won't give dex capabilities to phone older than that...

First things first, said device need to have at least a MHL output compability.. That is a technology that enables phone screen mirroring through the micro-USB cable. Bear in mind that this is a hardware issue, so if the phone is not made with MHL in mind, we are unable to do more..
If the phone have that compability, I heard that sentio desktop (can search in Playstore) offers dex-like experience.. Personally, I never use it, so I can't say much about it...

Dex wirelles on Sony AF9

I have updated my Note 9 to enjoy the Dex wireless's function.
However, I cannot connect the Note 9 with my TV because the Sony AF9 does not support screen mirroring.
Is there a solution to make up for this?
Thanks
I have a 2011 Samsung UE40D6100 TV which also doesn't support Miracast. I bought an AnyCast M9 Plus (although i think it's fake xd) and both Smart View and Wireless DeX work fine.
Buy the Dex cable

I have seen that AnyCast M9 Plus supports up to 1080p.
Having a 4K's TV I would like to take advantage of the maximum resolution (1440p) of Dex wireless.
Therefore, is there a miracast dongle that supports 4K?

AnyCast M100 is for you then: https://any-cast.com/products/m100-wireless-display
Just make sure you actually order it from their real site. Otherwise you may end up with a fake like me which might not support 4K. My TV is 1080p so I'm happy even with my fake one haha.
