Buying a Lenovo K3 Note, remove bloatwares? - K3 Note Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, i've been looking around for a phone to buy that is under $200 and found that Lenovo K3 Note is a good choice due its high performance.
However i've been searching and been reading about it, and it seems that it has alot of malware and bloatware when you get it out of the box. I have never flashed a rom (if that's what you call it) before so please forgive me if i ask stupid questions.
Is is possible to flash the rom (without having to root it), to remove all the bloatwares and malwares?
I've been looking at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/organized-thread-lenovo-k3-note-k50-t3158522
And found this one: ++LiMoNcHeLo 5.1 MDSTeam MoD++
As i said, it's the first time i ever flash an android device, is this the "best" Rom of them all? There is like 20+ different roms, and i have no idea which one to choose.
And also, which tutorial should i use to flash the phone? I've found severals and they are all different

Really no one?

I got the phone today and it had KingRoot installed on it.
If i follow RootJunky's tutorial he uploaded on youtube, won't my phone "crash" because i will have both Super SU and KingRoot?

hi.
Here's "How to Root ASUS Zenfone 4" (I don't know in case device can be unrooted after rooted from method from the link).
1. is it easy to root z4?
-- Yes, In case you read(know what you are doing) and follow carefully. In short, not impossible.
2. like no problem in rooting my phone?
-- I don't think any dev take responsibility for any type of device damage after following his/her instructions. But mostly damages not happen. so always make sure by reading comments, possible that someone have replied success message.
3. once i root my z4, is there a recommended bloatware list i can freeze?
-- "Recommended", yep maybe in case someone have made list. but in simple, things you don't use and are not part of official firmware and by removing them it does not effect device OS. then it's fine to stop them or lock them from being loading in startup/boot or completely uninstalling them. there are apps to make this work easy. (i'm not recommending anything, just sharing for idea.)
4. is there other way to make the battery last longer?
-- Yes. there are threads on this platform.
5. and when will kitkat upgrade available to zenfone 4?
-- I don't know in case there will be Official upgrades or not. But maybe there are Custom ROMs on internet.
6. any unrooting guide here?
-- already answered. Other than last answer regarding this question, there are ways to unroot device with different tools type. but not sure about method of which i posted link above.
i just want to upgrade first my z4 before i root it.
-- I think there is option for upgrade/update in Phone setting "About phone" and in case upgrade/update is available then it will be Official.
Advice: Do not try anything on your device Until you know what you are doing. always make full Backup of your device before doing stuff like "Root/CWM(Custom Recovery/Custom ROM). don't take my answers as perfect, make more search, wait for more replies.... until you get enough information and are sure that you understood well, what you learned etc....
hope, answers helped you a little.

[Q] Recommendations for Rooting new AT&T Galaxy S5

Hiya all! I was hoping i could get some advice on your recommended method for rootng my new S5. I havent done a root since i bought my s4 over a year ago, so i wanna get up to speed on current rooting. I already tried the Towelroot and it doesnt work on my phone. Im guessing my phone came preloaded with the update that breaks towelroot. I tried the tricks with changing the number values in Towel by tapping the screen 3 times , but none of them worked, they all say my phone isnt compatible. So id like to know a few things. A: which root method do you wonderful XDA peeps recommend i use? and B: what would u recommend i do to remove all the annoying bloatware and such? Its been a while for me, so i didnt wanna rush headlong into this without getting a professional opinion first. Perhaps theres a good custom Rom i could flash?
Thanks!
~SinisterDev
Try this be sure to follow it all.

Samsung unlock Bootloader on SM-870A.
Thanks ! That was a breeze! phone has been successfully rooted! Any recommendations on what to use to remove all the bloatware and crap? Im considering trying a custom rom sometime, but for now i at least wanna clean this up and get it running better with more storage space!

[Q][SOLVED] New Z3C Owner Here, Just a few quick questions if your feeling helpful :)

Hi guys (and girls?)
Just picked up my Z3C yesterday. I am coming from a LG G2 and I had that thing rooted and running Slimkat within a few hours just because of the LG UI and stock kernel, not in such a rush with this phone as I quite like the UI and stock performance.
I've spent the day so far reading and reading and reading, I'm a bit rusty on my Sony rooting and flashing procedures (last Sony phone was the Xperia Arc)
For now all I am after is root access ( without unlocking the bootloader yet) so I can do a little debloating, install xposed etc while still enjoying the DRM related features (until I can assess if any of them matter to me enough to bother keeping )
Am I better off just rooting, backing up my DRM key (TA partition right?) and flashing a modified stock firmware from the start or can I achieve my goal just by rooting my current stock firmware?
I am currently reading through all the related threads and will probably work it out eventually but it would be pretty cool if someone could help me skip to the good stuff.
Anyway, enough story time, if you know of any good guides, tutorials etc that will help me achieve what I'm after just paste a link or whatever
And don't worry, I know how to use the thanks button
I am new user of Z3C as well, not expert by any means, to add my perspective to the same question asked by OP:
I just want to root Phone to add custom fonts and bold fonts, basically want to make it closer to iPhone 5s, which has bolder fonts. For me these fonts are too thin, if i make them large too large, thats the only thing i dont like about it.
So i want to root phone, just to change fonts and then unroot again, stock is sufficient for me and i feel i can have better battery with stock and stuff.
So can somone kindly guide me how to safely root, change fonts, unroot. I have no need of xpose and stuff at all.
Thanks in advance.
Hey get your own question thread lol nah I'm kidding, more the merrier!
I'm still reading everything and have found a few good tutorials. I'll post here anything I find that answers any of mine or your questions. But would still like to invite the users who really know this phone to share Thier opinions.

This is what you need.
Probably you can't "root directly" because your phone is updated with the last firmware version.
So, you need to downgrade to a version which has the exploit, root, backup DRM keys (for safety only) and update again with a pre-rooted rom.

I'm actually working my through that as we speak! (but totally appreciate you taking to time to point me there )
Just finished backing up my DRM keys (uploaded to mega and google drive, cus im careful like that haha)
just about to go through the PRFC part now.
Beginning to realise how spoilt I was with the LG G2 and being about to use towelroot.apk haha

Hey mate, hopefully you have been doing your own research on the topic, but here is what I have learnt.
there is no simple root/unroot that doesn't require flashing firmwares etc.
but, if you do follow the instructions in the thread our helpful friend linked to you can create your own .ftf file with root included. The instructions also include a recovery in the ftf file but you opt to leave it out. (I actually made two custom ftf files, both with root but one without custom recovery).
I flashed the one without the custom recovery because for the time being I'm happy to keep the phone as stock as possible and simply don't need a custom recovery (I've got 2 phones and 2 tablets for tinkering with so I'm trying to avoid it with this phone which I use for work)
anyway, I have kind of answered my own question ultimately and will mark the thread as such.
but feel free to PM me if you need a hand with anything

Draining battery, Root, upgrade and a lot of trouble !!!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie who don't know a lot about root and upgrade.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SN-N900A (AT&T unlocked) and my battery is draining way to much energy.
I looked over the internet and I think it might help if I change my plateform.
So I'd like to root the cellphone but I cannot figure out step by step how to do it.
After rooting, I wonder if it would help to upgrade to marshmallow or nougat without all the draining useless apps from AT&T.
I saw some post about it but I don't know how to use Odin, how to downgrade to android 4 to root or anything else for that matter.
I'm kind of desperate.
Thank you !
The bootloader on this phone is locked and cannot run a custom ROM unless the custom ROM is based on a stock Samsung ROM.
How old is the battery? When did this start happening?
You're not going to like this, but....

mauvaiscell,
You are on a obsolete, dying platform. Your best solution is acquire a new device, if not new at least recent enough to run contemporary software. The latest stock ROM for the Note 3 is several generations behind, and will not be updated. Since many of the later apps no long run on that ROM, or at least not to their full capability, the best answer is get a replacement.
But don't discard your Note 3. Within limitations it is still a beast. Use it to learn about ROMs, apps, etc. You are obviously a smart guy because you know where to look for answers. All you need do is look a bit deeper. All the answers you need are on this forum. Start by reading about SafeStrap, rooting exploits, and custom ROMs. READ, READ, then READ some more. Once you're confident, and have all the tools at your disposal, then start experimenting with your Note 3.
Best of luck.

In tons of forum post that I read so far (as a newbie), this was the most satisfying one ty so much! I'm struggling for 10 days to install a brillant custom rom (ie lineage ) i have only come to try with boot with safestrap recovery and error with it till now.
I gave up tired and the only thing i dont want is a brilliant Rom no longer, it's just an unheated battery.

how to root and what possibility gives me the root?

hello raga, I have a huawei p9 and as you probably will not see the update at oreo, I decided to root my phone. I would like to know how to do it, if it is better to do it through supersu, if through magisk (what is the difference between the two?).
Also, once I've done the root what can I do? I saw that it is and little for this phone ... Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

and once magisk is installed, what can I do with it? what chance opens me?
Look, 'rooting' is complicated, you have to unlock Bootloader, you have to flash custom Recovery, then to install custom pre-rooted ROM or to root yourself the stock ROM
If you are unfamiliar with them (incl. ADB, Fastboot) then better gave up or postpone and search through XDA to becone familiar with.
It's not possible to do it all in 15 minutes (and for total novice not even in one day) and nobody can walk you through tens and tens of steps - everything is well described in the threads you can find on XDA and read
Giving you such advice for your good ,- there are too many reports on bricked phones resulted by unfamiluar users who ad-hoc juped into flashing (particularly for Huawei phones)

Thank you very much, I come from a Moto g3 on which I flashed the LineageOS, so something root I know. I just needed information, maybe what thread to follow and what can i do with the root or magisk ...
O.T. The p9 is fine even with the rom stock, but what is the best custom rom for this phone?
This is IMO (see also the number of users) the best custom ROM
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/rom-huawei-p9-magicrainbow-v4-t3759292
Debloated stock ROM, pre-rooted, with additional tools ported and built in
Generally if you go for AOSP ROMs, yhey cannot use native drivers and cannot fully/properly utilize camera, etc
