Never

Why do you say never? This is possible for s6 so I don't see why you would say never

That's a good point. The s6 and the note5 seem identical in most ways.

Look up Adguard, I've been using it for a few days and it works well without root.

Just root, samsung pay is pointless and useless. I can use my bank NFC payment with root and it's perfect.

using gear with a gophone/Note 3?

I just picked up a Note 3 and wanted to get a Gear watch as well. The problem is I'm with Gophone prepaid and you can't tether with them. Does this mean I'm out of luck and can't tether the Gear to my Note 3?

Thanks, I was mainly curious about internet access. Being on Go phone, with the Gear tethered to my Note 3 will I be able to access the internet on the Gear itself?

[Q] Rooting the Note 4 w/o tripping Knox

I stumbled across this video and I wondered if any of the experts here have tried this method to root the Note 4? It's not an easy method but I would be willing to do it if it doesn't trip Knox.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6SgzoYo71M
Thanks in advance!
huh. doesn't everyone use cf auto root to root their device? And no. There is no method to root the note 4 without tripping Knox.

Sorry but anyone who is here and has been has already rooted. The guy who posted that seems to only work on note 3 without kernel patch. Definitely not note 4

Why go to Samsung when TMOBILE offers the warranty for them and they could care less.

In my opinion, T-Mobile service is really bad so I don't use them. Coverage where I live is abysmal. I guess I could always activate a prepaid SIM for warranty service but as it stands now I would likely use Samsung for warranty service.

Quick question buying nexus 6 on craigslist

Hey I'm looking at a few craigslist nexus 6s. If I activate it before I give the seller money, and it activates successfully, can the seller report it lost or stolen and deactive it after its already oon my line?
Thanks

if the owner has his account set up in it, youll never be able to activate it unless the owner removes his account.

its a new security system for the nexus.. even if you wipe the phone 10x and then flash the factory image, it will still ask for the previous owners security, unless he removed it. if it is removed, then it would be fine. and if he didnt, and you got the phone, he can reset his password, but it will take 3 days before it becomes affected. this is for people that steal devices, to keep you safe.

ask him. but chances are that he probably doesnt know that you have to remove it now(before you didnt have to). so, you might have to let him know that he has to remove his account first.

You should meet up at the carrier store you're trying to activate it at and have someone at the store make sure everything is ok and it activates. Also if you buy things from Craiglist a lot, you should have a receipt book and have the seller sign it and take a picture of the license plate or write it down so you can file a police report if things go sideways.

That's not how craigslist scammers screw you. They usually have it insured and once they sell it they report it lost or stolen and you lose your money.

The past few devices from Samsung with SnapDragon have had locked Bootloaders, been this way for the last couple years. I haven't rooted a Samsung device since the Note 4, I believe.

Well the crappy usa and Canadian S9 doesnt have root yet almost 6 mos from dropping so highly unlikely the note will get it.
Didnt you do any research before buying bro? Its no secret that the north amercian devices have root issues since the s7.
Well wtf no I didn't know that
how can people still not know the difference between snapdragon and exynos. it's mind boggling
ill give you 50 bucks for it, since you hate it so much already..
That doesn't make since the how can't snapdragon be rooted to smart for ppl? To root or ??

If you want root you have to buy the version with the Exynos chip. We have the Snapdragon variant in north America and it can't be rooted period.

The bootloader is locked, and no one can grt around that now.
They could on the s7 and s8 but even then the root was hacked and had issues.
After that locked down tight and it able to be cracked

@force70 and even when they figure out a hackish way to root a snappy, firmware updates would probably circumvent it.
on the note 8, samfail worked till U3 bootloader and they just decided to abandon the project(after 3 iterations) . so this means someone that wants root and keep device up to date will only be able to do so at the mercy of the people that create the wokarounds. if i remember correctly, samfail from start to finish lasted what, like 6 months? lol
What really sucks is I thought that buying direct from Samsung would get me the Exynos model, but I was sadly mistaken. Apparently the only way to get the exynos model is taking a risk with third party sellers which I couldn't do for something so expensive.

Do any one click solutions work?

I'm just about at my wit's end right now. I really want to root my phone because Substratum looks absolutely amazing but I can't seem to get any of the one click solutions to works. And I looked into some of the manual methods but they were fairly confusing.
Just look through the forum. There's a few threads on how to root this phone, and there's no other way right now...

Well, that's a shame. Seems like I have terrible luck when buying phones. Every time I get a new phone, it always ends up being one of the few phones that can't be rooted.

Well it can easily be rooted, but the part that isn't easy is unlocking the Bootloader. And in order to root you must have the Bootloader unlocked and luckily we have 2 people who are willing to unlock it for us for a very reasonable price.
